I got window tint, car mat and higher trade-in value for my old car (compared to what Hyundai or Kia was willing to offer).
Me2! I got higher trade in for my used car as compared to Mitsubishi and Hyundai.
Plus, i get cash rebate 2k less from selling price, LCD display with gps and rear cam...plus 1 more front cam and window tinting.
I didn't get the car mat though... Sales guy said no more budget. Haha.
If they are of the same price, I will take A3 no doubts. But it doesnt worth the 30-40% premium in this case.

ok. looks like im not alone in experiencing this vibration during idling traffic light...
the issue is that the idling is too low...

Nice sharing Privacy! I am wondering how low did your rpm goes when your car start vibrating?
Is the vibration not just simply a minor refinement flaw? Every car I've been in has some idle vibration while in D.

Not disputing that A3 is a better built car.

Based on the price I asked last week, a M3 margin is 19% and A3 is 24%.

I noticed of this symptom on my car on the day after I collected it. To describe it as a "vibration" is quite forgiving, I feel.
I would describe the symptom as "frequent and irregular sputter", which makes it quite irritating and a pain to tolerate as the driver.
Had highlighted to Leng Kee Svc Ctr at the 1K servicing, but seemed like nothing was done and if they did, it was not rectified.

Start engine to have sound after IStop cut off is normal.

Perhaps my car still new (less than 2 weeks). While idling, its quiet and can't feel much vibration. If IStop cuts in to cease engine, only can hear aircon wind...

Hi, What are the effects of the insulator?
less wind noise, close door solid, overall solid feel!Hi, What are the effects of the insulator?
Just checking: everyone who has the vibration issue - are you guys driving standard or deluxe model? Or mixture of both?
Both standard and deluxe same engine. I don't think this relate to knocking sound.
Btw I'm driving standard version. No vibration.

Do you know if this is also used to resolve the 'creaking' sound going over humps after rain? Thanks!

Early 2014 builds did not have this white rubber spring protector or insulator:
If you don't have those & are experiencing some slow speed clunk upon hitting bumps, the dealership may install you these brownish spring protectors to silence it:
PN:KDY534081
This sits 138mm from the top end & inner side of each front coilspring as insulator against the strutmount.

anybody interested in used set of Enkei RPF 1 original rims?
"Frequent and irregular splutter" while idling?? With istop?
with iStop activated (ie engine shut down), all ok. no moving parts except aircon fan mah...

On the other hand, regardless of having iStop function turned on or off (but engine is idling), I experience the feel of "sputtering".
It exists when both aircon is on or off, but I feel it is more prominent and frequent when the ac compressor is running/kick in.

Im not too sure if this was done to mine, but I highlighted it during my 1K service. "Clunk" sound seemed to have been eliminated after that service but of late, it reappeared again. I know this resolves the slight 'tok' sound upon bumps on low speed & torsional creaks. These are cheap US$3+

I observed that the car is using "very high FC like 20-40L/100KM" on the info screen for some time, whenever it pickup speed at low rev, e.g. at traffic lights or bumps/turns....
So far, my first tank only manage about 500KM... or average 8.1L/100KM on info.
Does this improve? anyone getting near the stated 5.7L/100KM ?

Largely depends on travel routes.

I clocked almost 20k, ave FC is 7.7l / 100km, mainly city driving, about 90%.
Car slight jerk when power up and moving off after istop?
Slight jerk when engine crank is normal.
But when moving off won't jerk.

That's why city driving will have high FC.
Trust me, if u pump full tank at Petronas 2nd Link, drive to Melaka and loop back to Sin, drive at cruising speed of 100-110, I'm confident you will be a FC or below 6, or even lower!
Seriously don't worry and compare your FC with other M3 owners. Different driving stype, different route, different load, different setup... All these contribute to FC. Just enjoy the ride!
anyone getting near the stated 5.7L/100KM ?
Forgot to reply u on this - this morning after i pump petrol, i go straight to expressway... When i reach my destination and park my car, my avg FC is 5.4l/100km!
Got a call from the SE, car has arrived...

With 90% city driving and start stop conditions you still managed to get about 13km per litre?
Do you consciously step gently on the pedal or maintain higher air con etc?

This must be the most wackable car. Dun do it, wasted.
The vibration can only be felt when
1. I stop is off.
2. Braking while at D, at traffic light.
Solutions to my irritation:
1) apply 1/2 brake with I stop switched on.
No more vibration.
But its a stop gap measure.
On FC issue. I travelled frm 2nd link petrol station with full tank to ipoh toll and my balance range is 130km! Means I can do 730+km on a full tank 100% NSH, 110km-150km/hr.
When you said I stop is off, do you mean it is activated and engine is off? Or you mean you have switched off I stop featureand while stopping with D, you can feel the vibration (what RPM was your engine at)?

I just got my M3 deluxe 6day , tyre is very noise. Anyone also got is problem.
Part of SkyActiv's strengths is lightening. It has very minimal sound deadening, & thinner but stiffer sheetmetal than ever before. You get better FC, but the trade-off is road noise.

Hello fellow people!
Received my car last Friday and loving every inch of it!
While washing my car today, found a dent on my front passenger fender and the paint has chipped off... Probably caused by a lorry or something with their pointy door swang outwards with a huge force.. causing a ugly dent and hole in the paintworks.
Any kind soul can advise is there any possible remedy to this has caused a huge distress to me. 5th day of driving and already kena this type of inconsiderate people...
Btw color is titanium Mica. Will be great if anyone can shed some light into AD repairing/replacing or other workshop that provide similar services. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all for taking time to read my sorrows! haha... zoom zoom~
I had the same problem, AD quote me $450 for the little chip off. If you wanna cover it with new paint, I suggest you go to a reliable paint shop for a respray at around $150+/-. As for mine the chip off is still there. The dent was rework by suction or roll, aka paint less dent repair. One dent for $20-25.

i'd like to share my FC findings so far.. 1st tank 530km.. 2nd tank 580km.. 3rd tank 620km. 4th tank 650km.. 5th tank onwards 660km to 680km all with 42L of 95 petrol.. i tried 98 petrol once in awhile and it improvement is negligible. +1 or 2% at most.. but car is def more responsive.. i'm currently at 5k mileage and my current average is 6.1L/100KM based on 40% city and 60% highway driving.

The car sucks petrol at low gear.. especially during takeoff when at full stop. or during pick up.. one way to counter that is to accelerate moderately and let it shift to 3rd or 4th gear and subsequently apply cruising.

FYI i changed rims to 17" at the 4th tank.. its lighter than stock rims therefore the improvement in FC..
Yap. I saw in manual that both the lcd and hud display on screen can be switched off..Hi guys, can I check if the hud can be turn off? Saw a few m3 with the hud up,but did not see the display, wondering if the owner switch the display off?

$450 is daylight robbery. That's why on Singapore roads lots of owners drive around with dents, scratches etc. Its too costly to repair and after awhile we learn to live with it...

The guy told me its needed at 1k and 10K...so I took it. I also thought its free but guy explained that servicing doesn't include this "deposit cleaner". Haiz......expensive for a small bottle. Anyway, surprised that yours only 1 hour. I sent in at 9am and they called me at noon to say my car is ready. Did you service at Leng Kee or Ubi?
Did u take it? i thought it's free.....so I take it....mine 1 hr job!
