Yup.. They have the crossover box.. That helps.. Just dont get the coaxial type...

If you can find the CDT CL 62.. That would be a very good choice for entry level component

Maybe ur standard too high.. Keke

After my 1k svc.. I will install back my ground zero reference amps and speakers if they are still unsold ..

Yup, used cdt during my last 3 rides, great speaker

Oh no ! My car has the crackkk sound when go over the hump... when i collect my car in dec last yr, there was no sound at all when i go over hump slowly... only when i did nor slow down when going over a hump, there is a v slow crackkkk sound.. seems to be normal like all other cars...

Today i juz drive out for 5mins in the rain, then realise when i go over hump slowly, the crack sound v loud...

My 20k servicing is due in july.. still got 2 mths... can it last till then ? And also, will it cost money to fix this ?

If under warranty all parts are covered unless is due to wear and tear. I think should be covered. Just talk to them.

not my standard high, it is standard of stock speakers system is high.

That time I sat in the showroom test-drive car... maybe it's the radio reception, but I felt the speakers were pretty low standard. Very rough and poor treble.

... But again, Canadian review pointed out the radio reception seemed to be poor, so it could just be that.

But everyone has own taste in audio quality and mine is more treble-centric than most. Don't let me stop you from enjoying your favorite sound signatures [thumbsup]

Every thing will be expensive. Did you notice the cost of the scuff plates for Mazda 3 at the accessory display cabinet? Ridiculous! You can get them very much cheaper and better online. Fixing them will take less than 10 minutes.

I think it is to avoid having to do such minor works. They already have their hands full with the servicing. Now you are reminded to book 2 weeks in advance even for the 1k, 5k and 10k servicing.

May someone help me to summarised the issues faced with this mazda 3 so far? Considered getting this car and below is the issues i saw through this page and ppl here might help to reply the problem permanent fixed or still not fixed have below:

    1) Knocking sound from car suspension? - Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    2) Replacing noisy stock tires to comfort tires to decrease road noise? - Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    3) Vibration issue during idling at traffic light? -Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    4) Stock Wiper Juddering issue? -Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    5) Unknown paintwork damage? -Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    6) Slow reponses of center console UI interface? -Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    7) Center console updated firmware improve overall usage? -Permanent fixed? Not Fixed?

    8) Any more to add ? please update here... thanks.

    I had my 3HB for 6mths now.

Just to share my experience on a couple of the issues which you listed, as well as a "new"issue that I am currentlypre-occupied with:

For issue (1) - At my 2nd servicing at Ubi, they fixed the knocking sound (going over hump). Since then ,I only hear a slight but bearable "clacking" sound ...only when it rained and the carwent over a hump at medium speed. Overall, I would consider it fixed cos day-to-day I do not get that sound anymore.

For issue (5), I noticed that the paint on my car (I am not saying all the Mazdas), seemed very "thin" -just a little scratch and Ican seebare metal underneath a couple of spots already and it's just 6mths' old! No joke...

Fortunately, my car didnot face the other issues, you mentioned.

Unfortunately,my car faced a "new"issue which isnot mentioned above and that is:

A weird and loud resonancewind noise whenthe car is going at more than 40KPH andwhen Ilower the rearwindow (one or both) by a third or so. It is so loud, it sounds like a Chinook Helicopter! [dizzy]Strangely, when Ilowered the front window (one or both), I do notget that resonance windnoise as loud, but it's there.

At my 10K service, I reported this "windnoise", butMAZDA explained that it's due to the aerodynamic of the car and wind flowing into the car cabin. Somehow, the difference inwind pressure - outside the car and the cabin - caused the "chomping" sound that sounded like a helicopter (very regular "chomping" sound that does not sound like normal wind noise). I was not convinced by the explanation. So, I tested one of the "test car" (also a HB) at MAZDA and got the same noise! Thereafter, I googled this "wind noise" issue and found that an overseas forum had a topic on this "weird wind noise resonance" and it seemed to affect the 3HB....as well as other cars which (...surprisingly!) had very good aerodynamic design!Weird huh? Gofigure it out.....

I had driven more than 15 different types of cars in the past and I had never in my life experienced such a loud weird wind resonance noise whichseemed to be inherent in the 3HB.Of course the simple solution isa no brainer: Don't wind down the rearwindows.

