Ya agree with you. This type of car drive liao damn pek chek. Totally no power. I been reving mine to 4k+ daily. I thinking if i should ki siao and get CLA45.

Any bro after 10000km service your car at outside workshops, any good recommendations for our Mazda 3. Thanks in advance.
Our "SkyActiv" engine needs special care, better don't go outside for service, anyway,Mazda service not that expensive...take note, our engines needs 0w-20 oil..for best performance.

How to compare a 2 litres,360 Bhp with,Mazda 3,1.5 Litre.?CLA 45 costed over $320k,almost 3 times,of Mazda 3.
Actually I let my M3 change gear at about 2000rpm, acceleration quite ok leh.. If I need, will step on slightly harder and M3 will change just below 3000rpm and it is quite fast to handle most of the quick responses already. Have not come to a situation to step hard enough to go beyond 3000rpm-4000rpm yet... Racing with luxurious/sports cars???

Singapore how fast can you drive. You just increase the wear and tear of the car by the fast start abrubt stop/slow down because of traffic lights/hoggers. Just chill and relax drive bro. :)
I prefer Kumho KU31 to NEXEN N8000... On N8000 now (abt 15k km now), grip not as good as KU31, wear out faster
Point noted bro. Thanks for sharing. Noise wise?
225/55R16,is too big for the car,may rub the fenders.

Beg to differ, big cc car with big fat ass will not do any good on singapore road but very good at clearing those sniping digital speed camera and AUTOBAHN. Sure, power is great, but the ability to use all that whatever power firmly plated on the road with a great chassis and a spontaneous gearbox is just brilliant.

Was on RON98 for about 5000km, then the next 2000km on RON95, then switch back to RON98.
The difference is significant when you rev a bit more.

Well, paying the 15k premium isn't a big problem if you divide it by the number of years you going to own the car. However, it is the additional running cost that deters most people i.e higher road tax, insurance...etc.
Mine doesn't comes with it (It's a BK model) and on occassional uses the triptronic.

As for slightly better pick up, will the pick up, between 1.5k - 3k rpm be similar to the Altis /Civic 1.6 or 1.8 litre? Under pure city driving with medium footwork return 12km/Litre? Thanks.

Yeah agreed. but also thinking of how to ensure speedometer reading accuracy..

Wow 245 isn't it too wide? I think a 225 will be just nice .

The more layers applied, sure become very shiny but I was told that if car is white colour and apply more layers, over time there will be yellowing because of UV radiation on the layers. So I only asked for 2 layers of 9H to be applied. I did it elsewhere though.

Not too sure if you guys have problem with the Bulit-in Navigation system?

Since I upgrade the HU OS to ver 3.3, my HU constantly got the "SD card not valid" error and the system will crash and restart again. At first I thought nothing of it, but it is getting more and more frequent.

Also
I was thinking of upgrading the Maps on the SD using the Mazda tools, as there is a new upgrade. But worried about the warranty, anyone any idea? Anyone pay the extra 45+ USD to have the Navigation come with Traffic and weather updates?
I am tempted but not sure if is is worth it.

Anyone link up the HU with both "AHA" and "Sitcher" apps? I got both APPS installed, but it seem to be more orientated towards US or Australian podcasts. I was thinking of adding Mr. Brown podcast, but not sure how...

I got this very farnie experience with this car, was stopping on an up slope with the brake step on, for a moment the engine seem to stop like some sort of "hill start" assist. When I lift the brakes, it did not roll back. And when I step the accelerator and it move without sliding back. Quite intriging.

Finally, I was reading the manual on Auto-door lock, apparently there is a function whereby when you step on the accelerator, the door locks would be activate automatically. Anyone manage to find this function? Or is this option not available in Singapore model?
Your SD card is corrupted. Go update your SD card using Mazda Tools and the problem shld go away. Nxt time try not to power up the car and shut down within a very short time, I did that and got the SD invalid previously. Not too sure if you guys have problem with the Bulit-in Navigation system?

