I bought some stuff from Aliexpress for my Mazda 3. Got the mazdaspeed pedals as well as non-LED scuff plates.

Got them in the mail today. So, SIC here.

The pedals are not bad. It's something like what JDM has. Only thing I notice the brushed metal, though is nice, has a bit of defects. Low QC basically. But, being at the pedal area, I can live with it.

Haven't installed the scuff plates. Will do it tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon.

Hi all, I have a 2014 Mazda 3 Standard and am planning to install fog lights. Anyone has done the installation, or knows where to do it and how much it cost?

You can go to JDM Autocare. Some bros here have gone there to install their fog lights. They can advise you on the price.

I also bought mine from China. I agree that the QC is a bit terrible. The rubber portion of my foot rest didn't stick well to the metal portion. I had to superglue them together.

Scuff plate can get from JDM. Includes installation. Good price imo. 10 years ago I bought my Honda City scuff with light (front only) at a higher price than what JDM has for both front and back (of course times have changed and the tech for such things is more commonplace now)

Been driving SKXxxxxSeries M3 Sedan for a month. Mileage at 2200km currenty. Fuel consumption shows 8.1/100km and I think it was very bad compared to other users here. I realized road noise coming from the rear is really noisy. It sounded hollow. I don't think it's wheel bearing and uneven tyre thread. Changed the stock tyres to Goodyear Eager F1A2 (215/45/R18) which is definitely better then stock? Also unsure why there's water on the left side of the boot. It's like leakage from somewhere but I could not detect. Anybody have the same issues? I'll raise this to the service adviser.

If i can recall correctly, one of the bro here using Gdyear F1 and mentioned very noisy...
So far no leakage,... inside the boot? Then might be the rubber seal not properly seated....
Mine was the sunroof seal not done well, i dyi pry and settled myself kekeke... It was pointed out by my sharp eye detailer during wax.

IMO, profile of 45 should be more noisy compare to stock.

Mine 17" rims with Dunlop SportMaxx RT 225/50/R17 read at 7.6/100km (13.15km/l) compare to stock rims and Toyo tyre read at 6.4/100km (15.62km/l).

What did ur SA said for water spotted on left?

I'm also using Goodyear f1a2 with profile 245/40/18.. Like airplane landing... But used to it already... My current fuel consumption is 7.0/100km.. Let the engine run in more.. Fuel consumption will decrease

Car can only last 10 years..wife definitely more than that.

U mean she drove and scratch against the wall? I will suggest wrap..."cleaner" and re-do-able.
Long time ago, i brought my car for spraying/touch up and in the end the whole car was coated with fine spray particles... Maybe the environment, i guess...

Sorry, what do you mean by "wrap, cleaner and re-do-able?

Sorry, what do you mean by "wrap, cleaner and re-do-able?

Oh, meaning neat and clean in a way that just wrap (like gift wrapping) and no need to respray... Imagine doing the respray 5 or 6 times ;) and sanding down the old paint if getting thicker , doing putty , etc...

For wrap, the damaged wrap can be tear off and redo easily again and again and fast, meaning no need wait for paint to dry :) quite straight forward :)

OK, I have put in everything.

Pedals are okay. 3M tape for the foot rest, replaced the stock brake rubber cover with the mazdaspeed one, and wrapped the accelerator with the mazdaspeed one.

Not much to say about the foot rest except the tape is holding for now. The brake rubber cover wasn't made that well... I can wrap the top and bottom parts onto the physical pedal and it is firmly in place. But the sides don't wrap around the physical pedal. I'll be watching it more closely to see if it falls off but I don't think it will. Accelerator is a nice fit.

As for the scuff plates, it was a bit of a challenge putting them on. Note of warning: the 3M tapes are DARN STICKY! Make sure the plates are placed properly before you press the plates down hard on the 3M tapes. Other than that, not much issue. The door frames for the rear doors are a roundish so you gotta find just the right spot to make sure the flat-surface scuff plates stick properly onto the door frame.

Overall, I paid around SGD 40 for the pedals and SGD 43 for the scuff plates. Can't complain too much.