In conclusion - If MAZDA is correct and if my test drive of the "test car" at MAZDA, and the "googled results" is anything to go by- All bros here driving the 3HBs should haveexperienced this weird wind resonance.....wind your rear window slightly down when you are drivingabove 40KPH and try it!

    Hello,

I'm thinking of getting a in car camera but the camera which I can purchase from service centre does not have parking mode, if I install from 3rd party, does it void warranty?

For those who have installed in car camera, do you just install at service centre or outside?

    Thanks

Yes chomping sound exists at 40km/h and above when rear windows are opened. I only tested both Windows opened at same level. Not a problem to me as I don't wind down rear windows.

On issue 1, I also experienced the 'clacking' sound but only during/after heavy rain going over hump. I am just thinking if it might be the tyres?

On issue 5, I agree totally with you. Mz comes with a very solid & heavy frame, but the sheet metal is really thin & also the paint work is also very thin, maybe to reduce overall weight or just simply save cost. Its supposedly 3 layers. Collected plenty of chips within the 1st 3 mths, gave up. Decided to vinyl wrap.

    On issue 1:
I dun think its the tyres - For various reasons (not due to the clacking sound wc dun bug me really) I changed my tyres 2x so far and that sound is still there, albeit only occasionally and only when it had rained. I think it had to do with water from the rain affecting the effectiveness of an "insulation" which was added on to remove the knocking sound in the 1st instance. Yes...Mazda added some "insulation" to the suspension (dun know exactly wc parts) to solve the "knocking" issue...at least that was wat i was told.

On issue 5: You r absolutely rite, bro, and I couldnt hv said it better....its probably all about the philosophy to keep the car lite=save fuel=save costs....

    Thanks for sharing.

AAS' more interesting and held very regularly. Just be a member. You'll also get help from other Automobile Associations in other countries when you drive there.

Gives you a safe feeling should you drive up north on your own. AAM will assist you. The interesting part is that the membership is connected to you, not the car. So should you be travelling in a friend's car and it has a problem, you'll be assisted by AAS etc too.

Anyway, it is fine for me, to protect from paint being scratched by my wife and daughter's shoes. Somehow they like to step there when lifting their legs to sit.

for the front it's for those people who anyone cut in or reverse into you.

technically, don't need rear cam I guess.

That's what I thought too previously. Then after installing a spare camera for the rear, I found it most useful. At the checkpoint during a congestion, it helped identify who kissed by rear bumper. Lorry and bus drivers, as well as road bullies who tailgated me quickly backed off when they realised they were recorded.

Bikers who weaved in and out and became angry when you sounded your hornas they suddenly appeared in front of you, shut up when you showed them the rear cam.

The driver of apet van that cut into my path causing me to brake suddenlyand the taxi behind me braking hard, had to apologise when I sent the videos front and back to his boss.

Bus company apologisedwhen the driver showed middle finger after I overtookit from the left as he was hogging the right lane along a two lane road. These are some of the benefits of the rear cam.

    lol...me too...

Further more, Mazda 3's socket is so far away from the dashboard !!!

You are absolutely right! My power wires were too short when In tried to hide the wires as shown on YouTube.

But having two power sockets is a blessing. The only previous car I had with that was the Ford Focus. It has a nice socket for the rear passengers, with an equally nice cover. That was more than 10 years ago, and made in Spain.

did my first 1k service. installed the Philips ADR600 camera for 294 bucks.

Doesn't affect the radio reception. nicely tucked away behind the rear view mirror.

i booked m3 last sunday and has this as part of the package. though not sure if it is the same model.

So, not cigarette slot. SO, unless they use sub slot if that then, its very likely connect to fuse box, which shd be the better option.

Actually there's no wrong or right.

Not to jinx anything but over 15 years of driving, I've not used any cameras front or back.

I just tend to drive safer and more defensive.

I keep a distance away from the front vehicle and if the vehicle behind me is too close, I change lane.

If other drivers are aggressive, aka show middle finger or horn, I back off. I just want a peaceful time on the road enjoying the drive and music.

sometimes I get frustrated, I just take a deep breathe and move on.

cars are too expensive in Singapore to be used to 'play' with other vehicles.

If you only have one cig-socket and your ionizer is plugged there directly and not to a multi-head splitter or something, then it's probably hooked up to the fusebox...

For those who are interested, the in car cam is linked to the fuse box. If you want the in car cam to be included in the purchase aka as a freebies, you must negotiate before confirming, not after.

    That's admirable of you.

