Accidentally press on gear M And ramped my acc rpm to 5k for about 10sec. Cham...

Bro, do not worry, the redline is at 7k rpm. Unless you dumped it into D when the engine was still at 5k rpm.

Haha maybe their customers more uncle type.

I went to Nissan showroom and non of the SE wanted to entertain me. I was probably the youngest customer there.

Same here. Only borneo motors dun wanna entertain me.

No leh, that time last year I went to komoco, cycle and carriage, Mazda, Nissan, all entertained me the minute I stepped in.

Only Toyota looked me no up, their sales all looked away when I stepped in. I wore the same top, berms and slippers lei on the same day some more.

PI cars are stripe down to the minimum. Worse than Mz 3 standard version in my opinion.

Actually both the Axelas listed on the sgcarmart are specified with 6 airbags and smart keyless entry... the standard MZ3 has only 2 airbags and no smart keyless entry. Even the deluxe MZ3 has only 4 airbags.

The Axela Sedan even has blind spot monitoring on top of all the bells and whistles of the MZ3 deluxe.

The Axela Hatch however has this super old school air conditioning that belong to the 1990s.

And unfortunately both Axelas have a lower compression 110bhp engine...

How many air bags u want? 4 not enough? :s

If the PI one so good den go ahead and get it.

But wait, its a PI, no one buy Mz3 from them and due to that, one comes here asking for comments and trying to gain security over their 100k purchase.

Still in contact with your SE? Try asking him to get you one? Or at least a discount. If you are looking for the replica 3m mat SE selling, the shop is at kaki Bukit .

I have one of those. But i like the original one. more carpet feel..

Additional airbags normally goes to providing side impact protection, which cars are structurally weak in. Some people may think 4 airbags are not enough, others may think that seat belts are unnecessary, just drive safely will do.

Enough is subjective, but surely some people want it, otherwise all cars in SG will just come with 4 airbags...

Of course there are other considerations like warranty, dealer credibility & dispute resolution issues to deal with, butnot necessarily PI means stripped down or bad.

Anyway, chill out bro, these are just facts about the different in specs... nothing personal

Believe me. Engines are very hardy.

Confirm no problem even if u rev for 3mins

In the ship ferrying industries. They use very old car engines to power those old ferries at max rpm all the time.

I think the main concern is on the gearbox rather than the engine itself... rarely heard engine got problem (unless radiator leak still continue to drive long distance or didn't bother to change EO regularly), but GB issue is really quite a common story...

I think mine must be one of the lowest omv for a deluxe sedan a few dollars less than 17k when I bought last year with the SGD/JPY around 92. =(

I guess now shld be close to 20k?

sorry to break the news,...ITS ALOT LOWER THAN THAT!!! For all Mazda 3.

When you bought the car that time, they deduct the CEVS of $5000 from your car price, so your OMV or rather Parf value become $17,000 - $5,000 = $12,000

Say if you scrap at the 10th year, you can only get back $6,000.

Japanese cars quite sturdy and the manufacturer has some buffer. Just dont do it regularly and u will be fine. I done it a few times by mistake on my vios and no problems at all until scrap at 200k km.

    Cheers and enjoy the ride!

Haha I'm aware of that, then even worse mine was reg in June so cevs 10k, my parf at the end of 10 yrs is not even 3.5k, but it's okay think of it as renewing Coe 9 years down the road will be a no-brainer. Looking how so many 1st gen M3 are doing renewals, this current model definitely can renew unless by then everywhere is gg electric or solar technology.

yup deluxe sedan, higher OMV means get back more for PARF. not alot but 1 cent is 1 cent. i estimate abt 6K previously now at least got 7+K hahahah.... plus COE for mine was 53k. My car was bought with 47K COE. so paper gain 6K.

Drive as you would a Manual Transmission. You don't need to lift your foot off the accelerator as there isn't a clutch pedal for you to play with. The car's computer will select the timing with which to engage the gear for you - personally I find a slight lag between up and down shifting and when the gear actually engages. Note that it is not a 'true' manual transmission - it is still electronic - even flappy pedal shifters are electronic too - even more so in fact.

sorry to break the news,...ITS ALOT LOWER THAN THAT!!! For all Mazda 3.

