Recently saw a dk blue ford laser ES plate, I think. Must b "82 car or something. Looked like in quite good shape. The body at least. Cud'nt tell about the mechanicals.

You'll b quite surprised that some cars hitting 30 years & still running fairly well. These cars prob never been whacked by their owners, I guess.

haha but for my ride now when ever i need to top up i need to put in an injection thingy...itz to convert un-leaded petrol to leaded so dunno across the causeway haf anot

Got a car rental co. at Ubi, that rents out those >10 yr old COE cars for S$40/day for Subaru Justy 1.0 and Suzuki Swift 1.0

But I heard from my friend who rented before that the condition of those cars quite rotten.

this afternoon drove to my grandmother's place at 2 den left the car all the way till 9+ just now...and when i start, the car is vibrating alot and when i tried to move off itz very jerky...heard from my mom she just service the engine yesterday

r u referring to low idling...if idling rpm too low, engine may die off.

if after adjust to slightly higher idling rpm, say 1000 rpm and still got same prob, better let a mech to take a look

eh last service i just called him to tune down if not last time's idling is at 1250...

even at tat it stills vibrate and no power...coz wanna save petrol tatz why call him tune down

mine idling is 1000 rpm...

by rite if 1250 idling rpm ...it shdnt be vibrating that much...anyway..when it vibrates vigorously, wat is the idling rpm at that point of time.

now my has been tune to 1000rpm, but when cold start it'll stay at 800 den slowly rise up...

like just now when i start the rpm falls below 800rpm i gotta keep flooring the acc for awhile den go to 800....but u can feel like the engine is not smooth..engage 1st gear the car will keep jerking when put to biting point..ask my dad how come like tat he say engine cold?

mine got slight prob as i need to step in morn to have faster start.. and then due to too much petrol, rpm shoots high...to compensate, i turn on a/c, in which the actuator will cut in to control rpm swee swee at 1000rpm

if u try let car warm up for 10 minutes, will the jerking be better?? by then shd lubricate the pistons and other parts...so shd be smoother.

I went 2 look Kia's roadshow 2day Suntec. The picanto's monthly repayment is quite decent esp 4 the off-peak car. IMO, if u wanna rent car on both days during wkends, might as well go 4 the wkend picanto if u gt a little more xtra cash 2 spare to yearly insurance & maintenance

Yup..10yrs loan but stil quite a gd deal to haf a new car 200+ monthly. As time goes by, if nid the car during normal hrs then top up the difference. The major prob wuld b the cold hard cash needed 2 fork out for the top up.

Oic. Then dun buy car la. Tk our world class public transport 1st or tk taxi wuld b a better alternative.

What I meant was to restore if u intend to Renew coe & keep it.

vios is one of the best buy...toyota, hit 0-100km under 10 sec, quite nice design, gd FC...only drawback is its backspace a bit cramp

Instead of the thai made cars, consider a optra 5. Made in korea. A much better car IMHO.

Chevrolet is very solid & quiet. I might consider one when i decide to change. That's my choice for the moment.

Be careful about those "leather" seats. My fren bought one from a dealer & he later found out the seats r PVC.

They looked & felt just like leather till his fren got experience told him it's PVC. Damm hot in the sun. After some time, it will crack & peel. Just a word of caution to b extra careful when buying from dealers especially.
