Read a lot of comparisons between a full loaded Mz3 vs base Audi A3. And in the comparison, Mazda wins!!!
    What's ur views?

    I tested a3 and mazda 3.
A3 better built no doubts. Less bell and whistles thats all. 25k difference and I decided to save $ n bought mazda 3.

I've checked no 1 and even off it. but still same.

I even off aircon, but still see mist.

Thanks for the advise, might monitor and if need I check with TEKi

    Is your sunroof open?

Precisely... And I deem cruise control an useless function in Singapore context.

I beg to differ. With a traffic camera camouflaged around every corner, it helps to set the cruise control to the speed limit to ensure we don't go over.

only useful in kpe/mce bro as traffic flow is quite steady & speed cameras r much stricter.. in other highways, if u drive at speed limit (90kph) in the most right lane, there will be a lot of "friendly" bros tailgating behind u...

HKS K&N all play before in my previous ride Lancer EX....only increase high end speed, low end pick up very letharghic.....throttle body always very dirty, send in for cleaning must remove the filter otherwise they say won't clean for me. In the end give up....original the best, good pickup....think u all still new to this....think properly before investing....modding is endless, mod abit better dun mod.

Bro, you mean you still go back to TEK for servicing after the warranty? I for one will not go back after my 10K servicing.

I tried both kinda filters before and never felt the low end lost. In fact it made my ride more responsive. Only open pods made the low end laggy.

Modding is a very vague term. To me changing wheels, bodykit, air filter, add stickers etc is not considered modding. IHE change then that is mod!

Previous ride was 318i, always cruise at 84 km/h for 5 years. Did the same for mazda, but finally got my first demerits points after driving 18 yrs :(

i guess jap and conti has some difference in speed reporting.

Means you bought your car too early.. because according to some people here, can only buy when car COE is up. If not you are KCS or Kan Chiong Spider.. because you just helped to increase demand for COE thus pushing it up further and therefore limiting these people's chances of ever changing their ride.

Hi, can I check if most people get their insurance with TEK or get their own insurance elsewhere?

You might save $1k on outside insurance but you have to pay a higher car price or loose some so call free servicing . Myself I grab the free 3yrs servicing as it work out more than the $1k. But you can always find your favorite workshop to service at much more cheaper price.

I think the AIG one is pretty good for new car. It's basically a 1 for 1 replacement in the event of loss. But ya, after a year most people will head outside to get their preferred insurance.

    I just did a check.

    95 Shell is $1.79

    95 Esso is $1.89

    10 Cents difference.

however 95 shell is $1.89 before discount, after discount is $1.79 - this discount is based of what?

if got shell escape card and citibank will i get the following based of the $1.79 rate or $1.89 rate?

5% Shell site discount, 5% Shell Escape Card discount, 4% Citi Rebate (after Shell discounts)

Does anyone know what is the 3 indicator flasher setting for? Under setting, vehicle, turn, first option. What is that?

I believe is that when you push your indicator stock to signal, but not fully engage, sort of like half engage, you indicator will flash 3x.

It's for quick lane change. If you slide the signal stalk up or down and let go immediately without latching it,the turns signals will flash three times and then switch off automatically or meansyou slightly push signal stick on the direction you want to go and let go.I thinkUseful and easy for lane changes though i seldom use it

I would suggest Eibach instead of Triple S. I am skeptical of a manifacturer which produces lowering springs for almost all car models. This only means one thing. No research effort goes into their product lines.

If you want to improve handling, you would be better off with a rear sway bar. UR make a sway bar for our car. Alternatively, you can go for more expensive ones from AutoExe and Corksport.

Before I collected my car I was looking into replacing the stock suspension with coilovers, mainly for lowering my ride as I hate the gap in the wheel arch. However now that I've collected the car and driven it I don't think I will be replacing the suspension because the Mazda 3 just handles so well at stock.

Based on my research, if you are thinking of replacingthe suspension, you might want to consider german brandBilstein as they have a coilover (B14) that is specifically tuned for Mazda 3.Cheers.

Sub woofer won't make a difference unless you change main speakers. As u know the stock speakers are 25w Vietnam made oem paper cone speakers. Many of us changed the speakers and even added amp. Send PM for my setup.

wahh...u look down on standard wor....me standard...so shall not comment..