When you bought the car that time, they deduct the CEVS of $5000 from your car price, so your OMV or rather Parf value become $17,000 - $5,000 = $12,000

Say if you scrap at the 10th year, you can only get back $6,000.

Don't be confused by the CEVS 'rebate' - You do not get the FULL value of the rebate.

What is advertised as CEVS 'rebate' is the amount taken out from your car's scrap/de-registration value. So what may be seen as a 'discount' off your purchase price will actually come back into the picture when you de-register your car (depending on when you de-register).
Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong here:

    hypothetical scenario:

    Actual ARF = $17000

    Minus CEVS, ARF is now = $17000 - $5000 = $12000

If scrapped at 10 years, you get 50% of the ARF

With CEVS rebate, (ARF at $12000) = $6000

Without CEVS rebate, (full ARF at $17000) = $8500

So the effective CEVS rebate is $2500

Effective CEVS rebate is the difference between getting your PARF with and without the CEVS rebate

However, if you deregister when your car is less than 5 years old, you get 75% of the ARF

With CEVS rebate, (ARF at $12000) = $9000

Without CEVS rebate, (ARF at $17000) = $12750

Then your effective CEVS rebate is $3750

Effective CEVS rebate is the difference between getting your PARF with and without the CEVS rebate

I have used the word 'PARF' here to represent 'PARF rebate'. I omitted the word 'rebate' so as not to confuse anyone with multiple uses of the word 'rebate'.

But use a BLACK piece of paper. :P

Thats what i have been saying all along, this so called "CEVS rebate" is actually eating into our parf value end of the day when we sell or scrape. A gimmick.

So for your case didn't connect to car batt for charging right? So is yours sustainable for overnight parking mode recording? I spend like 2 hrs on the road daily and that 2 hrs of daily charging is not sufficient to sustain overnight parking mode recording for my case... I was trying to find out on this therefore I asked you previously.

Or perhaps for your case you park in private space therefore you don't need overnight recording. heh.

i never use that function, just expain the option available....

a few noob questions which i cant find any answers in the manual.

    1. anyway to stop the side mirror from folding while locking the car? I saw a Mazda 3 think 2015 model beside me able to do it. Engine off, lock car, side mirror still open. unless the owner pulls out the fuse after setting the correct viewing angle.

    2. Home Coming Light - is it the interior lighting will light up? or the DRL will light up??

    3. Home Leaving light - My head light only managed to stay on and after i lock car, it turns off later.. rest of the time is always off although this option is on. Read the manual, very confused.....

    4. Unlocking car by pressing button at door handle - SE told me press 1, 1 beep = open driver side only. Press 2nd time. unlock all. I think when i got the car i 1st press is like that. now its press 1 time, unlock all. i read is can set. but how? what did i do??

    5. RPM Meter will glow while in car with engine off, but not all the time. under what circumstance will that happen. it only happened 2 times in the dark. rest of the time even at night HDB carpark. sometimes no light show to see...

1: I'm personally a bit curious as to why you would want to disable this, it is for the protection of your mirrors.

Anyway, have you go run through the Options menu in your MZD Connect screen? There are a lot of function options for the car systems (such as the heads up display angle) in the MZD Connect settings. I suspect you can find auto-folding options there. My own car (not a Mazda mind you) has a tick box for auto-fold in its onboard settings menu

    2. Coming Home Lights are a feature which, typically only when your headlamps are set to Auto mode, leaves the car's lights on for a defined time. The idea is to illuminate your path home. Usually you can activate the feature manually by pulling on the light stalk (like flashing high beam). Again, check your MZD Connect settings menu, you might be able to find a duration setting there.

You mention in 3. that your car headlamps remain on after locking. This is your Coming Home feature.

    3. Leaving Home Lights are the inverse; they are intended to illuminate the path when you are leaving your home. i.e., when you remotely unlock your car, it should activate the lights. It is not when you lock the car. "Home" in this case refers to your actual home and not the car. These are both features intended for other countries where they have driveways.

    4. Again, have you looked through MZD Connect settings? Are you absolutely certain, that when you press the button, all doors unlock? If not, I recommend testing with a second person - you, as the driver, unlock the car with one button press, then leave the immediate area around the car - so you are outside of the Smart Key detection range - then ask someone else to try opening a passenger door.

