Bro...hmm and sisters attached is the metal stream color..( my choice also )

Also practically drove my SE bananas whenIhaggled for, must have, Euro style Infotainment system, which had the reverse camera. [inlove]

But sacrificed the solar film and one other thingy...can't really remember.lol

My car has been registered and possible collection date is 1st week march or latest 2nd week.

Actually seeing a lot of Kia K3 on the roads now, can't wait to join the 'Gang' :inlove:

I think used car dealers maybe can work around the MAS ruling on car loan? Agent maybe still insist 40-50% downpayment?

I believe Eurostyle is simply a brand name [:)]

Eurostyle is just a name for the HU. It is brought in by Tomo-CSE but i can't find out where it is made. Tomo-CSE also have customised HUs for some Merc. Looks like they are partner of C&C as these are available for Mercs, Kias and the Mits.
The HU has basically everything, DVD, Radio, Mp3, GPS, USB that plays movie files even. The only thing is that when u engaged in gears other than P, the image will be cut and only audio is available when u play video or DVD.

    Cheers.

20% downpayment 80% loan but this 80% loan is on 2.78% interest rate.

e.g 100k car,40k downpayment vs 20k downpayment, 60k loan vs 80k loan respectively but both loan on same interest rate 2.78%

yea, increased monthly instalment by few hundreds. If can afford that extra few hundreds per month just save longer and clear the downpayment to save on the interest incurred

Eh...how does this work with the MAS rule of 40% downpayment? There must be some paperwork to circumvent the rules right?

    All fellow K3 bros,

I realize that after the 1st and maybe 2nd batch of K3, all the rest of the K3 (EX &SX) rear brake lights are missing 2 LED lights.

My rear brake light is having 7 LED lights on each side. Did C&C short change you guys? Better get your SA to explain why this is missing. BANG table and get what you should deserved.

I believe you are referring to 2 rear Fog LED's which are not lited when you step on your brakes.

Try playing around with yr Fog dial

As for the others, u might want to depress your brake and ask someone to take a pic of it and then compare with my posted pic.

It's not shot changed. My SE explained to me. The 2 led not lit up are the rear fog lights, which will also light up when u step on brake. It's at the inner dial whee u can turn on. The 2 lights are brighter than the others

Floor mat and solar film should be easy to get. Go for Eurostyle HU if you go for SX.

Other additional things depends on your skills with SE.

If there is Bluetooth integration with the sound system, whether you have the Eurostyle head unit or not, your calls will still go through the car's sound system... I think that is the case for both the lower and higher spec K3s right? Both have Bluetooth integration.

Yah.. I think both can call using the speakers system. the only difference is EX not having the call buttons and will need to use the HU to pick up calls..thats where having Eurostyle is much easier coz its fully touchscreen and easier to navigate.

Huh? You should have a steering wheel with audio controls as well as the ability to pick up and reject calls from your mobile phone mah... that's the whole idea of the Bluetooth integration... a safe way to use the phone when you need it... I thought both spec levels have this feature?

SX has bluetooth, EX does not (buttons do not exist on steering).

In SX, both the original and Eurostyle HU support the bluetooth buttons in steering. I booked an SX with original HU a few days ago. Checked with my SE just now and confirmed the original HU also supports bluetooth.

    Next coming up with be HID headlights and audio system. Need so advice from you guys;
    1. I'm thinking to replace the entire halogen to HID headlight assembly like to earlier batches, cost more than 1k?
    2. Replace stock speakers will be good enought for eurostyle HU?

    1. Are you ready for it. HID is illegal unless it comes as stock.
2.i think aftermarket speakers should produce better sound quality if you get the right ones. I personally feel stock speakers are enough..

To Kwoni - Nice pics [thumbsup]

To Hairy wolf - I did speak to My SE concerning changing to HID, and will void your warranty, due to changing of voltage or something.

Best Check with your SE. He advises changing the bulbs to Philips or OsraM

I'm also thinking of changing some Hi FI stuff, but my brother who is into this sort of thingy say:-

If you into SQ system ( nice Mid range listening with clear vocals and instrument) the stock version may be enough.

Test by turn everything off and go for a brisk drive if you can hear loud or obtrusive tyre noise or engine noise then try 'noise insulation'

worst a small active sub woofer may be required after insulation if you need a bit of bass. Change your stock speakers if you really not satisfied after the initial changes then getmuch higher ratingspeakers. and get better internal wiring that will last through your cars life span.

But if your into earth shattering sound and bass 'its all about the Bass' then you'll need a (or 2)new power amplifier and a 8 inch subwoofer.

Best see what kind of advise your trusted Hi Fi staff can recommend.

Also if your use too listening to earth shattering movies at home then you find stock speakers a little tame.

