    Hi bros n sis

    Loves the looks with bodykit.
May I know how much C&c is charging for the bodykit?
How about outside selling price for bodykit?

    Thanks
  • 04 October 2015 - 01:59 PM
    7hm

BTW, for those Bro who has got the SX with sun roof, will it be very noisy on heavy downpours ?

Also, any issue so far with water slippage ?

    TIA...

My ride has a sunroof like K3 SX, but it's not a K3. Frankly in rain it doesn't sound any noisier than a normal roof, sometimes it even sounds quieter, but that's probably the insulation more than the glass. It sounds less like the usual metallic thunkthunkthunk.

I hate the shape of the doors when opened - front as well as back.

That's a novel complaint, I'll give you that! [laugh] Can elaborate? [grin] No leh, really, I'm interested to know!

The bodykit normally they say they cut off $2,000 if you decline to have it installed on your SX Sport. I think outside will be different price as different kit.

Sounds bad if they are going to start scrimping on equipment as this was their key differentiator to hyundai.

Sounds like a cycle of some sort... first batch was better equipped with xenon headlamps... then next batches were reduced... then come up with SX Sport batch with the full works... now another batch with reduced equipment?

Buy from original lo.. outside ones looks different and dimensions different.. unless you want non- K3 bodykit look...

Just went to Kia showroom today.

They have increase the price back to 94999 and 104999 (non-guarantee)...and98999 and 108999 (guarantee)

The increase is because they expect COE to remain strong this Wednesday due to the mass order from BM Toyota Altis stock clearance...

Also heard that from next batch onwards, they are bringing in SX model with less equipment to reduce the high car cost...

Things that will be gone are sun-roof, 6 air-bags and some others...

    TIA...

Heard abt the downgrade in specs too.. heng to those who buy recently to get the full works at the current price.. see no point in short changing buyers just bec of currency exchange rate differences..

price got drop from 104999 meh?

Whatever specs are written when you bought will be delivered. Probably for future new orders

I heard down-spec will be for future batches...now they are still selling September batch...likely October batch still same spec...

I asked the SE about the new price but he say don't know yet but likely slightly cheaper..

Maybe in future no more 10K difference between EX and SX...maybe 6-7K difference...just guessing.. -_-

It's not noisy on heavy downpours. As 7hm mentioned, in fact with sunroof the noise is even softer without the usual rain hitting metal "thunk thunk" sound. As for the slippage, no issue so far. It comes factory kitted from Korea if u order the SX, so probably quite safe.

C&C is charging $1k for the bodykit, if SX request to de-kit bodykit, u get $500 in return. Seriously, u can nego the price when u confirm on buying.

Outside is selling $1k++ (see pic below) . Personally, I prefer the Original C&C one.. more subtle, and if u carbonise it looks chio =)

Yesterday, I accompanied a friend to go see the K3 after I have one myself weeks back.

Price went up $1k as expected.

Naturally he go for EX as he still find $10k difference is too much but his car left less than 3 wks more so if he wanted quick delivery, he would have to go for SX though color is an issue too.

As he intend to take up very low loan as such he is not eligible for $3k discount. Even if he is taking loan, doubt any banks want to loan him as he is a retiree with $0 income. Based on this he is trading in his solar flim, Eurostyle infotainment and 3 yrs servicing with guaranteed COE to offset the $3k discount not given. Even should he take up insurance, cannot get at least $1.5k.

Is it worthwhile? I think is not really. He can pay cash money no prob.

Now Eurostyle infotainment not a granted free gift already. Thought is free.

Yup, no paint protection can protect against physical damage... maybe mild chemical can, but this will also wear off..

Best is to just accept the dinks and dents , then after 3 yrs go do a 1 time "facial" to respray or patch the dents...

Those having white color will also see a discoloration after some years , when the white will become light beige... can't be helped la...chemical property...

I find that despite this, it still can resist the rock to touch the paint, I see that there is some damages but held up well and cannot see any damages unless purposely find it which is hard too. Unless the rock is big and fast.

The free 2 items are Solar Film and Dashcam instead of Eurostyle I think.

