Mine also I bid guarantee from Mazda. Never asked this question. Today just collected car. Delivered as promised.
Wow, published price is 116k. This is about 10k discount
Mine is 3yrs warranty. Don't mind as I get another 2k off.
5 years warranty? Any free servicing?
Car to be delivered by end June? What will happened if they fail to deliver?
Coe bidding still got 2-3 weeks for car to be delivered. Shouldn't have any problem as SE said if register in july, cevs reduce to 5k. So they should be more kancheong than us. PI could delay, AD should deliver as promise.
Hi all, can I check with the deluxe owners, do the door handles come with one or two smart buttons? (ie driver door + front passenger or just driver?). Planning to buy a set of chrome door handles. Anyone has installed them?
Honestly, the fog light is useless.. I've tried to use it but its just too dim as compared to the xeon head lights. Can save the money, just use the head lights is good enough. Fog light is just for show, white elephant...

I don't know about the fog lights, but I agree with you about the headlights being good enough.

basically A LOT of the other japanese models can go fly kite too la

BUT between the 2, it's hard to compare. Altis has more legroom for passengers at the back and the engine seems to be quieter as well when accelerating. Mazda 3 quite small at the back but for that difference in price, I guess most people will not be too bothered by it.

The engine is much quieter, fast acceleration, good fuel economy, because of the CVT. Maintenance is higher, and replacement of the transmission beltwould be costly. However, a friend's Allion, which never had any gearbox oil change for a long time, because he didn't know about CVT, is still going strong despite over 100k km. He will be changng the belt very soon. On the ther hand, Honda Jazz / Fit owners are complaining about having to change gearbox oil regularly.

One reason why I didn't choose Altis or the Sylphy, was the CVT. The other reason for choosing Mazda over Altis is the dashboard. To me it looks very military, reminding me of the spartan cars of yesteryears. It was the main reason, as when I sat inside, that struck me most. Couldn't bear to see it for the next 10 years!
Others love it though, for the spacious front seats. To each his own.
14k a year gets you a type R with around 3 years to go..
That's why buy new best..

When you calculate depreciation, buying new is always better. But, not evereyoen can afford the deposit for new cars.................. unless COE drops like a concrete block!

Many are buying 2nd hand to wait for that to happen. Seems like many are renewing COE for the early Mazda 3 too. Have been seeing many of them running around when they should have been scrapped. But must say that they still look good, even whencompared to much later models like the facelifted Altis, or the Vios.
This?? Keke..

Wow! That's a pretty mean sound system! Now when I hear loud music from the rear, and see a Mazda coming, ( surely you don't travel faster than sound ) I would guess who's overtaking me!

Enjoy! My kind of music would put many young people to sleep. hehehehheheheh
I bought it at 107k standard sedan, 1 bid guaranteed coe.

At recent COE prices, that is indeed a good price to pay for guranteed COE. Just slightly higher than the immediate post CNY offer.

Eurokars must be really pushing Mazdas.

Hmmm............ possible, if you include the overtrade of your traded in car. The warranty, not so sure, as the offered warranty is 3 years, and not 5, these days.

Some, say the extra 2 years was a mixed blessing, ............. tying you to them for servicing. Also, good for those who use their cars extensively.
At this price their margin is still much higher. Reason is low omv and high cev rebate.

The high CEV rebate is a mixed blessing. Cheaper upfront, but lower PARF value.

These days it seems, scrap value does not make much difference for 2nd hand cars. They seem to go by the number of years it can still be used. Perhaps it is because of the renewal of COE, which would mean the loss of scrap value anyway.

A colleague came up with a good idea. He bought a parallel imported Toyota Harrier, nearing 9 years. Use it for one year, then export it to NZ. Imported one from Japan fulfils NZ emission etc requirements. That way, he gets the scrap value, and could use it in NZ for as long as it passes the required test. He had to pay the export costs though, but still a great bargain.

Last few weeks they gave a 5k anniversary promo and a 4k off for choosing existing stock. Not sure if now still have.

Well... if I'm trying to spot something new, the bumper foglamp sculpture looks tiny bit different... like it's got two-stacked circular housings (below the indicator strip)... But even then, seems like just trying to come up with something... probably the same car
just talk to the service manager as well as well as my SE today.

