    Good and convenient plug and play. The driver should be built in at the bottom of bulb. Make sure u have enough ventilation for it. Just try first as I was told that after market LEDs are not bright unless u get the type with CREE chip.

    30W 3000 lumen per bulb.

    I shared the link the other time. It has no drivers but come with heatsink and cooling fan. The bulb unlike the rest, the connector is the same as H7 bulbs. Those with drivers has a different connection cable to connect to the driver then from the driver with the H7 connector.

    it is cree, considered philips led but think i try this out first since all the bulbs are very very cheap anyway, gg to my audio shop to tune my ICE so buy along and get them to help me install along the way while trying different bulbs.

    If the LEDs face one side only, then you need a reflector bowl to collimate the light and throw it forward... does the original housing have that?

  • 08 July 2016 - 09:50 AM

    btw, i noted that the 3 leds are only on one side.

    the LEDs should be on both sides.

    means 6 leds on one bulb.

    haaa i see. the Driver is probably bulit into the round container below the heat sinks. clean design should make it easier for installatoin.

    looks good!

    during installation, the 2 sides with the bulbs should face left and right to get the proper light throw from our projection housings.

    3000 lumens each, total 6000 lumens. 30 watts each. conservative numbers are good, prevent overheating compared to the ambitions 10000 lumen 120 watts bulbs hehe

    What are the new stuff in FL?

    From what I can see in the showroom car, the SX comes with both front passenger and driver ventilated (air con) seats.

    The flexsteer button also relocated to beside the gearshift, instead of on the steering wheel in the current models.

    Otherwise, visually, I do not see any difference in the cabin.

    Hmm.. No Eurostyle HU? No Body kit? No sunroof? No HID? the lamps and bumper are cosmetic changes only.. but the passenger aircon is a new value add addition..

    What is flexsteer? Maybe i dont use it so i didnt notice it on my steering wheel...

    Seems like just a face-lift with no (almost) value add...

    The showroom car did not come with a sunroof.

    No bodykit. I can't recall the HU though. It might be the touchscreen one.

    Not sure if HID or halogen, did not ask the SE.

    Flexsteer is the function where you can vary the "heaviness" of your steering wheel. Sport, Comfort or Normal. I don't use it much too, usually keep it in Normal mode.

    Oh yes, and a flat bottom "sporty" looking steering wheel.

    Put the connector inside first before screwing the bulb in. But the heatsink requires ventilation to cool down, if cover back not advisable. But if don't cover water might get in.

    with the LED you ordered with the driver built in behind, may have to leave it hanging, unless you buy a spare cover for china's K3 which has slightly more space.

    for mine it fits perfectly with the cover on.

    can get a spare cover and drill some holes for hot air to escape.

    however the engine bay is just as hot, if not hotter than the heat from the led bulb.

    im not refering to the headlamp cover but the power connector behind the bulb. We twist it anti clockwise to take the bulb with the connector out. When we install the LED bulb, i suppose we use the LED bulb's ring to hold the bulb in place since we cannot use the original power connector to hold it in place due to the length of the bulb with heatsink

    the cable with the 2 prongs from your LED bulb plugs into that original connector.

    you can order an adaptor to hold the bulb in place, basically a replacement for the plastic part of the connector that is attached to your led bulb.

    for me i used the original cover to hold everything in place nicely.

    Thanks bro. Overall still pretty ok for me lah. Trying not to spend too much on any addition/alteration. The next thing to install is the Eurostyle head unit which C&C still owe me.

    C&C did not polish the car well , maybe this is not their forte and they have hundreds of cars to polish for car delivery. It's very obvious on black cars , adhesive stains left by protection sheets during car shipment. I also paid to do Zertona PPS but the adhesive stains was not removed and PPS applied to have patchy effect. All these was rectified when I went to CS-2 for PPS. it was then a perfect paintwork

    To me it was a regret to take up Zertona from C&C and happy that I did CS-2.

    It doesn't matter if you park under shade most of the time. A good PPS is to give a more intense and even colour , better protection against dirt and rain, better hydrophobic effect. I have not washed my car for one week after all the rain and shine daily. And it's still clean and glossy with no dirt and water marks.

    Bro, I did mine with C&C too n also realised their job not so good. Is it ok to redo PPS again at another place? Any good n not to expensive place to recommend?

    Yes it is ok to redo PPS provided the person knows how to remove the existing coat. I did mine at CS-2 for $1082 for Titanium coating.

    You're right PPS is an investment. It provides better intense colour , better shine, better hydrophobic, more resistance to dirt and water marks. The mirror I not sure, but no need one lah. For auto dimming ? Our rear tint is quite dark already.

    the led bulb come with the shape to clip the bulb in place so leave the original power cable hanging. Was surfing earlier and saw tao bao, 28 bucks for a set of Cree LED from tao bao lol. cheap. The one I got earlier is almost 80 bucks.

