    1. Do you or how to auto-disable the iStop during parking?? It's useful during traffic lights etc, but when you are parking and need to maneuver fwd/bck continuously, it's a bit cumbersome sometimes...

    2. How to reduce the sensitivity of the auto-headlights? when driving during the day, if the car go in and out under a highway, ceiling or something, the lights will turn on and then a few seconds later turn off again when it is not under the highway or ceiling and then back again...

To auto disable iStop, a crude method is to use normal car batt... iStop will be disabled once it sensed the car batt is not compatible. haha... This is what I heard nia.... not tried and tested yet. And also I don't know if this will damage the car battery or not...

To reduce sensitivity of headlight, go to Home -> Setting -> Lighting Tab and change Headlamp sensitivity.... might not be word for word correct... was typing from my memory. I've changed it before. I set to Mid Low so that zoom past narrow underpass it won't turn on. But go into tunnel will still activate. Downside is sometimes sky damm dark and start to drizzle but light will take some time to switch on.

Click on the bottom left button, then click 'next page' to toggle between the pages... got 1 page will show you your iStop has boosted your drive by xx KM and how many trees have you helped to conserve. LOL

I think once you come out of the tunnel in a bright day, it will switch off immediately.

There is no way to auto disable the iStop unfortunately. The only way to disable it is to manually turn it off every single time we turn the ignition on. I am also still trying to live with it. It isn't as bad as the first week when I got the car now.

I have seen someone jammed the iStop button in with a tiny piece of folded paper. It worked for him.

Vossen made a lot nice wheels. They are quite expensive. You can find some replica Vossen in Singapore for a cheaper alternative. From afar they look quite identical. It all boils down to your budget.

Most people, including me, use 225/45/18 tyres. You can also use 215/45/18, which is the tyre size used by the 2.0L Mazda 3. A lot of people swear by Bridgestone GR100 because it generates low road noise. If you are willing to spend more, perhaps you can look into Michelin PS3.

    Hi Guys,

Will be getting my ride (Mazda 3 hatch) end this month.

Went down to a shop today and was talking about installing the bodykit.

Saw that there were two holes for the kit, i suppose its because of the two exhaust for 2.0l mazda 3. He mention about installing a "fake" exhaust on the other end.

Just a quick check. Does anyone actually did this??

How come urs is so fast?
I bought soul red deluxe also on 07 nov..till now still no news from AD nvr even ask me to pay down payment yet..

Maybe because i took the 2 bid guarantee COE package? Or maybe i got car trade in? Another possibility is that they earn more commission from my deal thru new car purchase and used car trade in? All i can say is that i had a very pleasant experience because my SA done a great job and she is very prompt with my smses.

Talking about freebies.. i think i got all that she can gave me.

1)Free in car cam. (No use for me cos i have existing iroad v7)

    2) Free extra 5 times servicing all the way to 60k servicing

    3) $1000 petrol shell vouchers (i exchanged it for 1k cash discount)

    4) car mat (cheapo de but ok since free.. )

    5) solar film (standard freebie)

    6) umbrella

    7) Full tank petrol (i LOL when i stupidly make this request and it was granted with no questions asked)

    8) Over trade value of old car

    9) Chio SA service (My SA should be one of the chio bus in ubi showroom, but having said that, if you get a lousy service but the SA is beautiful.. you are unlikely to bang table.. hahahaha)

Bro, u got your car already?

Anyway been driving for the past 1 mth and with 2 weeks outstationed, this M3 is an awesome car.

To start with, FC is low as compared to my previous Altis. At least 20% saving in fuel. Moving off may not be fast, but it all depends on your right foot. Once move upntp higher gearing, the car is ready to zoom off. Noisy, yes probably. But the sturdiness of the car absorbs noise and vibration well when going thru those speed strips. With a stiffer suspension, u can handle corners with at faster speed and feel safer.

However, due to the stiff suspension, i do feel its bumpy though.

Overall this is a good car. Jap made, but continental feel not only in the design, but also the drive.

Normally people get new car out of showroom.. they proceed to change rims.. but for me different case..

i drive into accessories shop immediately.. lol

    P_20151202_180114.jpg

Bloody hell.. External battery pack is more expensive than my iroad v7!! But thinking of it.. when i used my v7 on my old ride, it did killed a 6 months old battery even with power magic installed.. so dont play play with mazda battery.. told shop to intro me the best in the market.. they gave me their one and only product.. burnt a big hole in my pocket.. went home and researched and found out that the external battery pack is indeed popular in US and usually fixed for blackvue cams..

    P_20151202_173718.jpg

the installer told me this external battery pack has 2 versions.. smaller one can use for 20 hours and bigger one can use up to 48 hours.. so end up i took the bigger one.. and of cos.. bigger one costs more.. i hid it under the dashboard.. out of sight as it is usually installed it this way.. peace of mind now.. no void of warranty and car battery is not in risk.

That's all for today.. Grooming and rims searching hunt tomorrow.. busy day

We bought this too, on Saturday at Sitex, together with our Blackvue 2 channel cam. I have no idea if it's the higher or lower capacity because they only gave us 1 version but from your description, ours may be the lower version. Will go back and check the box.

I am currently using power magic too. Just curious, what cutoff voltage did you set?

Don't need cutoff if you're using ext batt pack. Once the batt pack is drained, there is no more power to the cam so the cam will shut off - it should not be taking anymore power from your car batt.

    I will think so too.

The external battery will need to charged once it is drained and that will probably be using the car battery.

Unless the external battery will only start to recharge when it reach a certain level. otherwise, I will think the recharging process will be on a daily basis. Then how will it help to save the battery life?

