Anyone got their K3 yet after securing 3rd Feb COE bidding??

Same i also got mine today with 2k rebates. Going down next week to pay the remaining payment, most likely first week of March can collect the car. Any idea will the 2k rebate be use to offset the remaining payment?

    Enjoy your ride! [laugh][laugh]

Grats on getting your new ride. Yes, my previous previous car got a 2k rebate as well from CnC. It will be used to offset the downpayment when you go down to make final payment. Unless they have change the rules as it was quite a long time ago. Hope it helps.

I went down to make payment today and they deducted the $2K from the price.

Apparently, SC said more than 200 units of K3 secured COE this time round.

Just got the latest price from my SE:

    K3 SX Platinum: $92,999 - 6 bids guaranteed - COE rebate 40k

    K3 SX Standard: $88,999 - 6 bids non-guaranteed - COE rebate 32k

I am going to book a K3 in the coming days. My dilemma is not sure which package to choose.

For the standard package, what is the MAX bid can CnC possibly put up to?

Yeah, think COE shall not change that much given more supplies but the only thing to go for guaranteed COE is the additional C&C add every now and then. I go for guaranteed in the past as my car left 1 mth or so and COE unpredictable. That was about 5 mths back ha.

    KIA Forte K3 EX $82,999

    Mitsubishi Attrage $75,999

    Mazda 2 Sedan $81,888

    Hyundai Accent $81,999

Which car should I get? Can someone offer some advice? I work shifts so I would probably be getting an off-peak car since I start work before 7am and end work after 7pm on some days. I'm directing this question to KIA Forte K3 EX owners. Is the car reliable? It's the most feature-packed car out of the 4 i've mentioned but considering I'm only getting an off-peak car, do you guys think if getting a cheaper car will suffice? In addition, have any K3 owners faced reliability problems with their K3?

Hmm can I know why didn't you get the Attrage or Accent? For the Attrage, it's price point and fuel consumption is what makes me really tempted to get it. I haven't gone for a test drive so I'm not sure of the performance and comfort of the car. I've seen the car at the Singapore Motorshow and the built quality of the car is really bad, no offence to Attrage owners. The Accent seems really solid and well-built but it seems really basic, even when compared to the Attrage,

I shortlisted Attrage for the same reason. But cannot accept the road noise. Causes fatigue to me after the test drive. I only sat in Accent as test drive was not available at that time. I think it did not match up to the features I wanted, which were available in EX. I was after the features cos
I want to use them. Also I felt best inside the K3 cabin (space and design). The price differences were within my acceptable budgeted range so I finally followed my heart and picked EX. The decision was a combo of heart and mind.

Did my 1k servicing this morning at Ubi Rd 3 C&C Service centre. All went smoothly and done within 2 hrs. Free simple breakfast, yummy yummy. Oops another observation, my FC hit 7.4L/100km yesterday. That's 13.5km/L. Quite good. Insulation still holding up well. My friends are impressed on the features available in the car. For sharing. Mine is SX model. Don't step the accelerator heavily when driving off. Though initial acceleration may be slow...let others zoom ahead, k3 will catch up later. Also, try not to step on brakes too often, meaning...try to keep good distance so that u can slow dwn instead of stepping your brake to slow dwn. Hope this helps a little. Will update further observations, if any. Cheers.

I don't think it's the tire. It's the suspension. Not that the suspension is faulty, its just that it's stiffened by default so that it'll be stable when on full load. Unless you change e suspension, any other tires will have the same bouncy feel. There's another option, which I tried previously in my old car, is to install suspension stiffener to mitigate the bouncy effect. I've yet to install this and not sure if it'll work. Anyone in the group has any solution or suggestion? Thanks.

K3 of coz. No need to think. Whether EX or SX it is a class above the rest in the list. A more appropriate comparison will be Rio instead

Wifey ask me to go for EX but i was thinking that i will drive for next 10 yrs why nt SX?

Thank you for sharing in advance.

The brochure does a poor job in showing the differences. There should be a comparison table. I asked my SE to tick the features that are different in my brochure. Here they are:

    SX vs EX

    Exterior

    17" rim vs 16" rim

Smart welcome light (pocket & puddle lamps) vs nil

Chrome belt line moulding vs nil

    Chrome-tipped tail pipe vs normal

    Interior

Button start and keyless entry vs nil

    Paddle shifters vs nil

    Bluetooth hands-free vs nil

Power driver seat with 2 memory settings vs nil

Dual zone auto climate control aircond with cluster ioniser vs manual aircond

    Driver ventilated seat vs nil

    Safety and Security

Parking assist with 2 front and 4 rear sensors vs (I think only 2 rear sensors IIRC, but not stated in brochure)

Vehicle stability management system (VSM) vs nil

Hill-start assist control (HAC) vs nil

Electronic stability control (ESC) vs nil

The differences are big enough to warrant the price difference of $6k. Some features like the dual zone auto aircond are quite expensive, according to my SE.

Whether or not these differences are "valuable" to you is a different story, and only you can answer. For me, I am going to book a SX soon for its keyless entry, paddle shifters and ventilated seat. Other extra features are not critical to me.

EX and SX have the same body and will give you similar performance and comfort. So, I suggest you consider whether you need/want the extra features.

Btw, SX has higher OMV, by about $2500. This means you get about $1250 more when you scrap 10 years later. So, the effective extra price you pay for SX is about $4750.

