Dear Bros , just collected my SX today. Overall was good and satisfied with the car. Went immediately to replace with Conti sport contact 5 tyres. The Eurostyle HU is wonderful, good sound quality, considering its stock speakers. Great gps too. Found a line along my rear spoiler , look like adhesive stains.

Does anyone knows why the red light on the door panel doesn't light up when door is open?

Good choice..CSC 5 is good. How much you top up?

Mine also has a line along my spoiler..but I guiess that can be polished off over time... not too obvious

Its reflector not a light..u can bling bling it tho...lol...

I thought I was alone. The line did look like adhesive stains and in my case, and the lines are pretty "long" and obvious along my spoiler, as my car is black.

I am planning to ask my SE whether they can remove the stain during my coming 1K servicing. Also realise some parts of bonnet was slightly blurish. Should have checked the car paintwork thoroughly during collection 2 weeks ago. Any expert with similar experience and advice (other than paying to DIY...)?

Hi bro I topped up $632 after trade in the stock Nexen, done at Stamford tyres. Free rotation life time as I know them very well. Seems like everyone's rear spoiler has the line. I've informed my SE and he is arranging for a polishing to be done. On top of that, the paint work sucks which is located above the rear number plate. And rear combi lamps plastic cover has a tiny hole (created by injection molding of plastics) with some wax in it.

The line on my spoiler also very long , all the way throughout. SE arranging to get it polished off. Need to get it fixed. We paid $90k not for a defective line.

I got the same issue as well and maybe worse. Visible continue patch across the whole lip under certain angles.

This is a common cosmetic problem for Black K3??

3 questions on map updates... has any one done the map update for the Euro Style HU? Update to the sd card? Got any cheaper way?

Was told to do the update b4 end of 1st year, subsequent updates will cost S$100++ each time

New cars not always perfect. Mine when collected has chipping off the chrome grille and headlights has water stain inside. But all changed new under new car defects.

But bumper alignment out is quite bad as it is obvious to the eye compared to my issues.

When they do up ur bumper, make sure you check the seams whether is there paint peel when they are working on it.

My car get something like this when they removed the bumpers for some works. Pending to resolve by them when I do servicing.

No worries. Being said that. It is still a great looking car and full of features. I still feel proud driving it as a number of keen interest from ppl.

Though this car causes me many unnecessary inconvenience not because of the car but the ppl who attends to it. I thinking of the ad they convey to us that our cars handled over to them are treated like our own children. I like to give chance but there is a limit and further more still have over 9 yrs plus to drive.

Has anyone feel abit irritated that the height of passenger seat for the k3 cant be adjusted?

I can only adjust front and back, backrest back and forth but not the height.

So generally my driver's seat will be adjusted higher abit. So when friends board my car, those seated at the back will ask question like 'eh why ur chair so high' they can see an obvious height different between the passenger seat and the driver seat.

    Just venting out, abit annoying!!

Bro, it's not a top of the line Mercs/BMW. No height adjustment for passenger seat is the norm. Also, it's strange you have to adjust your seat so high, unless you are really short. You should have about 1 hand spacing (with some space between your fingers) between your head and the roof.

Why don't you adjust your driver seat lower so that there is no need to adjust the passenger seat. Normally people will adjust the drivers seat to the lowest position. Not sure why u need to seat so high. Then u should be buying a SUV instead.

Y get annoyed by your friends comment? U r the driver u sit in your most comfortable position. Passenger seat I feel is ok for the height. Even if drive seat higher dun see what's the issue...

I no like my K3EX's soft/spongy suspension. Was on original stock tires (Nexen) & recommended 220 kpa & aso soft/spongy on 245 kpa, all 4 wheels. My friend aso drove it & commented soft/spongy. PLS HELP: 1) Experienced, who used F strut - wats d result? Anyone apply F & R struts - wats d result? Is spring buffer - those neoprene inserts between the springs - can they resolve my issue? I've looked under R suspension - wonder how they fix the R struct - any comments?

I luv my KIA K3 EX. All comments/suggestions R welcome.

    About fuel consumption . . .
    To thechoseone:
I did around 60%highway/40%city driving and gotten 9.3 to 9.8 L/100 km accordin to the in-dash real-time calculator, during my 1st three mths.
Now I get 8.2 to 8.6 L/100. I am amazed I got 6.2 L/100 in my drive to JB Sentral from my home in Simei thru' PIE/BKE. Along BKE the real-time calculator, even, averaged down to 5.4L/100km ! This benefit I get, after I added insulation to the stock battery.
Next I gonna insulate the air intake. I got a coil of Aluminium Tape, given to me, which I must 1st find. The insulation mat . . . I scavenged from the boot cover of my scrapped N/Sunny. I'll see if that'll gimme fuel savings. Find the Al Tape 1st. Or, find seller of Al Tape. Comes in a roll & good sticky on one side. Any help from ppl in KIA family?