In my case, I drive assuming other vehicles have cameras as well as the authorities having them everywhere.

Only in my case, there is an added `fire extinguisher' kind of precaution, in case accidents do happen. I'm sure in your years of driving, you still had some minor accidents, which could result in messy claims.

Insurance companies like Direct Asia, give discounts for having in car cam. Cuts down on paper work and investigations. I could remember the video of a Mercedes reversing and hitting the front of a car. Then blamed the victim for running into the Merces.

There was a similar case involving a car driven by a lady and a taxi. Fortunately the taxi had a cam. There was also a case of a car which on purpose cut into the lane of another car and slammed on the brakes resulting in the other car hitting the rear. Also the famous case of the road bully who was charged by TP based on the videos. Imagine the absence of the videos in these cases.

In addition, tail gating by lorries and buses usually occur in the middle lane, not the fast lane. Do you then change to the slow vehicle lane when they tail gate you?

Videos of road bullies, canbe a deterrent to them. Imagine if they are involved in an accident and such videos of them be brought to the attention of the TP. Would anyone who knows buy their cars 2nd hand even at a lower than market price?

Allowing reckless drivers and road bullies to get away, would encourage others to be like them.

We have not come to that stage yet. But I believe, in time, safe drivers would take over our roads, with the help of the in car cams. I'm not IT savvy, but if someone starts a treasury of road bully and reckless drivervideos, easily searched by registration numbers, I'll be glad to contribute.

When you open Mazda Toolbox and sign in, the map subscription will be displayed.

For me, it does not and only appear a couple of days ago when launch it again. Thus it may not be shown immediately for some (aka me) but it seems many others will see it immediately upon registration

Mine now shown up with only 3 months subscription. I think it activated when I connect mzd connect to my phone hotspot and activated live traffic update.

The 3 months subscription is so called "connected services subscription" which covers local search, live traffic and live weather information.

Hope the maps update still applicable after 3 months.....

Yes, it will start if your aircon temperature is set too low or outside temp too hot, it needs to cold down the cabin. Also the max iStop can stop is 2mins, so if wait too long, it will also start.

Anyway, I tested the brakes today. On ECP within 1.5 cars length on Lane 1. there is this part approaching the overhead bridge which cars always slow down.

The car in front of me suddenly jammed brake. I had to E-brake and stopped within 1 m from his boot. Tires screeched a bit but steering wheel doesn't vibrate much.

Confidence up one notch on the car's ability.

Anyway, I've been driving for 37 years, with only one slightly more thanminoraccident. No injuries, except to the cars. An old lady, mother-in-law of an MP, suddenlystopped at a traffic junction when the light was green! She was lost. I slammed on the brakes ( the old Elantra ), it spun and my car rear hit the lady car rear. Really awkward when explaining the damage.

Did not get any police ticket nor demerit points, as I told the MP that his mother-in-law should not be driving anymore. He must have done something. I actually guided her to the SAFRA Club where the MP was.

Somehow, I found that the cameras do help in preventing accidents.

Everyone here seems to be doing lots of modification. Aren't you worry it will void your warranty? You may argue later they are just small modifications and do not affect anything, but wouldn't these mods give bullets to AD to deny warranty claim (esp. extended warranty which the AD needs to pay repair costs from their own pocket).

Thanks. Can't be there on 28. Had an appointment with the doctor.

I think the warranty would be void if it concerns the areas where the modifications are done. That's why I mentioned the water proofing of the door. If there should be a leak when it rains, or when the power windows would not work due to moisture, the dealer would void the warranty.

But if it was a totally unrelated problem, there is no justification to void the warranty.

Exterior and engine modifications, however, wouldexpose one to insurance problem, in case of serious accidents. Even a heavily tinted windows and windscreen could result in that if they are illegal. Obscure your vision, they would claim. Sigh.

Chinese module folding mirrors? How did you know that? May need to scrutinise mine!

Wow! Totally hidden inside the panel! Thanks. Now will understand why if it conks off in a couple of years at most! Hopefully by then replacements will be cheap.

You really needto fold thembecause the car's wing mirrors are so large that if you go through the checkpoints here and JB, it will rub against the counter side or that ugly cash card box. If you adjust the car's distance from the counter, the other side will rub against the flexible orange poles.

So, it's Made In Japan, with China-made parts!

Got any recommendation for after market brakes and coil over?

After driving HSV GTS, back to stinker land kinda pissed with the Mazda. Need to do something to improve it.

