2014 Mazda 3 part 49

I wonder whats the thing that made people buy altis?
2 airbags, no traction control, made in Thailand, no sunroof, cvt.... :%

guess its the branding, TOYOTA vs Mazda.

2nd thing would be the size in the cabin. Mazda 3 space much smaller. I like the look of it (and the equipment)but the space is lacking.

Last thing would be the price. Both are priced similiarly, but OMV for altis is higher.

Would definitely sway me towards the Mazda If the price was more competitive.

The front grill & bumper design turned me off, looks like Darth Vader's mouth...The designer is probably a Darth Vader fan. I am fan of Star Wars but not Darth Vader. [:)]

Of course can DIY, done that. Plenty of materials you can buy online (ebay, aliexpress). But, you need to have time, and of course, must be a 'hands-on' type to remove panels, measure cut to size, ensure surfaces are well cleaned so that material will stick well etc etc...

But, for me, I enjoy DIYing...esp since I can ensure good workmanship :D

Thanks for suggestion..I did try those small convex mirrors u paste on the side mirrors..but images appeared two small to be practical.

I drove quite a few types of cars b4 and had not had this blind angle issue..except for the old Tucson. That was solved with the blue convex mirrors i installed. Thats why i want to see where i can get one thats suited for d M3 HB lo. Although images will appear further than they are...its better than a blind angle..for me.

How ah? A few times i had checked for cars via the driver's side door mirror..saw no cars and moved to switch lane to my right..only to almost bang into a car immediately to my right. Luckily i usually switched lane careful n slowly n turned my head to check even when the side mirror dun show any cars. I wld say the blind angle is from 3 to 5-5.30 o'clock.

Yes..i am aware about the stock mirrors. That said..Mazda has that "blind angle monitor" thingie built in in other mazdas overseas for a reason lo. My opinion is taking this feature out of the local model..sacrify safety over cost.

Need that blue convex mirror b4 an accident happen. Sorry..have problems w link or pic..u can google blue convex side door mirrors for cars...for examples.

You may want to adjust the mirror & / or your sitting position.

The other way you may overcome this is to get a bigger rear view mirror which gives you a better coverage of vehicles coming from back right.

The issue I have is that I find the headrest too big, it sometimes block the left side, esp when filtering left.

I am not Mz employee but to be fair with Mz, I think they are doing the right thing by being upfront abt warranty, vs argument later.

I initially had issue with them with regards to installing car camera which can void warranty of car battery. Basically, if you add accessories & dont tap direct from Battery, you shd be quite safe. But, if you add accessories and short circuit or fire b'cos of that, maybe poor installation, bad wiring etc...thats void of warranty, only recourse is insurance, then again, must also look at insurance clauses.

The w/s mgr explained that there were earlier cases where owner installed car camera, left it on 24 hr for days b'cos owner travelling, after that battery dead & owner want to claim warranty. There were other examples also pertaining to rims change.

Of course there are those who couldn't care less. Just do things with your eyes open. I went ahead to install my own car camera. [:)]

I kind of agree with ST69.

tempering with any electronics or tapping directly to the battery, let alone adding additional battery pack (that's based on what I understand from the SE).

regards to tyres and rims, I cant be bothered much.. will just go proceed on my end.

Actually, hubby and me also spotted this issue when we test drive both the sedan and sports version so we reckon we'll need to get used to it and be extra cautious when hanging lanes? No choice....

Thax ST69 & Nkim9, sorry can't praise not enough points hahaha.

so the void is limited to certain modifiied area right?

The rear view mirror I use has some form of anti glare coating and its works just as well. No issue with glare.

Actually, in terms of glare, the real issue I have is from headlights from oncoming cars esp those fitted with aftermarket blinding white lights. I dont how to resolve this ... [confused]

Thax ST69 & Nkim9, sorry can't praise not enough points hahaha.

so the void is limited to certain modifiied area right?

Oncoming car is blinding you? High beam back ahahah blind both hahaa [smash]

I would do so if its on high beam (not retaliating, but just to warn them in case its accidental... [shocked] ), but most of these I encounter are just though super bright white headlights. In fact, nowadays, the brake lights of some cars are also super bright...I wld probably have to resort to using sunglasses at nite... :D:D...well at least for now, in such hazy days, they are not as blinding though...

    Hi sis,

only upon asking, the SE explain what are consider warranty void. I was quite surprise when she told me tyres & rims are included.
From my understanding, so long I do not meddle with the electronics, I should be fine. Nonetheless, I am still moving forward to change my tyres and rims to 18".

That's what my SE said too, about the electronics. My only headache is the camera. Currently, ours is tapping on the cigarette power so no issues but was planning to get front and back camera for new ride so now maynotm still considering. Enjoy your new tyres and rims :)

    Hi,

    Are you referring to these?

Though I think one of either the right or left side mirror of our local m3 come stock in convex wide view type already.

Also, I just tried this new method to adjust the side mirror and it seem to reduce the blind angle a lot...
Car passing from rear-view mirror appear in the side-view mirror immediately or even overlap...

    Cheers.

Very useful, thanks for sharing, will try it when we collect our new ride next month, can't wait :D

Duck, I bought last week. SE said it will be from the October production and collection will be end November. So I think both of us are getting the October production cars.

Which is better, Toyo or Bridgestone?

In my opinion is a good deal if you like your rims. Buying rims is like dating. For me I think and deliberate on it for very long (2 months). I went to numerous shops, asked to see many many rims, went to many websites, look at many cars in the carpark, when I stop at traffic lights I look at the rims of the car beside me. I finally realised all along that there is one particular set of rims which is what I think about. I realised it is true love. I told the rim shop dealer that I fell in love with that rim and he laughed and said "ha ha.. yes, yes I know that feeling... It is like falling in love. " Once you see a rim you like you will keep thinking of it night and day and keep searching for pictures online. That is the sign from above that you both are meant to be together....