According to them, if I install dash camera outside (whether using the battery or cigarette plug) , there are two possible issues they have seen

1) Wiring done by 3rd party causes interference to the electronics of the car or 3rd party accidentally damage/cut the wiring during installation

2) Fire caused by the newly installed wiring of the dash camera due to short circuit. Not sure if this is the related to the CX7 fire recently.

For both cases, they will void the warranty and the owner needs to fork out a few thousands to fix the problem.

I told them I would like to buy from them but they do not offer two cameras option today. They told me waiting for management to approve as there is a lot of complications and testings to certify the cameras.

My SE did told me there are quite a number of customers installing outside but it really depends on individual risk appetite. In the end, I think I will choose one of the front camera being offered by Trans Eurokar since I got 5 years warranty.

NZ does not have age restriction, but 'm not sure if you have to be a resident, because my colleague is a PR there. He did it the last time with a Mitsubishi Brandish, parallel imported, not the local version.

Seems like our Mazda Skyactiv would qualify too based on the emission standard, BUT, there must be no modification at all. That's the strict part, even for those imported from Japan directly.

Itwas meant to help the people to have a car, which is very much a necessity, unlike some countries where their own people are squeezed dry, but others favoured.

Do you know that a foreigner ( a British for example ), working here, can drive a Malaysian registered car into Singapore? Of course he would have to pay the toll and VEP.

I imagine the foglamps on the facelifted Mazda6 and CX-5 to be even more pointless, haha.
The LED foglamps on the new models look tiny...

Yeah, they are indeed really tiny! But since they are LED, perhaps they were designed to really be fog lamps, to shine through mist and fog. I use them to lit the area directly in front, to see pot holes etc on a really dark road. It is necessary when driving in Malaysia.

It should not apply if you use the plug ins. There are two sockets and they are not cigarette lighter sockets, because no cigarette lighter is provided, and if there is, it would be a danger, because it would generate heat and the location under the central arm rest would invite fire.

They are meant for external devices, phones, GPS , cameras etc. The sockets are connected to fuses. If that could cause fire, or interference, then it wouldbe manufacturing defect. For that Mazda would have to warn all, and do a recall.

Installation by other means though, can be a problem, especially the kind that taps from a wire with power, meant for other purposes.

Perhaps you can ask the SE what the plug in sockets are for, and say that you would check directly with Mazda Japan. I don't think he knows whathe is talking about.

It was the serving manager who warned me. I believe the concern is not with the socket but with how external installer is routing the cables to make it hidden.
His point is that if the installer is not experienced and when routing the cable accidentally damage the other electrical components, the risk will be at the car owner.
I am in IT. I have seen cases where cables are being pulled and rub against existing cables. The fiction and heat generated from this pulling damages the coating of the cables and caused damages. I guess this is what they are warning about

anyone has feedback regarding the dash cam(Blaupunkt 2.0) that Mazda provides? SE told me he'll throw that in as part of the deal. and since they seem quite serious about external installation and the risk of voiding the warranty it seems like the way to go.

Mazda is quite reliable and in 3 years, all the bugs should have been sorted out. So there is really no real need for an additional2 year warranty as most of the parts that need to be replaced would be wear and tear parts that are not covered under warranty.

Got any recommendation for after market brakes and coil over?
After driving HSV GTS, back to stinker land kinda pissed with the Mazda. Need to do something to improve it.
Firstly, the braking feeing is so fake, I cannot feel the brake, the brake pedal is just like a on off switch. It's like playing computer game. If I'm honest, even an old and crappy car like Nissan sunny got a better brake feel than this.
But the good thing of this car is so far so good. No problems at all.
Exactly that same feeling to the brake. It is too hard and too sharp. Maybe due to the i-stop trigger?

Yah, I booked when 57k coe, topped up 2k and ended up with a 66k coe, so really can't complain. Overall I'm pleased with my price and package. Now just looking forward to the new car. Not sure whether can get used to the power and drive (I'm driving a 2.0 manual now) but during test-drive, really like the precise steering feel and interior design.

