Hi guys.. Just an update.. Ive secured my coe today. SE promised me 6bid guaranteed. End up first bid got it. SE bid at 49,999. Car should be out next week.. Glad to join the K3 family!!!

    teomingern

Bro if you don't get the guaranteed bid package , it will be the same scenario no matter what car u booked. You are just wasting time waiting for bid. For non guaranteed, it means u predict Coe to drop. If predict Coe raise, get guaranteed package.

I agree... when the COE prices keep appreciating, and if you must get a car, then guaranteed is the way to go... Komoco bidded $49,999, Volkswagen bidded $55,000.... my sister got her VW in one bid... they are out to sell cars to dispel the fuel testing scandal I think...

Yes, full sized sports rim spare tyre. Not the steel hub type.

Ya lor. If he keep booking for non guaranteed package, and if Coe prices keep going up , wait till cows come home also never get car. It's not the matter of whether book Kia or Mazda or Hyundai. It's whether you are willing to pay.

Am not really a fan of the new facelift, that new look is better suited for a larger car i feel. too squarish.but each to his own I guess.anyway last heard will come in july, not sure if there's any more recent update to this.

K3 also got hump middle for rear seatsmah...not totally flat. K3 facelift only difference is front & rear end. Interior still same except for D steering iirc.

Agree with you. Even BMW cars still have the hump at the back, think becos they are rear wheel drive. Uncomfortable for the legs to sit in the middle back seat.

But my previous Civic FD is totally flat. Flatter than our K3. But good enough.

No one consider the K5 Optima? Went for a test drive. I thought it was much better than K3 overall. So far, only saw 1 K5 on the road since I test drove it in Mar. Seems like not a popular model. Did not buy it in the end as it was too large for me.

Yes, don't understand why Mazda still keeping the hump. Rear wheel drive no choice can understand, but they are not.

The body frame is stiffer less flex so the car drives better.

Bro, K3 and K5 both totally different category. You cannot compare both. It's like BMW 3 Series vs BMW 5 Series.

But it's a nice looking car. If wasn't in SG the car, COE and Road Tax so expensive, I would have gotta the K5.

Anyway, a lot of K5 on the road, but SilverCab. Those are K5, strip down version.

In terms of specs, this is one of the best around... choose the top end model F750 or X500 if you prefer an LCD screen. It's worth it.

I think it's over priced. I go for Lucky Car Polish, 3 layers of 9H too, at a quarter that price. Did it 3 months now, of cos no longer feels smooth like silk, but hydrophobic/beadseffect still there, it's much easier to wash, but i dont wash my car...too lazy...haha

You can also go back for maintenance at 25 bucks every few months too. If it can last for 3 to 5 yrs as claimed, i'll say it worth every penny.

Kia rims are heavier. Lighter and cheap rims will be SSW from Stamford tyres made in Taiwan. Rims plus tyres package very cheap. Kia 17" and SSW 18" are of the same weight. You can change to SSW 16" same weight as stock 15". If wanna get 17-18", you need to get forged wheels like Rays then it's extremely light and tough.

I did ceramic pro ... yes it is expensive ... glad i did it though cos my car is white ... easily dirty ... now can easily do own washing over wkend too. Once a month send back to shop for washing and touch up $14 only.

Point to note scracth resistant does not mean scratch proof. Had a minor 10cm scratch on my boot last week ... send it back to shop and scratch "removed" ?

It is scratch resistant depend how many layer being done...

I have a minor accident where I rear end the other party. My grille is slightly damaged and bumper slight scuffed up. Usually in the past I will have paint damaged, now they polish off the coating as my paint is still perfect and reapply and looks brand new again. No damage again. Well I did replace my grille though.

The reapply is free as it is a small area of damage. Excellent service.

Not too high. But you shouldn't drive this fast. Running in period only drive 70-80km/h.

No need really warm up. Start engine, wait for about 30 - 60 seconds, you are good to go.

Driving speed not more than 100 km/h is good. Try to drive at various speed as engine during first 1000 km needs to learn and adapt to various speed.

Sometime it's not really about the speed, is the RPM. As long as below 3000 rpm.

I heard there's an issue with power/pick up speed for first tank of fuel?

Power / pick up performance improve after 1K servicing IMO

go simulate the problem when u test drive with mechanic.. request that u wan a test drive with them to show them.

