Maybe my bargaining power is not strong enough to land a set of solar films, only got a set of mats.

don't be shy to ask your SE again maybe he or she will throw in. If not at least ask them for 3M customized car mat that cost about $175 or else they will give you 3A instead. Must squeeze them jialat jialat one. They need your sales not you need them.

If such is the case, damn sick lor. Everytime got something that is meant to benefit consumer, in the end benefit business instead.

bros, is 215/45R17 91Y a suitable tyre for mazda 3? is this consider low profile?

sorry rather green at this car thing

i squeezed the SE for discount on car vs the freebies.. the freebies they give sometime inferior one (tell you this value but actually its not) so i rather go get my own which value for $

My COE is Cat A. Should get car by this weekend or early next week. According to SE, should expect aggressive bid over next two rounds of COE as the Car Show has just ended yesterday. Not sure if this is accurate. Recommended to install solar film for $800 incl GST. Can't tell me the brand and spec of film. I have my reservation over his recommendation. Can anyone share info on solar film? For my case my car is parked in HDB covered lots and office building. Do I really need the film taking into consideration that it is only weekend ride with my family.

you will get your car so fast? Mine only end Sep then come.. SE say Aug production...

Just to check with the bro out there, when you start your car to warm up in the morning, is the engine sounded very loud for the first few minute.

Yes think is louder for Mazda due to skyactive high compression engine. After a few minutes when the rpm goes under 1k it willsound normal.

When did you sign the dotted line?
I signed the dotted in May and would have thought it would be between end July early Aug but not the case. Maybe different SE has different priorities of allocation to their clients.

i read on Australia Mazda forum tat the Batt is special bcos of the i-stop technology. u need more current to start the motor within a short time. they faced problems with the Batt during initial launch of the car in 2013 but has since been resolved

The concern is M3 battery is 400-500+ compare to normal battery that cost 100+.
Furthermore you must go back to AD to get replacement battery as the battery need to be "activated" by AD before you can use it. If the ad decided to charge 700 isnt it you got no choice but to pay?

Bro, is there anything to share since you have been driving for the one week+? Also did you install anti-theft alarm coz I understand it does not include in package. Or anything which you felt let down by this new M3?

so far the handling is good, fuel consumption not too bad, only minus point is the pick up is slow compared to my previous Altis, but once you travel for a distance the ride is quite comfort. I haven't install anti theft alarm, was looking to install as well.

Yes, agree with you bro.. I get your point. This might be the deal breaker for some bros here..

But again, it depends on how frequent we need to change the batt?

Is it same as normal batt, i.e. abt 2 years once?

With the savings in fuel consumption, i dun mind forking out the extra $$ as long as the batt is reliable and the frequency of replacement is about 2 years..

bro, no anti-theft alarm means if the car was forced open, the alarm will not sound?

The AD only provide the keyless entry mechanism and nothing else? OMG... :(

bro, i believe they prioritize the clients according to the purchase price and date of purchase, i.e. batch of purchase

Assuming people purchase on the same batch, I presume higher priority will be assigned to the one that top up for guaranteed COE, or the one that did not ask for discount in price or the one with NO loyalty rebate (i.e. Mazda change Mazda) of $1k.. In short, whoever pays a higher price will be given a higher priority, tats my guess only lah..

    :D

bro, I think you got it mixed up.. Your SE is correct, its based on color and model you chose, its got nothing to do with guaranteed/non guaranteed COE..

the SE can only commit on the arrival of the car (i.e. based on production and shipment date), they cannot say for sure when you will get your car cos they cant control when your COE will be secured.

I heard from my SE that in the global market, the mazda 3 is very popular and the factory is putting in extra effort to fulfill the demand... dunno got "hao siao" boh :p

After you take delivery of a new car, always spend abit of time to note the rpm reading of its warmed-up state. The rpm will shoot to a few ks with high rev noise, then drop steadily to just below 1k rpm where it is warmed up. The engine noise would be very muted then.

If possible, drive off only when engine speed drop to less than 1k rpm. I do not depend on temperature meter or icon as will take too long. Some will advocate immediate gradual drive-off after engine start as it is a modern engine but i always play safe abit.

Yes, it is loud during warming in the morning.

Yes,it is normal, for fast warm up,extra fuel is injected into the engine, when the engine is cold, idling speed is about 1450rpm,our cars got very high compression, sound is unavoidable[sounded like Diesel engine [thumbsdown][furious]:D]....during idling, maybe you can go back to agent...to check it out.?

