2014 Mazda 3 part 66

Thats a very low viscosity oil. No wonder FC can be better then previous generations.

As long as it is 0W-20 it is ok to use according to car manual... It is not a special type of EO but just that it is not so commonly used. Usually car will use xW-30.

    Hi! Littledemon,

Congrats on securing your COE! With regards to your question, I had changed both stock speakers located at the front doors and added a micro sub under the driver's seat. Rainbow Speakers with Tweeters and Pioneer Micro Sub.

During the installation process, I noticed that the Mazda 3 (deluxe) came with a small amplifier installed. The micro sub had its power tapped directly from the battery.

Overall, it cost me $800++ for material and labor. Very satisfied with the improved audio quality and the installer's workmanship. Workshop is located in Toa Payoh Industrial Estate.

    Cheers!

    Hi Nitrogenarian,

Thanks for sharing this. Could you pm the shop name please or contact.

Mazda's own brand which is thinner.

These days, many car manufacturers are doing this. Cars using CVT ( Continuous Variable Transmission ) like Nissan Sylphy, uses its own too, because the engine oil is sprayed onto the transmission belt, unlike the planetary transmission where the gears are `bathe' in the engine oil.

I think for Mazda, while using planetary transmission, uses the special engine oil to enhance the power as well as fuel consumption.

    Try http://www.mazdas247...il-Requirements

    OMG!... 0W-20!!!

Viscosity of 20 is so thin! But again, this is available outside. But will need to take note what outside workshop use.

    THanks for the info!

Thats a very low viscosity oil. No wonder FC can be better then previous generations.

Seriously, i wonder how many cars out there using 20... so thin!

During the older days, 30 is for new car, 40 is when new car gets older.

Same thinking again bro. Hates such low viscosity oils. Good for FC but bad for protection against wear & tear.

Seriously, i wonder how many cars out there using 20... so thin!

Could be Autotrend at Lor 8.

Yah lor.... think back feels dumb lor. My rationale at that time is bcos my mileage super high one. My previous ride clocked 340k km b4 I change to mazda3. So I scare engine or gearbox have issues. But then... not likely 150k km will have such problem in jap car. If got defects problem, 1st 3 yrs shld surface already.

Being driving me standard for 2 weeks , realised the headlights are dim and low in angle.

Anyone havin the same feeling ?

Any suggestion to it without modification? Got led h11 fitting ?

I think the standard has manual levelling inside the car somewhere. You can adjust it higher.

As for dimness, well, halogen is never that great in this regard.

If u are going to adjust the level, make sure right side is not high as it will blind the eyes of drivers on the other side of the road. But nature, left is higher than right (for right hand drive vehicles).

Do also take note that vehicle test also check on this aspect.

Mine is soul red. I waited almost 4 months cos no stock and cannot be registered due to customs. But now I am a happy owner.

If you ask me (my opinion only), my pref would be 1. Soul Red 2. White 3. Titanium Flash

White is very nice imo. People say hard to maintain but I am someone who always go with what I like. To each his own !

Lol... Did he tell u buy from 7-11 will be more expensive, but they are open 24 hrs?

Lol almost exactly same as my preference in colour:

    1. Soul red
    2. Titanium flash
    3. White

I chose soul red for my ride...reason being the red is very unique n u cant find the exact same colour for other car brand..

I was deciding between vezel or mazda 3 n in the end i chose vezel cos vezel do not hv stock for the colour i want..my friend sarcastically said i buy car based on colour..lol

Seems there are two different kinds of OW-20

Mazda has two 0W20 synthetic oils. Non Skyactiv engines use the normal 0W20-QT.
Skyactiv cars use 0W20-MQ. The MQ oil has Moly added to reduce friction.

It's actually quite adequate even on a pitch-black road at night. Tested that at the road leading to Sungei Lebam floating seafood restaurant - fireflies visit.

Of course fog lights would be better in lighting up the area just in front of the car.

But then, could be because I did not want to have the Rikecool film. I prefer to wear my UV-Polarised glasses when driving in the day, and my parking is mainly sheltered.

The sunlight protection film tends to make it darker when driving at night.