    1) Frankly, for the retiree, I'd advise him to get another 3-4 yrs left small car.. since he no income and retired and probably has some cash in hand to live off.. no point splurge on a new car and a down spec one at that. and still have to scrimp and save every cent to get this new car... one of my bosses bought a 8 yr old Lexus GS300.. only $54K, OMV 50K+ take back 25K+, so net depn per yr is abt 14K.. damn wu hua and the condition is superb.. drive liao song song like tao kay and can renew 5 yr COE if is still good condition.. 2 yrs left Lexus at 54K (+60K 5 yr COE renewal) vs new K3 at 94K, you say leh? Esp for a older retiree.....

    2) Yup, the paint protection shld be able to resist small rock dings.. but best practice is to drive far behind dump trucks and on roads with loose stones...

Haha.. its ok bro.. diff SE give diff "free gifts" and even same SE will give diff "gifts" at diff times...

Depends how much comm the SE is earning from the "side orders" too, like if u take up their car loans, take the guaranteed COE, take their insurance, do a trade in etc.. they also earn a bit from all these, and can give u a bit more "freebies" if their comm is higher.. so no point compare what one buyer got as free gift to another buyer, bec diff people buy diff things and diff SE too...

Just be happy with what you got, and if not, then go change it ! Not a lot of $$ anyway...

I don't think your friend can afford it. Giving up a bunch of freebies just to get a 3k discount off a car that costs 100k.

Also not sure what you are trying to say. First you say he is taking up a low loan, hence not eligible for 3k loan discount. Then you say you doubt banks will offer him a loan as he has $0 income. Lastly you say he can pay in cash, no problem.

How old is he as a retiree? If 6x, would advice him get a good condition 4/5years 2nd hand drive until scrap. Honestly speaking if he has lots of retirement fund, and able to part that 100k full cash, I dont think need to bother the $3k freebies, coz he easily save > $5k on interest alone..

    Save >$5K on interest??

You forget that the $100K in fixed deposit alone in 5 years can yield over $9,500 not yet compounded, (e.g. CIMBank FD at 1.9%). Not forgetting gov savings bonds can give you even more. And as US interest set to goes up, the SG deposit and interest rate will also go up over the next 5 years...

In the end, you don't save much by not taking loan interest that is flat and fixed now at lower rates...

Precisely. assuming there's possibility of taking 100% loan, Interest incurred over 5years = $11.4k
Which if u take loan, and use the $$ to do invest have better returns.

I didn't bother to check. The last 4x, I just start the engine and off I go. Worst was the last one. Forget to release the foot brake for some distance!!!!!Thereafter, I never use the foot brake except when parking on a visible slope.

    Hi,

got Coe yesterday (1st bid). SE called and asked me to pay balance payment and prepare delivery in 2 weeks.

But my current ride only end beginning of Dec and, in addition, I will be away for 3 weeks in Nov, so thinking to get new car only when I am back in Dec.

SE told me likelynot possible as his Mgr needs the car to beregistered/delivered latest end Oct.

Can I insist and do not pay balance payment ?

Any advice how I should go about delayingregistration/delivery ?

    Thanks in advance !

Usually once you get you coe, agent would not allow you to delay collection of car more than 1 month lo. Esp you want to delay for 2 months.

    Hi,

got Coe yesterday (1st bid).

The SE will be Or-Gong due to car not delivered.

Dunno abt you insisting not paying the balance payment to delay taking the car, but your SE will kena...

Also during the balance payment, you will be signing all the forms for the insurance, new car registration, transfer of the old car (if any), etc paperwork, then the SE will proceed to to prep the car for delivery in 2 weeks.. so still got some time between signing all the form and making balance payment, to actual take over of the car... by then shld be end of Oct liao...

Talk to the SE n Mgr and see if can do a amicable solution, instead of ngeh ngeh dun pay and make the SE life difficult.. won't end up good for all, esp if you need the SE help later if someting goes wrong with your new car....

