It's stated in the car manual that for auto transmission cars, auto door lock activates when driving above 20 kmph. It's in the code. But local cars have the physical button removed on the arm rest. But it can be activated as I have seen the code when I manage to get in this afternoon after many tries. However it has its own temper. It's difficult to connect to the phone hotspot. I had to try many many times.

Once the command is activated, the mzdconnect menu will show the door lock option and you can make changes

It may not understand "help"? Have you tried to ask it to call someone? I have only tried the "call" command. It worked for me by saying "call xxx". It then showed me the person/number that I intended to call on the screen to confirm before making the call. It only understands simple commands from what I know. Mine is a deluxe BTW.

Be sure to press the unlock side of the driver's door-lock switch the correct number of times according to the selected function number. If the switch is mistakenly pressed six times on an automatic trans-axle vehicle or four times on a manual trans-axle, the procedure will be invalidated. If this occurs, start the procedure from the beginning.

i got two questions here:

1. A problem of my M3 is bothering me these days. It happened twice, both when i was going uphill (not too steep though), i press accelerator to try to maintain speed but then couldn't feel responses from engine, engine speed maintain low around 1k+ and i start losing speed. i am sure i have pressed the accelerator hard enough. Any ideas what's causing this?�

2. I went for 2nd service (5,000km) some time ago and thought would need to change engine oil, but then was told only need to change oil at 10,000km. Is it true?

I also�find accelerator response of Mazda is very poor and one have to press hard compared to my Altis before which I raised before in this forum. Not even on uphill even during highway lane transition�once you�slow down then �I feel I need to press hard to main the speed.

Yes you cant "talk" and it serves as a mute button. Think your "end" call button should work. My "end" call button doesn't work due to software according to the installer. I installed my LCD outside though.

You should be able to "talk" or give voice command...
Check the "settings" in your LCD menu...and see if the voice button is not being overwritten by the lcd settings to be "mapped" to the mute function instead of factory voice command...

If I'm not wrong, it is because of the e-throttle.
You feel lack of response or lethargic when try to accelerate and also the skyactiv gb kick up quite fast in my opinion. Before you know it's already in 5th gear.
If you continue press harder on the accelerator it will just stay in the same gear, say the throttle opening is 10% at 6th gear as example, you want accelerate a bit more, the throttle opening is now say 15%, still in 6th gear though. It will take a little while to speed up.
Maybe you can try this trick (it works for me all the times...hehehe), ease the accelerator and step on it again... the gb will kick down and you will feel the acceleration...

I feel there is sth wrong with the gearbox. say in uphill situation when press hard, it's supposed to go to lower gear and increase engine speed, in my case as i said, engine at only 1k+ which is definitely not the speed it should be.. have to raise this up to M3 service ppl next time when i go for servicing.�

I don't think they change oil during 5k servicing. They only do some check-ups and top up the EO if necessary.

The Mazda Connect sometimes hang and reboot, I also highlighted this issue. According to the friendly service advisor, they will check and update the software. The version appeared in the car is 56.00.100 4A N. I forgot what was my previous version, can anyone advise if this is the current version?

I have not done my 5000k service yet. Also that in my case my engine speed doesn't go below 2k in your situation except I feel hard pressing the pedal.

Mine had no problem to rev and drop gear whenever is require. In fact, I just went genting after my 1k servicing... Felt heart pain hearing the engine roars when going up with full loads..

1. Yes, they called to inform me that both batteries are weak and need to change. I was lazy to DIY so ask them to proceed with changing out the remote key's battery.�

3. I am also quite surprised when they called and told me need to change the car battery. Like you, I was expecting it to last around 2 years. But they did the battery test and said the readout is weak. Not wanting to risk a dead battery when trying to start the engine next time, I told them to proceed with the change.�

The other thing about battery is that I am not sure if there are alternative supply sources to it. Didn't go around asking and searching.

Anyway I finally changed my car horn at Autotrend. Finally because they are always so busy but today managed to find a slot. 40 dollars for Stebel. Finally can be more fierce with my horn!

They said they can do 1) doors close, engine start, tap brake... doors lock, then 2) engine off, doors unlock. Sounds ok, but, with our i-STOP thing, I think the doors will unlock everytime we're at a traffic light. I'm sure there are other combis. Just need ot check with them. SGD 80 btw.

