2014 Mazda 3 part 62

Need help...can i mix 95 (topup in singapore and left with half tank aft traveling back frm Pagoh) with 97 (from Malaysia shell) frm Malaysia shell station.

Why 97? Due to all 95 pump spoil...strange huh...

do we need to shift to neutral when applying Istop (monitor tell me to do so)

No problem with mixing. I go to Malaysia often. So most of the time I fill with 97. But where V-Power Racing is available, I would fill with that.

Most PETRONAS stations along the highway stock only 95. So selecting Shell will give you more options.

Why can't pump 95? Then it is ok to mix 95 with V power??

Outsideof JB you can pump 95. No problem.

Share some more pic of the twin exhaust.

Wow... Swee lah! Your car is nowofficially the most-modded car in the thread here. heh. Twin-exhaust looks damm cool!

I installed the front n back camera, tested and managed to capture the back too if senses motion. Hope it helps! Do remember to install an external battery pack so battery can last and monitor during parking ;)

Care to share which battery pack you are using? I'm using Anypower T Plus Power (15600mAH). But even with such high capacity, it can only last 1 overnight of recording. Perhaps its partiallydue to my carpark facing hdb blk and have rather high traffic of human and vehicle, coupled with rain these days thus the recording is quite heavy even at timings like 3, 4am.

Naise! Are those tips only or a full end pipe?

If it's a full lta approved exhaust system I'm gonna get it man. Told myself to leave this car stock but I think it's in my blood. Can't stop thinking of it. :/

These twin exhaust tips are like those on Amy Yip. I.e. Expensive but enhanced to serve no purpose other than looks.

They are welded to the body of the car but the original exhaust is untouched. They are cosmetic only. Those who want to know the shop name feel free to drop me pm, I will be most glad to share.

Yours really not that bad. Have a friend who had worse scuff on his front bumper and it looks back to stock after some scratch remover.

mazda 3 paint v thin. a little scratch can see metal. thks anyway :)

It's perfectly fine o mix different octane patrols and even different Brands of fuel. The difference between 95' 98 and v-power is the addictive so used. The power companies also do do barter trade of their petrol so no harm done.

Why can't pump 95? Then it is ok to mix 95 with V power??

Frankly other than bit stiffer on steering, and hashier ride, i dont find much diff on pull off and acceleration. In fact i thought it felt faster. Haa.. I gotten the OZ leggera with Mich PSS 5 rubber just in case any interested.

    Two questions

    1) Anyone turn on the fog lights? I usually switch it off and have the headlight as auto. Wondering any benefit to turn on the fog lights

    2) Sometimes I forgot where I park my car in multi storey carpark. My old car has an alarm system to help me locate the car. Anyone has any idea if Mazda 3 has similar feature to help locate car?

    Thanks.

Anyone know what can we install LTA approved twin exhuast? Or can we install the original 2.0L M3 exhuast? Willthat infringed with LTA rules? Thks.

    dual_performance_Muffler_Back_View.jpeg?

Having twin exhaust will reduce the exhaust back pressure as compared to one exhaust and increase power + improve fuel consumption. Right?

I have seen 19" fitting really well on M3 online, but I thk it might be overkill for 1.5l, or you might need a super lightweight rim.

In fact I'm loving the 'pipeless'design. Myprevious ride Latio has a problem with low exhaust and will kenna those kerb/wheel stopper at parking lots. Got once met with a minor accident someone kissed me from behind and that car also impacted my exhaust pipe. Ended up the whole exhaust assemblycame loose... After repair is ok but after a few years you can start to hear metal squeaking sound when you go over hump or uneven surfaces. damm sian one.

The wait line is not that bad if you are able to go at odder hours. Most of the earliest time slots are usually taken up cos people would prefer to drop off their car before heading to work. I had originally gotten a queue of barely a week.

The battery should not be affected if there is an external power source as it does not tap into the car batt anymore once the engine is off.

Me too, I bought front and back cam plus extra battery from Wow gadgets during Sitex over the weekend. Installation done by their Authorised installer yesterday and they hit the battery pack in the compartment between driver and passenger seat. Very neat but hope won't have problem when changing the battery.