Since the car is as good as yours, you need to pay for it. But you can collect it anytime by informing theseller not to register the car till you are ready to collect it.10 years start running from the day the car is registered and ARF etc paid. Your COE is valid for3 months.

i have received some PMs with regards to the HU interface. So i thought of sharing it here for everyone.

1)download the file from the link below your own risk.

    2)upload them to a thumbdrive/SD card

    3)Plug it in your HU

4)Go to Apps->files->SDcard or USB *I cant remember the exact path but you can easily find it.

5)Find the .rrui file and double click on it

6)The system will prompt you to install the theme. Click yes.

*Disclaimer* You will be solely responsible and liable for any damages/malfunctions/losses arising from using the files the link below. I have tried a few so far and there are no issues as of now. Download and try your own risk.

Sorry for the sibei kiasu disclaimer, but because some you here are using the HU for the reverse camera purpose and i saw from 1 of the Malaysia user that 1 of the theme doesn't work well with the reverse camera, so i thought it's better to include the disclaimer just in case something happens.

Take a HU, you can enjoy it for 10 years. Coating will wear off in a few years max, better you have regular washes and waxes to keep it looking good.

If you have $1k to spare, can get a aftermarket HU + Coating for $8xx.. espeiclally wif a few groomers on 3 for price of 2 promo, or introductory offer.

    With PPS, easily u can save yr $$ on car washes ($8 x 2) & waxes ($50)every month.. Already $8xx a year liao.. multiply 2 ?

which brand of coating is popular and gd value for $$ currently ar?

Permanon is one of the cheaper ones and they will come to you for the job, but they require some reapplication on your own.

GroomersLab price is a bit higher but they advertise pretty high resistance, relatively speaking. Come in group of two (new cars only) though and Rendall will give second car 50% off I think.

My one is on Ceramic Pro. But is one of the most expensive available.

So far so good. Helped to deter one b**tard who tried to scratch my new car but fail but only damage the paint protection layer without touching the paint. There is always a jealous sicko who scratch every new cars one can find.

Rock chips well nothing can prevent but this coating does its job well to resist.

    What is PPS?

    Paint protection system.

Refer to additional layer of protection above original paint. Keeping the car newer longer with less hassle of maintenance. Some improve scratch resistance + rock chip resistance. All should be able to avoid water spots, poos from birds without damaging the surface.

Need the pro advice by you all.

I paid for a K3 (basic) almost 4 COE bids ago. COE then was roughly 57k.

I thought I got a decent deal but the COE bid keep failing.

Worse so now, since Cat A is only roughly 55k.

Why did the agent bid so low?

The agent told me that they were bidding at about 50-52k.

Didn't I buy the car with COE at around 57k? Are they screwing me over?

Or am I too noob to this car buying thing?

Hi, when you bought the car, shd have indicated COE rebate amount (maybe 49k). That's the bottom line they have to secure your COE. Not based on the current COE.

According to my SE, he ask his clients non-guaranteed EX to top up 3k to get the car.

I like KAI K3 very much but the terms and condition offer was not as good as Huyndai about 4 months ago.

I went for Hyundai and got 6K rebate from COE and 5K from CEVS.

mmmmm CEVS for the Hyundai Elantra? or is it another model you are talking about.

The Elantra didnt qualify for CEVS previously compared to the K3 that had the 5K CEVS rebate before July this year.

You kidding me? I paid 93999 for the car expecting coe to be about 57k. End up my rebate level is 50k only?

Can any other Bro or Sis share their rebate level? And their final COE amount?

You should look at the terms and conditions first on the rebate level between guranteed and non guaranteed bid before committing to buy bro.

Well known that the rebate for non guaranteed is much lower.

some question you have to ask yourself.

    1. What's the rebate level specify for the price of 93999?

    2. Did you just take the freebies given by the SE or you squeeze the SE for more freebies?

Normally the standard freebies comes out from the company and the maximum amount COE for non-gurarantee COE also determine by the company. The extra freebies comes out from the pocket of the SE (from their commission) and if you don't squeeze for additional freebies, sometime they'll get the office to bid slightly higher than the amount decide by the company and the difference comes out from the SE pocket.

