Does TEK have w30 oil in their svc package? If not, will they allow to bring own w30?

Based on MY AD mazda, SG mz3 2.0 is the highest of 4 trims. Hence, its uncomfortably close to lower spec mz6. If SG had the level 2-3 trim of mz3 2.0, price would have been easier to swallow.

Btw, where does most of the weight of mz3 come from. The under chasis? Coz when i knock knock here n there, it felt similar to that of sylphy/altis.

Nothing to be alarmed. You can switch it off using the Mazda Connect. Go to the maintenance page and there is an option to turn off the servicing reminder.

There are specific conditions for iStop to work. Need to check the manual for the full set of conditions.

The general rule of thumb is that your air con must not be turned too low, and you must have driven for a while for the batteries to be charged up.

U mean the one second when all warning lights are turned on after engine start?

The button is just to toggle it off or on (page 4-21)

The istop yellow sign didn't appear from Friday evening till Saturday morning. Suddenly Saturday afternoon it appears back liao.

    Looks ok since then.

Zcold: No I don't mean all the warning lights that turn on after engine start. I meant after engine start, by right after 1min or so, the istop yellow button will appear. In my case, it didn't appear from Friday evening to Saturday morning.

This happens to me as well. 2 usual suspects:

    1) Is your air con temp set too low? If too low, sometimes the istop will not kick if the cabin temp is not low enough.

    2) Maybe your ride is too short for istop to kick in. And I think that is also the same reason as 1), meaning your cabin is not yet cool enough.

Dont worry, happens to my car too. To see this if istop is working properly, set around temp to around 25. The istop will start to kick in after 2 min of driving.

Drove to KL for holiday and found this shop fixing M3 auto lock using OBD. Have to settle for the demo set at a lower price of RM$128 w/o GST (~S$44), as they ran out of stock. Not an easy job as they fixed one wire to the car from the OBD device and jumper connect another two wires at the passenger side as well as the rear.

So now my M3 will auto lock when I engage the drive shaft to D or N. And unlock when I push the lever to P.

Those that will drive to KL and are interested can make an appointment with them to avoid out of stock scenario like me. Almost came back empty handed. Ha ha. They claimed to be the only shop knowing how to fix the OBD on new Mazda 3 as one of their share holder drives a M3 too, so they can test it out on his car initially.

Now my car alarm is connected to the car horn too. They claimed that the original alarm is very soft.. I didnt try to activate the alarm before hand, so not very sure. But after they fix the OBD, the car alarm is using the carn horn, very loud.. ha ha

Correct me if I am wrong.... Type pressure recommendation by Mazda is independent of rim size?

I on stock rims. Recently, I pumped higher pressure. I noticed FC is higher during acceleration due to greater centrifugal mass and probably less traction. However, travel on highway is very good, lower FC but the offset is need to brake longer to bring car to a stop. So if you are putting in more pressure into your tyres, drive safe NOT reckless!

Yes it will reduce to 230 automatically. But try to head to the pump when the tyres are relatively cold. Which means not after an expressway drive.

I found that some pumps take a long time to release the tyre pressure so if you can't be bothered to wait can just use something or your finger to press the pin and deflate it manually then use the pump to inflate back

This is correct for HB model. I pumped 280 and 320 for front and back respectively.

Can the settings be controlled by mzdconnect?

Nope, its control via the OBD device, not throught mzconnect.

Please pm me the name and address. thanks.

    PMed.

I thought this can be done locally as well.

I didnt search thoroughly in SG. Happen to see this Malaysia workshop posting on youtube on M3 OBD lock. Maybe u can help to share the local shop that fix OBD for new mazda. Then others that are keen dont need to fix at KL. :-)

You might want to ensure that the odb dongle isn't 'always on'. I know most obd scanners are always on and may drain the battery.

Not sure how much power it will take. Will monitor and update if there are anomaly.

check with u ah, if my 1 is at 250 tyre pressure, can i pump it down to 230 in e petrol kiosk? paiseh only pump up never do downwards before which i believe is possible lol

Can. I try before. It will regulate the pressure down to the set value.

Bro, u know if TEK finds out about splicing the wires, they will void warranty right?

I have been pestering TEK why no auto lock door for a long time, in the end to no valid. I will also install this once my warranty period is over.

I added a connector to the OBD wire. So i can remove the OBD device when i send in for servicing and connect back when done. Ha

Haha I always thought I was the weird one following these high numbers.

There was this time a kind petrol kiosk uncle help me fix the pump and offered to key in the pressure for me and was surprised when I said 270 (usually 3 in car).

My experience on tyre pressure - 1st 3 mth on 260 and I realised the tyre wear mark is far away from arrow indicators on the tyre side. Then I tried 230 and feel this is just nice. Wear mark is nearer to the arrow indicators... overall more comfort and less bumpy ride.

    Hi all,

Time flies and its almost 1 full year of driving this car. Check with you guys how much insurance are you all paying?

AIG just sent me the renewal for 1200+, I checked out Aviva website and its possible for a plan at slightly less than 700. Difference in excess at 600 for AIG and 2000 for Aviva. Rather tempted to just take the Aviva its almost half price, what do you guys think?

It's an easy decision. The money you save can bring your family for a good meal or add more poison. but be mindful, it's better to include AD workshop enable insurance, becos of the 3 years or 5 years warranty for your new ride.