Understand that re ext battery pack.

Want to know abt power magic which prevents the battery from draining by shutting off system once preset voltage is reached. Wonder what voltage did he set it at.

Am using power magic for 1 yr +, didn't encounter any issues so far (touch wood). So, wondering why he had the problem, whether its faulty or if the voltage set is too low. This is simple setup for circuit cutoff, not much tech in it.

Nope... external batt pack is not normally connected to car batt. It doesn't make sense to connect batt pack to car batt anyway. It should be connected to ACC in fuse box, or directly from cig socket. Either way, it will only draw power from your car batt when you switch on ACC by pressing the Start/Stop button (twice if I'm not wrong) w/o stepping on your brake pedal, or when iStop kicks in. Once your engine starts running, the alternator will then be providing power to charge both your car batt and all other electrical accessories.

Find the istop pretty irritating during parking. It kills the engine while i shift to the reverse gear from drive mode most of the time. In the end, always off it during approach parking time.

if you spend enough effort, you can master the 'half brake' skill. haha. before your car comes to a complete stop, just ease off the brake pedal a bit will do. But then on slope will be harder cos you will naturally tend to depress brake more.

Haha... my 1st day I spent quite some time figuring it out as well... then next few days slowly realised some other way to find my way around....

You can click on Country, type S and select Singapore. From here onwards, you can skip the Town input and enter directly into the postal code, or street name. In this way, you can skip the irritating Town and not be restricted by it... I find it quite redundant anyway for the Town field... maybe its useful for other big countries but definitely not in SG. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the instructions bro. I would have given you a like but had given you recently so can't.

I find the GPS in the Mazda ride damn dumb. Hard to find if only have street name.

Haha... my 1st day I spent quite some time figuring it out as well... then next few days slowly realised some other way to find my way around....

You can click on Country, type S and select Singapore. From here onwards, you can skip the Town input and enter directly into the postal code, or street name. In this way, you can skip the irritating Town and not be restricted by it... I find it quite redundant anyway for the Town field... maybe its useful for other big countries but definitely not in SG. if you spend enough effort, you can master the 'half brake' skill. haha. before your car comes to a complete stop, just ease off the brake pedal a bit will do. But then on slope will be harder cos you will naturally tend to depress brake more.

Yup, it's a bit dumb sometimes lol. It prompts for special permission for some destinations and refuses to proceed without it.

Is there any update for the map? The current map isn't the most updated.

I have poor reception too.. Also on iRoad v9. But the problem shouldn't be from iRoad. I feedback during 1k servicing. Mazda say no problem found.. Has been living with it since.

Thats where Connected Service comes in... once you activated and connected to wifi, you can just click the "Local Search" and type any to search any address like typing in google search...

However my connected service only worked for one day even though supposed to have free 90days trial... luckily managed to saved some searched address as Favorites..

Guess it because our 4GB sdcard can only store a pre-fixed index of a limited list of address points with fixed formats that can be searched... while wifi allow it to taps into unlimited indexes and search formats...

But Once setup, it will auto connect to your phone once you start the car, like the bluetooth...quite seamless...

Next time whenever u turn on hotspots on your phone...it will auto connect... u can see the wifi strength on your lcd screen too..

Supposed to also show live traffic info on your navi....i did see some traffic incidents reported when it work that day...

But i just manage to used it to save some address that is not in sdcard into favorites for future use... like my home address postal # was not in the sdcard data haha...

Use the 'find places' option. I just type the address I need and if required, the gps will give me a series of options to pick from. It's worked well for me so far. I can even get the blk number of the address I need.

eg: for blk 446b, Jalan Kayu - I keyed in 'Jalan Kayu' and the mzd gave me a list of various Jalan Kayu addresses. I just need to scroll to 446b, Jalan Kayu and select.

Find the istop pretty irritating during parking. It kills the engine while i shift to the reverse gear from drive mode most of the time. In the end, always off it during approach parking time.

Don't step so hard on your brake. There's a sweet spot - about a 'half step' (pls try in a safe area first before doing this on the road in case you can't find it or can't get used to it and your car keeps moving - been working prefectly fine for me). This way you don't engage the iStop and your car is just stopped.

The iStop light will flash in GREEN on your dash but it's not an error (user manual pg 4-24). It just means you're not stepping hard enough - which is the whole point of this anyway.

On a different note, I recall some time back reading about the headlight washers and there weren't many responses. (I could be wrong and apologise in advance if this is repetitive).

To activate the headlight washers manually:

    1) headlights must be on (auto mode is also ok as long as they are on)

    2) flick the wiper lever inwards quickly twice (the windscreen and the headlights will be sprayed by their respective washers at the same time)

In Malaysia, along some roads, those fog lights are useful to lit up the area just in front of the car. Although the present headlights are adequate, having brighter lights would enhance safety.

Yeah in Malaysia. In SG its an offence to switch on the fog lamp. However the bumper sure looks nice with it there. [nod]

In Malaysia, along some roads, those fog lights are useful to lit up the area just in front of the car. Although the present headlights are adequate, having brighter lights would enhance safety.

Thanks to All Bros and Sis!!!

This thread is so informative and looks like to read this thread all over again when I get my new ride.

    [thumbsup]

To me, the fog lights are very useful... especially driving in Malaysia.

I just have it replaced to Philips X-tremeVision LED fog light at Autobacs

The bulb is able to fit H8/H11/H16. The cost for a pair (in a box) is $199/-.

Installation if i not mistaken is $30/-.

They access via the plastic cover underneath the fog light.
