I got my COE (2/6) yesterday on the Deluxe version however, my brother on the standard version did not get it. Both of us bought on the same day. And both of us paid for guaranteed COE bidding within 6 rounds.

latest Mazda 3 pricing after yesterday's COE bid

Deluxe Model - 109,988 with 6 bids GUARANTEED COE, Rebate

This is a 1k increase from the previous price BUT the COE is guaranteed!

*Note, there is no pricing for non-guaranteed COE.

With their latest pricing, i am quietly confident that Mazda will get me my COE within my remaining bids :D

Seems like their profit margin is not as high other AD..

Any advice IF I am going for a new car. What to look out for when negotiating with SE? Guarantee or Non Guarantee COE? What is the chances of Non Guarantee COE? What happend after 6 unsuccessful tries of COEs? First time considering buying a new car. Thank you.

Guarantee COE means not matter what price, dealer will bid the COE for you with in 6 bids.

Non-Guarantee Coe always come with COE Rebate portion, dealer suppose will bid the COE at least the COE rebate amount.

Example rebate at 50k, they will at least bid 50K for every coe bidding, then they might bid a little higher on last 2 bid.

How much higher is depend on their profit, how much they willing to give away.

    Non-Guarantee COE package,

If first few bid , COE price going too high, then SE might asking you top up earlier.

if unsuccessful for 6 bids, then usually dealer will asking you to top up. If you dun agree, then can proceed refund.

For refund part, you better double check with SE, is it any admin fee/bank charges involve before you sign the dotted line.

For me, I will always go tonon guarantee, because I feel the additional few K for guarantee COE package is not worth it.

That few k is enough for me to buy 2 return ticket to Euro for Travel :p

negotiation part is depend on your prefer. Some better ask from them, example solar firm and front camera.

Solar firm, dealer can get cheaper price than us.

Front Camera is want to hide the wiring, then better ask them to do it, else it will void the warranty.

Other then that, I prefer Cash Rebate instead.

Thank you Ncleon on your tips. I fully agreed to go for non guaranteed COE. For my case, I can afford not to adhere to their request of topping up the COE since my current car still has sometime before it reaches it's lifespan. There is always a saying, "if you don't ask, you don't get" on the freebies.

Seems like their profit margin is not as high other AD..

I really hope so & they better do if they want the Mz 3 to penetrate the CAT A as a regular. Else while Maz Cars look great to me & from what I heard handles well, the profit margin of the AD from the old days is really a turn off.

Hows the moving off? Understand the 6AT has a very low ration 1st gear of >3.5.

As for 0-100 is 0.5 sec faster that the last SP at 12.3. Add that if it can truly deliver the 20% inmproved FC in real Sg driving situation, thats a pretty good improvement over all. :)

hows the 0-60 which is more relevant in Sin from your test drive? Tia.

I drove 2 Mz cars before. The 323 in 2000 and the 3 SP in 2006.
What I dislike about the Mz has always been the poor FC and the IMO noisy/rough engine.
What I like is the handling and design.
The profit margin for the 2006 model was around 5k if I remember correctly and for the 2000 model was more but not extravagant. Not been following over the last few years but I thought it was fair on those 2 occasions. Maybe towards the end of their dealership, MM tried to get a better margin I'm not sure and like you I certainly hope the new AD succeeds as it would be good to have another alternative Jap B&B car selling regularly!!

    not like that la.

    a) guaranteed coe still come with coe rebate level.

    b) be it guaranteed or non-guaranteed coe, the agt still can bid below the coe rebate level.

    c) if bid below the coe rebate level, the difference will b refunded to the buyer. that's y it's called coe "rebate" level.

Hi guys, I have questions on my mind. When you collecting your new ride, there should already be some mileage clocked in your new ride. What's the typical range of the mileage that is acceptable...? It's like checking whether your ride was taken on a extra drive clocking more mileage... Thanks...

its not legal binding for Mazda to secure the COE within 6 bids..

What bro L23 meant was that its very likely that Mazda will bite the bullet and let us have the car, with reduced profit margin.

I bought at 106k, non-guaranteed COE and yet to secure COE after 3 bids.

But bros, that paid 3k more, i.e. 109k, with guaranteed COE has gotten their cars.

So we are talking about fine extra profit margin of 3k here... :)

Wat colours did u guys choose?

I chose aluminium metallic with black interior... :)

I did not top up 3K for guaranteed COE as

    1) I no $$$ :)

    2) I am doubtful tat the COE will skyrocket in the coming mths.. :)

Yes, this is also mentioned in the car's manual. But for best practise, I ensure I do not rev more than 4 rpm. Otherwise, drive as per normal.

Interestingly, there is no oil change for the 1k servicing. I heard from the customer service officer that the oil will only be changed at 10k servicing.

I found it quite weord too. They told me no need to change at 1k and 5k as this is a Skyactiv engine. Are you also driving a MZ3? May I ask what is the viscosity of the oil that you used?

Can see quite a number of new owners for Mazda ride.. Just a quick check, do you guys intend to install car cam on your new ride..? If yes, which brand of car cam do you guys go for..?

Maybe some typical concerns are, Is the car cam able to withstand local hot temperature, Car batt draining, wiring of the lines, ability to check the footage through handphone..etc.. But seems like to many concerns to take care. Just like to check with new car owners what is the take on car cam...

    Thanks... :)

I am driving the Mazda 6,2.5...This engine used 0w-20,100% Syn oil,own Mazda brand, but currently using Motul 300v,will switch back to Mazda oil, during the next 20,000km servicing,do enjoy the car,Mazda built very good car... I am getting my new ride tomorrow, also thinking of installing a car cam but also don't know which brand to go for. I was at Alexandra village this morning a car accessories shop (Hing Hock) selling a Taiwan brand ($210 with installing), even demo to me the screen and is quite clear even at dark room, but don't know whether the camera is reliable or not.

Not advised to shift to "N" on traffic lights, because, more damage will be done,if you shift to "D" & the engine re-start...Don't really need to step that 'hard' to activate the i-Stop..

Thanks. In light that the previous 3sp had 1.5/1.6, hopefully there would be also a 1.6 version perhaps for the FL version in a 2-3 yrs time. additional 100cc in favor of torque. :D