Should not be an issue leh. My handphone (iphone 4) right pocket. Key fob left pocket. Used to use a rubber sock (no problem). Now using plastic casing - also no problem. You might want to bring it down to mazda to check - or use your second key fob and test.

Were the green lights on? The little green key icon; and the green light on the start button. They need to be green before you press start. When you step on the brakes, they (the green lights) will light up.

Also, did you press long enough? The first thing you will notice is that the steering wheel unlocks (a soft whirring sound), then the engine will start.

That should be the best option. That way, nothing will be drawing batt power. You only do this when you are going away for an extended period of time and there's no one around to start up the car for you to let the alternator recharge the batt.

I have nothing against the name or the logo itself, it is a nice name for a car, but the issue, for me, is having it everywhere. Which is what's gone down in your ride [:p]

I'm of the mentality that logo placement has to be done with care.

This just came in the mail...

The most sought after black n decker vacuum cleaner due to its strong suction power.

The BDH2000PL 20V handheld vacuum cleaner... Her suction is so strong, I feel embarrassed just saying it.

That statement "everywhere" which you made is not true. I only have it on the rings and the small mat. It is hardly "everywhere".

Important thing is I find it nice. We can agree to disagree.

imho, I'd have limited the logo to just the Commander knob. Even if it's not "everywhere" to you, it's kind of a "too much of a good thing" sort of scenario here for me.

But it's your car, don't let me stop you. [:)]

Here is another review on renotalk of the said vacuum cleaner.

I bought it from Amazon on the Black Friday sale

Thanks for the compliment. My tolerance of good things is higher.

The red accent on the knob rings not bad, but the "Axela" logo everywhere is tiresome and cheapening imho.

That said, it seems like you Mazda owners love to add stuff! Fun to watch this thread now and then [:p]

I half agree with u. I think both are ugly. The rings and the wordings. Haha. That's why I specifically paid more to get skyactiv wordings on my door sills vs axela.

EVERYTIME you are not using your ride for days.

Huh you mean need to open up the bonnet and unplug the battery everytime...

    I agree.

but the "Axela" logo everywhere is tiresome and cheapening imho.

Guys, i have looked through my finances and will be getting my ride between now and after CNY. Just to check with you guys some questions, i am thinking of trading in my laopokcar OPC hyundai verna 1.4Auto, due for scrap in Nov15 or leave it for scrap.

Open Market Value: $10,944.00 Quota Premium (QP): $12,979.00 Actual ARF Paid: $8,018.00 PARF Eligibility: Yes Minimum PARF Benefit: $4,009.00

Which option is more worth it for me? Condition is good imo despite its age due to it being an OPC car and they could export to other countries. Selling it is fine too but doubt any dealers will take in good value unless we purchase from them :D

Looking forward to advice from the experienced peeps here whom had this situation when purchasing from Eurokars.

For export, its the year that matter, not the mileage. Nowadays not many country will take in car which is more than 5 yrs old, not unless yours a prestige car (no offence) that is in demand.

If you are thinking to fetch a good price, best is to sell yourself online thru sgcarmart asap. Not easy though because the new buyer will have to fork out a huge sum of money to pay COE to extend by another 5 or 10 years. You are talking of around SGD30k to extend 5 years by cash!

The other way is to sell it to 2nd hand dealer yourself. You should be able to get a better deal than selling to Mazda (middleman). But risk no car to drive.

Last way and the simplest, drive to Mazda and let them handle everything! But before doing that, go to a few more places like Mitsubishi, Kia, Honda... etc etc and know how much you should be getting. Use that as a reference to guage "market" price.

    Hi bro, let me help.
Just do it online. It's almost instantaneous if your carpark uses RFID.

Use Singpass log in to this link below.

    http://www.hdb.gov.s...nsfer-procedure

Or you can use the hdb mobile app.

Thanks bro, will give it a try on 22 Dec.. Cant wait till that day.

    yup, how come nobody install?

This is not LTA friendly. Any DRL that is not original fitted on the car is not approved by LTA, hence when the 3rd year inspection is coming.. you might need to remove it.

Deluxe sedan already got DRL headlights, with this.. too overkill and hassle if i need to remove for inspection..

Dont want to take risk for something that is costly to install locally. Taobao is selling cheap though.