Hi, I just collected my car few days ago and I got 8.5-8.7L/100km. The car is powerful and we tends to over accelerate. If you are applying brakes often, then chances are you are wasting petrol.
Collected my car few days ago and found the defects :
    1. Straight line throughout on the rear boot lip. SE arranged for re-spray.
    2. Paintwork above rear number plate is rough and have a little pimple. SE arranged for re-spray.
    3. Front bumper alignment slight out, gap on right bigger than the left. SE informed able to adjust.

Problem is I am reluctant to leave my car at C&C for re-spraying work. Any Bros have the same issue too?
And noticed that the bonnet gasket above the Kia logo have water ingress during rain or car wash. Any bros tried to open bonnet to check after car wash? The top of radiator is all wet.

Tend to be powerful when the cruise control feel is different from the new Jazz I also drove at times. The K3 sometimes rev much higher especially going up slope but the Jazz maintains the speed and no sudden jerk. Check other cars no such issues.

If there is works to be done then better do it as you have to keep driving it maybe 9 yrs plus? However not every car is perfect even if you buy posh cars.

I sending in my to respray the bumper seams, change the chrome door belt & servicing this Thursday. This will take a 2 days job so have to leave the car there. Alternative transport to work arranged by C&C as they causes me a lot of problems which they must answer for it anyway.

Nowadays is not because of the workshop facilities but is the cheap labor (china etc) used whereby they are not all skilled to do this job not just C&C bah They thought the damage cannot see is ok but I will always find out as the color is very prominent. To me the overall experience is positive as they tried to assist me as much as possible but should improve their workmanship and attention to details.

Not so easy to remove the wording. Have to use hot air gun, threading to remove. Remove sticker and polish. You didn't feedback to the SE ?

$95K for K3 SX not worth it lor. Top up 6K too much lor. Maybe u wan to wait for another 2-3months for COE to drop, hopefully.

As there is upcoming Motorcar sale, this might increase in number of buyers.

    COE rebate at 42K

    COE rebate at 42K

$6k top up = $4k top up to guaranteed + $2k price difference between time of booking and current price.
    So it's reasonable.

If you want to save $6k then wait and (hopefully) Coe will drop, but unlikely. Unless you can accept no car by end of 6 bids. At end of 6 bids maybe top up even more than $6k. If you really want the car then just top up, again I said , ask for discount. They only bid at $40k for non guaranteed. Which is nearly impossible to get Coe.

It's up to you bro, to secure a car by topping up $6k, or to save $6k and might not get a car. Then you had gone one big round and not getting a car. 6 bids = 3 months.

I think you can consider to get the guaranteed package. Try to negotiate for discount. Motor show coming. COE confirm going up as demand increases. In simple term, more car buyer, fighting to get COE.

    1. Check paintwork, especially at boot lip, and above rear number plate. Silver color very hard to see irregularities. Take your time to check.
    2. Solar film workmanship.
    3. Bumper alignment.

Bro it's the same. By the time at end of 6 bids, the Coe might be more ex, and u book Hyundai , again gamble and wait for another 6 bids. What for waste your time to wait and gamble when u are all set to buy a car. I personally think you should top up and get the guaranteed package and sure get Coe next coming bid. Then get it all over with, and collect new car. After all, after topping up , it's still cheaper than Hyundai. And the service of c&c after sales is quite good. I dunno about Komoco Motors.

Good choice..CSC 5 is good. How much you top up?

Mine also has a line along my spoiler..but I guiess that can be polished off over time... not too obvious

Its reflector not a light..u can bling bling it tho...lol...

I went to C&C today to look at the boot lip. They advised to re-spray and need to leave car for 2 days, I rejected. So drove up to level 2 to the polishing dept. watched them polish it & now it's better. Can say only left 10% of the adhesive stains.

Blurish & with a small pimple paintwork above rear number plate, advised to re-spray and leave car for 2 days but I rejected. It's not glaring so forget it.

Front bumper & fender alignment left side gap bigger than the other side. Again leave car 1 day to dismantle and adjust. Reject also as not glaring.

So that's all for new car defects. Enjoying new ride and waiting for 1k servicing.

By the way what tyre pressure are you guys on? Reccomend 32psi but felt sluggish and tyre sidewall sagged. Pumped up to 34psi and should be all good.