Looking forward to your FR (field reports) on JB servicings too lol

Ifyou have been using a manual 2.0, you will definitely feel the lesser power, especially along highways, and going up Genting, for example. In fact the KL - Kuantan highway alone is enough to tell you that you need a 2.0 at least, and turbo if possible. That is why in Malaysia, 2.0 andlower is considered the ordinary car. Above 2.0 you'll pay a much higher road tax. Mazda 3 there is 2.0 as the entry level. No iStop though.

My Preve is / was 2.0 turbo. Now `hijacked' by my son, since his posting to KL. So won't be driving up Genting. lol . Going to try Camerons though with my Mazda.
Yes. bro you are right....

I missed the boat at Feb 15 to change too..

Congrat to those who have gotten the good deal!

Mazda JB ?? I guess your car have another 2years more to go for the warranty... Pricing may changes by then...
Seeing how SGD and MYR fluctuate nowaday..

Yes, about 2+ years more for the warranty.

Chances are it will be much cheaper there. My friend drives a CX5 Skyactiv in JB. ( Knowing the price of Mazda there will cause you Heart-pain.) Will ask him for more details. At the moment Mazda is moving to a bigger premise. There are also many servicing agents for Mazda all over Malaysia. Gives you a secure feeling when driving there. But it is not under Eurokars.

Tan Chong though, is Malaysian. So servicing your Nissan there does not void warranty.

Yah I guess, my idea was to save on roadtax, insurance, fuel etc. The current car is thrilling but really defeats the purpose of driving in Singapore and I dun really go up much north side, only to JB now n then. So now gg back to a normal ride, I think the mazda is the best on the market now, another consideration is vezel but I think longer wait plus higher price. Let's hope mazda reliability will least be on par with honda.
Have been driving mazda 3 deluxe for 1 week plus. Have a few issues.

Not sure if you guys have the same problem

1) Car doors do not auto lock sometimes when I walked away from the car. Happens about 20% to 30% of the time. I have to talk my key out and press lock button

2) I left my USB thumb drive plugged into the USB port all the time. However 50% of the time, when the car starts, it did not detect the USB thumb drive. I have to pull out and plug in again.

3) Unable to use my WiFi (tested with both andriod and iPhone)

4) Unable to sync SMS (seems to be an issue wiht only iPhone)

5) Do we have alarm (anti thief) system installed?

6) Passenger cannot press the unlock button on the front passenger door unless the key is at the front passenger door. My wife needs to wait for me to unlock the door on the driver door. Is this working as design?

I'm driving the standard version, but I read the manual cover to cover............heheheehheh out of habit.
Anyway, I read a lot.

I did have the USB problem before. It is something like your computer not recognising the thumbdrive which is attached before powering up. I noticed that in the few instances it happened, it was during those times when I turned off the engine, without turning off the music player first. Now I turned the music off first ( most of the time when I remember ), and had not experienced the problem anymore.

Car auto door lock happens to most ordinary cars with such facility. When I was using Allion, I always resorted to pressing the lock mechanism as a habit. A small price to pay for safety reason. We need to remember such mechanisms are usually made in China at a low price, even the smart key.

Mazda herehas an anti-theft device - the immobiliser, not an alarm. You will see a blinking red light at the dash, to show it is activated. If you use your smart key to lock, by pressing twice in a row quickly, there is another mechanism - door locked. So anyone smashing the window would still notbe able to open the door from inside. This will make things more difficult for the thief, especially if you use a brake pedal lock. It would be almost impossible to dismantle such a lock.

The manual shows the area ( a semicircle ) for the door mechanism to detect the presenceof your smart key. This refers to the two front doors ( for the deluxe ) and the boot door. That is why your passenger could not activate the unlock door button from the other side. It was actually meant for the person with the smart key, like you, to open the door for her like you did when you were courting...... lol. :-)
This prevents others from opening the other door when you ( alone ) approach your car from the driver's side. You will appreciate thiswhen in Malaysia especially. The glove compartment is nearer to that side, ifyou catch my drift.