But main rule the hifi system should not distract the driver from 'driving' :P

For headlights, can consider the plug amd play replacement leds. The good ones using latest technology of course. They are bright enough to match or better the halogens. Just not as overwhelmingly bright as HIDs.

Relatively cheap at 50-100 on ebay and easy to swap back to halogens if problems faced. Brighter den the philips crystal vison I tried.

Another alternative is halogens with higher Kelvins, eg 5000K and above. This lights may not be as bright as HIDs but the colours are white enough. They are easily replaceable as well.

Did my sound system few days back ... on the topic of noise insulation >> there's a 2nd layer of casing inside needs to be removed before can install soundproofing. Was advised the following.

1 - warranty will definitely void
2 - even after removing 2nd casing can only soundproof small sections of the door - as good as no soundproofing

In the end as advised by shop - did not do soundproofing.

ricleosg bro, looks like you are another chrome lover! Is yours a black ride? Cos chrome looks best on black. In fact, a number of items you are buying I have bought already. For that chrome window trim, note that the small A pillar chrome trim (shape like v), the bottom portion may interfere with the small chrome trim already on your ride. Give you a tip for the steering wheel chrome trim, when you install on your steering wheel, paste 2 masking tape at the 2 ends and leave it there for at least 1 or 2 days as the adhesive is not very strong and you need to set it in. Otherwise the edge may lift up.

You may be interested to know that there are interior chrome trims for all 4 doors and chrome cover for rear aircon from taobao. Unfortunately, chrome cover for front aircon don't fit as they are left hand drive. For the steering wheel logo, it is stick on over original. As for the wheel cap covers, those you showed should fit over our stock 17 inch wheels unless you are changing to aftermarket rims where most would change the entire wheel cap (but aftermarket rims usually have bigger wheel caps, so take note).

Here are pics of my ride I took recently. May upload more (including interior shots) if I am free tomorrow to take the pics.

Another alternative is halogens with higher Kelvins, eg 5000K and above. This lights may not be as bright as HIDs but the colours are white enough. They are easily replaceable as well.

    actually really depends on luck.

some ppl have passed LTA inspections with 5000k halogens.

or even if the bulb doesnt pass overall pass.

on the road less worry of getting stopped since there are actual K3s on HID from factory. so how will the LTA/TP know whether this K3 is stock halogen or stock HID white lights?

Change your stock speakers if you really not satisfied after the initial changes then get much higher rating speakers. and get better internal wiring that will last through your cars life span.

But if your into earth shattering sound and bass 'its all about the Bass' then you'll need a (or 2) new power amplifier and a 8 inch subwoofer.

Best see what kind of advise your trusted Hi Fi staff can recommend.

Also if your use too listening to earth shattering movies at home then you find stock speakers a little tame.
But main rule the hifi system should not distract the driver from 'driving' :P

Haha...no lah, not So hardcore lah, I'm not sure what's the quality of eurostyle HU with aftermarket speakers, no point having good speaker where HU cannot make it, vis versa. Anyway tks bro for the link

Hi guys, I have test drove the K3 lately and still deciding whether to commit on K3 SX over other cars or not.

    My feedback on K3:

+ spacious interior with rear A/C vent, comfortable for passengers

+ interesting ventilated driver seat, quite a good feature in our hot climate

+ lots of features (keyless entry, electric memory seats, multi-zone A/C, many more..)

    + decent pricing

    - steering wheel lacks feedback and driving feel not as engaging

    - ride doesnt feel as planted to ground during cornering

    - fuel consumption

    - 2 airbags

Any bros here can share their valuable experience (good/bad) on driving a K3?

    Thanks much!

+Features are K3's strong points. Besides those interior SX features, you get ESP, VSMS, Traction Control, DRLs, Front parking sensors, Smart welcome light/keyless entry, which u dun usually get in Japanese and even some conti cars.

    - Have you tried out the 3 steering modes? Sports, Normal, Comfort? I personally feel Comfort mode less engaging due to lesser feedbacks..but I like light steering anyway..not a racer lol!

    - The VSMS actually works to bring the car to the ground esp at high speed.U wun feel it during test drive since u dun usually go beyond 80 on the test routes. When going over bumpy curveroads (esp on PIE)I can actually feel the vehicle attempted to minimise the rocking by the suspension. it also soaks up the bumps really well..but u really have to change out the stock tires first to feel the difference..

-Fuel consumption Im getting 8.2L/100km now during my running in...

-yes its a disappointment they reduce from 6 airbags to 2 airbags in the latest SX range...

Yup the power pack features really made K3 a value for money purchase.

Yes, i tried the steering mode in "sports" during test drive.

You got a point on the test drive route, it wasn't fast enough to feel how the car reacts during higher speed.

