Hi, fellow k3 drivers with push start/stop button. Am i right to say our cars doesnt have the in built steering lock function?

My old car used to be able to turn the steering wheel slightly after parking and remove the keys and it will be locked.

I drove into jb over the weekend and tried to do the same with the k3 but cant seems to get it.

There is steering lock for our K3. Usually after engine off, it is activated when u open your door, u can hear the locking mechanism sound. The steering wheel is locked.

Ohhh i see, i was wondering what's the sound everytime i open my doors.

My previous car still uses key ignition so button start/stop is new to me.

    Thanks for the replies!

Wah bro new car u dare to drive to job ah?
I've went to rikecool today to replace my front windscreen film as there was a bubble in front of the driver's sight which they made it worst by pushing the bubble, end up got scratches. After replacing , immediately can see a bubble in front of passenger windscreen, and many others around. And my windscreen was left un-cleaned with lots of water marks. The workmanship by rikecool is inferior and not professional.

And I've booked for CS-2 Titanium Coating this Sat. Excited to see the results.

Drove in twice alrdy, went makan and massage. One time park right outside the massage place with their own uncle as lookout, the other time parked inside ksl. In fact i saw so many sg cars inside ksl carpark, all reverse parked with straight front wheels, i guess they're braver then me.
seems like you wanna solve one problem but end up with more. My front windscreen also have one bubble at driver's bottom size, choose to just live with it.

Sometimes customs jam people will just brush against your car, just be careful. Previously the bubble was in front of driver, I cannot live with that, can't see the bubble for 10 years, so went to replace. Now the bubble is at passenger side, so I'll live with it. Very bad experience with rikecool.

Might be the quality of the film rather than the workmanship? Some types of films are harder to install. Also depends on the type of curvature on your windscreen. Did the installer use a heat gun to treat the film to soften it so that it adheres better to the curved front glass? For my VKool they did it for the back windscreen as it had a more pronunced curvature than the front apparently.

Heat gun is to shrink the film at the "fingering" areas. I think it's more of workmanship problem. Anyway gave up with rikecool. How much u did at v kool? But I think whatever film also will be hot like oven in our sg weather.

hi bros just to check did anybody bought k3 during the cars at expo event in april and had their car registered or delivered already ? Be it the normal scheme or the uber/grab/platinum scheme ?

I bought mine using the uber/grab scheme as my dad want to drive for uber during free time as he is retiring. I got my coe during the 5th May bidding. Settled the balance payment and paperwork but still have no news on the registration. Its been about 2 weeks.

Sorry for asking this as i'm still new to this. All my previous cars are 2nd hand. Never bought first hand before.

I got my COE during 5 May bidding too. Already collected on 13 May.

Maybe the colour I chose is readily available but usual collection time might take 2-3 weeks.

Call your SE to check estimated delivery date.

    Call your SE and ask:
    1. Date of car collection.
    2. Is it waiting for shipment or ready stock.

Have to push for answer, can't leave it hanging in the air.

the meter should be for GPS signal strength.

the GPS has no way to be traffic aware unless you can get it to share your phone's data connection?

not sure if it is possible to enable this option with the eurostyle we received.

I have not collected mine too. Next is the Air-Con issues, sometimes is ok in the morning but sometime not cold but only air flow in the afternoon. Thought had service the air-cond prb, but it seems still come back the same issues after a few weeks again. Any bro here having similar prbs ? [confused]

    1. Radio reception will be affected if the halogens headlamps are mod to HID due to electrical noise.
    2. Remote control signal due to weak battery or frequent dropping of remote onto the floor.
    3. Aircon is on auto climate control, have to turn to max cold if not the air vents will blend hot air into the cabin.

    What's the average mileage of a K3? Heard it's around 9.2litre/100km

It's very much depending on your right leg, but 9.2Lt/100KM is acceptable to me.

On my trip info indicated 8.2Lt/100KM, but base on manual calculation, i'm getting 44Lt/470KM, that's 9.36Lt/100KM or 10.68KM/Lt, sometime worst.

Im not easy on throttle type of person, i usually rush from point A to B at a shortest possible time, occasionally relax driving.

I can say K3's road handling is good, compare to my previous ride FD, butt feel better due to the electronics like VSD?

Power wise not so bad if you want to have some fun, but if you decides to save some fuel and drive slowly like change gear at 2K RPM, you'll probably getting abt 44Lt/520KM. I can fall asleep when cruising below 2K RPM...haha

So if you consider a KIA, dont think too much over FC, if FC is a concerned, go for other make.

I've chosen K3 for the features that brings.

Just to share after CS-2 Titanium Coating. Car shine like mirror and not easy to have fingerprints. Previous all the white lines adhesive stains all have been removed. Now a spotless car with not even a single swirl marks. But how long it last and the hydrophobic, have to see how it goes.