WiFi - Bluetooth, can't say anything. I don't even use them. I never answer any call while driving. Sorry.
From my experience

1. Mine works all the time. Typically will wait for the first beep and then walk away. But it seems if the boot is open prior to the door being lock, then it will override

2. So far only use the USB for smartphone music player, no issue.

3. Tested working with Samsung S4 and Redmi Note. Does not work with Redmi 1s though

4. Same as 3.

5. If it is getting into the car, passenger door unlock works. If it is to get out of the car, sorry dunno...lol..so far never lock the door while drive since there is no auto lock..

1. So far mine have worked 100% of the time for past 3 months.

2. Cannot comment as I always remove the USB device when not in use.

3. Mine does not function too. I read online that it's due to the version of software (mine is currently v33). Heard that it works on v51 software. What version is yours?

4. SMS works for my Note 4. IIRC, the iphone BT only allows media and phone calls to stream.

5. As others have mentioned.

6. I read from the manual that the version where the arm-rest have button for lock-unlock door will have auto-lock function (refer attached picture). Our version does not have this feature.

However, I've seen an advert for a device that plugs into the car's OBD2 connector and can enable this function.. waiting for reviews first before I try it. All my previous cars will auto-lock so I'm not used to needing to lock it manually every time.

annoying noises from chairs and other parts, tilt too much when turning even when at low speed, suspension too soft and got so much up and down when going over humps, wheel balance very bad even after a few adjustments (by Kah motor)... then not long ago, my storage box cover between front seats got spoiled for no reason... it can't close!

anyway, really happy to get rid of the old honda and get the new ride.

Congratulations on your new ride! I have been driving the deluxe model for close to six months now.
1) yeah noticed this too. Could be due to sensitivity of the sensor. I observed that we just need to stand beside or near the driver's door or bonnet in order for the first beep to sound and auto walk away lock to be "working".
5) yes there is. Tested it when I collected the car at the delivery centre and it is very loud.
6) yes you are right. This is designed as such for to security purposes.
Hi everyone,

Was wondering if anyone can share what is the recommended tyre pressure for the front and rear wheels of the Mazda 3? Thanks!!
Nice. Where and how much?Glass coating done!!
Hi all, can I know where's the car plate fixed? I saw some on the grille, some below the grille.

Wah bro...my previous Civic also had the exact same problems that you had. Wonderful engine and gearbox! Lasted me 370k milleage with no overhaul and still very quiet but I serviced it well also I guess. Nevertheless, those small small problems that you had were annoying to be honest cos need to visit workshop every 2 months once just to rectify something.
1. Make sure you are alway at the door and must hear one beep sound. If there is no beep sound, it means that you are out of range (unlikely if you are alone), if you are with a passenger and he/she open the door while you have already close it and you have walk away, while they close it, the car will most likely not lock as you are not within range. This is repeatable and I have observed this many times. So make sure you are at the door and all the doors are already close before you walk away.

2. Didnt have any issue. i am using a sandisk usb.

3. Your description is a little brief to make a comment. what do you mean by not work? cannot see wifi hotspot?

4. initially i had the problem...but one day it decided to work when i cleared some smses and has work ever since. Mazda connect tried to read all your sms first before you can read it.so it will take some time. I was using Huawei Mate 7 till i broke the screen yesterday and the phone was not usable as the screen was black..but i was still able to connect mazda and make calls and see sms...wonderful backup!

5. Yes and no here..it does have an anti theft with immobiliser. BUT ( i have experience this personnally on my 2.0) when i was at petrol station to fill up, the key was in my pocket and the car auto locks as i was pumping. My kid was still in the car waiting for me and he pulled the door handle from inside, the horn and signal lights goes off in beep beep beep to sound out to the surrounding. I think its not a full alarm system but a deterent system which i think is good enough. I have to silent it by pressing the button at the door.

6. Yes, unless she has the key in her pocket or bag. The key does need you to be close by. Oh yes, there was a few times when my wife had the key with her without me knowing and left the back in the car and i had one in my pocket. The car will refuse to lock when you walk away. and when you attempt to lock it with the key or the button at the door, the car will beep multiple times. Initially i had though the car locking system broke, but it was the spare key causing the issue.