If you change to Elantra, I am quite sure that you will get your COE... Komoco doesn't have this guaranteed price business... it's just a rebate level which they set... and they will tell you what level they will bid for the COE... so you know that you should get the COE unless it spikes for whatever reason. If C&C has more of such customers then they also happy. Less work to do. I just went today after I left my car for 1.5 days to do my 10k servicing even though only 6.5k as I seldom drive out and also do the bumper seams respray and replacement of chrome door trim belt as they damaged it. I also managed to get my rubber seals replaced as it is cut with a pen knife when I do carbon fiber pillar so also a relief that it is a set. The respray of bumper seams seems ok but not perfect anyway not going to stare at it anyway. Perfect is to respray whole bumper which I do not see the need as there is no rock chips damage as yet.

It is just the seams small sections less than 3 cm the biggest and no one really bother to look at it anyway. Looks better than when I touch up a lot better. The respray door done recently due to the huge dent seems to blend well which I give the thumbs up except the lame mistakes they made. Anyway nothing is perfect besides my car just reached 7 mths and they say they never seen a clean car like mine for its age. Needless to say that white car is the worse color other than black to maintain.

Ha caused by C&C themselves as they dismantled the bumper and reinstall to hit the body thus resulting the corner seams to peel. Respray whole door is the big dent caused by flying object which PDR cannot make 100% repair as the paint reflection will be wavy so body filler and respray is the only option. My chrome belt trim is because they accidently polish it and resulting the chrome to be full of swirls and deep scratches. It looks cloudy too after the damage. Maybe unlucky bah but still enjoying the ride despite the many inconvenience caused to me.

I not sure about how big the alignment issue is. If its not address properly may get even bigger due to the vibration as you drive. Just check your car properly before driving home else you be making a lot of unnecessary trips. Generally they helped me do a lot of free repairs, loan cars even taxi which is appreciated.

Ownership thoughts from buying and the after sales service.

I never understand why some people don't make any effort to clean their car, new or old. It doesn't need to be spotless but at least keep it clean once a month? Some cars are so dirty you can see their hand marks around the door frame and boot area.

I washed my car at least twice a week. Cannot tahan when see fingerprints around doors and dusty. In other countries like USA, Europe, Malaysia , people don't keep their cars very clean. As long haul drive will make the cars very dirty and a snow can damage the paintwork, and roads de-icing salts. I used to drive a Ford Focus in New York and there's no point keep it clean and spotless. Other road users will just hit your car while parking.
May I know what's the fc for our k3? I just finished the 1st tank of petrol and it was 10km/L only. Abit disappointing. 70% highway 30% city. Light footed.

I got around 9.8km/l - 11.7km/l on few full tanks. Guess should be the norm for K3 FC

Hoping to hit 12km/l some time..

The bumper is not going to drop. Just that the joint is not perfect. They loaned you car and free taxis?

Yeah they provide me when I ask for it partially I also am understanding person cause I work before as a SA for C&C before despite the many inconvenience caused to me. Now I and the staffs there know each other and always the manager attends to me.

The joint issue if not serious leave it as like what you said maybe more disturbing issues pops up like my case.

I washes mine more than you. Probably 4 times per week the most as my work area is in the industrial area so very dusty especially after light shower resulting in polka dots. I like my car to look new always as the car represent my personality. :). I washes my 10 yrs old car similarly so it still look brand new inside out when I hand over to C&C.

You are not alone. I travel about 60% highway and 40% city and achieve max 12km/l. Mainly the morning traffic jam a lot as well. For a Kia is normal bah. My last 10 yrs old car not problem achieving this mileage but that one is a Toyota. Surprising the old ride is heavy with equipments with big rims.

Agreed to some is just a form of transport and suppose to serve us. But for some like me is the passion. It looks good I feel good. Like my dad always point that I love the car so much. Example if I see the road splatter with gravel and debris, I normally drive slow over but for him is run over and no business to see the paintwork damaged and said is normal. After that I have to settled the mess.

It's a transport tool but I can't stand a dirty car. I wouldn't go out of the house in dirty clothes either. But I suppose SG culture is such that you actually see people in slippers at Orchard as though they going to the beach... No effort to at least look presentable in sandals or shoes.

My K3 Ex is 1.5 months old and done 2,200 km. Consistently getting 12.5km per litre or better. 70% highway 30% city driving. Tyre pressure 240 KPa. 17" Goodyear F1 A2. Using Caltex 95 and every 4th tank 98.

    Aircon temperature set to minimum.
    I'm also quite heavy footed.

K3 mileage better than my previous ride which was a Civic FD 1.8.