Think i only get to experience the VSMS after buying the K3.. Haha

bro then your headlamp dust cover cap still can close? or you let it open?

i leave the dust cover cap open...as there is a fan that helps dissipate heat. keeping the dust cover closed will defeat the purpose and possibly make the unit overheat / fail prematurely?

dust may enter the round housing of the main headlights within the bigger clear housing, but the overall clear housing should still be dust free.

    Dear Bros,

Just got a comment from 1 of my colleagues about my car and the new Hyundai Elantra.

"OMG Hyundai Elantra 2016 new model at S$ 100,999 and look like i40 Hyundai taxi"

So we went into sgcarmat to compare and noticed not much difference in features or specs.

His car is due for scraped in a year so he's eagerly anticipating the new Kia K3.

Meanwhile the Kia K3 is the baseline that my colleague will compare to other cars.

I bought a damn good car, but hmm hopefully the servicing not so 'siong' :scared:

    Morning Bros,

Just collected my car yesterday and had a few owners of various 1.6 cars (Mazda, Toyota and even a continental).Test drive.

My office have quite a mix of car owners, (test drive was along Bishan, Marymount road, Ang Mo Kio and Upper Thomson).

so these are some of their comments are:-

huh! got so many gadget in the car, like continental, you know how to use everything?!

Ride very solid, even though had 4 adults inside and all above the 80 kg weight mark. [blush]

Love the memory seats and lumber support. and the air vent on the drivers side.

Not much Zoom zoom but nice smooth ride and bumps are easily absorbed.

got all good comments and personally great comfortable ride.

I'm more curious what the toyota owner have to say?

Thought Hyundai and KIA is same? Now Hyundai is lacking behind KIA?

If u compare the previous version. Not the latest "2017" elantra that looks like a sonata, i would say the k3 has much more features vs the elantra. Only the engine and drive train is the same base for k3 n elantra.

With the 2017 elantra, i would say it has caught up or even overtaken the current k3. Example is the lane assist and blind spot warning features which the k3 dowant not have

Lets see what the 2017 kia k3 specs are when cnc brings it in.

You use ceramic pro light or ceramic pro 9H? Costs? I was quoted it's about $1.5k. Thanks for you help

I did mine after discount $1.5k too depends what promotion they have.. 5 layer 9H with 1 layer light.

I recommended 2 of my colleagues' brand new car and they all take up the offer. At first skeptical, but after using, they like it a lot. But the first pinch of the price usually deter.

Strange they rejected my brother's Jazz as it is a single stage paint.

Hi, where to do the ceramic pro? Can recommend and what is the price? I collected the car a week ago. Thanks.

One located in Yishun, west side at Soon Lee.

I'm more curious what the toyota owner have to say?

Lol the comment of the Toyota Altis owner was the first line.

"huh! got so many gadget in the car, like continental, you know how to use everything?!"

Anyway just spoke to my colleague, hes 64, he thinks Altis is more spacious and a bit more acceleration. ride is good.

Kia was comfortable and feels weighty(heavier) stable but steering a bit "too centred". But he wished Altis had the memory and Air flow seats.

So I think pretty good comment from a owner of more established brand. :D

Btw my SX no mud guard also..

"Let's see how many times you go to workshops in 5yrs time"

Probably that's the only thing they can say...

    Ya I guess so.

I guess the reasons why owners who bought the over priced altis, are definitely not because of the interior or features. Most likely they think other brand will spoil easily or resale value low etc...

sx vs standard altis got ard $13k diff before interest, got enough to let them visit workshop many Times lo

Buy car no need to be bother of what others comment, whether they like it or not. Cause they are not the one who pay for your car instalment. Lol.

By right, altis vs Korean car, the difference should be around 10k de. Even decade ago, think the difference in car price is always the same. The only thing now is altis seems to be selling more and more expensive, be it new or used. Last time don't think altis overpriced so much.

You might as well say it does not feel like a $100k car and OMV only about $1k plus compared to a SX K3. But upfront so much.. Seen the car before K3 but my feel does not feel the price. Yeah Altis is a damn solid car. Never repair for more $3k throughout 10 yrs serving me. Even the tech when I was working at C&C said that the Cerato Variant 2 is solid car.

I think a lot are leaning to old generation thinking where by Kia is a lousy Korean car. I happen to wash my car and there is this 50s old guy talking to another elder guy about cars and badmouthed Korean cars which is seemly aimed at me (Jealous that a 20 yo+ can buy a car now older still can buy a new car, heard from others) as previously he talked about Altis is a lousy car which is my old car for 10 yrs. Really want to bash him up. No money still want to buy car and if buy left 1 yr or so.

The other elder guy said Korea cars are improved but this idiot simply puts it down when he said he wanted to buy Elantra.

Well he is quite notorious for bragging of how he can afford expensive cars and no body gives a damn anyway ha..

If Altis is made in Japan still justifiable.

Even compare to similar class from Honda or Nissan, altis is still few k more with lesser features. I think they market themselves as LV bags
