LOL...... you having halloween party there too? [gossip] :a-happy:

Jokes aside, been there, it is a very tranquil place. I think helped in no small parts by it's inaccessibility to non-driving school kids. [laugh]

My favourite fishing spot .... [bounce2][smash][bounce1]

totally agree. Very serene and calm there.

Great lookout onto the sea from the hill.

From the hill, I look down on those cars parking at the lots ...

Very sexciting happening inside the cars ...

Why you only look at the sea ? Want to look at sea, you go to Changi Coaster Road beaches, Sembawang Park, Admiralty Park,East Coast Park or West Coast Park. :yuush:

Yesterday I met a siao rang at Bendeemer food centre.

His hair was long and clothes look a bit dirty. He was sitting at one of the chair at the hawker centre. I didn't detour because I though he was poor and didn't want to make him feel that we look down on them.

As I was walking towards his direction and saw him staring me and when I walked pass him, he quickly sketched his leg out hoping to trip me over. Quickly I was alert and I quickly jumped. If not, I'll fall.

Really siao leh him. Next time I will walk far far if I see him again.

Throughout the whole article I was trying to see the film-maker's view point
    ..this says it all:

"I took myself out of the comfort zone to address the issue from a different point of view. I don't have a view myself. Because the humanity behind the issue is so much more complex," said Boo, whose semi-autobiographical first feature Sandcastle was a hit at the French festival in 2009.

How can a director be without view point? If so, the whole film is kind of pointless?

He does not have his own view (for or against hanging) personally (because of the many complexities and humanity issues behind it) but took himself out of that comfort zone to address this story from a different point of view, that of the ppl/person behind the noose.

So there is your view point. Or maybe he DOES have a slant, but doesn't want to say it out in the interview just to be PC.

Why so many people keep saying its in Singapore? From the train doors can see it is not the same as our MRT already. Even the seats also different. Our standing cabin, doesn't have these kind of seats. Only have the metal railings to lean/hold on.

Man jailed 2 weeks for attacking construction worker who was slow to give up train seat
The Straits Times, Thursday, May 19, 2016
SINGAPORE - A 49-year-old man punched and kicked a construction worker on an MRT train when he failed to give up his seat quickly enough to an elderly lady.
Chin Poh Heng, an odd-job labourer, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two weeks' jail on Wednesday (May 18) to one charge of causing hurt, with one previous charge of criminal intimidation taken into consideration.
On Sept 2 last year, near midnight, Chin was on the train going towards Newton station in the same cabin as Chen Zongxi, 32, a Chinese national. Mr Chen was sitting on a reserved seat and had drunk several cans of beer before the journey.
When an elderly lady boarded the train, Chin asked Mr Chen to give up his seat to her.
Chen then told Chin he needed time to stand up, due to the alcohol he drank.
Chin was agitated by Mr Chen's slow response and punched the left side of his head several times, leaving bruises. He also kicked him the stomach.
District Judge Hamidah Ibrahim noted Chin's history of related offences, including a similar charge of causing hurt in 2010.
For his offence, Chin could have been jailed for up to two years and fined up to $5,000.

Madam Tan Teck Soon says, for 26 years, she has paid the Housing Board $277 each month - mortgage instalments for the three- room flat that she lives in.

She paid over $117,000, including upgrading costs and conservancy charges, said the 76-year-old canteen vendor, but she might soon have to leave her home. In March, she said, she learnt her granddaughters were trying to sell the flat.

To stop this, she has sued both Ms Michelle Ng Li Xuan, 26, and Ms Isabella Ng Su Xi, 25.

The case is pending in the High Court, and the two sides met for a pre-trial conference on Tuesday, said lawyer Chia Boon Teck, who is representing Madam Tan pro bono.

Family dispute no ending story- Probably the ex-husband pay for the flat for the old lady to stay. But the funny thing why the flat is in the name of the grand children. On trust for her- the lesson learn- always put your name in the title deed as tenant in common regardless of who pay for the flat.

In short, the old lady is just the tenant for free- I think the grandchildren will win the case given property law have to be written in Black and White.

As for the old lady claimed of loaning money- very hard to prove as the person is already dead.

Most probably the court will rule in favour of the grandchildren with the proceed of the flat to pay rental for the old lady.

if the old lady has proof that she made payments to HDB then got case to fight.

e.g giro. or receipt of payments to hdb.

if not then most probably grandkids win.

seems rather sad though to go to court with the grandma over money. it's a roof over her head after all.

Ms Ng said the flat was an asset passed down to both sisters by their father, which they should be able to sell, and they had offered Madam Tan an alternative place to live - with Ms Isabella Ng at her upcoming BTO flat in Choa Chu Kang.

i feel it is just a case of old lady does not want to shift house.... while grand daughters wanna cash out the assets...... i don't think it has anything to do with fillal or unfillal as they have already offered her a place to stay

my own grandma has her own flat with a room rented out to others but still insists that some of her daughters ( my mum and my god mother) to leave a room empty in each of our house for her to stay as and when she likes, which is not even once a month...... if we refuses she will say we are abandoning her.... so i am incline not to believe the old lady in the news report

Be careful about adding family members as joint-owners of your HDB flat, Halimah warns
    By The Independent - May 19, 2016 16 12995
Writing in her Facebook yesterday, Speaker of the House Madam Halimah Yacob recounted two cases she saw at her Meet-the-People-Session (MPS) which caught her attention.
    Case 1
It concerned a resident whose husband died a few years ago and, upon her friends advise, she included the name of her unemployed son as the joint owner although the flat was already fully paid for. She now wants to remove his name because he is abusive and stopped her other children from visiting her.
Madam Halimah said: But its not so simple because she had made him the joint owner.
    Case 2
A resident felt cheated because his brother had persuaded him to transfer their deceased fathers flat to him but now that the resident is ill and wanted his share back, his brother refused. He claimed that he was cheated by his brother and the agent.
    Sad Stories
Madam Halimah said that both are sad stories but both transactions were carried out legally and cannot be unscrambled just because thats what the aggrieved party wanted.
The point to note is that even when family relationships are involved, it is always wise to think carefully and consult widely first on the implications before signing anything, she said.
She added: One cannot always assume that because there is a family relationship involved, people will honour their obligations. Often, such transactions are the most difficult to untangle.
    HDB say
The Housing and Development Board (HDB) recommends including working family members as joint owners if they are facing financial difficulty, so that they can help service the loan with their CPF savings.

grandma pass away left a flat for auntie many years ago..... auntie A (now 70+) and very sickly and suppose to be fed daily medication, went to will the flat to another auntie B (50+) of mine.... auntie B divorced but has son... stays with Auntie A since no place to stay....... A after willing flat to B, B brought her boyfriend home.

Auntie A sickness relapse.. brought to hospital.... doc say because A has not been taking medicine...... which means B has not feeding her medicine..... when we went to A place to get her belongings, we found furniture all changed, A bed also thrown away and in place is a lot of B's boyfriend items. Cupboard all B and boyfriend items.......... quite obvious they assume that she would not be bad........

Luckily managed to convince A to change her will and get lawyer to go to hospital to change her will to let 2 relatives to hold the flat and any monies in trust... with some allocated to her son for his education