Strut bars also help to stiffen the ride. Quite a number of Brothers in the K3 WhatsApp group are on Ultra Racing Safety Bars. Personally I'm on a Stage 1.5 (Front Strut + Rear Anti Roll + 4 pt mid-lower), Ride is really hard.

Before on struts, I complain to C&C on soft suspension, and my ride came back hard. Don't ask me what they did, coz they tell me they did NOTHING at all.. lol

Wow... pretty hardcore eh... how did they stiffen yourcar's suspension? Short of changing the springs to another set with different rates, I don't understand how... I highly doubt the car comes with adjustable spring rates... that would be quite something...

Are the rollbars approved stuff or KIA accessories or just third party stuff? It can alter the way the car responds to the imperfections on the roads and can result in catastrophic suspension or grip failure if it is not designed properly... especially the rear set.

From my knowledge only aftermarket coilovers are able to adjustable, initially thot C&C overpump my tyre pressure, end up isnt. Suspect they change myspring for one with a different spring rate??.. so it's a mystery until now... and might stay a mystery forever till some guru can explain how that happen.

Struts are LTA friendly, so no problem with such concerns. For KIA or even other car manufacturers, as long as 3rd party accesories, they have the right to void warranty. This includes simple accessories/stuff like LED bulbs, scuff plates, Rims, TPMS etc etc. Anyway Ultra racing has been doing VSB (vehicle safety bars) for sometimes, and I trust their reputation...as compared to Unknown Strut Bars at a fraction of the price from online sites like Taobao/Aliexpress,

Floor mat and solar film should be easy to get. Go for Eurostyle HU if you go for SX.

The latest SX has no sunroof.

"LED rear combination lamps" are listed for both SX and EX in the brochure.

I like the LED rear lights on K3, would be nice if this feature also available on EX.

The latest SX no more sunroof, right? And the EX rear light is normal and not LED like the SX?

Current SX no sunroof. SX with sunroof are the SX Sports which also comes with bodykits.

For lights both EX and SX are the same combination lights. Exterior u can easily tell the difference at the exhaust tip, chrome side window trimming, 17" rims. More differences in the interior/features such as dual zone air con,Keyless entry, steering control, heated front seats, driver seat cooling fan. Finishings are different as well. SX leather seats are factory installed while EX are locally installed. SX steering wheels are leather while EX is not. You can see the difference in quality and the leather finishings.

Engines and structures are the same.

From the official website they show there is manual gear for k3

Do they still sell manual gear?

Don't think they sell manual transmission. I asked C&C about a year ago and they say no. Any other can confirm? Been wanting to get manual but seems like difficult. Sianz...

Is manual and paddle shifters a good enough alternative? That of course can't replace the feel of using a stick and clutch.

yes, you can login through www.hdb.gov.sg with your singpass. Under 'My HDBpage' > 'My Vehicle' > 'Season Parking'.

There are whole lot of option for you to choose, such as change of IU number.

Hee Hee 22nd Feb. I was down there to sign for my K3 SX. Lunch Time

There was a round 3 other couples besides me there.

Lol btw don't get fooled by the new Kia K3 SX display model (sold anyway), it comes with body Kit and Euro style system.

But these extras are not standard on the normal SX.

Getting my car in March, but no specific date yet.

balloon scheme? interest +1 percent 3.78+- % , end of 5 years, owe lump sum (parf rebate etc)

    which reduces every month repayment

After market? Will void warranty not?

Not gonna be servicing at C&C after the 3 free servicing anyways.

Did not take the eurostyle cos feel 2k is too high ... channging my HU to Kenwood (i wanna mirror my smartphone to the screen - easy playing of videos from my android or iphone and can mirror google map so do not need additional nav system) + reverse cam + upgrade front speakers + soundproofing front doors and reuse my old amp and woofer all at cost of below 2k.

My personal experience on warranty - had an engine part faulty before (engine sign at dashboard lighted when start car). Sent to workshop as was under warranty.

Workshop : "Mister got 1 part need to replace. Your car within warranty period but our records show you never serviced with us after 3rd servicing so cannot claim."

Me : "so how like that?"

Workshop : "come you let us service your car today and we replace the part under warranty after that"

And this is even after my car almost total lost cos kena flooding. My insurance authorised workshop(consider 3rd party workshop) replaced most of the electronics in the car. Still able claim warranty as per above scenario after that. ?

That's quite lucky but what if the workshop said "Sorry, you have to pay for the part since you did not have a servicing record"

Car warranty is basically like insurance, you are paying the "premium" via the expensive servicing at AD, but if touch wood need to claim then they will pay out. Don't pay premium, no guarantee of getting any claims.

How much lower if you opt for the lower down payment scheme?

Kia and Hyundai should be same, 20% downpayment, but charge gao gao on int rate. Not sure why peeps go for that though, the monthly installment at that kinda rate, i doubt someone with less than 4k salary (even if dual income) can afford it properly.

But if rich peeps buy for their son and daughter, then its a good scheme to go.

As long dont wholesale change engine parts from ori to 3rd party should be ok la. Thats my mindset anyways.

And as long send to servicing when due regardless the workshop also should be fine. Use correct oil, change correct filters etc. If i mechanic, cannot save $$ do my own servicing meh? Still need to send C&C ?

But still - To each his own. I am comfortable with this. I did have same concern when i purchased my 1st car many years back so i can relate to your concerns too.
