    Alamak. I noticed I type 104.s for Mazda3. Should be 10.4s. [crazy]

I thought it was 11.7sec. The 10.4s was for the 2L version.

Hmm.. you are right. I re-checked their specs card and it's 11.7s. But 2.0L is 8.9s (respectable).

    Sorry about that.

104 secs may be realistic if u drive that crap Avanza loaded with 7 passengers as directed by Toyota.... hahaha

That thing already took a coma inducing 17 secs to hit 100km/h, and that's manufacturer figs, actual will be even slower.

You're right unless you buy at guarantee COE. AD will bid for those with higher price first.

Even at a higher price, there is also a difference between the one who go all the way to squeeze the SE for freebies and those who just take what the SE offer. The one who squeeze the SE may not get the COE as the priority will go to the one who just take what the SE offer.

Just came back from KIA showroom. They're running a special promotion from today till Monday to celebrate SG50. Tempting to sign on the dotted line but I don't want to rush into signing.

AD suggest me to get the guarantee COE for the K3 SX sport to get the free servicing worth $2000. Basically I top $2000 for it only. Think worth while?

I am going to decide this weekend after testing 2 models which i shortlisted with my family.

i went for the guarantee COE too . all depend on individual see where COE is heading rite..
showroom is all pack lately, if the orders and absorb the extras COE then i tink COE will hover ard here

  • 07 August 2015 - 12:52 PM
    Tydros
I think why Kia K3 is so heavy is partly because

    1) Maybe the variety and many functions of the car made it heavy (Power memory seat/Ventilated air conditioned seat)
    2) I've looked up this car in many parts of the world and apparently only India and Singapore has the 1.6L model. So basically it's a 1.8/2L model standard but Singapore only brings in 1.6L here. Even Malaysia is selling the 1.8/2L model. So there's the weight implication putting a small cc engine in there.

    Just my 2 cents opinion

6 bid guarantee COE and most likely to get on first bid or 2nd bid if the COE didn't go up too much or if COE goes down.

    I am not surprise...

Check the new car price section and see yourself...Hyundai Elantra has already shoot up by $11k within this week.

A few months back many SEs were telling their potential customers that the COE prices will go up as people are buying cars before the changes in CEV kicks in in July. And due to the "HUGE" backlogs, COE prices will go up... In fact, it came down ...

All these are sales tactics to "scare" potential buyers. If you fall into it now, you shall regret later...unless your current car has reached 10 years, else why not wait?? REMEMBER SEs ARE sales people...and their main target is to earn your money...no matter what BS

That one was a pricing error as the listed price was the lowest tier. If you compare this week's lowest tier pricing, it has gone up by 2k only.

There is no way any dealer can raise prices by 11k now and get away with it. COE supply is reaching a peak in Q2 2016 when the 2.7k quota from Q1 2006 goes back into the quota. Prices are expected to hover around the current level +/- 3k if demand holds.

The July pricing for Hyundai got a mistake. They listed 84k++ with COE rebate of 46K which is way too low. The aug pricing is 95K with 56K COE rebate.. see the price must also see the COE rebate..

nobody can predict whether COE will rise or fall unless it's the GM of the big ADs like C&C and BM because they will know how many orders they take and how many they will bid and how many they intend to secure. Otherwise, believing in an SE's sales talk on COE going up is just bull****

I only believes in what I see...

Over these 2 weekend, I can see there is really increase of buyers in most of the showroom in Leng Kee area.

And I believe that these "potential" buyers doesn't go there because of the free $10-$20 petrol vouchers for test driving the car.

Demand from 1766 bids before 1st July COE rebate, raise to 1891 bids, raise to 1966 bids, raise to 2466 bids. Last round of759 backlogs to clear...And like what Imac says, the showroom did showed an increase of people gg to test drive, when I drove past Ubi.

I've received more than 1 car brand SE sms-ing me, confirming at least $2k increase across board. Now what ?

All the brands AD are ganging up and play the rising COE game. If so what can you do ?

Now is the time where buyers who are willing to pay for $50++k COE are flooding in

Actually the so call backlog maybe is not the real backlog as in some of the backlog maybe individual buyers who bid at a very low price and some of them maybe is 6 bid non-guarantee COE package with a rebate of 40K to 46K. So the real backlog from the guarantee COE package at a rebate of 54K may not be so many.

To maintain the COE price at above 50K, the AD / sellers need to have a large number of buyers who pay for guarantee COE package at the rebate level of 50K and above. So if lesser people took the guarantee COE package rebate level of 50K and above, we'll see the COE price drop below 50K. The high COE price is due to kancheong spider who go for guarantee COE package despite that they don't need the car urgently.

I would encourage those buyers who're to sign for non-guarantee COE package if they're not in a hurry to get a new car. Come, let's us bring downthe COE price to below 50K andfurther down.[;)]

Very standard. Car mat and car cover. In-car camera and solar film automatically given. And of course extra key holder pouch as I got two keys. I did not want to ask too many as I know SE needed to come out from her own pocket.

not sure if this has been mention elsewhere,,

If you have bad radio reception (hissing sounds)... check if you have your handphone or electronic gadgets charging using the USB car charger (plug in car cigarette port), try to disconnect from your devices.. your radio reception likely will be better.

    cheers

Just saw the latest price list from KIA and the package which I bought for K3 went up $2000/-. Lucky bought my unit last fri.

Haha, I also thought it was a gimmick to get people to put deposit down...

The price might be increased to put pressure on fence sitters to sign the deal and not because they are expecting the next round of COEs to increase by 2k. If most others ADs are doing likewise, increasing their prices, then it might not be a gimmick.

Did Kia not increase their prices by 1-2k a few days before the last COE exercise only to see the price increase by only $300 for Cat A? If there is a history, then obviously it is a gimmick.

Guys. What do car dealers hate most?

    Falling coe prices.

    Why?

Falling prices make buyers wait in anticipation of further price reduction.

This hurts sales and is a vicious cycle.

If everyone is smart (not everyone is), we will see coe softening.

To counter this. AD fiddles with human psyche. They increase prices marginally to make buyers esp fence sitters panic.

This is how the market works and there's no counter .

For me ... I believe in waiting. And market forces should eventually soften coe. Unless govt measures kick in

Go to Sgcarmart and look at the Price History for the particular model and it becomes quite obvious which ADs resort to such tricks. Mazda is another one. The SEs from these ADs should be very familiar with the routine. A week before COE exercise, they start calling up all the fence sitters and start announcing price about to increase. I bet after the 2k increase, if i were to go down today and ask for a 2k discount, they may give it willingly or offer it themselves without asking. The tune just a few days before COE exercise may change to though price increased but we are still willing to give you the old price.

Ha always room of improvement, better than some walking away empty handed. Mine also snow white pearl as it looks bigger and easier to make it look sportier as years goes by with plans to give it a panda scheme. My current ride is black and red scheme but shame has to go though it looks almost brand new inside and out. But this is Singapore bah.

I thought of asking to dechrome the grille as I feel sport does not associate with chrome very well. But the demo unit quality of the carbon is inferior and very easily scratched. Intend to do with proper 3M carbon as this is generally quite cheap outside. I shall mod it as time goes by.
