And have checked with SE that changed rim will not void warranty. Just that wheel rotation workshop may not do for you cos tyre shop changed out the original Mazda wheel nuts to a slimmer one that need an adapter to open.

And btw those on Jan 16 production M3. At least for deluxe which I gotten, seems like Mazda replaced the mickey honk to a conti honk. So better don't buy honk 1st b4 collection like what I did. Fortunately Autobacs kind enough to allow me to swap to other items of same or higher volume even after 7 days.

The adaptor is a common tool that every tyre shop should have. You should have no problem getting the balancing done anywhere you go.

I feel that it is adequate.

Though checking of blind spots needs a little getting used to due tothe sloping lines of the rear pax windows and thicker c-pillars (at least compared to my previous car). Still not as bad as say the Fiat Bravo.

check blind spot need to turn your head until can see C-pillar?

Seems like our side mirror coverage is not wide enough to view more details of what's happening on the road.

I think it's quite normal. Just pay a bit more attention to the blind spots before filtering to another lane.

Alternatively, like one of the bros said, you can swap it out for a wide mirror from JDM. It will take a getting used to and not everyone likes it. Try it out first before committing to the swap.

i installed car cam myself with cellink B battery.. got to remove before servicing or not? haha

    How is your connection like?

from your car cigar port ---> cellink B ----> Front dash cam ?

If No hardwire, warranty shoudn't be an issue...

That's why i did not buy the Mz 3. Having owned Mz 3 hatchback that came with the BMS, felt that this should be the feature that should be offered as part of the deluxe package instead of getting useless stuff like home light

    yup...

check with you, your dashcam able to use parking mode?

i heard that in order for the cam to go into parking mode, the cigar port must not have any power supply once off engine. which cigar port u using?

    Which dashcam you using?

I'm on Cellink B and Blackvue DR650GW-1CH. The parking mode works fine. Have been using it for the past 6 months.

And the cigar port is always off once engine is off.

Yes it's in my peripheral vision when I turn my head.

i assume its for the left blind sport? Normally i only look till the B pillar, once clear then filter lane to the left liao.

Any bros here also turn till the C pillar as well?

i'm using blackvue. It will auto go into parking mode after you park & it detects no movement change for a while... the cigar port is used to charge the cellink B when you're driving (about 1 hour for full charge). It's off when you stop the engine & the dashcam uses the power from cellink B..

Before you do PPS, you probably have to think about whether you are going to change body kit, rims etc.... Best to do all these first then do your PPS. At your 1k servicing, there is also a free car wash by TEK, I suggest that you do your PPS after that. Meanwhile, drive light footed to prevent cosmetic damage your car. Engine will also need to run-in for a while (yes, I am old fashion.... just to be safe).

As for PPS, there are quite a few recommendations in this forum. I am just going to say 3 for a start for you to research:

    1) ACE GT. I read alot of reviews and some feedback by ppl who used this company. Their feedback is very good and at the same time, most expensive. For a moment I almost want to sign a package with them but lack of $$$, so I gave it a miss. Overall, I think they are very reputable because of their good service.

    2) Opti-Shine. One of the most popular used by Mazda forum bros. Just do a search in this thread, u will see how many ppl go for Opti-Shine. If I were to redo my PPS, I would try out this one as well (just to clarify, my current one is bad, just that I would like to try something new). Since it is probably the most popular one by Mazda bros, I heard you can mention some names when you go Opti-Shine, not sure what additional things you will get but why not just give it a try?

    3) Revol. This is the one I went for, a couple of bros in this forum also went for it. I went there about 1+ mth ago and I still like my car shine now. Very easy to clean with ceramic coating. The guys there are straight-forward, no hard selling, overall pleasant experience. Another reason I choose them is because they are open 7 days a week (except CNY) and they close at 8 pm.

When you go down to a workshop, they will first quote you a one-time coating service, which is typically around $400 - $700+ depending on the type of coating you want. Then they will quote you their package. A package typically consists of these few additional things:

    1) No. of times to re-coat PPS

    2) No. of times free car wash

    3) Once you get package, you become a member and get member rates for other kinds of servicing like dent removal, repaint, oil change etc....

    4) Maybe other things like free car shampoo or accessories

    So you can slowly check.

I am honoured to be the first to poison you, cheers!