As for traffic update, save the money, it only works for JB. SG traffic seems to be not link with TomTom yet. I can only see JB traffics.
Yes our car have hill start assist, just don't take too long to accelerate, else after 2sec the brake will auto release and the car will roll backwards...
As for the auto lock, a Mazda tech in US told me that our authorised dealer's device shld be able to select the fuction for us. He recalls seeing it in the device menu once its hook up with the car. But I'm not sure if Eurokars know how to do it. Cos they tell me cannot... don't know if they even try to find it in the first place or just don't want to do it...

The insulator also suppose to slow down the thermal expansion of the hood due to the direct heat from the engine and thus pro-long the paint work on the hood. Rapid heating/expanding of the hood is not good for the paint work and more so for Skyactiv engines that has higher compression resulting in higher temperature in engine bay.

My old Hyundai's hood paint work do seems to be duller when compared with the rest of the car body after 6-7 years. Not sure if its due to the frequent rapid thermal expansion. Guess I can only tell after 6-7 years later when I look at my Mazda3 from now if this is the case.

I think it will be more apparent in cold country where the hood will receive higher thermal shock due to the bigger temperature difference once engine is started.

Potential problem with istop and MZD Connect. The problem started inlast December morningthat my wife facedresulting inthe car not able to start. Had to activate the road side assistance to jump start the car and drove to the dealer. Mechanic checked and couldnot find the problem. Earlier this week, when wife start the car in the morning, she noticed that the master cautionedsign light up [See attached image] The istop was flicking. So made appointment to bring the car in the next morning. In the evening, the istop totally stopped working. Next morning when she brought the car in for the mechanic to have a through check, they found that it is due to soft ware issue. They spend a couple hours updating to the latest version ofthe software. Will monitor if the situation arises again. Just sharing.

For those who are going to ask me what is the version. I can only tell you on Fri when I am there.

Wife collected the car in end Sept last year, and and the mileage is even lesser than yours. She only drives to and from work and clocks less than 150km/week. Till now her mileage just hitting 3k. I guess for this instance, will follow the 6-monthly regime since it is under-utilized. This car is so fugal in fuel consumption that she only pump once every 3 week. (Guess the other reason being less start/stop helps a lot although her car cc is 2.5 litre).

You can check Citibank car loan that has very low interest rate. But its like a DIY plan that u need to follow up with Citibank on your own as they cut the middleman commission. Depending on your loan amount, do the math and compare interest saved vs the Mazda rebate, you may save $500-1K.

Thumb drive 3.0 is backward compatible. it will read at 2.0 speed. Portable HDD might be a problem if the head unit can only read FAT32 formats. You can just plug in the HDD and see whether it can read. You'll probably just get an error or nothing if it does not work, no need to worry that something will spoil,
Just to check for those travelling from MCE to ECP, does the Navigation system always end up switching to the KPE route at the Y-junction of ECP & KPE? The Y-junction on the map seems much nearer compared to the actual and plus the Navigation system also uses your car movement to estimate the car's movement in the tunnel, thus making the system thinks that you missed the left turn to ECP as you goes straight... I wonder if the v.33 will solve this issue as one of the changes is to allow the Navigation system to have more priority on the initial planned route. IMHO, it's a marketing strategy. For a new model, they probably wanted to createa market presenceover profits at that time. Oncethere is a steady flow of demand, they can adjust their price accordingly. That said, back then they probably didnt throw in extended warranty or3 years servicing etc.

Please read my thread.
Just borrow a USB3 thumbdrive, will test later and update.

USB 3.0 FAT32 formatted works just fine.
USB2.0 NTFS formatted cannot read.
I reckon if there is a external HDD that is FAT32 formatted, it will read just fine as long as it is USB 2.0.
USB 3.0 might need more current which the port cannot support.
Anyone try before?

Yes COE secured during last bidding. They allow cars to be collected on a Sunday or you make special arrangement?

Think so, I just asked if I can collect my car on Sunday...I guess it's up to individual SE then...

Interior colour leh?

I got COE from the 1st Feb bid but they told me no stock for the sedan deluxe titanium w/ off white interior... Said probably end of the month..

Yeah mine is off-white for interior too...
Hi Everyone,

How does the i-stop and i-eloop work? I have benn driving for the past 3 days but didn't see i-stop light up. I went to the command to check, it seems the battery is not charging at all. Did I miss out anything?
One more question, does M3 come with auto-lock function? I read in the manual that the doors will auto-lock once the speed hit 20km/h and above but mine doesn't seem to work. Do I have to set anything to trigger it?