Thks bro! This without the led light... Instead, i have installed the led strip interior light (4pcs).
** From amazon search under : Opt7 led interior
When door open, is white and when closed u can select the color u want... Quite fun kekeke..
I got the "pro" to help me contact the cables instead of using the cigarette socket.

So when u in mood for Fast and Furious, u can switch to the "ah beng" mood where the led will change colors w the beat!!

Oh I thought it was with LED lights. Ok, your scuff plates are nicer! Haha! It doesn't hang off the edge like mine. Reminds me of my Mugen scuff plates I had on my previous Honda Jazz. Where did you get yours btw?

I'm trying to go with 'subtle' this time with my Mazda 3. My Honda Jazz had interior lights, 4200K lights, aftermarket exhaust, stickers (1 sticker = 1 horsepower haha)...

So far only done rims, scuff plates and pedals. Gonna change my interior bulbs to white, and then, maybe.... paint my brake calipers to yellow. Then I'm done!

i understand some of you have free servicing up to 60km.

    but i wasn't so fortunate.

And with the agreement warranty of 3 years with the AD? may i know what is covered under this warranty?

I have been checking out the pricing of servicing my Mazda3 in JB authorized service center instead.

Any bro here can advise any potential "con" by doing that? of cos the "pro" is some saving on the pocket... ie, 20k servicing is about RM 420...

    Appreciate the advice.

I asked the same question when i collect my ride.
Why not three buttons coz i saw other are three. My SE say Sedan three, hatchback two... ok lor...

Sedan 3 buttons in the key fob is because remote boot release.

HB do not have remote boot release. Hence 2 buttons in the key fob

Understand that TEK will not cover the warranty.

But do anybody know what is covered under the warranty??

What is covered under the warranty that can be compelling for me to stay with TEK?

I'm sure every bro here has a pricing list of the servicing for the different mileage...

i, myself have a 3yr warranty with TEK when i sign the sale agreement.

Yup, you won't want the hatchback to hit passerby when they happened to be too close when u open the hatch remotely. Worst still, bang on wall or pillars.

No la bro, each design has it's beauty. Urs nice too and able to protect the edges well. I got from Amazon actually.

Hahaha i like what u said... One sticker = one horsepower!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!

This M3 is a real "Mod-able" beauty, trust me, u won't want to stop at there kekekeke.... :b

Haha hey, for a 80 bhp GD1, I need every horsepower I could get! Spoon windshield sticker, so big, maybe 2 horsepower :P

Sigh, being "mod-able" is not really what I wanted to hear. It's a really slippery slope!!

No wonder I found your nick familiar. Must have came across in FJC or GE club. I'm also trying the subtle path this time round.

Hey man, yes, I was also using 'overmars' as my nick in FJC. After Marc Overmars. Speedie and I are big Gunners fans...

FJC was full of poison. Was very active also but now, quite a deadtown. A lot of the laojiaos all left the forum. Spent a lot of Vitamin M on my previous baobei. So, subtle this time. At least, until I cannot tahan anymore...

White, especially the seats are never easy to maintain... My previous car is cream colour seat... Very nice to be frank , than black , but needs regular cleaning and conditioning.

Light coloured shows the dirtiness and force u to clean,
Black colour and make u lazy and no need clean for months or even years... hahaha... But imagine the dirtiness eekkkkk!!!!

Regarding AUTO-LOCK function - I think we discussed the topic before, just to double confirm my understanding is AUTO lock not possible in the current MZ3 although there are several pages discussed about this function in themanual. Right?

If its the case should we feedback this to LTA given that its an important safety feature which is missing or rather overlooked in SG version. Your thoughts pls....

Firstly, I think LTA wouldn't be bother to entertain, because it is the authorised dealer who decides the features unless LTA specified certain features as compulsory.

Secondly, no auto function, driver can press the central locking button to lock.

Forget abt Goodyear F1. Its known to be noisy for decades. Pay a bit more and go for Michelin PS3 or Continental tires.

