    Dear all,

where is your trusted shop to change horns.

    Ubi/Kaki Bukit area please

    on a budget.

Looking at Hella horns maybe. How does the bosch ec6? fare?

Understand our k3 has a relay already? Please confirm how would we know if original relay is working.

    Looking to install tml maybe.

I using the Hella red two tone horn. Very nice sound, same as Mercs horn, changed at SGgarage at Yishun. But Ubi Autobac also have, i saw, Around $45 if i remember correctly. no need additional wiring, already got relay, just change the horn can already.

As for my FC I feel mine like very bad leh. Since day1 its around 10-10.5l/100km. I tried very light footed n every gear changed at 2k rpm. Anything to note or any comments. Thanks many many :)

I getting constant 7.5-8L/100KM. Mostly 70% highway 30% city. FC should get better after 1000km servicing. Our K3 FC is good on highway, but city traffic jam is bad.

    Jazzco

even if light footed, if u travel mostly city or jams, u should get ard 10.x per L.

I have gotten even 8km/L before. the best was 11.x/L.

Its manual calculation, not using the car trip computer.

Thanks bro then it's normal I Guess cos my daily is Lornie road "ouch"...

Yup, but the dash calculation not very zhun imo, can be about 0.5l/100km off. My range is 7.2-8.8l /100km, but then again I drive about 80% highway and maintain speed at 85-90 kind so.... its really more dependent on how u use.

10/km is normal if you are saying lornie 60-90.. start stop traffic lights and all.

I done my Stebel TM80 horns at Audio Solution for only $50. Not cutting of wires as he use wire clips to connect to our stock connector which will not void warranty.

This is one of the most annoying roads to drive on... people keep stepping on the brakes repeatedly for nothing, especially on the extreme right lane, cos they're scared of the separating wall, or going downslope... sigh... total waste of fuel...

To be honest, don't be too bothered about fuel consumption.

When I collected my car in dec 15, I was having an unhealthy obsession with the fuel consumption. When I can't get anything better than 12km/lit, I will keep thinking my car got problem.

After awhile, I start to ignore the fuel consumption and start to enjoy driving the car.

Fuel consumption all boils down to a few factors.

Heavy/Light Footer - When I was heavy footer, I can only get 8km/lit. Thats when I was using the shift-tronic and revving to 6k rpm at every gear change. When I was light footer, I can get 12-14km/lit. Light footer is rpm less than 3k.

Road condition - The percentage of highway you travel on and traffic jammakes a VERY big difference. During my normal day to day work, I go 70% city/30% highway + plus jam. So I get about 11km/lit. Got 1 month I had to travel to a new work place at 6am everyday. 70% highway/30%city plus no jam. I get 16km/lit. Even better than manufacturer spec.

And regarding different RON type, last time I did an excel sheet to track the difference in price and fuel consumption. I concluded that the difference is insignificant. So don't worry about it too much.

I shall re-quote myself to give the new guys some assurance about our K3's fuel consumption rate. Lol.

Like I mentioned, it really boils down to how heavy you are with the throttle and the road condition. Unless you are driving normally and no jam but you are getting less than 6-8km/litre, then your car is perfectly fine.

Hi i Just want to share i went to Paintless Dent Remover at toa payoh to settle a small dent and it cost me $35. It was done professionally in 30 mins(because no queue). Attached are pictures before and after. He managed to remove 80% of it. Now left with touching up the paintwork. If you have any small dents you can go to him.

Put on a new set of Michelin PS3 tyres.

Nubbad. Immediately you can feel the road driving out of the workshop, and its relatively quiet I suppose. Only thing is the FC is definitely lower than the Nexen stock and could feel it immediately too.

But.. mini vibrations still there! Conclusion is it's the K3 suspension system.

Try to pump only 32-33 psi. Tyre shops normally pump very high pressure. Not good for handling & braking as tyres go rounded. A correct tyre pressure the tyre sidewalls should look slightly sagged which is normal.
Any Bros installed the blackvue 650S (Cloud Cam) yet? Thinking of installing one. Looks cool to have realtime monitoring and GPS tracking.