But if you really like to continue with AIG my advise is wait for their last minute call, they will offer another 10%. Or try calling them to ask for the 10 % discount.

I have a repair shop I used to go to for my previous cars, its at alexandra industrial park, shop looks skimpy but I find the workmanship, colour tone and price very reasonable. Let me know if you want the recommendation, I can go dig out the name card.

TEK will not care who insured our car. He is only interested will he get paid if you send in your car for repair. That's why you need to op for repair at TEK option when choosing your new insurance, if one day you want to claim your own insurance for repair at TEK. Most insurance will have this option but likely under premium plan. I'm using tenet sompo now, abt $650-$680.(mid 30yr, 50%ncd protection, 5% no demerit point and 5% agent discount)

Hi nick, I remember we got our car on the same day. Seems like we have similar fate. Hai... Going to get tek to quote me later in the morning to see how it goes cos bluwel quote me roughly around 500-600 plus (based on photo only cos they are closed when I contacted them). yah hor....so qiao. btw did bluwel tell u they can provide courtesy car when ur car is in their workshop but subject to availability?
that was what they quote be n cost of repair is also similar to urs $600.
i got another workshop from a fellow mazda bro also at same location as bluwel but quote me half the price n half the downtime(provided he call me today that car is ready for collection-which he promised).
    will review the workmanship later.

my advice is that if you can wait, do respray at TEK.. i just did a respray on my bonnet due to deep scratches & dent as I accidentally scratched my bonnet against the metal joint/screw of carpark's EPS barrier :a-bang:

before deciding to do it at TEK, i checked out a few outside workshops including a popular one like GreenSpray & 2 others at Autobay. Some quoted me $400, some $250 , or even as cheap as $150. all outside workshops told me I could collect my car after 1 day.

went to TEK & they quoted me $300 for panel beating & respray (a surprise to me as i thought AD always charge more). and it would take 4 days. decided to do there. their workmanship is solid. they said it took 4 days (compared to just 1 day for outside workshop) as they need to go through a proper process (ie, wait for a layer completely dry before applying another coat, etc..). And I would trust the paint they use more than outside ones.. happy with the end result, my bonnet is as new as ever (dent disappear of course).. the best is that they give you 1 year warranty on the paint.. if got bubbles, 2 tones ... u can come back & they fix it for you.

the only downside with TEK is that I need to book appointment 1 month in advance , their bodywork department fully booked.. but worth the wait !

Hai... In the end I still go for tek cos they say damage is extensive (flattening may still not fully repair it) and the front bumper got scratched and headlamp sprayer damaged. Claim insurance cos replacement of doors, fenders and bumper costs a lot and since I have 0 ncd, might as well claim it with the rise in premium for next year (small amount as compare to full damage amount).

Bad thing is that I have to live with it for another 1 month... It's a sore eye..

Agree with you, I was looking at our Mz3 front grill, only the original car plate location is "seal" up on the grill itself, and the rest of the top and bottom area is "open through" for air flow. So shifting the car plate to the bottom kind of reduces the "open through" area for proper air flow.. I'll give this a pass too.

Went to the TEC showroom in ubi today..had a chat with the SE, and am most probably gonna take up the MZ3 deal.
    Few questions though,
Issit worth going for the deluxe?
Believe it comes with 16" rims, do you think I could lobby an upgrade? Anyone tried before?
What 'freebies' or deal could I typically get from the SE before signing on the dotted line?

I got the standard model but I kinda regret not getting the deluxe model. To each his own I guess. I traded in the stock 16 inch rims for a new set of 16 inch sports rims on my first day of collection. Fuel consumption is one of my main priorities so I have no plans to upgrade my rim size for now.

Solar film and in car camera are standard free items. Try bargaining for extra free servicing or warranty.

Had the same dilemna 3 weeks ago. In the end went for the deluxe non guaranteed package . The deal breaker was the local lcd screen . On first impression , does not look reliable in the longer run . The rest such as bi xenon lights , rain sensor , keyless entry , command control , electric driver seats , extra airbags , front sensors , fog lights , cruise control are great addition and justifies the price difference imho . That said , saw last sat papers with the Nissan sylphy and Toyota altis and below 100k . Would have been a difficult choice if I had known about the promo earlier .

Hi pple, just sharing my experience with the new Mazda i got.

Just got my Mazda 3 2.0L soul red at a good price at $109888 (after all the discounts and using own insurance). Signed on the dot without test drive

Free 2 channel car cam, 1 year road tax, 3 years warranty

Was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 previously and I am totally enjoying my new ride. The pickup for the new Mazda 3 2L is good and relatively good fuel efficiency. The driving experience is totally refreshing comparing to the old ride which i had traded in.

another thing..there are really a lot of Mazda 3 Soul Red on the road..

(there are other 2 in my hdb estate car park)

Was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 previously and I am totally enjoying my new ride. The pickup for the new Mazda 3 2L is good and relatively good fuel efficiency. The driving experience is totally refreshing comparing to the old ride which i had traded in.

another thing..there are really a lot of Mazda 3 Soul Red on the road..

(there are other 2 in my hdb estate car park)

Was 109,888? Just signed today? or in Feb?