When i reverse, my brakes when step on has a tok sound as well.. first time i told the SE and end of the day came back mechanic told SE no issue found.. 2nd time I request test drive with mechanic and simulate then they got nothing to say and service the brakes. But the sound came back again. zzz

I went today and showed mechanic then they said today got no time. Gggrrr. Sending car in tomorrow morning. I read that many fortes have this steering problem. Is that true? Also, when turning fast it has a whining noise.

Your brakes "tak" sound happens to my previous ride. It's because the brake pads was not properly seated.

I dun have such issues, if they say alot have this problem they better fix it. Previously I had problem starting up the car. I had to push to N to start and they told me I'm the first and despite leaving car there, they couldnt simulate the problem. All tests showed ok. lol

The brake sound is small problem, my previous ride has it too. I just hate it when there is a problem and when I send in you have to cheeks to return it to me saying no problem found so never fix. If I can simulate it 100% of the time, how could it even be no problem? It simply meant you are the problem.

Lesson learnt, normal servicing, leave with SE. Problem rectification, get the mechanic to test drive with you regardless. I don't have all the time to come back and resolve the same problem over and over again.

Previously I also had steering alignment problem that the car is veering left despite my steering centered. They returned me say no problem as usual after a few visits. On my last visit, my tires has worn excessively on the left and the new reason is "oh, it is because your tires has worn out. Maybe you want to change tires with us?".

In the first place, how can tires worn out on one side if the alignment is centered. [smash] Changed new tires outside and went back show them same alignment problem exist, OLD or NEW tires.

Ya agree with u. They have problem in fixing problems effectively. My car sent in this morning at 10am and ready to collect at 2pm. They rectified the steering "chok chok" sound, lubricate & adjusted the column. But there's still a slight "tok", while turning the steering to the right very fast. I guess I will have to leave with it as I guess they couldn't fix it and I'm tired of keep sending car back and wait for one day. Maybe tell them to fix again during next servicing. Think you all should try? Off radio so that car cabin is quiet, and listen to steering see if there's any noise.

Previous PPS shd b remove entirely before applying new.

the guys should know how to remove it.

Depends on what u getting.. If the SX version, try all the features. Get your SE teach you all features. Then scratches on body, rims, fine lines on mirror/windscreen , if u opt for body kit, check the colour differences between the man body and the body kit.

If you also opt for the solar film, make sure got no bubbles.

Test horn, power window, and power mirror. I think thats about what i did ... hahaha..

I gotten my car during the last bid process. Total waiting time from COE closing date was exactly 7 working days as promised by SE. If you did not request for the zertona package i think should be earlier. COE close on 5/5. Collect car 16/5. the most excruciating 7 working days of my life. [drivingcar]

Went to C&C today and they couldn't figure out the slight "tok" noise when steering to the right. They said it's a small issue and time consuming to troubleshoot. Don't wanna dismantle and assemble parts on a new car. I guess have to live with it since it's not always ha e the noise , when tested with them the noise didn't appear. Gggrrr.

SX ah? Check the rear boot lip at different angles, sure got sticker marks. Paintwork above rear number plate sure chui. Bumper alignment.

Don't think will take that long. Mine ready 7 days cos got include weekends. It depends also the amount of add-ons that you had. Eg, dash cam , solar film , PPS etc.

    Dear BluBlak,
You said, "you quoted what Ive aldy said...a hump is a hump regardless high or not...unless its totally flat...dats the difference :a-bang:"

A lot of cars have those hateful "humps" in the middle of the back row. But KIA small hump is good like our forumer texted. Stiffens the chasis.

I hardly felt the extremely tiny hump. Does not disturb or intrude the comfort of rear passengers. For that, I appreci so much. Agree with you that "a hump is still a hump".

But I like it this way. It gives rigidity to the car body and leaves a small tunnel for whatever things that must pass from front to back. So the car can sit a little bit lower for better stability.

Accept yr comment and preference. Heard you. And still like it the way it is built

Yes agree with dragonflybleu, there is a difference between big and small humps. Let's not look in a sweeping perspective and ignore the minor details...

I've checked with my SE. He says its purchase under Uber or Grab scheme, 85% loan, 3.98% interest. Not recommended if not really using for Uber car as the regulation might change in future and your car will be affected if you are not really using for Uber.