The boss who applied the glass coating on my car said that there should be have a heat insulator below the car bonnet to protect the heat from the engine. Does it come with the car and C&C kelong us? Can advise?

Is yours EX? My EX doesn't have the bonnet insulator back in 2014. I got one from stockist.

Not really true. It really depends on where the COE is heading. If you read back the previous pages, Q3-4 2015 when COE is going downhill, many of us got the COE on first bid non guaranteed package. I got mine COE on non guaranteed package last year. But for now, COE probably going uphill I guess, better to get guaranteed package to avoid disappointment.

If the Coe is on the uphill it is normal that they don't secure as they will loose money in the end. Only when Coe downhill then we should book non guaranteed. Every AD has the same practice.

No choice. My current ride COE expiring soon so have to bite the bullet and buy. Few hours after I bought, MAS announces the easing of car loan hahaha...

Actually I think still not too bad, with the easing of car loan, COE is likely to go North in excess of 50k, so buying now is better than buying when the COE is higher!

After all you need solar film. And rikecool costs $900 if done outside, for v-kool or 3M cost even more. Cheaper ones have poor heat rejection. So just get this freebie bah. It has 10 years warranty.

    1. Eurostyle gps/reverse cam

    2. Rikecool solar film

    3. Front recorder

    4. Bodykit

    5. 1 year free servicing.

Got the same package as you, but opted out of the bodykit. Wife saw liao did not like it. Booked on 15 May, collected car on 28 May.

What's the different other than the head lite and rear brake lite?

    Interior?

When I booked my K3, my SE informed me that facelift was launching in June and asked if I wish to wait for it. I checked out the photos of it, and other than the headlights (new style DRL), rear brake light cluster, front and rear bumper, the interior looks exactly the same as the current model. I preferred the current look, so opted not to wait.

    Call your SE and ask:
    1. Date of car collection.
    2. Is it waiting for shipment or ready stock.

Have to push for answer, can't leave it hanging in the air.

Bro, just to check that when we on the head light , is the DRL on as well ? According to the information downloaded from the net,the DRL is auto off when the head light is on .

You did glass coating at CS-2?

Dear Coolbluepica, is this the item Icemountainman is quering? Is yrs same as mine? Meaning: is there another insulator to help the glass? Never seen/heard such, in my 67+ yrs - but not wanta dismiss mountainman's query, lightly. The glass area is cool enough. As it is sunshine heats it more than engine heat!

Bro glass coating is a paint protection. The insulation under bonnet he mentioned is the piece under side of the bonnet. You totally did not understand what we wrote.

There is no silent and grippy tyres. Grippy always comes with noise. But better grippy tyres have less noise. Can try Goodyear F1 A2 or Conti Sport Contact 5.

C&C did not polish the car well , maybe this is not their forte and they have hundreds of cars to polish for car delivery. It's very obvious on black cars , adhesive stains left by protection sheets during car shipment. I also paid to do Zertona PPS but the adhesive stains was not removed and PPS applied to have patchy effect. All these was rectified when I went to CS-2 for PPS. it was then a perfect paintwork

To me it was a regret to take up Zertona from C&C and happy that I did CS-2.

It doesn't matter if you park under shade most of the time. A good PPS is to give a more intense and even colour , better protection against dirt and rain, better hydrophobic effect. I have not washed my car for one week after all the rain and shine daily. And it's still clean and glossy with no dirt and water marks.

I'm going for Ceramic next week, probably share more then

Mine looks fine... doesnt spread out vertically?

    ~HELP~

I get these strange vibrations when driving my EX leh, like if you sing out a song right, your voice will vibrate a bit. I sing alot while driving and in my old car it wasn't like that...

Any peeps out there can tell me why liddat? Maybe suspension problem.. but normal driving I feel ok.

Thanks. Will you be doing at CS-II too?

$1082 and optional offset $25 gift card or can keep and use for car washing. I went for Titanium coating. Not sure about ceramic and glass. But I think just do the best since already doing PPS.

I think it's the noisy Nexen tyres.

Whoah, titanium is like the best out of the rest. $1k seems quite high but if you think of it for the long run, it's probably okay. But I read for titanium, the warranty is for 3 years. Not sure if after 3 years need to re-do again. If so, then that's another $1k. Wahh..

    Hi Guys,

Anyone into mod? Cosmetic, enhancement, ICE...whatever.

I find KIA has very little mod support availability, or modding DNA's not in KIA?

Not bad ah. The fc is quite ok.

11kmlitre sounds about right for k3

I bet you wouldn't believe it...just pump my petrol last night...distance travelled from last full tank = 659km, petrol pump = 40.52L..that work out to be 16.26km per litre or 6.15L per 100km...with abt 80% highway driving. This is by far my best FC among the six full tank pump..average of 6 full tank pump works out to 14.13km per litre..