Hope above helps and no ones describe what i had experience before so i shared some.

Mazda 3 MZDConnect can connect to WiFi? I was always under the impression it only used Bluetooth.
So I like to ask owners:
- I read somewhere the auto engine cut off feature can be disabled. Is this right?
- about the car's smart electronics, can the car still be driven it for some reason the electronics fail? Sorry I've been driving a 'dumb' car all my life. :)
I'm looking to get an M3 soon. But I have some misgivings about the extensive electronics and auto engine shut off when you come to a stop. I drove a Volvo with this function and it irritates me to no end. It'll work great in places like Bangkok with its famous long waits at traffic junction. But in sg??

If you prefer a "dumb" car, better get the standard rather than the deluxe version. Less stuff to irritate you.

There are virtues of a dumb car. But the deluxe is a more appealing version! It's just that Mazda is perhaps the smartest of jap cars now IMO. Is there anyway to adjust the timing before I-stop kicks in then?

Don't think can adjust timing. It is just either on or off. I also like "dumb" cars - cars that are mechanically simply and with as little electronics as possible. Less to go wrong and less things to annoy you. I got the standard btw, cheaper by $7k too.
The brake pedal needs to be depressed fully for i-Stop to kick in. After driving a while you should know how much to step to "not" activate it. I use this method depending on traffic condition. If in traffic jam, I will turn off i-Stop.

1) Must wait for the passengers to close their doors and hear the beep sound before walking away. After doing this, it works 100% of the time

2) USB will work if I start the system without starting the engine first. Meaning pressing the stop start button without stepping on the brake first. Then step on brake and start engine. It will never work if I start the engine first.
Rexus mentioned about using sandisk USB and always working. Rexus: Did you try starting the engine immediately and the USB still work

3) Still not working. Will need to wait until next Monday for the 1k servicing

4) Will try the recommendation by Ahxiu40

Also, I found out that if you stop your car and you wish to have the acc still functioning while stoping the engine, you can push to neutral gear first. Then press the start stop button, it will be at acc mode. Then push to park gear.

In the past, I push to park gear and have press the start stop button twice - once to completely shut down the system and then once more to go to acc mode.

If you prefer a "dumb" car, better get the standard rather than the deluxe version. Less stuff to irritate you.

Pardon my ignorance... but I was looking through the spec and seem like both standard and Deluxe version also have the istop and iloop thingys...

Objective may not be met if you just don't want the iStop and iloop. Maybe other car brand....?

No wonder nowadays if I cross some traffic light... suddenly can hear some car like igniting their engine ..when they are able to zoom off...

I guess if you don't like those features, I think it's possible to turn it off right? Not sure if Mazda 3 can but I'm positive it can be done.

I'm looking to get an M3 soon. But I have some misgivings about the extensive electronics and auto engine shut off when you come to a stop. I drove a Volvo with this function and it irritates me to no end. It'll work great in places like Bangkok with its famous long waits at traffic junction. But in sg??
So I like to ask owners:
- I read somewhere the auto engine cut off feature can be disabled. Is this right?
- about the car's smart electronics, can the car still be driven it for some reason the electronics fail? Sorry I've been driving a 'dumb' car all my life. :)

1. There's on/off switch for iStop
2. You can control iStop by controlling the brake pressure
3. If you set the aircon at very low temp or fan speed high, likelihood iStop will not work
4. If headlights is on, wiper on, or there's heavier then normal load on the battery, iStop will not work

So far, max iStop time is 2 mins (that i experienced). I personally use pt 1 or 2 when i get into a very heavy traffic. I find it useful at traffic lights.

Anyway, can't get away from electronics as smart car is the way forward, plus need to contribute to greener env.

I was in the market for a dash-cam for the past month and was doing research on options.
Initially was interested to get the Garmin GDR45 due to its built-in GPS, capability of recording front & back (optional) and reliability of Garmin device. The price was $279 excluding memory card.

Was about to pull the trigger but came across Techmoan channel on youtube. He reviewed quite a few dash-cams and one that got me really interested was the Mobius ActionCam. I figured that all I needed was a simple camera that I could install and forget that it's there so no need all the bells & whistles that came with more expensive dash-cams. The reviewer showed some pretty good results on his review so I decided to purchase and try it.

