Istop is activated. The car engine jerked after 10 seconds or so. Heeded forumners advice to off it during 1st 15min of drive in case it spoils some kind of engine spark or something. But the problem persist whenever i brake hard. Shld i worry?

Do all of u wait for the blue flag light in e car to go off b4 u start e car in e morning?

Better raise excessive vibrations asap to TEK. Usually istop de-activated for me then will cause low freq humming and some vibrations, Have since tompang with another bro in raising this issue with TEK and waiting their satisfactory answer too.

    ---------------

Personally, after the revving of the initial cold start, i will let it sit for another 15 seconds before slowly engaging the gears and rolling out of MSCP with minimal throttle. Usually the blue light will be off once i exit the gantry.

Thanks bros for your detailed explanations!!

So if the standard version has no MZDconnect, how does the commander knob work? Can you control the infotainment system similarly?

Standard version does not have a commander knob although you can get a third party (genuine mazda installer from what I understand) add-on. Very affordable at a few hundred dollars but I don't know how it integrates with the third party HU. I drive a deluxe btw.

These are the two models that TEK give away as their 'freebies'. Like most drivers here (I'm guessing), I went to a workshop and changed it to an iRoad front and back. The blaupunkt is now sitting at home. Wish TEK gave away better cameras like Honda's Blackvue front and back.

I asked the TEK mechanic about the blue light too... he said just ignore wor. No need to wait for it to go off.

Once rpm drop below 1K its good to move off. Don't waste petrol idling.

I asked the TEK mechanic about the blue light too... he said just ignore wor. No need to wait for it to go off.

I am also thinking of that. Since wiring for the Blaupunkt is done by TEK, i just change the camera so no warranty should be voided ma. Right? Animist of the car cameras now use mini usb.

Its a close system, usually no need to top up on our own. They usesFL22 longlife coolant that can last up to 5yrs before the next change.

can we opt out the free car camera and get some form of cash rebate? Like buying our desire dashcam like "thinkware X500" and carecell battery and pass to TEK to install before you collect the car, can we do it this way?

Any bros here done it this way? Cos i find it very mafan/wasted if you were to change to your desire dashcam after you get your car, then the free dashcam given by TEK will become white elephant..

TEK will not install dash cams that are not given by the SE. You can try and get cash from your SE should he give you the dash-cam as a freebie.

For a rear end collision, your NCD definitely won't be affected unless the other party can prove that it was your fault which is very unlikely.

yeah agree hatuah! as shown, not saying i am perfect but definitely his fault ba.

My friend's ride is very minor but he is also knocked by some one else and its not his fault. Car is below 3 year old you can claim new parts.

TEK kept saying they are waiting for the other insurance company's reply or something thus the delay. Luckily his damage is rather minor so he can live with it till TEK confirm the date for the bumper replacement.

    1. Battery has to be in good state of charge.

    2. Engine has to be warmed up.

    3. Steering wheel cannot be too much off center (can't remember maybe <15%)

    4. Car cannot be on slope

    5. Capacitor has to be charged, via the iEloop. Usu if fully charged can get upto 2 mins.

    6. Won't work after you done century sprint, maybe related to pt 5.

may have missed out other factors.

Hatchback has higher roof, shark fin's antenna, but smaller boot.

Sedan has remote boot open button on the key fob. And this sedan's boot open button is on the underside of the boot lid - like a hatchback - so there's no lever at the driver's seat.

    Hatchback :

    1. give you better flexiblity in terms of loading

    2. they are hot.....that why they are called hot hatches. [bounce1]

    3. they are dearer than sedan

    4. Easier to park due to the "lack" of backside

    5. Exhaust pipes are visible whereas sedan pipes are hidden in the bumper.

    Hatchback :

    1. give you better flexiblity in terms of loading

    2. they are hot.....that why they are called hot hatches. [bounce1]

    3. they are dearer than sedan

    4. Easier to park due to the "lack" of backside

    5. Exhaust pipes are visible whereas sedan pipes are hidden in the bumper.

There is a small issue with point 3 (could just be personal preference). Being a hatch, you need to be careful at some multi-storey carparks - they have a overhanging fence at the rear of each lot (to prevent things from upstairs dropping onto the car below). These fences are not detectable by the reverse sensor or camera since they are ABOVE the car. I have seen a few cars backing right up to the fence and denting their roof. Some are due to the driver opening the boot lid and it hits the fence as it goes up. Just something for HB owners to take note of. Cheers guys (and gals).

I just booked deluxe non-g package for the existing stock.

Papago 360 is the model they are giving out.

Second top used esso extra ($1.8/l). Fuel eff around 8.5l/100km so far. Hmmm...

I also use Esso fuel. Feel it gives a better FC over Shell. Shell will give a smoother ride.

same here..being using esso since i got my mazda3 on 1st march. all other configuration relate to fc are kept constant.
    1st 3pump with esso98
    fc average 7.7l/100km

    4th to current 7th pump
    switch to esso95
    fc average 7.5l/100km

conclusions: esso95 cheaper n works the same as esso98.

I was at ubi for my 10k servicing. The customer service say as long any modification done to the wiring, warranty void.

Car dealers are very sensitive to any negative publicity.

If the problem is mechanical, and you have made modifications to your sound system, does that sound logical to void the warranty?

By Mazda standard, if you service at any authorised Mazda service centre, in any country, the warranty should not be void.

The Customer Service is simply giving a simple answer to cover all, or else it will receive lots of questions about whether this or that would void the warranty. As it also does not have control over how things are installed, the easiest way is to say it will void the warranty.

But when it comes to specific matter, it couldbe a different story.

Anyone facing that issue and thinks that he / she has been unfairly dealt with, should bring the matter up. We can even do a crowd funding to take it up in court. The dealer must be able to prove that the wiring or modifications caused the problem.

If u ask AD will say void warranty. However, so many people here have upgraded the audio system including me. I think its important to do it by a reputed installer to ensure all is well.

Yeah. Thats what the SA told me. The best part is i asked him about wheels and he said aftermarket wheels is not approved by Mazda. So the weight and blah blah blah might affect the drive and braking of the ride. This will affect the brakes and also the engine.

Hi bros, been driving my MZ3 for about 1 month so far. Getting around 13.5km/l. Still pretty far from the fuel consumption on paper.

And one more thing that I noticed is that there is a slight vibration at my foot area whenever my vehicle is idling at traffic lights without iStop. Is this normal for a brand new car? I don't recall having this vibration when i first collected the car.

  • 19 April 2016 - 10:03 AM

The vibrations when iStop is stopped is normal. It shouldn't be there but most if not all of us, Mazda 2 included, also felt that. You take a look at your rpm during idling. It moves up and down and it shouldn't be that way. Obce iStop is activated and not kicked in during idling, the rpm is also stable.

Go to one motoring and login with sing pass.
Go to vehicle hub, and choose last option.
After chassis number, there is one field for manufacturing year.

I tried the vin decoder, but it can't decode mine, and say it's manufactured in 1986!!!!

I guess if ur chassis number starts with JM6, it means manufactured in Japan 2016.