My 2L engine is definitely not any noisier than other makes I owned before. But the warm up time seems to be shorter which is good, most likelydue to the high compression design. Not complaining. Power also definitely not lacking when pushed, for a NA engine that is.

So far my ride has been great. Fuel efficiency is very good, abt ave 7.5l to 8l per 100km ( came frm SUV so lotsa savings to me). Power is ok, need to step bit more during drive off, but feels good once ard 2-3 gear. For me I pump 98 frm start so can't compare with 95.

Just remember one man's meat is another man's poison. For some people, the lack of a boot lid lever within the car is a big thing and sufficient to make them rethink getting the car. Others are willing to accept having their cars towed to the workshop every now and then as the price to pay for greater driving enjoyment or prestige. At the end of the day, as long as the car meets your needs and wants, it's a good car regardless of what others may say. :)

Yup buy what u like. When I commented on the boot latch I was coming from the view point that should basic stuff should be in there and Mazda will not be able to cut much cost omitting it. But I am driving a stationwagon for more than 5 years and I love it. The funny thing is my car DOES NOT have a boot latch. lol. So your money your call.

When signed in May, was told stock arriving sometimes in July. The color I chose is also available in their shipment. I got this after 3rd attempts. As mentioned previously by other forum readers, a stroke of luck and the SE who took my order may have contributed to confirm the delivery by early next week. Not forgetting that over last weekend, there were brisk sales in the Car show in Expo.

Mazda 3 owners, would it be possible if you could help me check what is your car's RPM when the car is in drive mode, idle and with the brake applied?

Mine is about 500 rpm and there are vibration and humming noise coming seemingly from the dashboard. No such noise or vibration when in P or N mode or when the brake is disengaged. Quite frustrated with the noise and vibration. Just started this week, mileage at 5k.

yes tat means no bid.. Fyi, they also didn't bid for me on my first bidding..today was my 4/6 non guaranteed bid.. still didn't secure.. super Sian liao..

Bro, dun be sian... can understand ur feeling, sort of anxiety while waiting for the breakthrough. Have faith lah. When coming to the 6/6, they will die-die put a high bid for u. As bro L23 posted on 19th last month, "the company will not let any fish swim through their net"

BTW quite a number of ppl expect LTA to release 10 to 15% more quota for the next quarter. If tis come true, COE premium will surely slides. But then since so many 'thirsty' old car owners are waiting to come in, I think the fall wun be a lot.

i bought the deluxe model in metallic silver.. black interior. how abt. u? when did u placed your order?

Bro , u get your COE this time round ma?

Actually, the longer u wait, u can save more wor since COE is going downward now.

    1. If COE drop lower than your rebate value, you can some cash back..

    2. Or else, they used up yr 6 bids, they return u the deposit , you can go buy again. I believe the 2nd round of your purchase should be much lower than your 1st purchase since COE will be down significantly [bounce2][bounce2]

I bought at 106k, current price is abt 111k.. even if i dun secure after six bids, i doubt the price Will drop back to 100+k.. AD might have sufficient orders on hand liao to stabilize the coe price..

Bro, did you press your SE for Open Cat COE?
Since bro vdln0248 got an Open Cat COE, you should as well in theory but not sure what their criteria is.

Did they ask you to top up so far?

Either way since you hv used up 4/6 attempts, just ride out the last 2 attempts as maybe Mazda will bid higher nearer the end. Good Luck!!

Fully agreed. Imagine 2 or 3 rounds later, COE drops to 55k, AD will lower rebate level, so car price will be cheaper by few K unless other factors kick in? So pay lower price for the same car.

For my case, I booked a Korean 1.6 end of last yr. As COE was strong all the way, AD din put in high bids for me. As a result, I got the refund of deposit back after 6 attempts. At that time, I was damn disappointed. Since then I sit back n just watching. Now price for that car is cheaper by >10k. On hindsight, it's not a bad thing for me. So by mid next yr, COE premium might fall by 10k, who knows?

Wouldn't it affect your trade in value for your used car if the COE falls? When I bought mine, the top upguarantee COE is 4K. But I got a high trade in value for my car.

If I would have waited, it would have been lower plus I got new 6 month road tax, new tires, save a bit on fuel and newwarranty. Now the price of M3 also up given that it is a popular car.

So give or take it comes out to be the same.

    1) Got the car mat from Maxtrend interior and trunk.