When you brake, it generates power which will be stored in the capacity. You will notice suddenly the cabin is silent when you stop and then when you release the brake the engine will start again or if the capacitor's power is fully drawn, the engine will start again.

Sometimes if you brake too gently, there might not be enough charge or if your aircon is set to a very cold setting there might not be enough power in the capacitor to sustain so the engine won't cut off.

I think I read in earlier post from this thread that this function is not included in our local cars.

So did you get your COE in Jan?
Edited by 0pires7, 17 February 2015 - 10:26 AM.
My aircon is set at 24C. The capacitor doesnt seem to be charging at all, after a long drive its still at 1 bar. Could it due to my travel pattern mostly highways (80%).

How long or times of brake it requires to charge up the capacitor?

after car fully stop, step harder on the break again to activate the i-stop, rpm will drop to 0.
change gear to N and apply hand break, u can release foot break to have a rest, car will remain in i-stop.
when moving off, depress the foot break lightly, engine will auto start again.
enjoy your drive:)

Hi Maxzhang,

So if I step on the brake at stationary with gear at D, i-stop will not kick in?

The i-Eloop should be able to charge up the capacitor to full bars when you brake for about 7-8secs. But do note that the discharge is also quite fast, maybe in minutes..

Once you step on the brakes, you should see the i-Eloop charging up.. unless your speed is less than 15km/hr, which the i-Eloop will not kick in.

And yes, if you travel on highway, where you dont need to brake a lot, the i-Eloop will not charge up that fast.

i-Stop and i-Eloop are two different features... i-Stop don't charge the capacitor, it only helps to save fuel by stopping the engine at traffic lights. Stepping on the brake when car is stopped will trigger i-Stop to temporary stop the engine.

i-Eloop charges the capacitor when you step on the brake when the car is moving. This trigger the brake regenerative system to convert kinetic energy to electricity... i-Eloop will stop when car slow to speed below 15km/hr and does not charge anymore when car is stopped.

For those that are keen, found the Hood Insulator on Japanparts.comback on sale, but this is a 15 pieces deal. After adding shipping cost and dividing it by 15, each pcs cost around S$67. Those that are keen can find 14 other guys to share a group buy, its much cheaper compared to when I bought a single Insulator which cost about $100 with shipping cost. Just sharing (I've no dealing with Japanparts). Cheers.

I've also installed the original hood insulator for my Mazda3. It is able to reduce engine's higher frequency noise.

I bought the parts separately from Japan, USA and SG. Below are the part numbers required:

1) B45A-56681 - Hood Insulator,S$78 (6,800 Yen) bought from Japanparts.com and the shipping to SG cost additional S$30. I can't find this part in SG and also I try to find it again today on Japanparts.com but think out of stock, can't find it any more. However, there is another online store in Europe is selling this at a higher price of S$110 (65.93w/o shipping).

2)TD1156694 - Plastic Fastener, S$1.50 each (need 10pcs) bought from Fong Yat Motor (Blk 685 Race Course Rd. #01-324). Just give the uncle the part number and he will find for you.

3)GHP9-569Z1A andGHP9-56-9Z2B - Left and right square rubber protector, US$1.50 each, bought at mazdapartsfactor.com when I was in Texas. Not such if Fong Yat Motor have these as they are the same parts as the new Mazda 6.

Just to add that the two black square rubber protector seems to be optional, I cant find what is the purpose of them as they doesnt touch the engine bay body after closing the hood... not sure what is the purpose of them... lucky they only cost me US$1.50 each... ha ha

I drove my car really hard, and the whole cabin is filled with burning smell. The smell from where? Clutch?