Apologies for my earlier reply. Mazda 3 doesn't have a master central locking button located along the power window switches panel. Suppose locking the lock switch at the driver's interior door handle should lock all four doors as suggested by one, otherwise it is really strange that Mazda omitted an internal central locking function.

    Quote From the car manual:

For cars with door lock button (not in Singapore)
    How To: Auto lock/unlock function

WARNING (If you disable this option completely)

Do not pull the inner handle on a front door:
Pulling an inner handle on a front door while the vehicle is moving is dangerous. Passengers can fall out of the vehicle if a front door accidentally opens, which could result in death or serious injury.

    Factory settings:

    - When the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h (12 mph), all doors and the lift-gate lock automatically.
    - When the ignition is switched off, all doors and the lift-gate unlock automatically.

These functions can also be disabled so that they do not operate.

    NOTE:

Auto lock/unlock function setting change using door-lock switch
The doors and the lift-gate can set to lock or unlock automatically by selecting any one of the functions from the following list and using the driver's door-lock switch on the interior to perform the setting change as indicated in the procedure which follows.

    Function Number and it's Function

    1. The auto door-lock function is disabled.

    2. All the doors and the lift-gate lock automatically when the vehicle speed is about 20 km/h (12 mph) or more.

    3. All the doors and the lift-gate lock automatically when the vehicle speed is about 20 km/h (12 mph) or more. All the doors and the lift-gate unlock when the ignition is switched from ON to ACC or Off.

    4. (Automatic trans-axle vehicles only)
When the ignition is switched ON and the shift lever is shifted from park (P) to any other gear position, all the doors and the lift-gate lock automatically.

    5. (Automatic trans-axle vehicles only)
When the ignition is switched ON and the shift lever is shifted from park (P) to any other gear position, all the doors and the lift-gate lock automatically.

When the shift lever is shifted to park (P) while the ignition is switched ON, all the doors and the lift-gate unlock automatically.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Programming details

    1. Stop the vehicle and close all the doors.

    2. Switch the ignition ON.

    3. Press and hold the lock side of the driver's door-lock switch within 10 seconds of switching the ignition ON, and make sure a beep sound is heard about eight seconds afterwards.

    4. Referring to the auto lock/unlock function setting list, determine the function number for the desired setting and press the unlock side of the driver's door-lock switch only in the amount of the selected function number (Ex. If you select function 2, press the unlock side of the switch only 2 times).

    NOTE
There are only a total of five auto lock/unlock settings available for automatic trans-axle vehicles, and three for manual trans-axle vehicles. Be sure to press the unlock side of the driver's door-lock switch the correct number of times according to the selected function number. If the switch is mistakenly pressed six times on an automatic trans-axle vehicle or four times on a manual trans-axle, the procedure will be invalidated. If this occurs, start the procedure from the beginning.

    5. Three seconds after the function setting has been changed, a beep sound will beep in the amount of the selected function number.

    NOTE

    Hi All,

    i got two questions here:

    1. A problem of my M3 is bothering me these days. It happened twice, both when i was going uphill (not too steep though), i press accelerator to try to maintain speed but then couldn't feel responses from engine, engine speed maintain low around 1k+ and i start losing speed. i am sure i have pressed the accelerator hard enough. Any ideas what's causing this?

    2. I went for 2nd service (5,000km) some time ago and thought would need to change engine oil, but then was told only need to change oil at 10,000km. Is it true?

    Thanks!

    Hey
Hello, I have a question too. May I check if it is possible to "talk" to the car if u have the lcd installed by ad in ur standard mz3?

I tried saying "help" after I pressed the voice command button but no response. It seems to serve as a mute button now.

Bro with deluxe mz3, could u "talk" to the car? Or only via mzdconnect?

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi, where is this and how much you pay for car wash?

I would like to know also. It looks like a proper car washing. There are times when I am lazy to wash my car :p

Yes you cant "talk" and it serves as a mute button. Think your "end" call button should work. My "end" call button doesn't work due to software according to the installer.I installed my LCD outside though.
