i do the same everyday at the office =) extreme left lot. at least 1 side is safe.
1. Tried for 10mins, engine doesn't shut dwn
2. Tried for 15mins, with the key gone for >10mins, car still drivable for about 5min, I den parked the car w/o shutting dwn the engine, still kept running until key came back. But car did scream no keys found! (key in wife clutch bag, left me in the car to park and wait and went off to buy stuff). iStop din kick in.
3. Yes and no. YES (If you accidentally unlock w/o opening any doors) NO (If you accidentally unlock and followed by opening any doors and closing it with your key already out of range)
4. Base line system already have. when you lock and unlock, it'll "beep" not give an alarm to inform driver (not sure if youre refering to this)
5. According to SE, even if batt of the key goes flat (unable to unlock the door), the transceiver in the key only require very little pwr and would still be able to communicate with the car to start the engine. (Yet to verify).

My guess is Mazda isnt too concerned about losing market share to Altis then. Was at a coffeeshop and the people around my table were talking about the drop in COE and how attractive Altis is now. The coffeeshop owner then mentioned that he chose Altis over Mazda when he booked his yesterday. Although one can argue that if the buyer likes Mazda, eventually he will get it. But then I feel Mazda is losing customers sitting on the fence.

Don't think so this will happen again. 15 yrs ago govt wants everyone to own a car. But now with a growing population, its impossible. The recent 40-50% Downpayment and finance 5 yrs is part of their plan to reduce cars in Singapore. Our govt has made their stance clear to have lesser cars on the road.

Really surprises me that the Altis still doesn't feature cruise control. I use mine everytime I'm on the expressway - set it the the speed limit of the road and I'm assured of no camera capture for speeding. Not to mention the better fuel economy.

Got the new Mazda 3 for about 2-3 months liao and realized got some weird kinks and noises, hope you guys can help me out here....
1) In the morning, after warming up car there's a weird high pitch noise when I'm making a turn. After about 2-3 turns, no more sound.
2) weird 'knocking' sounds coming from side of the car, definitely not engine. Is it loose CV joints?
3) From day 1, there's a 'clicking' sounds coming from the dashboard every now and then, sound like plastic expanding/contracting. Anyone got a solution for this? Brought in for first servicing and they didn't manage to solve this problem.
Anyone has similar problems can share solution or advise me what to do?

2. If you hear knocking sound when going over hump, then its a known problem. Need workshop to change bushing.
3. This might be coming from the crowl / wiper bracket. This was a known problem for early batches. Due to clearance (lack of) between the sheet metal. There was TSB on this. Strange that your car has this problem. Shd get workshop to fix this as the sound ccan be quite irritating.

I think the film itself is ok. It's the worksmanship that is very lousy. I found some short filaments (maybe from brush) in the film, creating small bubbles. I saw some blade cutting marks on my windscreen also, most likely from when they trimmed the film that covers the upper portion of the windscreen.�

Think of loan as Instead of paying upfront cash of $60k, put that $60k into gov bonds or fixed d for 5 years, and it will be $65-70k when you redeem it! (You can still earn back at least some if not all the $8k interest paid, given the interest rate uptrend in the next few years..)