    Hi!

    I booked my K3 EX on 24 May through SE Cheng at Ubi. Collected the car on 27 June 16 with following defects and outstanding items:-

    1) steering wheel not properly aligned withmore than15 degree slanted;

    2) 16" sportsrim not installed until today nodelivery date;

    3) Eurostyle multi media not installed;

    4) scratches on left rear window;

    Made appointment the next day after collection to alignhe steering wheel and need to left the car at Ubi service centre for half a day. BUTthe steering wheel still not properly aligned. SE Cheng told me it is "Common"to delver a new car withsteering wheel not properly aligned. New K3 owners dotake note and check before sign.

    Don't understand why such adelay in delivery? Andwhy C&C Management still allow delivery with above outstanding items and major defects.

    My steering alignment ok leh. Hmm usually alignment only takes few mins to adjust. Unless yours is something more serious that causes the alignment issue.

    Congrats.

    Seems your car has more defects then mine. That time when I collect only noted the chrome grille got chip off damage but was replaced. The paint work on the hood has some clear coat spider crack also rectified.

    Another thing which most may neglect is the paint work and interior plastic trim. I noted that my a pillar interior plastic has one spot off shade but nothing to complain so leave it.

    Steering wheel slanted as normal? I do not think is normal.

    Wow, that's quite bad for a delivery. Even the 16" sports rims are not available? I thought they were factory fitted.

    15 degree slanted is quite a lot.

    You have to make a big complain to Leng Kee. Write in to complain. It's not good for a brand new car to go in workshop the next day. Demand for compensation. If you are hard enough they will.

    He shouldn't hv taken the car in the first place.. just walk away until they rectify the fault n install all that's missing.. everyday they hold the new car is $50 storage cost for the SE..So talk to SE to clear this mess, as its in their self interest to clear the car n avoid the storage cost.. if take too long can ask for courtesy car if old car traded in Liao..

    Dear all, I have received my K3 SX in June. It is a comfortable ride. Just wondering whether switching to the Comfort mode will help to improve the FC. Before running in, my FC was 10.6km per litre. After the recent 1000km servicing, it has worsen to 9.7km per litre. Still monitoring and thinking whether the FC was due to the heavy body. 60% expressway and 40 % normal road.

    I'm on Esso 95 sometimes 98. Getting 9.7L/100km for 80% city and 20% highway. Not light foot though.

    Check your tyre pressure and pump up to 34-35psi. Cannot 32psi.

    actually as long as no major problem can drive the car off la, they likely wun gif u any courtesy car and u gonna have to go public. For alignment, if can do on the spot ask them do, else I would go outside. I let C&C do my alignment and cmi. I went out to rectify myself, save the trouble. Send in for servicing and rectify in morning, only receive the car around 4-5PM, by the time you reach C&C the mechanic siew gang already and you realise problem still there. Outside rectify 5mins job. swee swee bello.

    If you choose to pung chance, then dun come back and comprain liao.. bec we gave C&C the legal way to wiggle out of their faults...

    1. Buying new or old, we all expect no fault.

    2. Cos I find my time more valuable than the $30 spent to rectify a alignment problem which I doubt they have a proper wheel/steering alignment equipment. By sending back and only collecting after work, even if u realise there is a problem, you can at most speak to the guard cos he is the only person left by 7PM.

    3. Used car is cheaper but not exactly no problem or cheaper in depre.

    4. Pung chance I assume is collect the vehicle and accept the problem. What I am referring to now is collect the vehicle and note the problems. Rectify on your next servicing which is 1k in this case since it's new. Leaving the car inside, you still pay for the roadtax, insurance and COE since it's already registered under you by the time you can collect. If the problem isnt major, I would think it's logical to collect and rectify later.

    My views tho [laugh]

    i have both steering and wheel alignment. Both they couldnt do properly la.

    K3 is well built but not without problems.

    I have encountered cruise control panel issues - panel changed

    Car unable to start in P, only in N. In P no crank. Left the car there and all they can tell me is computer say no problem. Until I troubleshoot myself and changed car batt which didnt solve it and changed keyfod batt which solved the problem. Imagine the number of times I left the car there to resolve. Infact left overnight.

    Now my aircon upon startup, it seems to keep changing mode itself that I hear the mode changing sound like some DJ jamming in the aircon. - Will resolve on next servicing.

    Problem when you have too many electronics.

    When I get my new car, I also want it to be perfect, but most of the time it isn't. I had bubbles on my solar film and paint defects. If I tell them to resolve it, they also can't do it on the same day. Took the car and send in during servicing to resolve together. I would prefer to spend lesser time and do everything together if possible cos Im not very confident in their mechanics but I had $1k servicing credit then. Now that the credit is used up, Im gonna do it elsewhere.

    Hi!