    No i'm not.

But those whom want standard must understand this new HU is already upgraded from the old ANALOG one! Upgraded liao now wanna compare with the deluxe, seriously? There's a segregation for a purpose.

If want standard, go and zeng like e deluxe at a cheaper cost.

Want deluxe, den no zeng as much as a standard.

This is the standard for ppl wanting standard dio bo?!

There! standard ones must be willing to zeng, to personalise your car.

we all stock heroes just take deluxe n sua :(

Thanks for your feedback . I just I will just top up to get a more reliable system . If 100k is peanuts , 6 k is probably just the shell . Not an issue .

Its the honest hard truth. You are already 100k but yet scrutinizing the difference. If you are, that probably mean you are not prepared to pay the upgrade for the deluxe. If you are, you would save up a few more mths for it. No issue at all.

And the diff between standard and deluxe is not just for the HU. The car must suit YOUR specifications, not suit others or refrain from uncomfortable questions from others. If you are happy with it, go for it!

I was asking on reliability not affordability but thanks anyways . I guess everyone has their own opinions . For one I cannot figure out why someone would buy a 2 litre m3 when a few k can get them the gorgeous 6 . Go figure huh ?

    Yup you are right.

I would definitely get the gorgeous 6 if it was just 'a few k'.

unfortunately it was 20k from the DELUXE 3 against the DELUXE 6 at time of sale :(

Because power to weight ratio? Mazda 6 too long and heavy for 2L, need to get the 2.5L.

not only that. if they are comparing a deluxe 3 against a standard 6, alot of things missing out, starting with having to make do with halogen lamps already sian half. higher insurance cost just to mention a couple,

M3 looks more sporty than M6. Nowadays, u can see many M3s on the road. And one shot u can tell between the difference M3 and M6. M6 looks like more family sedan.

M3 Deluxe and M3 2L also has more features than standard M6.

So, yes. All boil down to individual preferences.

Anyone has the standard version with the local fitted infotainment device? Any comments on that. Had saw it fitted on one. It may be bigger but the interface seems a little dated and difficult to use.

I have that. Its 8 inch, so slightly bigger than the OEM one. Its probably some taiwan/china product but definitely an upgrade from the standard radio panel. Touch screen only.

    Functions include
1.GPS from galactio with SLA map. Collected my ride early feb and the gps has no problem navigating to the new estates in punggol / seng kang or down to the house number in private estates.
    2. Reverse cam - big plus for those staying in landed property with kids or dogs
    3. DVD player - only works when parked (safety)
    4. Games including strip majong, yes u didn't read wrongly. LOL
    5. USB interface
    6. Radio
    7. Bluetooth connection with your phone

    Complaints:
When I collected my car the touchscreen sensitivity was off on the right side. Problem resolved on first servicing. The technician only had to reconfigure the touchscreen limits using the built in configuration program.
Radio stations tuning and setting are not intuitive.
Can't play songs from iphone via USB, had to work around using bluetooth or AUX

Bottom line - definitely an upgrade from the standard radio panel. GPS and reverse cam are major pluses without paying 6k extra (of course 6k gets u more than these). For me, I have no affection for the extra bells n whistles, would prefer to pay more for 2 litre or even a manual gearbox but money hard to earn la haha

    Hope this helps!

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised too! Though my only other GPS experience was usingTom Tom in Australia.

In the few times when I actually turned on the GPS, Galactio some how has a good mix of info, distance to the next turn, variable zoom at the correct critical time. I remember always taking a turn too early or late when using Tom Tom in Australia.

How much is it? I bought a similar boot tray (fake leather) type from TB for abt 60 after shipping but the quality is a suspect. Doesnt look at nice as this one. Then i realise mazda thailand sells the original rubber type boot tray for maybe 30 bucks more only after shipping. Yeah more ex but its original! :(

Correction. Sry for the confusion. I just check with my wife and boot tray is 46 chinese yuan. Thats 9 sgd. Not complaining anymore.

There are specific conditions for iStop to work. Need to check the manual for the full set of conditions.

The general rule of thumb is that your air con must not be turned too low, and you must have driven for a while for the batteries to be charged up.

Yeah, if you want only the 2.5 Lux version will give you most of the safety suite found in other country. Only MRCC is not offered on the table. Even the SCBS has been taken out.