    5. Sorry, I don't know anything about this, I didn't even know there was a pulsating light feature for the tachometer rim. It might be a form of welcome lighting though, maybe it only activates for a while right after you open the car doors. Other brands such as BMW have a similar style - the meters light up upon entry, and Volvo for example will display a really cool animation in the meter when you enter.

Alternatively, maybe it's tied to your engine start button? Like, if you hold the brakes, ready to start the engine, does this light go on?

As for your coming home/leaving home lights, I believe if you want to activate the coming home you have to pull (like flashing) light stalk when your engine been shut off. As for your leaving home light feature I'm not sure how to activate.

For your door locks problem... maybe contact your SE see if they can check the car software. For my car these kind of thing are accessible on instrument cluster menu... but some things like speed-sensing door lock got funny procedure to enable/disable. Good luck

You all noticed the bottom left icon blinking? I think that is the FOB out of range right? I ever experienced once in a while despite FOB inside my pocket but sensor can't sense it... this could be causing the dashboard rim lighting to glow on & off maybe?

I read about the setting inside the manual... you need to press and hold some button one... please read to confirm. According to manual, press one time is unlock driver side, but I think for Asian models, all have been configured press once unlock all... press 2 times then unlock driver side only.

You guys seen the latest price list? Mz3 Deluxe sedan now priced at $118K! But it comes with special rewards promo worth up to $10K. Dunno what the hell it means... their price list is getting more and more complicated. LOL

Doesn't make sense, should be press one time , all door open mah, if not how your passenger get in, you mean you need to get inside your car then press another button to open the passenger door?

If close, then should be press 2 times to close all doors mah, just need to let all passenger alight and close the door, then you close the driver's door last and press 2 time.. No? LOL

For coming home light, when you turn off your engine, before leaving the car, flash the high beam to activate.

For leaving home, your headlight most turn onto drl mode. Then when you unlock the car using your remote, the light will be on.

    Hope these help

if we leave the headlight to drl mode and lock the car, will it auto turn off after a certain timing?

Quite surprised that Std is now 110,888 and Deluxe is 116,888.

They probably think still cheaper than Altis (as long as cheaper than competitor it'll stand a chance) so might as well.

A good reason to wait for facelift is the G Vectoring tech that will debut in the FL 3. Even for those not looking for handling boost it makes steering adjustment less often

hooted fireball easy spray on for hydrophobic effect. quite solid but use up fast.

    got a slight improvement.

What brand of strut bar you got bro?

Tried the fireball ultimate wax but i feel didn't lived up to its hype. Applied and then washed the same spot twice and the effect is gone.

No, i mean (according to manual) press twice in quick succession on the button on door handle to open all doors, or press once to open only driver side. But in our case, it is the reverse which makes more sense to me unless most of the time you are driving alone. Anyway it is possible to set the default press once to open either all or driver door.

Where did I mention pressing another button in the car to open passenger door?

Oh ya... when closing, press 1 time will close all doors. It doesn't make sense to give customers the option to lock drive-side door only.

    Cool, black colour strut bar.

No need PPS to get beading. Waxing will also achieve that.

Outside i don't know, maybe a more branded bar, like corksport.

This one i ownself do one. just unscrew the bolt, then screw it tightly.

didn't cock up the wheels alignment, its a simple add one.

don't think it will give any form of protection.

its there to tight the car chassis alittle, to prevent body roll or floating effect.

just a little, don't expect alot.

simple black bar with mazda logo. better than those colorful ones. haha

yeap, waxing need to clay and buff. haha too lazy

nowadays rain abit, then dry up with dust stains. see also sian

Anyone know whether basic mazda 3 model have auto-lock mechanism?

I tried an experiment: lock-> unlock after~30s the car door will auto lock.

But if I do the following sequence lock->unlock->open door->close door, there is no auto-lock mechanism. Anyone have same experience or know why? :a-m1524:

my car's "mislock" setting seems to do something similar, if someone unlocks the car but doesn't open a door, it auto-locks again after 30 seconds, under the assumption the door was unlocked by mistake.

However, like your case, it remains unlocked if a door is opened. I would suppose it's in case someone has gotten into the car, wouldn't want them to get locked inside somehow.