I do get it in my previous rides but only when I stepped out of the car.
Also any bro / sis experienced command reset during driving? I had it twice on the journey back, not sure if it's due to software or Bluetooth.
Looks like need to go back AD for a check
Just wanted to share some amazing thing happened to me. Did not have a good start this week. Had a tyre puncture on Saturday. However, we met amazing people here in Australia. The tyre was puncture at the side wall, which meant no hope of repairing. So saw a shop opened across the street and immediately made a U-turn. As it was close to 1pm, it was closing time for the mechanic. However, they were helpful to pump up the my tyre it could last me the drive to the nearest tyre shop. At the tyre shop, couldn't find the tyre size for the car as it is too "new". They were kind enough to help me put on the space saver. All these were done without charges.
Come Monday, call all the available tyre shops that can be search and the only tyre available of similar size was from Goodyear F1. (The tyres that I had were Dunlop and because the car mileage was just 3000 km, the tyre was considered new, hence would make sense to just install 1 tyre rather than to change a pair). I had to call up the Business Manager of Mazda where I brought the car from and he asked to bring the car in to help me solve the problem. They managed to locate the tyre but needed to air-freight in the tyre, which would meant I had to be stuck with the space saver tyre for a couple of days. I asked if they could take a tyre off their existing new stock and change it over, and they could use the replace the tyre when it comes in and they oblige my request.

Today had to bring the car in for paint protection as my wife had accidentally scratch the rear quadrant and had it resprayed. So logically would have expected them to just touch up the rear quadrant. Instead they redo the entire car and the interior as well. The car is now as good as new .

Anyway just some picture i took showing the instruments, and car with the city night background and the ADD(HUD)

I confirmed my i-eloop and i-stop are not working. Driving back from work and no matter how hard I stepped on my brake, i-stop was not activated. Went to command to check, there was 0% from the capacitor. Checked the i-eloop page, battery only at 1 bar since day 1.

Hi

I did have similar problem. Send it back to AD to have the battery replaced.

The syndrome is similar where the ieloop is not working as the battery was not conditioned. ie battery not stable or full. My unit was actually a showroom unit so i suspected that the battery was always disconnected and was not charged. Everything else was working fine. When in the fuel saving app, you will see that the battery was never come on where the aircon and engine did. After they change the battery, it will need to drive for a day for the ieloop and istop to work. The car did somewhat feel more powerful with the ieloop working...maybe psycho...

But the way to all potential mazda owners, please ask the AD to to give you a better quality number plates. The ones given to me was a piece of plastic with a poorly done up numbers where the numbers background are not homogeneous. Not sure if other bros out there have this issue..
Hi,
Anyone upgraded their audio system ?
What did you do and whom did you go to ?
Added subwoofer ?
Thanks.
Stock sound system is quite good.

Good mid bass and highs..

Mids a bit lacking unless you are a vocal man...

I keep the bass and treble to just 1 notch above zero...and volume at 20 or 30..depending on the songs..

Radio quality so so only..don't tune the bass and treble for the radio or it will sound like crap for the cd or usb...

Ya, same here, its a piece of plastic and you can see the darker tape lines across the numbers' greylish white coluor... I ask for emboss type number plates initially, but was told that its not LTA approved type...

Thanks Rexus, it rings a bell then cos mine is also a showroom unit.
i notice the quality for my number plate is raelly lousy. mine is a off peak one tho. i accidentally kissed someones butt when i do not want my istop to kick in ie not stepping hard enough and my car kissed the car in front. my number plate bent. luckily the front do not have any scratches or dent.

Huh? You mean when you were about to kiss someone ars, you still got time to consider the istop thing?... Normal driver would only consider can stop before hitting or not and nothing else.... Looks like all these gadgets created drivers with lacking in basic instincts... Hehehe
The hood insulator for those who are interested...
And yes, my car plate has the unsightly line across it too

Australia Mz3 new users reported receiving there ride with v51.00.300... wonder when will we get this version updates. Its a big jump from the current v31 or v33...

Hi guys, I know that the free servicing will include the basic labour and parts (eg. engine oil, oil filter), but does anyone know if the free servicing will also provide air filter, cabin air filter, and spark plug free too?

So Eurokars won't follow the Mazda planned service maintenance packages for the first 60K km? Every time we go for free servicing is just change oil and oil filter till 60K? The rest of the maintenance items need to pay? Doesn't sounds right leh....

Should be whatever is covered in the maintenance schedule. My previous VW ride was like that. If Eurokars was worst then VCS, I am going to regret my purchase...