Firstly, the braking feeing is so fake, I cannot feel the brake, the brake pedal is just like a on off switch. It's like playing computer game. If I'm honest, even an old and crappy car like Nissan sunny got a better brake feel than this.

But the good thing of this car is so far so good. No problems at all.

Try to collect your car during the day so that you can check your car thoroughly. Print the logcard of your new car from onemotoring. This is to verify that the registered chassis number and the IU number is correct. Bring your whole family to collect your new car.

As for your existing car, remember to clear your stuff before you hand over 2 car keys to your SE. My SE requested me to print the logcard of my existing car from onemotoring. I wonder if your SE told you to do so. My SE requested me to pass my IC to her so that she can deregister my car.

Thats all I can think of.

Hi, just bought the standard sedan and was told it has no fog light.
Anyone knows how much is Mazda selling like the one on the deluxe sedan? Or anyone has any contacts I should do it myself outside?
    Thanks.

I think just ask the SE how much to top up to have fog light installed. As i heard owned fitted fog light needs to cover up during inspection. If from AD I think does not need. If not can ask SE to recommend. They should know.

Actually the SE will have the log card and she will show to you the engine chasis number against the log card for your verification. You should get the IU number in advance and so in the morning before collecting your new car, go to HDB website to change your season parking, in case you stay in HDB.

If your car is to be deregistered, just hand one key and keep the other key as sourvenir. Tell the SE the other car key lost. Lol.

Ask the SE to show all the functions of the new car.

List of cars I've owned before: Nissan March, Suzuki 800, Nissan Sunny, Lancer, Ford Focus, Proton Saga,Proton Preve, Corolla Altis, Mazda 323, Mazda 3SP.

Now, Mazda 3. Brakes feel fine to me. Maybe because I've never driven a high performance car, except a rented 4 litre in NZ.

My SE quoted $500+, and even that couldn't assure the control would be on the headlight stick.

Saw in YouTube the installation, complete with the stick control, of an after market fog lights.

I too missed the fog lights, but tested the headlights on a really pitch dark minor road in Johor near Desaru. The road leading to the floating seafood restaurant at Sungai Lebam. It worked fine, without the fog lights, which I used previously on my Mazda3 SP, to lit the area just in front of the car. The headlightslit all the way from just in front of the car to the distance.

So if it is for that purpose, you can wait a while till some car accessory dealers bring them in. If it is for the looks, then it is another matter. Emailed JDM and did not receive any answer on that. Perhaps if you ask JDM, they may bring them in as the demand is there.

One matter to consider. Would it void the warranty? According to the video, all the necessary connections are already there. This is like the electronic seat controls. Look under the seat and you'll see all the necessary wires and connectors are there.

If you use identical after market fog lights, as the deluxe version, it would not require the cover up. The cover up is for the usually round, large and at times yellow, fog lights, installed on off-roaders. They can be really blinding.

They are forthe earlier model, the one after Mazda 3 SP, with that big Joker's smile. The prices shown in theaccesory cabinet at Ubi, are exhorbitant.

I think the car is quieter... Worth it i guess... Now waiting for my boot carpentry to be completed..

First time trying this installer.. They actually use a seat cover before sitting on the seat.. Quite impressed

So howdid the 28th installation go? I hope all's well.

What kind of boot carpentry did you do? Sounds interesting!

Normally if trade in old car, Mazda will state the trade in value as "paper value + overtrade". Is the paper value date stated equal to your new car collection date?

Good news for everyone who bought Mazda 3 recently - Used Mazda 3 Deluxe selling on sgcarmart at $110k.People who bought Mazda 3 Deluxe at $105K lastyearcan make $5K after drivingformore than 6 months.

The used car market is crazy. My friend just bought a 7 year old Civic with $14K depreciation.

Honestly, the fog light is useless.. I've tried to use it but its just too dim as compared to the xeon head lights. Can save the money, just use the head lights is good enough. Fog light is just for show, white elephant...

basically A LOT of the other japanese models can go fly kite too la [bounce2] [bounce2] [bounce2]

BUT between the 2, it's hard to compare. Altis has more legroom for passengers at the back and the engine seems to be quieter as well when accelerating. Mazda 3 quite small at the back but for that difference in price, I guess most people will not be too bothered by it.

If space is the main consideration than Altis cannot be beaten. It has rear legroom that put midsized sedans to shame.