I'm not an SE but from my visit to the ADs 2 months ago and talk to them, that's what I find out from the old bird SE when you go to the showroom on weekdays with not much crowd and chit chat abit with them while looking at the car.

Just sent my car to 1st servicing and do up the bodykit since my adhesive is wearing out some areas and replaced front grille as well. But quite furious when checking my car after I park my car at my carpark.

No prob with the servicing and grille but very upset of my bodykit.

1 - Use of sealant which would change colour and breakdown after few years the road.

2 - Because the sealant is very strong as such put a lot of pressure on the bodykit result in cracking at 2 corners edges.

Does any bro face this issue? Some said the local bodykit is cheapo so quality nothing great.

    Thinking of making a complain.

mmmm C&C have different front grille design to change to?

wonder how would a strong sealant cause pressure though, or is it the removal of the body kit to apply sealant causing the cracks?

I'm not too sure about the sealant issue, but if they caused your bodykit to crack then that's something to point out to them. Did you do it on the spot? Else now they can say you knocked it yourself and caused the crack...

    Hi there,

Shouldbe collecting my SX next weekend.

Would like to check with K3 owners.....for those who have got their Thinkware H50 front cam from C&C, how was the installation ?

Did the installer hide the cables and connect direct to the battery ? Heard there are some installers who did not connect direct to the battery but just connect to the car socket...

Also, for the body kit, saw from the showroom car that the installation quality seems quite bad....there is quitebig gap (for side skirt) with the car body (centre portion)...shouldn't;t they have some tape/sealant that seal up those gaps ?

Understand that C&C actually does all installation in-house in their Pandan warehouse before delivery (including Rikecool 28 and Eurostyle), so don't know how is the installation quality like...anything particular to pay attention to during delivery ?

    Thanks in advance !

C&C will wire direct to the fuse box.

for the body kit, apart from gaps, check for paint color matching. some bros here the white body kit did not match the snow pearl white.

eurostyle shouldnt have problems, test to make sure rear camera engages in reverse gear.

    solar film, check for bubbles.

My outside done up car cams also wire to fuse..

My bodykit also got small small gaps, livable la.. my bodykit color also a bit beige compared to car color.. but really cannot see if you dun stare too hard...

Solar film swee swee no bubble,, but i think the front windscreen no solar film bec it feels heat radiating from it whenever i come in or drive..

On the sealant issue, my old car bodykit also sealant that last a few years, but wont crack anything,, most likely the cracks from installation etc... once over a few years just go outside and pay a bit to reapply the sealant, then will be OK...

On the COE rebate amt, it is not the COE bid amt.. normally the COE bid price is 2-5K above the rebate level depending on the co... coe rebate is just to tell you the refund if the COE price really hit below this amt.. which wont happen nowadays... onemotoring has the price breakdown and lets you see how much the COE price is bid and priced into the car price... a good indication ... hope this helps..

When I bought it, it was:

    1. $94,999 advertised price
    2. COE was at ~$57000
    3. Signed at $93,999
    4. COE rebate was $50,000
    5. So definitely not the $55,399 COE
    6. Feel like I got the short end of the stick.

Once again, can anyway who have secured their K3 EX share their COE Rebate level and purchase price?

actually you can check the price list on SG car mart from C&C. The rebate level is usually standard based on the advertised prices.

differences from deal to deal are the freebies and discounts.

The dealers will always try fulfill their guaranteed COE bids before putting in more effort on the non guaranteed deals.... With COE going down, the non-guaranteed deals make sense, but just means you have to wait longer.

I don't think you were getting the bad deal. Of course, it can be better with few freebies thrown in.

I myself secured guaranteed package with $2.5k discount, but I do feel my package was only comparable with yours. Surely my COE rebate was $53k, but if COE bid turns out to be more than $53k, the guarantee or non-guarantee will not make a difference. And I foresee that COE will be higher on next bidding. You will know if you viist Toyota showroom and saw how they close the deals on Elegance Altis.

Btw, now that I didn't negotiate the Solar Film, I wonder if there is recommendation on good and affordable third party solar film for K3? It will cost me another $800-$900 should I add this in.