I can't tell the difference so went for a local brand instead. Much cheaper and 10 years warranty. So far so good. Car is much cooler. AC is on 22-23. Before was 19.

    3) Installed Blackvue 530 (Front and back) and external battery Cellink B. Cam will use the external battery. Once out of power, it will shut down. It will not use the car battery. Charges when you drive the car.

    4) Installed Focal PS 165 F for front speaker and tweeter. What a world of difference! Might install mosconi amp and DSP later on. But I think for now it is good enough. I don't spend a lot of time in my car.

My friend who got his M3 recently told me that his colleagues all give top marks for the style of it's class. According to him, the ride is smooth on the road n it would be good if the power can be better. However he said that the back seat with the head rest is rather high. Becos of the design, the rear view is quite limited n sometimes he finds it a challenge to park when come to 'difficult' lot. (his model dun have the parking camera like the Deluxe) Of course he is still new with his car but he's a seasoned driver, having several cars before.

Any comments from the bros who have the M3?

Just took my car this morning. Mine is a Deluxe model, the rear camera does help in my reserve parking. The handling is very good and solid, apart from the power which can be better. But it's ok for my ride. As what some of forum readers commented, it's a Japanese car with internal conti feel. Still exploring since it is my first day. The manual is about 1 inch thick, lots to digest. It was nice of the company to preset all the local FM radio channels and the map as well. That really help to save the hassle of initial programming/set up.

S'pore Agent using 0w-20,100% Syn Mazda Eco oil...Petrol.?Due to the very high compression engine, using 98 will give Max performance. [thumbsup]:D

while 0w-20 is recommended, what other spec/weight oils are in the 'approved listing'?

    Is 5-20, 5-30, 5-40in the listing? I guess 10-40 is totally out?

1k svc today! No prob so far for me. Have confirmed tt the car batt is special, can't get elsewhere in the mkt except Mazda - although this batt is supposed to be tougher to withstand the istop. They also mentioned that their engine oil is frm Jap and lasts 10kmileage.

Anyone knows where to get oem accessories and body kits for M3? Thk rear boot lip is nice.

bro i read the forums some say cannot wash car with soap aka petrol stn wash if you apply the paint protection?

They me the same thing too.. But I find its not practical cuz water can't rid dirt and oil... Might scratch up the car more. Shampoo can lubricate and makes washing easier which is wat I'm doing weekly still. Even applied another layer of sonax extreme brilliant detailer after tt. Lol.

    Congrats bro!

Do let us know if the navigation is any good? I thinking of de-commissioning my gps .. Prefer not to have too many stuff on the dash.

    Thks!

Didn't get the chance of using the navigation but will certainly do so. Will keep you updated once done. [:)]

The battery is probably AGM. Meant for cars with start stop. You can always use a normal battery but maybe the life would be shorter since it undergoes many more starts. But even if you change batteries more often it might even be cheaper as AGM batteries are not cheap.

just did my PPS with Amazing Glaze today, got it during the car fair, according to the staff you can use shampoo to wash the car as long the shampoo does not contain wax.

    Hi TIA
My previous was a Latio. Simple B&B car. Start off is slower than the current. Also a decent car without much bell n whistles. It is quieter when on the move as compared to now. The rear seats and booth were much generous. At the end of the day, it is up to individual taste. I traded my Latio at a decent price of 38k for a 7 yrs car in which I was a 2nd owner. Would have continued to use but thought I wanted a changed.

not true at all. what i heard is that you cant use outside battery at all. you must go back to the dealer because when you put a normal battery the car cannot start at all. if you run out of battery in malaysia you might have to tow the car back to singapore

any mazda se can verify on this?

Just done my 1k servicing today. Checked with service consultant, the battery will cost about $300. They will only change the engine oil at 10K.

hi statr22, so far so good for me.

I asked the SC this morning what if I insist to change the oil, answer was we will not recommend. Confused now. Btw any bro use turtle wax F21 shampoo before on car that done with paint protection, as it stated there will not strip away existing wax.

If mz3 really require a special 'battery' to work, it falls to my number 2 choice straightaway.... I don't like 'special' stuff for a b&b car... B&B car is there for reason...

Mazda cars,in order to to make it the lowest emission[non hybrid] car,it needs to use start/stop,i-Eloop,same as most German cars,so it needs the so called special 'Battery"...that is why,it got the lowest emission in it's class, for Mazda 3 & 6.

The Service advisor will tell you this, but even my 800km oil change,i still change another time at 5000km[own pay]...for a peace of mind & for my engine longlife.
