higher comp having more power/torque is true. But often, it makes the peak figures at higher rpm.

The reverse is true for lower comp.

i c i c. smthg new about lower comp - always thot higher comp = more pwr.

[thumbsup]Yup...this car will be perfect with abit more low-end torque...no choice must rev to 3k rpm & above at low gears...but fc suffer... [:(]. Best fc when rev <.2.2k rpm.

Bro, did you place the passenger scuff plate wrongly to the driver side? Mine dont have wording, but I thought the wording shld be behind rather than forward?

both piece of scuff plates are the same. so if i were to swap it to the opposite side, the wordings are in the opposite direction. my passenger side wordings are behind. now im thinking if i should remove the scuff plates. haha. does yours stick very well onto ur inner car?

I've update my Navigation SD card with Mazda Toolbox recently. Today is the first time I take MCE and found out that there is no MCE data in the GPS. Like to check with the rest if the original GPS map has MCE? Not sure why the updates using Mazda toolbox dont have MCE inside... thks.

Could it be that they gave you 2x passenger side scuff plates? My driver side and rear doors plates fit nicely. The passenger door plate was made for non i-Eloop model, so the front is slightly smaller abd I have to bent out the edge to fit it in. Now all fit nicely.

perhaps they gave me both passenger side scuff plates. but i gotten it from taobao.so its slightly troublesome too to request them to change it. well. will just make do of the scuff plates. hope people dont realise the passenger and driver scuff plate are in the opposite direction.

where is the mzd toolbox u guys are talking about? how do u update the sd card. my SE told me nothing about the mzd toolbox

yes. Send to awarehouse in US(local agent)andship to Singapore. Bought it on impulse. [bigcry]

Alternatively, I discovered Amazon also have a few (NOT ALL)of the items; Free shipping & Delivery to S,poreif you order >=US$125

I got most of the interior and exterior items via taobao: -

    1. http://detail.tmall....?id=41865931591(Most damage from this dealer; gd service; they alsothrow in freebies.
    2. http://detail.tmall....?id=39682528836(Avg service, but price quite competitive.)
    3. http://item.taobao.c..._u=526p8ig221dc. (Ordered from them, but they could not ship to Singapore; need a third party to ship to Singapore.

How do you buy from Mazda USA? From the website?

Yeah, same here.. So the issue is that the map is not updated.. heard that this not-so-updated map was around since the first stocks of M3 was delivered to Sg.. so i think nothing has changed ever since..

Any contacts that sell such reliable and compatible refills at reasonable price?

To tell the truth i haven read the manual yet.. haha i just left the black folder in the glove compartment the day i got the car.. paiseh didn't ask them abt the programming of auto lock but i thought i didn't want it since in order to unlock i'd have to flick the lock as there is no switch for easy lock/unlock above the window switches..

I tried again today and the GPS location really is moving at the correct location inside MCE, where there is no GPS signal. When I exit and join ECP, the GPS location also joined the same ECP location... it is either:

    1) M3 has Inertial Navigation Sys built in (unlikely, as such system is not cheap)

    2) There is MCE map in the GPS, but some how its not displayed, but the GPS switched to prediction mode following the hidden MCE tunnel in the map. (more likely, as normal TOMTOM GPS map already have MCE in their map and M3 uses TOMTOM)

If I go back for 5k servicing, and they still tell me the same "monitor" first bulls**t, I'm gonna make a fuss. So obvious, the sound so loud, whats there to monitor?

Hi, I'm not driving a M3 but generally if the car is in warranty (moreover from AD), car owner don't have to wait until next servicing. Try raise the issue/complain again to ask them to check. I think for safety first. cheers ^_^

How long it stop depends on how fully charged is the capacitor. But, bear in mind that capacitor is not like battery as it charges & discharges quite quickly, which is good for city driving. I think savings would be over time, probably btw 4 to 7%, you can check it out with the Fuel Economy Monitor.

Mine sometimes can stop throughout, especially at night. What aircon temperature did u set? If set too low, the istop will start the engine very fast. You can go to the Fuel management monitor page and the iEloop page to see what is the cause of the short stop. There are 3 icons there to show engine, battery and aircon. If the icon is not glowing, that means that item is the cause.

My car do have the nock nock sound. It's not on all types of bumps that will have. Only those super high like in JB kind. I heard the nock sound. There's just that one nock. It doesn't go nock nock nock.