Luckily you managed to persuade them to change a new batt for u FOC! But I feel that even if you may get away this time round, they will have a record already... so next time if your batt fails prematurely again, they will surely fault you for your cam, even tho if its really a faulty car batt to begin with...no matter what, please keep us updated! :)

Just curious... did u use any devices like power magic or discharge prevention device to prevent your car batt from going flat? connecting 2 cam to your car batt is rather taxing on the batt... I thought it will be better to connect rear cam to ACC and only front cam to car batt cos if you reverse park, normally rear cam won't capture anything impt so its a waste of battery juice during parking. it's also impt to see how much you drive on the road everyday so you won't end up frequentlydischarging your car batt to a level which is too low for batt life.

Yeah I argued that the SE told me to get it installed myself without prempting me about battery issues.. I got the thinkware f750 was supposed to have some auto cut off function .. I set it at 12V .. I drive Everyday about 50km.. Just happen I didn't drive for a day and it happened.. So when they told me about the batt failure I asked them for a solution .. But they refused to commit this time round I think they smart also.. So I asked a leading question like if I used external batt for cam will it prevent.. The guy replied yes then Tarik back say don't recommend parking mode etc.. New batt I noticed that the charging of the ieloop bar become very much faster than before.. So I guess the cam really drained the batt

For dash cams, it's always best to
buy & hook in a battery discharge prevention device like this LUKAS LK290:

    http://m.ebay.ph/itm...312?_mwBanner=1

It can prevent the batt discharge by blocking power to the dash cam if the voltage drops below a configured value or if the configured time has elapsed.:)

A good read about batt discharge prevention... the voltage you set it depedant on the temperature as well...

    https://dashcamtalk....rge-prevention/

1 more point to note is that our Q85 battery is supposed to have better resistance to deep cycling so the above article is meant more for those normal lead acid battery which deep cycling will shorten its life... But as what Isaac is experiencing, I think frequent deep cycling of Q85 might also shorten its life. but it really depends on your usage/driving pattern. Hard to guage how deep the batt has cycled.

We were told yesterday by the installer for our dash cam that luckily we didn't buy the battery regulator because our car has iStop and every time it stops, the dash cam will stop recording, especially at traffic lights, and if really unlucky to be hit, won't have any recording to help as additional "witness", defeating the purpose of the dash cam.

I am using the dual cam and my set up is to only use the external batt. So far, managed to squeeze juice to monitor in parking mode overnight... This is the killer if using the car battery.
So far ok still (touch wood)... ... The external batt can last around 10-15 hrs (imagine the drain if i tap to the car batt. everyday...wow!)

I'm using iRoad front and rear with a carecell batt pack. So far so good for three weeks. Battery pack flattened out for the first time this morning - car was parked for 17 hours since I didn't go out yesterday. Cam also switched off. The cam should only be drawing power from the batt pack and not from the car batt.

Cam backup batt will not work for me. I travel at least once a month for up to 2 weeks.

But, my colleague also travel a lot and he DIY installed his own cam and backup battery. Usually he will be away for a week. Drive on weekends, and away for a week again. So far no problem for his M3 though.

Using iroad v9 n carecell ext batt. The time spend on the road is little... Sometimes parked for a day or two....
I think to make things simple is that after a 30-40mins driving , u get a 10-15hrs juice to power the DUAL cam once parked... maybe 20 hrs for single cam... After that, the car is free to get vandalised or knocked hahahaha.....and the monkey will get away without getting caught on the dash cam. Lol!

Of course u can expand the number of ext batt to stretch further....

I think for iroad... Best setup is not to touch the car batt and use the parking mode if without any ext batt installed.
This morning, my cam motion sensor actually pick up the busy road traffic from afar and keeps on recording... i thought i have parked at a deserted no traffic spot .... Lol!

Sorry for the confusion, just to be more detailed... if you are tapping from ACC or car batt, you need to tap from fuse box. That's the correct way to install. What I meant is that to completely deny AD to void warranty, just connect the cam or batt pack directly to cig socket. However for this method, it will mean the power source will be cut when you off engine. Therefore the batt pack needs to be able to charged fast enough and have a capacity large enough to power your cam for parking mode.