    I booked my K3 EX on 24 May through SE Cheng at Ubi. Collected the car on 27 June 16 with following defects and outstanding items:-

    1) steering wheel not properly aligned withmore than15 degree slanted;

    2) 16" sportsrim not installed until today nodelivery date;

    3) Eurostyle multi media not installed;

    4) scratches on left rear window;

    Did you ask the SE to record down the defects and when it is due for rectification?

    When I collected my car, I got some paint work issue at the bonnet/boot/rear bumper.
    And the gap between my fender/bonnet/door is uneven on both side.
    My SE was quite steady. He called 1 of the car collection ctr personnel to come and take a look also and they agreed they should rectify it. So they recorded it on my collection slip and true enough, we arranged for it to be rectified the next week. I needed the car that week so I just collected it first.

    And they gave me a courtesy car also. Kia Sportage.
    Maybe cos my car took almost a week to be rectified.
    The first paint rectification came back with paint chip. So they resprayed and ask me to check until I am completely satisfied before releasing the car back to me.

    Maybe I am just lucky that the service ctr ppl are nice.

    Wah fierce bro. 95 & 92 price difference not much. Only about $2 per tank.

    How about your tyre pressure ?

    our car is able to take in minimum RON 91. No point let the petrol coy earn more when we pump more than we need. I tried higher RON b4, I didnt felt any significant difference so I just use 92. Same goes for my previous cars and they were all still in good condition when traded in [laugh]

    I think the minimum required for our engine is 95.

    Does 98 give better FC since it burns cleaner and perhaps more effective?

    I am on SPC 95 and my FC never got better than 8.9 L/100km.

    its 92. U can check the manual. Minimum is 91.

    Actually what fuel also same, as long car can move. But end of day 98 burns cleaner, in years to come engine will be cleaner as it has double the cleaning agents. Just like engine oil mah, no matter Motul or Shell, can feel it while driving. But many still prefers Motul. Lol.

    To be honest, don't be too bothered about fuel consumption.

    When I collected my car in dec 15, I was having an unhealthy obsession with the fuel consumption. When I can't get anything better than 12km/lit, I will keep thinking my car got problem.

    After awhile, I start to ignore the fuel consumption and start to enjoy driving the car.

    Fuel consumption all boils down to a few factors.

    Heavy/Light Footer - When I was heavy footer, I can only get 8km/lit. Thats when I was using the shift-tronic and revving to 6k rpm at every gear change. When I was light footer, I can get 12-14km/lit. Light footer is rpm less than 3k.

    Road condition - The percentage of highway you travel on and traffic jammakes a VERY big difference. During my normal day to day work, I go 70% city/30% highway + plus jam. So I get about 11km/lit. Got 1 month I had to travel to a new work place at 6am everyday. 70% highway/30%city plus no jam. I get 16km/lit. Even better than manufacturer spec.

    And regarding different RON type, last time I did an excel sheet to track the difference in price and fuel consumption. I concluded that the difference is insignificant. So don't worry about it too much.

    There's absolutely nothing wrong... it's on par with all other makes...

    Well that's a different topic altogether. Like I mentioned some ppl can feel the difference but I don't so Im fine with 92.

    Show some pics when they arrive! Hiw many watts n lumens?

    bulb arrived. 40W, 4800Lumens.

    White and Bright. But I can't install it properly yet. It is the heat strip type and the vendor showed 22mm for the heatsink which isnt the case. I cant fit the dust cover back as it is slightly too long. Will have to buy a spare dust cover to cut it.

    2nd, it doesn't come with the bulb adapter to hold the bulb in place since we cannot use the original one to hold the LED in place.

    It's either I drill the hole on the dust cover for the heatsink and strip to come out then it should likely hold it in place or I get a additional adapter to clip it in place and drill hole on dust cover to put the cover back.

    Don't think it's on par bro. My friend's Mazda 3 has much better FC. Average 14-15km/L. Even on city driving without using Start Stop. Just imagine if he uses Start Stop.

    Hmmm.. there's been quite a few posts on FC here.. and my own take is that if FC is impt to these bros, perhaps they can look at diesels.. if we looked at petrol cars, then hv to be prepared the FC is poorer.. compare petrol car's FC among the different makes may show up some differences, but on the whole if compare petrol cars to diesels on FC, then diesels will win hands down...

    Just enjoy the ride, and petrol cars do ride smoother and quieter (doesn't sound like a sonata taxi!) than diesels.... just a little bit more ex on petrol thats all...

    What's the file's extension? If it's a proprietary format then you can only use the Thinkware viewer. But I think most cameras now save in MP4 formats right?

    Thinkware saves in avi format. So I have to convert it to MP4. Just tried

    Hello all k3 owners, if replace wheels, tyres and brake pads outside workshop will it affect the warranty?

    Only affects your warranty for brakes. What brake pads u buying ? Stock brake pads not bad mah, quiet. Most aftermarket pads will produce grinding noise.