I read somewhere that the recommended 32 psi tyre pressure is at 25 degrees C, hence the higher pressure to compensate for the temperature difference. Not sure true or not though.

Ya 32 is for cold but not sure what's the temperature. I stay near one of the Stamford tyres outlet so tyres will still be cold when I arrived there from my home. For me I pumped 33 which is good for comfort, FC, and rolling resistance , excellent grip. I tried many other pressures from 34-36 psi, all are too hard and tyre balloon up not gripping with full contact. You can see by seeing the road wear lines on the tyres. 215 width tyres only uses 195 to contact the road if on 35-36. Less grip.

Anyone knows if there is a feature that prevents the start/stop button from killing the engine when at speed? Example, traveling at 80km/h and driver accidentally hits the button. Does the engine stop?

I had experienced at low speed (ie. parking), when I hit the button a little too hastily and engine immediately stopped even though the car was moving at low speed.

Not sure why anyone would pull such a stunt at high speed. But it should kill the engine... should be the same for all makes.

ha as a matter of safety, if for some reason you need to kill the engine while travelling at higher speeds, and the start stop button does not allow this, it will be a issue for complaints too.

The engine won't stop if hit the button at high speed. Have to press and hold for awhile then will stop engine. This what the manual says. Haven't try. But why would one accidentally hit the button? RHD car , button on the right, no one can press for u. Unlike for LHD car, button on the right , passenger can ka jiao.

if it's the brakes that fail, probably yes? they will say you spoiled it during the spraying.

if it is something else that broke down, they cant really void the warranty if the brakes had no link at all to the part under repair

I personally think that's bull. Engines are built to be optimized to different octane levels and usually within the range of that provided at petrol stations.

Think for this engine it's 95. Just pump however you want a little mix is fine.

If you religiously rotate your tires, like what I do for every 10K, then your tires will wear very evenly... can last a bit longer... but in the end I also decide to change as safety is paramount... so I rotate less these days...

I bought the Kia care plan at $1025 for 2 years 4 servicing. Parts replacement at 15% off. Seems not bad. Planning to service with C&C as they give a seamless care for my car. No need to worry about what fault or which part spoil.

I had enough with Outside workshops, they don't give correct recommendations , more depends on mood & knowledge of the Mechanic servicing your car at the point of time. No S.O.P. Any problem they try to talk about must change another parts.

My personal opinion la as I have no time to deal with outside workshops. And it will void your warranty. By the way, certain parts are not cheap. Like the power steering rack, as our is electronic steering.

Just my personal views. Again it depends on individual. Kia service is not so ex actually since they warranty for the things they did, and can complain if they recommend not correct. "I always write in to complain" and end up got a refund or voucher. Keke.

Supposely include one major servicing that cost more...forget the details of the package liao. He did breakdown the cost and explained to me...old man forget details fast. But at that point seems reasonable to me. But when I bring my old car to my friend workshop for SOP servicing only 100++. I'm quite sure is SX because I recognized the 17" rims and front parking sensor when the car stop beside me at traffic junction.

And i also saw the facelift K3 EX, omg, the 16" rim C&C provided is horrible, looks like those 1990s hub cover rim. Seriously cannot believe my eyes. The pre-FL EX 16" rims looks much better.

I have the pre-FL SX. I actually like the EX 16" rims more than the 17" rims initially and even asked my SE can swop my 17" for the 16" or not. My SE said cannot... but now, the 17" rims starting to grow on me.

The FL K3 rims both not that nice imo.

I have the pre-FL SX. I actually like the EX 16" rims more than the 17" rims initially and even asked my SE can swop my 17" for the 16" or not. My SE said cannot... but now, the 17" rims starting to grow on me.

The FL K3 rims both not that nice imo.

Haha. Good thing you didn't change to 16". The 17" rims have the more executive feel over the 16". Looks nicer also

Oh, I think he meant the lights that come on when brake pedal is depressed. The pre-FL are a row of LEDs between the all round LED strip like this -

and the FL K3 where the brake light between the LED strip is using bulbs like this -

To clarify, I think what I meant was the brake lights are no longer LED... not the tail lights... the tail lights are still those LED tube lighting... but a bit disappointed that they did away with the LED brake lights...

