I will drive my new car the first day like I would drive my old car any day, yes, include high rev and no problem to go nshw and hit above 160km/h like I did with my previous car (odo only read 700+km)... And my current car at 9th year, engine is still as quite as first day and not drinking EO... Odo already hit 223k+...

I already don't believe in run-in 10+yrs ago and I don't see the reason now with technology advancement.... Anyway, not everyone can accept my school of thought thou... Hehehhe

I would suggest to sign the standard non-guaranteed package first. After few bidding if it still not successful, your SE will give you an option to top up for guaranteed COE.

From there then you can decide whether you want to top up or not.

It depends on whether you need the new car urgently, your view on the COE trend, and whether you are comfortable with the additional price for guaranteed. If you choose to go with non-guaranteed, make sure to think through of what-if scenarios (what if the top up price is too high? what if you don't get COE after 6 bids). It will lessen your anxieties if you plan ahead.

Well I said risk shortening the lifespan...you may be lucky your vehicle is good.

Did my speakers next door to Vkool at autoimage in Sin Ming. Actually was just browsing lol, while waititng for my Vcool to be done.

Choice of shops is also because, my office is just 10 mins away [thumbsup]

Also I think the speaker compartment are a bit on the medium side so there's a limit to speaker size.

Also music or sound is very subjective, I'm more to the slow rock or new age music where the emphasis, is on crisp/clear highs, mids are�mellow yet 'authoritive'. Bass is tight not 'boomy'

Anyway here is my choice; speakers are Boston Acoustics SL60 (6 components, 2way with separate tweeters) and amp is a Rainbow Beat 4.

Try the place out,�look for Ted, tell him budget and music preference and he'll recommend and let you hear the speakers of your choice or just try a few.

Still have bluetooth functions + able to mirror my android phone to HU screen for google maps or videos and still have link to steering wheel controls

1st and foremost this is my personal opinion on this warranty issue ...

If simply changing HU or speakers will void warranty - then based on same logic, change tyres change rims should also void warranty. Like that change wiper oso must go back to C&C.

Don't make sense right?

Changing HU should not void overall car warranty - unless *touch wood* your car burst into flames 1 day and found out due to faulty wiring while upgrading your HU.

Other than that should be safe.

Again this is my personal opinion only. I trust you can figure out and decide for yourself.

Bro i try answer u ...

1) Is it the Eurostyle unit? Or is it another brand? Can share how much you paid for it? And where you got it fixed up? - HU is Kenwood DDX7015 at $1050 (HU + panel + reverse cam) and got it fitted at Wee Heng auto at serangoon. Nice bunch of people there.

2) Is your HU running Android Car? - no idea what that is, so i'd say no

3) Does the mirroring work with all apps on the phone? I suppose you still have to touch the phone to get the apps to work? The mirroring is just that right - images on the HU screen? - So far it works with all apps on my android. I opt for wireless mirroring therefore whatever is on my phone is displayed on the screen. All controls to be done on the phone. If i had chosen for cable/wired mirroring option then will be able to perform "true mirroring" - you can control the phone and apps from the HU touchscreen. You can find demo video on youtube.

4) Does the HU interface lag? When you try to use its functions. - i assume you want to know if theres lag when mirrored. Very minor lag for me. Even tried mirror and run youtube videos - some lag if phone place in compartment where original usb are. But when placed at drinks compartment beside handbrake very minimal to no lag noticed. But this are due to wifi wireless connections. No Interface lags though during mirroring.

5) Are you aware if your HU accommodate in-car camera - like use the screen to view the videos? - only connected reverse cam. Not sure if able connect dashcam to it but there are 2 video outlets for the HU. Maybe possible - i'm not sure.

6) How's Google Maps on the HU? I note that usually people use Google Maps on their phones in portrait orientation, but as the HU screen is landscape orientation, how does that affect how Google Maps operates and displays? - if your phone is potrait orientation, HU will also be in potrait. As the term mirroring.

7) I assume the HU has an audio system? How's the quality of the audio processing? - not sure how to answer this. Quite alot of setting can be done on the HU, ontop of equaliser with wide range adjustment, bass control and woofer controls, can also do manual time delay if u like the audio from front(concert feel) or centre (more surround). But also have auto mode - i select to medium sedan and the time delay auto set. Adding to that my upgraded speakers and underseat woofer - i find for less than 2k i hv got a decent ICE. Tested even before connecting woofer and the bass was good enough actually. The woofer just makes it complete. Don't even need to reuse my old amplifier. The HU itself sufficient to support.

8) Does the HU allow you to sort by albums or singers or whatever meta data for your music and videos if you play back from the USB drive? I assume your HU is connected to the car's USB drives. - i do my sorting on the USB. But if remeber correctly can choose to further sort from HU via singer , album and if not wrong genre too. Need to check again. But all data must 1st be input into the mp3 or mp4 before adding to usb.

When mirror google map at potrait - HU screen only 1/3 of it itilised and will be in middle. Set ur phone landscape to fully utilise HU screen.

Music selection can select from HU based on - artist / album / genre / song

Me 2nd bidding just converted to guaranteed. 1st bid on non-guaranteed did not get as C&C only bid $39,999. All the best tmr as i think coe might drop slightly since the backlog had been cleared.

Are you driving city or highways? Normally fc will be high on city driving for all cars. Also, tyres do play a part. Invest in a good set of tyres with low rolling resistance.