Hi! All, had done the 30K Servicing and thought you might be interested to know the costs. Total cost is $627.03 including GST. Below is the breakdown.

1. 30K Schedule Maintenance Svc (Mazda Oil). Rotate and Balance Front Tires
Cost: $145.35

2. R&R (Remove and Replace) Car & Remote Battery
Cost: $19

3. Sundry items
Cost: $5

4. Gasket
Cost: $1.02

5. Battery Remote Key
Cost: $5.87

6. I Stop Q85 Battery
Cost: $298

7. Engine Oil
Cost: $98

The battery from the day I took delivery of the car till the 30K servicing is about 16 months old. The original cost of the new Q85 battery is $420, price listed above is after discount.

Besides servicing, I had also feedback on the noise coming from the front suspension during wet weather when going over humps. Previously, they had rectified once when I feedback that the noise appear just going over humps. Can only verify on that during rainy days, so far no joy.

The Mazda Connect sometimes hang and reboot, I also highlighted this issue. According to the friendly service advisor, they will check and update the software. The version appeared in the car is 56.00.100 4A N. I forgot what was my previous version, can anyone advise if this is the current version?

Nothing, I didn't do anything to my battery. Not even maintenance or topping up of battery water (if applicable).

Do you have car cam that taps battery after you parked your ride?

Yeap plastic, a little bird told me to give it a little shelter to prevent it from getting sunburn and turn yellow....

The cars are programmed to auto lock above 20 kmph for those who have activated the auto lock in the mzdconnect.

I tell you what happened to mine. I went to the showroom at Leng Kee. Actually was 50-50 on getting a new car to replace my Jazz. Anyhoo, was shown different numbers for the Deluxe Sedan. Wife and I decided we didn't want to take 60k loan for 5 years, so the SE said ok, then can't get the 2k discount, which we were ok with cos we save more not paying the interest.

After that, went on test drive, think like crazy. Finally settled with HB. So, after that crunched numbers. Came up with the final number. Said ok, finalized.

�

Next day, called me, said she made a mistake in the final number. Forgot to add in 2k because I wasn't taking the loan.

�

Long story short, paid 2k more. No compensation or anything. I hear bros here get stuff like petrol vouchers, SGD 1,888 discount, etc etc. for stuff like late delivery. Mine nothing at all! Had to go on with it. I know, I could have said, ok Cancel. But then, confirmed all the prints will come out saying I agreed to the sales, they reserve the right to make amendments, I agreed trade-in for my car and if pull out will be penalized etc etc.

So, some people asked me who my SE is. I'll just stay neutral. Won't condemn cos I got my car on time, no problems. Won't recommend also cos there are other better ones too (that I have read of).

Summary: Once sign on dotted line, you're beholden to them.

If coe starts to drop, buyers will choose to buy new cars over used cars. So old cars will loose its value just like 10 years ago, where even a 5 yrs old used car only have scrap or export value. During that time, used car dealers change their business model to sell PI cars instead. There's simply no market for used cars!

The logic is simple... With 9k coe drop now (which is around 20%), ask yourself, u will walk in to a new car or used car showroom? Used car dealers buying in used cars will also be more careful and will take in used cars at a lower value.

Yes, paint is thin. Little chips can see the grey mental already. Paint protection can't help much. Easy cleaning, yes.

I always have these questions but yet haven't try it out.

With the engine started, what happens when:
1, U get out of car with the key in your pocket (for example changing pass and u r at least 10m away). Will it auto stop the engine after some time?
2, Inside the car, but somehow it doesn't detect your key (for example key in pocket or key battery is weak). Will it auto stop engine when u r driving? Or iStop cannot restart the car again?

Without engine started:
3, u accidentally unlock car unknowlingly when walking away. Will the car auto lock itself after some time?

4, anyone tried modding the existing "alarm" system such that when u lock or unlock car will have some sound?

5, Since press button start, if key battery die how?... Doesn't make sense to jump start in this case.

Something like that. If they play safe, they may even go lower just in case COE drops further. Don't forget they are businessman as well. They wouldn't want to risk to buy in at high price and can't let go 2 months later.

If they anticipate it will drop further, they may not even want to take it due to overstock of used cars to sell away.