The big big screen is the Taiwan one with some funny interface or Mazda connect?

Last time was the Taiwan one. 1st generation one I think some people had issue with sound quality and freezing or something and TEK discontinued for a while. But now they bring back again liao so I suspect they iron on the system le.

rest of the freebie can just dump one side la.

I did ceramic coating at Revol. Supposed to be $688 but I topped up to $1.3k+ to add on another 3 coating maintenance sessions + 10 free car washes. Price might be a bit on the high side but I'm very happy with the end result and their service, they don't try to hard sell. For the 3 additional sessions, I'll just treat it as my annual CNY car spring cleaning session.

I'm planning to install bodykit and visor. So far I only managed to find JDM offering MZ3 bodykits. Anyone else got other lobangs for bodykits and visor?

Nope. Mine was a thick wire came loose near my pedals there, potentially entangle my leg when i switch from accelerator to brake and vice versa. Told the SA, he look look using torchlight and agreed to solve for me. I was prepared to bang table and insisted this was a safety issue, but heng didnt have to go this extent.

Price argument - Mazda 3 Deluxe: 103,888. Altis Elegance: 114,888. Difference of 11k is quite significant! (The price difference is still about 10k if you compare the Standard models)

    +

Looks argument - I think this one no need to explain right?

    +

Made-in-Japan argument - yes, I know Toyota is supposed to be very reliable but it's made in Thailand. Mazda 3 is made in Japan and it has a good reliability record too.

I'm driving an Altis now and my parents think I should continue with Altis when my COE is up at the end of the year. So I told them the above, and I get to make the final decision anyway since I'm paying [laugh]

This one no brainer for me. The exterior and interior design for Mazda wins, hands down, any day.

considering opti shine. for most of the bro, you all did the the platinum or titanium package.

is the kubebond worth the upgrade in term of shine and ease of cleaning? from the pics, can't tell the diff between platinum and titanium.

opti shine and groomers lab seemed to be the preferred choice here, both having special price for mazda vehicles. esp mz3.

Thanks bro, we also went to baby Kingdom and baby hypermarket (I think, can't really recall the name). Both are those store/warehouse kind at kaki bukit. They are a few shops from each other. Google and not hard to find their address.

I tested a not famous but made in Singapore car seat. Forgot the brand but there is only brand made in sg and the car seat is displayed right in front of you as you come out of the lift at 2nd floor. I tested this car seat and it can be put inside our M3 nicely. This car seat cost $550 and comes with 5 year warranty.

If you are interested, can check it out. Paiseh can't remember to much details as my wife decides to get Fedora instead.

Yup. Baby kingdom and baby hypermarket are the more popular ones to get "warehoused" priced baby car seats. I was using Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix(up to 1 year old or so only) on old car(Mitsubishi Colt Plus). Strangely it fitted well(rear facing) behind the driver seat. When i used rear facing on mz3, it couldnt fit that well until i adjusted the driver seat to a more upright position.

Both shops above do allow you to try on your car before you commit.

Luckily my son had outgrown the old car seat and needed a forward facing car seat. Bought a forward facing car seat and there are no issues anymore.

Otherwise i would be in a rather not so comfy driving posture with the rear facing setup.

If possible, do try out the rear facing car seat on the car before buying. Because, the lower you want to angle the baby car seat to a more recline position, which is usually recommended for new borns, the higher the tendency of the rear facing car seat to rest against the back of the driver seat.

Yes, do try to get a convertible car seat that supports new born to 4 years old.

Lol I regretted not doing so..

Btw, the Fedora C4 looks great! I didnt come across it while shopping for car seat. Pity i already bought the new car seat last weekend.. Otherwise it looks like a good option :)

Oh bro.... Perhaps I have not been clear.

Bro Hanzeng was saying he is putting his rear facing seat behind driver seat. I meant I am also thinking to put at the baby seat at the rear but behind the front passenger. Therefore my baby seat will be at the left of the car while Hanzeng car seat is on the right (behind driver). I am just wondering if there is any good reason to put behind driver?

For me, the reason I put on the left is because that is the ideal side to carry the baby in and out of the car, especially when the car stops on a busy road. Another reason is weight distribution in the car, I am heavier than my wife and hence would like the right side of the car gets more weight to balance out a bit.
