If you car is white, I found that it would be easier than other colours to do minor touch ups.

Still, may the culprit learn his lesson somehow. I really wonder why there are such people in the world.

Such problems as well as hit and run or breaks ins, are the worry of those who have new or expensive cars parked in public car parks. It would be worse if they have to be away overseas for some time.

One solution is to have friends or relatives living in safer places like condos which have excess car parks. These are usually the older condos or privatised HUDCs. You can make an arrangement with the management, and pay for the parking for that period. Gives you peace of mind.

    Wow that's really hard work.

When I was at Tesco Extra Tebrau City on 30 September, a stall is selling this anti scratch polish and they will demonstrate at your car. It also cleans up old headlights. They had a car bonnet to demonstrate too. But since I don't need it, I didn't ask to see the demo. Unfortunately they don't have a business card. It must be some kind of product promotion.

Not far is Autobaccs. Perhaps they also carry the product. Can't remember the product name.

Catch already also no use. It's civil case.. Time consuming and the outcome might cost a lot more if you had just resprayed on your own.

True, but putting the culprit's picture on the nets would be a good retribution for him!

for 1k servicing, they said to sent in by 1 pm and potentially collect at 5.30pm (afternoon slot). However, at 3pm they said can collect from 3.30 onwards. Guess the extra time is a buffer in case they need to touch up on something. did not have the luxury to hang around that day.

Anyone know if it's illegal to mount the plate at the side in Singapore? Nice hor?

This pic shows how it looks like

My first task when I get my car is to relocate the front license plate. There are lots of stuff I want to do too and I will definitely take time to take pics to show u guys...

Anyway I am getting from overseas this "no holes" relocator... No need to drill holes in your bumper. The shipping cost is quite expensive so if anyone wants to tag along to save shipping, drop me a pm. Take note that I am not affiliated with the vendor in anyway and I don't earn a cent, just doing the community a favour for those who like to relocate the plate. (See picture below)

im interested but what to we do with the existing carplate in the middle of the grill? can it be removed?

Just unscrew with a normal screw driver then screw it onto the relocator.

After that there will be two holes in the grille. (See pic below)

The solution.... Just plug the holes in with black plastic plugs.
I have done my homework already, there is this site that sells it http://www.bumperplu...6&product_id=86

A cheaper alternative is get from hardware shop or aliexpress.
    http://www.aliexpres..._11_12,201560_1

The aliexpress one I don't know if will fit but it's cheap.

Blocking airflow, voiding warranty or getting fined honestly does not bother me one bit. Life is too short to worry this or that. I do what I want with my car because it's mine. That's my belief. No offence to any well meaning bros here, I appreciate your good intentions ...

I think there is a technical reason why the number plate is placed there & not like Mz6.

Mz3 grill is half sealed ie from the number plate down. The only airflow is top half of grill & opening at the skirt.

If Mz6 grill is also half sealed, then you have a good point.

Having coe doesn't mean ur car is registered. Only when ur car is here and clear LTA before it can be registered successfully. So ur registration should be nov too. That's is based on my situation too. Coe before collection.

Std should have 4-speakers I think.

Be careful about relocating the license plate down there. It blocks the lower air intake.

It might be your car and all, and it's up to you what to do with it, but blocking airflow means you are reducing the amount of air your car gets for combustion, breathing and cooling.

The location will not affect warranty. The air flow in fact is blocked somewhat by the present location of the plate, covering part of the radiator. But with such a big radiator area, I supposed it's ok.

The relocated position not only looks good, but more efficient. It should have been provided in the first place.

But now........... too troublesome to change. Just live with it lah, for me.

    http://www.aliexpres..._11_12,201560_1

The aliexpress one I don't know if will fit but it's cheap.

Blocking airflow, voiding warranty or getting fined honestly does not bother me one bit. Life is too short to worry this or that. I do what I want with my car because it's mine. That's my belief. No offence to any well meaning bros here, I appreciate your good intentions ...

Can put your own bumper sticker where the plate used to be!

oh same COE timing. also got it Sep 9. what colour did you take? that time SE told me white will be faster but haha i like blue.....

The location will not affect warranty. The air flow in fact is blocked somewhat by the present location of the plate, covering part of the radiator. But with such a big radiator area, I supposed it's ok.

    Hope you are right.

The grill area below the logo, behind the number plate is sealed. Only opening is above the number plate. By design, the additional opening at the skirting is to supplement the airflow.