I guess a few owners will change the bulb to LED bulbs. But then, it still won't look as nice imo.

Supposely include one major servicing that cost more...forget the details of the package liao. He did breakdown the cost and explained to me...old man forget details fast. But at that point seems reasonable to me. But when I bring my old car to my friend workshop for SOP servicing only 100++. Yah for that u can say actually quite expensive but new car wat to do ....older than do outside lor

Hmmm, ok will ask them to do a "breakdown" for me the next time lol. Thanks.

If I'm not wrong, the package do not include the cost for ATF and coolant fluid change. Charge separately. Correct me if I am wrong. If the package includes ATF, Coolant, air filter, cabin filters then still sound more reasonable.

I believe spark plug, air filter and fuel filter will have separate charges.

Incl all fluids but not air filters & spark plugs. Parts entitled to 15% off.

When setting Air con to auto mode, the air intake will switch to take in air from external instead of internal circulation.

Anyone knows how to disable the function? Thanks. [wave]

The ventilation will turn on if cabin temp reaches 24 degrees. Set temp to 22 or lower to prevent that. It got nothing to do with auto or not auto.

Set to 21 degrees is best. If cabin gets too hot the vent will open.

Bought it online from Taobao for 68RMB (~SGD$15) including shipping will be ~SGD$20.

    https://item.taobao....&_u=h7vfbvg8b4d

DIY installation. Make sure you use the primer included so that it will stick properly.

Have different colours to choose from.

Some people install the Samurai lip at the sides too.

Confirm bro? Sometimes I drive on highway also will happen. Temp is 22-23 deg. I tot my climate control spoil.

I think the outside air vents open when interior temp is too low. Meaning the system could be trying to bring the interior yemp up. I tried setting to 22 deg for some time and then turn up to 24 deg, the vents open straight away automatically

Any drilling required during installation? Only stick on is it? For both side and front.

The Samurai Lip I bought came with a few screws and I used them to secure the areas where the lip makes a sharp bend. Manually screw on from the bottom to the bumper. Can be a bit tricky.

Up to individual whether you want to add the screws, but I saw some Samurai lips peeling off at the sharp bend area and it's quite impossible to restick without peeling off the whole thing.

Those doing Samurai on Bumpers without screws, do remember to clean your surface thoroughly before you stick. The 3M that comes with the lip is actually very good and stays even in sharp bends. The only part that may come off is the edge on both side where the tape is exposed to the wheel arc. Will recommend install screws on all installations if you really want to be assured.

Yes. PPS is ok. Mine with PPS as well, although not sure the bottom had PPS applied hehe.

3M do have fake ones from China...

Need to clean surface properly..free of dirt before using 3M to stick..

Just press the re-circulation button, and it'll keep vents close.

Now the Auto function will just adjust fan speed.

I would assume this explains why there are 2017 K3s on the roads with hubcaps/steel wheels. Even base EX models C&C sell have alloy wheels.

so they sell away the alloy wheels and fit on the cheap hubcaps/steel wheels?

    Hi all!

Am new to this forum. My current car was about to be scrapped in a few months and have been looking around for a new car with my wife for the past few months. Went to a few showrooms to test drive and compare prices, but I have to say that the K3 caught my eyes immediately with all the features and the sexy curves. After discussing with the wife, she finally gave approval to go ahead!

Booked a SX K3 on Wednesday and now I'm just waiting for the COE bidding on the 7th Sept. The sales rep says I can expect collection of my car by Sep or Oct.

    Cant wait!

Excuse me for nitpicking, but it would look a little better if you followed the bumper curves a little more with the digital wrap though. And even more nitpicking, something you did blew out the fogs.

Hey guys, anyone using the Motrex Multimedia head unit system that is thrown in as an upgrade provided by C&C?

Have yet to collect my car but i believe that the video could only be watched when it is in parking mode? Ask the sales rep if they could help me do a bypass for that when i do my collection but he says they don't do it as it doesn't comply with the LTA rules.

Anyone using it has done the bypass? if so any recommended shops to do it?