Your aircon temp is set too low... mine is at 25deg only...

All cars when going over bumps will have some damping noise as the shock absobers are working. Need to differentiate from the nock nock sound.

it soundexactly like the nock nocksound one of us posted in the video. but not all speed bumps willl have. i only encounter twice at the same bump in jb yesterday cos no carpark lot so made 2 turns and went across the bump twice. but it doesnt go nock nock nock. it only has 1 nock sound. still at my 500km only.

does our m3 have this function to search for car? like press the button on the alarm and the car horn goes on? anybody knows?

    Hi bro,

The Dok Dok sound is still there, more like faint jiggling noise when turning at low speed or travelling at slow speed at grated roads. Most prominent when there is a sudden up slope.
I should be going back there in about 2 weeks time when my mileage reaches 5000km.
I will give leng kee one more chance if not I will go back to UBI.
Don't think it is that serious. It might be due to the lack of lubrication of the top mount bearing.
It was rather similar to my previous rideoncoiloverswhich was using a pillow mount ( and metal top hat), which sounded more awfully whenthey got shot. I am rather surprised Mz3 comes with rubber top hats with metal bearing as well.
Please see the link here for more info.

Scenario: knock sound before up a hump and a knock sound when down a hump.
To follow up with my knock knock sound repair: first repair was to replace arm bushing and top mount damper/rubber at Ubi. A soft knock knock sound remain . ( confirm with the same tester today) Today they did a insulate FRT COIL SPRING as written in my tax invoice. So far going thru a few hump, it had been good. Will update again in 2 week time.

I stop is design to save fuel accumulative on long term. If the temp is set too low, cabin temp will try to be met at all times, resulted I stop being cut off. If the cabin temp is set to lowest and blower to full I stop will not work. As for myself, my temp is set at 26degree and I stop can last 2 min when it's fully charged. I do notice I stop dun work that long during a warm day..

Agreed...i would not recommend this car to anyone because i am starting to see more on the road....becoming a common sight [:p]

I am glad the main problem encounter by most drivers is the sound they hear when going over hump and not a flashing "D", problematic throttle body, killer airbags, etc. At least our problem can be solved easily by replacing some bushings. I guess it did not bother me much because I have my favourite music on most of the time when I drive over humps and I do not have the habit of turning the volume down before i going over a hump.

Anyway, I doubt i could hear it anymore even if i try because Eurokas has replaced the bushings during my recent service appointment ...FOC [thumbsup]

Given that there are so many technologies advances that are built into M3 compared to other car makes, like high compression 14:1 engine on normal octane fuel, new generation powerful transmission, high rigidity but light body, increased torque in low-mid rpm, excellent fuel efficiency, advance i-Stop, brake regenerative power i-Eloop, etc.. I think a nock sound, though tarnish the M3 perfect image, it shld not be blown out of proportion and overshine all these advantages. (Lucky my M3 don't have nock sound)

Tried a few more days using GPS thru MCE, it seems like there is some kind of INS (Inertial Navigation System) buit into M3. Because sometimes when I exited the MCE, the GPS position is slightly off the actual position, sometimes its almost on the same location when it reacquired the GPS signal. [drivingcar]

Anyway there is another update of Southeast Asia maps when I log in to Mazda Toolbox this morning, updating now and will check it out on Mon if the MCE is included in this update. :D

Read that for the Sky AT, instead of only relying on the torque converter, it has clutch plates.
In transmitting the power, the clutch plates plays a primary role while the TC plays a secondary role.

Anyone bro here who previously driven a 6AT car like Elantra can comment on the 2 respective GB(s).? TIA.

Every A/T got clutch plates,it is only Mazda Skyactiv A/T "Lock-up" very fast,so that you got a direct feel, almost like DSG,but the down side is a bit more jerky....Elantra gearbox is the same as Kia K3,it is smooth, but not so fast shifting....Mazda gearbox also upshift in very low rpm to save fuel.

To all who wants to update to V33.

I just updated mine after complaining that my Infortainment gets hang twice after my 5K service to 10K service.

They mentioned that V33 just came out and updated mine to V33.

After came out from workshop, i realized that if you used to listen to MP3 thru USB and with shuffle mode on. This feature will be disable every time you off and start your engine / module. so you need to enable the shuffle mode ever time you on your engine, otherwise, the MP3 will just running as sequence as per the file.