Well, blocking the airflow maybe a good thing in helping the car to warm-up faster in the mornings... :D:D

Well, like someone said, its your car, you can do what you want... [rolleyes].

Yes Mazda 6 grill is also half sealed..below the emblem is sealed.

Well, maybe Mz6 has bigger radiator, more powerful fans etc...which I trust Mz engineers have taken into consideration in the design.

Std should have 4-speakers I think.

Be careful about relocating the license plate down there. It blocks the lower air intake.

It might be your car and all, and it's up to you what to do with it, but blocking airflow means you are reducing the amount of air your car gets for combustion, breathing and cooling.

Thanks for the advice 7hm. Appreciate the friendly advice here on this community.

There is a car enthusiast in the US who actually did a test on the impact of the so called "blocked air flow", driving through tropics, heavy traffic jams that come to a standstill, slopes and twists, endless country roads and spirited driving. He hooked up with all sorts of digital ODB gauges permanently to monitor the engine's health. The conclusion is there is no significant difference due to the different location of the car plates. So to me the Mz 3's cooling system really deserve praise here.

But of course everyone is different, some are more cautious, some more willing to take risks, some care about aesthetics some care about functionality, some bother cleaning their cars daily, others don't care. That's what makes diversity on planet earth interesting!

Anyone did sound proofing on their ride already.. Just changed rims and tyres to Bridgestone GR100.. Very quiet tyres but still can hear road noise.. So I'm thinking of sound proofing wheel arch

Depends on how much of a 'rabbit ear' you are [:)]. I am pretty fussy about noise other them from the engine or exhaust, of course.. :D

For my case, I sound proof the bonnet, wheel arches, boot wall, front foot well, lower half of doors, parts of roof.

Its well worth the effort as I find its much quieter now, not quiet a Lexus though :D.

Can't get away from the thin body metal, thin glass (which unfortunately cannot sound proof )..

If it comes with the relocated plate area, then there would not be a need to seal the area behind the present number plate.

The bottom opening is actually for the Cool Air Intake. The 2nd generation Mazda 3, had the CAI relocated to the bottom. This is good when caught in a congestion like the kind you get at the checkpoints. Hot air rises, so the engine gets cooler air.

But, it is a hazard if you are caught in a flood, even at the level of half of your wheel.

I know of a Ford Focus whose aluminium engine cracked because of that.

But, most cars are now like that, perhaps because of the rarity of flooding. Or perhaps make good business!

Anyway, thanks for your input. I don't do any modification to my car usually. Too much hassle. But for this one, just a simple stainless steel scuff plates, because it doesn't come with them.

    Hey All,

Made my booking in July and finally secured my coe on the 5th bid on Wednesday. Reason why took so long is because i wanted Titanium Mica and there's no stock (Sales guy told me October shipment). Anyone same situation as me?

I ordered the standard version and my Sales guy was good and upgraded to 8" Lcd player with gps and reverse sensor. And that's not all, he also throw in a front cam and window tint for me. And btw, the price was further bargained to 98k ;).

Hopefully my shipment is already in (that's why they made effort to win the coe 5th bid) and i can collect within the next weeks!

Actually I think is Pro and Cons bah.. The mazda aftermarket LCD retails for $1,888 by AD, is 8", one inch bigger screen than stock mzdconnect, also got extra SD Card and USB slot for media storage, and the maps software is by local company Galatico, which has more local data points like parking info...
Stock mzdconnect is better at displaying integrated car settings, has the command controller knob but you can also add a local aftermarket version for $180..

actually i didnt know that there's aftermarket LCD screen that can be installed, otherwise i may decide to save that 7k...

but then again, i love the cruise control, originally factory fitted leather seats and electric seat function...and hopefully i will never ever need the 4 airbags...

other stuff can be installed at a cost e.g. HID lights (illegal) but without auto leveling...

i went to respray the scratch that son of a bitch did to my 1mth old car, but the feeling is different...

made a police report to ask them to setup patrol.

upsize my memory card to max size (to record longer duration).

and will see if i can install 2 more side camera to catch that b**tard. i will paste his picture all over the neighborhood.

yup, i've seen on a chinese forum how they do it. expect the process to be somewhat similar in singapore. i wouldn't dare to have such a major operation done on my car now...

saw a thread before... but the installation process looks tedious.

it even comes with a fake mzd connect-lookalike knob.

edit: I realise this chinese thread is almost one year old so someone else may have seen it before. sorry if it has already been shared.