I received the cam and installed it yesterday. Installation was simple and I routed/concealed the USB cable through the roof panel, in the rubber seal at the side, below the glove compartment (using supplied clips), side of passenger seat into the arm rest to one USB port. Placement of the camera can easily be tweaked using my Note 4. The camera can be connected to the android phone with an OTG cable and act as an external camera/webcam. By the way, the 3 meter USB cable was not enough if routing it this way. Luckily I had a spare USB female to male cable to extend it. I reckon 4-4.5 meters will be best.

So far really happy with the purchase.

In total I paid S$128 for the Camera with type C (wide 170deg lens) + Suction Mount + 3m USB Cable + Capacitor (to swap out the battery as I fear the heat might damage the battery).

Pros:
- Small discreet little camera.
- Good price for the quality of the recordings.
- Flexibility to use it as an action camera if necessary.
- Video and Audio quality is quite good.
- Every part of the camera is modular and can be replaced rather inexpensively (lens, sensor, case, board, battery).

Cons:
- There is no blinking light at front of camera (sometimes drivers in front might notice the light and behave).
- No automatic file-protection in case of incident (need to manually press a button to protect file).
- No preview screen (however, can view on android phone using OTG USB cable).

I have uploaded 2 unedited clips taken this morning (pardon my runny nose.. ). It sorta shows how the camera handles dark-bright conditions. Clips can be downloaded HEREif anyone is interested.

Was happy with the purchase so thought I'd share with bros/sis here..

Cheers,
Andrew

is it a sucessor to the above item?

i bought about 1 year ago.. now no more need since changed car and have another in-car recorder..

It is exactly this camera.. I bought the one with 170deg wide angle lens.
I feel the good thing about this camera is that the lens+sensor module can be replaced based on your needs too.

Can teach me how to talk the car? My SE didn't teach me and it's too late to ask.
Press the voice command button on the steering wheel, it will starts telling yOu the menu. Just follow the instructions and talk to it. Very easy to use.
I managed to add my wife's contact to phone book and called her on the way home today without taking out my phone at all. Reallt useful. Sorry for being over excited, my old car was really outdated.

Need to enable the sms on the infortamaint settings.

Just below the info button., there is a button that you can press on the steering wheel. After pressing the button, say "help" out loud and the car will "tell" you the command words that for the options you need
2. It work 100% of the time. And everytime i start my car engine immediately.I have never put it to ACC mode (well i did for a few times only to open windows will waiting for someone).

I concur to putting the car to ACC mode when the engine is running by putting to neutral then off the engine.

Most important is that you should have the contract agreement that you signed with Eurokars that states carefully the price etc. The amount that you paid for the booking of the car i.e 10k should be stated clearly on the agreement. If you feel unsafe, can always ask SE for an official receipt but let's say if you paid by credit card, they should have given you the receipt from the credit card company.

They would have provided you a very nice file with the quotation.
The details are in the quotation. If you pay via credit card, there will also be credit card slips which can serve as your receipt so no worries.

i have the credit card slip. other than that, just a "not nice" copy shows how much i still need to pay .
1) servicing manager says wifi not supported by Mazda connect for v51
2) if you have any complaints on the solar film, must highlight when you book the appointment. If you highlight on the actual day, you need to wait until the next appointment (5k servicing)
3) you can only buy the Philips or Blaupunkt 7.0 dash camera. The Blaupunkt 2.0 is only available for bundle with new car. I did not push my SE for the camera because I was going to buy 2 camera version outside. In the end, due to warranty, I have to choose the models offered by transeurokar. My advise to potential buyers is to ask for the free camera and then decide later if you want or do outside.
4) they do some light cleaning for your car during the servicing.
5) there is free shuttle from ubi service centre to tai Seng mrt at 8.30am, 9am, 9.30am
6) a lot of people servicing their car so please remember to book at least 2 weeks in advance.
I have been to tan Chong service center. They offer light snacks, more variety in drinks than mazda ubi service center. Is the Mazda service center at leng kee better?
