Ya... driving on PIE is terrible... couple with driverswho likes to tailgating closely...

See too much "kissing" happen on PIE... become a norm

bro Neko, can advise if you remove the existing small chrome trim before sticking on the new one? or do u just stick the A pillar trim over the existing?

For that chrome window trim, note that the small A pillar chrome trim (shape like v), the bottom portion may interfere with the small chrome trim already on your ride.

Hi bro, the one I bought was from taobao which is not v shape, meaning it is truncated. Best is u consult with some experienced installers to see if that chrome strip can be removed. Why not you try you can stick over it first?

haha i have contacted them... but now that I see the tao bao link, the Korea chrome trim costs at least 3x more than the Tao bao chrome trim!

will be trying for a refund instead of a replacement.

hi guys so we have collected our ride.

And notice one issue...it seems like sometimes the outside smell manage to get into the car.

E.g. we pass by a lorry and tehre is a metallic smell ...pretty sure it came from the outside.

Is this normal or did we turn on/off something wrongly?

I thought this problem only happens to old car??

    Pls help!!

    It's off.

The "U-turn arrow" is the air recirculation button.

If the light is off, it is sucking outside air.

Naturally it comes with outside smell.

add in this pic taken from sgcarmart.

the control for the aircon circulation within the car is 2nd button counting from the "Auto/Off" knob.

the light should be on to show that the aircon will be circulated within the car.

else, the air intake will be from outside the car.

I think auto recirculation is more than this. It has sensor to detect foul air and switch to inside air. When air is good then it switch back to outside air.

I have this feature in my A3 but I seldom use it because letting outside air in seems to cause more dusty interior. It is great feature though.

    Not for K3.

But certain conditions will make it switch to outside air automatically.

The details are written in the owner's manual.

the prices area really softening because of the lower COE. 6 bid guaranteed for sports model according the the latest price list at 115,999. That's similar to what the SX trim was a few weeks back, if you get the car registered before 1st July before the CEVS rebate is gone.

From past experience, installation of strut bars does help in increasing the stability of the car. As for warranty issues, C&C definitely can and will find fault with the aftermarket 'add-ons' should things happen to our cars.

In the past when it's locally cut then got issue of leakages. If it's only 4k premium over the other model then it's probably worth the additional outlay if budget is not a concern.

From past experience, installation of strut bars does help in increasing the stability of the car. As for warranty issues, C&C definitely can and will find fault with the aftermarket 'add-ons' should things happen to our cars.

Yes, I wanted to choose brown leather too, but SE told me only black/ grey is available. Was also told C&C not selling anymore SX after this batch. Only EX And SX Sports in future.

Additional 4k for HID, sunroof and full bodykit. IMO quite worth as it doesn't add in much to the monthly installment.

PMed my SE's contact no. to you. Can just call and ask him.

that you can askCheefaror perhaps the SE C&C?

Approx $1k but it really depends on the SE you talk to.

FYI, avoid Fulco dealer at Ubi even though you may stay near Ubi... I really wonder if they're serious in doing biz... the auntie SE I spoke to.... sigh... really CMI... She refused to even talk about customising my potential ride and to make an effort to make sure my FD1 resale price is enough for downpayment.

prob I look poor lor, and my FD1 looks stock from the outside... Prob she will serve me better if my FD1 has a cloth hanger spoiler behind and painted in bright orange.

    [smash][furious]

Always go to C&C showroom at Leng Kee instead for far better svcs.

Only the bodykit is locally fitted. The rest of the car came fully equipped from the factory. Great job C&C!

FYI, for Toyota, if you buy the Vios, Avanza, or even the Altis, the aircon is locally fitted too. [furious][hur][thumbsdown]This is yet another way to keep the OMV and to avoid being taxed higher. The parts are original but every Altis soldhere werelocally operated on at the fan belt area for the BM technicians needs to install the compressor/piping and to connect up the electronic climate control panel....

So will you pay more for a car with tons of locally fitted parts or will you prefer a car fully equipped from the factory?

the first 1k usually fuel economy is said to be not very good as the engine is running in. that's also why the SE should have told you to keep the RPM below 3-4k till till after the 1k service.

also depends on the amount highway vs city commute you do. I think mine when i did one all highway smooth smooth no stop, the best i had was about 13km per litre...that's about 7.7L per 100km, Haven't really been checking the trip monitor recently hehe....

also depends on your driving style... aggressive or smooth coasting hehe.... pumping 98 also gives better efficiency vs 95... at a more expensive cost of course...

What happen if we never keep RPM below 3-4k?

Did our 1k service recently..maybe need monitor. We also just change to 98 to try lol.

Mostly go work is expressway so 60-70% expressway no city driving..only neighborhood lol.

Seriously bro, modern engines are already 'broken in' at the factory. The need to keep the RPM low is really a myth rather than a real need these days. In fact, if you want a proper breakin, you shouldn't keep at a constant RPM for long. You should rev across the board (well maybe not to 5000rpm) frequently so let the moving parts get into their normal working positions

What if you drive that POS Toyota Avanza? That thing was a delivery van with rear seats and due to the weak 1.5L, Toyota's uses really short ratios for the ancient 4AT. The engine was spinning like 3600rpm in OD(!) at 100km/h. So if we were to keep below 3000rpm, that Avanza will be stuck in the left lane hogging the road..... Not that it wasn't already la.. LOL

Always use ~W-20fully syn oil for max fuel economy and protection. Make sure all 4 wheels are properly inflated and fully aligned at all times

The running procedures are detailed in the K3 manual :) Rev freely between 2k and 4k RPM, and don't stay on an RPM for too long. Main thing is to work the engine.

ha... really urban myth ah.... even the Kia owners handbook says stay below 4000 RPM for the 1st 1000km... the SE told me stay below 3000 RPM. I drive up the RPM when i have to overtake or lane change, but keep it below 4000 usually.

The "proper break in" i thought is more of going at different speeds and not sticking to one speed like 60km/h all the time.

extract of the owner manual below.

No special break-in period is needed. By following a few simple precautions for the first 1,000 km (600 miles) you may add to the performance, economy and life of your vehicle.
     Do not race the engine.
While driving, keep your engine speed (rpm, or revolutions per minute) between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm.
Do not maintain a single speed for long periods of time, either fast or slow. Varying engine speed is needed to properly break-in the
    engine.

I'm sticking to the default engine oil provided by C&C for now since under the service plan for 3 years.

Darn it. I had asked my SE whether there is an option to get HID on the K3, and "no" was the answer. That was just two, three weeks ago; I collected the car end May. And now, HID comes standard. Disappointed somewhat.

same for me... well.... at least we got to enjoy the car earlier... good things come to people who wait i guess with the benefit of hindsight.

maybe joining the CEVS rush wasn't a good idea now that Sports SX become the standard SX and price keep falling hehe

Back then one month ago, I asked them whether got HID and they told me no, it's just projector with halogen, so I asked how come originally car got HID now don't have, can have?

He told me I can wait for new model with bodykit and factory HID... (the new sport trim)

Seems your SE either didn't know or want sale faster.