So far the rest of the thing are the same. not realized anything changes for this update.

The update doesnt affect the map version regardless of new or old.

Mine is old version and cannot be update anymore (MCE is not in the database)

I will feedback again if i found anything different for the newer version.

    Another update.

For those who going to 20K servicing, the charges will be S$382 exclude GST subject to change.

They only change E/O , A/C Filter , Oil Filter only + Tighten of some parts. The rest of the thing are fall into "Inspection"

I also changed the bushing after complaining about the abnormal sound from my absorber (Front) but i will monitor again. My previous problem was, after heavy rain, the abnormal sound will be occur only over a hump. Normal dry road over hump has no problem.

These few days no rain, so i cant confirm is the problem resolve or not. Anyway, after changing it, everything is like normal as unchanged like that. hope they really resolve this problem to me.

Today, Idrove into Ubi Service centreand looked for Koh to feedback on the "NOCK NOCK" when over a hump and "TICK TICK" on left front panel while cruising uneven road.

They changed the lower arm bush and insulate the coil spring for the (left and right). So far...ok.

But the "tick tick" sound still persist (though the noise is "faint"after they lubricate and adjust panel)

    Will monitor and update again!

Changed the lower arm bushing for the 2nd time and the Strut mount with the bearing.

Well, after driving for some time, I still can hear the faint jingling sound on rough roads.

Probably, the spring are on the stiffer side and that is why the sound is inevitable.

Perhaps, insulation of spring will really work

Any one using Saris Bones 2 or 3 on your 5-door hatch?

Main concern is the straps over the spoiler...and when fully loaded would the straps damage it?

I thk shld black out. Better check bro.

I too found out something today. Never had to use the 12V outlet, and when I tried to plug a car vacuum last night... Didn't work. I thought the vacuum was faulty since car new rite..changed another unit and still dead. Just had 10k Svc.. So will be quite long time til next round.

The 12V outlet shd work when car is running or when the battery power is on. If not, then maybe shd get it checked.

    Hi all,

Need some advice from the gurus here.

Been driving my new Madza 3 for about 2 weeks.1k servicing soon to come. In the past 2 days, I noticed that the digital odometerdisplay (at the bottom left portion of the driver console) still shows the distance (stilldimly litup)even I turned off the engine. I think by right everything should be blacked out when I switch off the engine? I wonder is this normal or something is wrong with the display.

    Any bros can advise?

Normal, together with the alarm LED,these used very little energy,no worries..

Check the vacuum plug length, is it short? The 12V outlet on our M3 is deeper than normal. My Griffin USB charger also cannot work on M3 as the charger is too short. Changed to a longer length USB charger and it works. [sweatdrop]

    Traded in my Mz original 16 x 6.5jj rim to 16 x 7jj rim.
Can't get back the Mz logo cap because the boss need them to sell my Mz rim off as a set.
Me change 16" to 16" is because I wanna use back my original tire. Also rim offset from original +50 to
aftermarket rim +38. Now whole setup looks better. Doesn't have the sunken rim/tire look anymore. If you know what I mean.

What are good rim brands? Where can i preview the designs online? Which shop is trustworthy/honest ? Sorry am a noobie on this. What size tyres did you fit? Was there significant reduction in pickup of the car? Thanks.

    Yar .... hehehe ...

anyway, the original toyo tires I find very noisy for its performance but they are quite good.

Further to what i reported for 5k servicing that a Mr. Koh from UBI had changed the front right strut bushing and isolate the spring, all has been well. On the hindsight, the small little creaking sounds in the cabin is more obvious.

After driving it for a while, I found that the car is less fidgety (like the steering is trying to fight your input and gets easily agitated) on high speed on the highway and the usual corners were made made easier to take with confidence.

I urge all those who had the "TOCK TOCK" sound to rectify the issue and feel what the designer had originally intend the car to handle.

    Thanks.

depends on distance travel ... can hit 5l/100km or less if cruising without stopping at constant speed for > 30km.

RPM should be about 2000rpm i think at 6th gear.

    Kiddies

Bring driving for the past 3 months, so far can achieve FC of5.5-6.1L/100km (Avg) per full tank.

    I observed RPM of approx. 2.2K - 2.5Kwhile cruising between 90km- 130km.
