My set is on magic cable + latest firmware .. Duno isit due to memory card writing speed or bad set .. I am using the Samsung class6 16gb that comes with the set

More like a bad memory card to me, do a full overwrite format with recommended Sd formatter 3.1 if u have not done so

Run chkdisk while you are at it too.

I got this problem while using the Samsung card. Now with the Sandisk or lexar no such problems

V660 Using No Interval Time File Saving Technology
Most of the car black box took few seconds to save the recorded file into the memory card & only start recording the next clip when saving of video completed. During these few seconds, anything could happen. V660 uses new technology where such there is no time interval between files.
Example:
1st clip recorded at 0 second to 10 seconds
2nd clip recorded at 9 seconds to 20 seconds
3rd clip recorded at 19 seconds to 30 seconds
Therefore, all the videos from 0 second to 30seconds are recorded without any gap in between.

I see that there's a LCD screen on V660. The LCD screen must be in the vertical position for the recorder to start recording ? Background is, I do not want the live images on the LCD screen distracting me.

So can I close the LCD screen while recording still can take place ?

V660 will auto power up & start recording once you start the engine,be the LCD screen flip open or close it doesnt effect the auto recording.

If you feel that the screen distracting you, you can just flip close the LCD screen. The unit will still continue recording.

Yes, I was looking at the size and convenience of installation and use. Though I'd love the DR400, like I said, the screen would be handy to ensure it's really working, DR400 only listen to sound, not too sure if it's on or not, as I haven't used it either.

No problem so far. But sometimes it is not recording for overnight. When I start car in the morning, no recording lights, nothing at all even when I bang the DR400. I crank the engine, it came to life and tells me "Blackvue for your safe driving, starting normal recording."

Which I suspect is the power magic cut off the power supply due to voltage drop. I think the power magic is very sensitive to voltage drop. Or the blackvue consumes lots of power, sucking all the juice from my 6mth old Amron battery.

Will be making an adapter to monitor its power consumption using one of my r/c devices which I used to monitor power consumption.

Will be making an adapter to monitor its power consumption using one of my r/c devices which I used to monitor power consumption.

I parked at a high human + vehicle traffic location so DR400 is practically recording every single min.

that sometimes i faced too which i am thinking to lower the threshold but afraid wait i cannot start engine in the morning hahahaha

Oh ya, forget to mention. My GSE580 hang on me yesterday morning. I collect my car and drove to my r/c flying field, it worked as normal.

When I want to drive home, it did not turn on. I plug in and out the cig plug also same. It wouldnt turn on, just the tiny red led indicating power is supplied to the unit. I manually press the on/off button also it wouldnt turn on.

So using a pen tip, I pushed the reset button once and then pushed the on/off button. It worked again. Turn it off, plug in the cig plug, it worked as per normal. Everything was normal, every function worked.

Dont know what went wrong, probably its tell me sunday off day.

my experience with motion detectors are that there are lags between the first motion and the actual recording starts.. That's where the most crucial evidence happens.. Ie bang your car liao, then record by the motion detector is useless Le..

That's why I keep my cam on 24/7, just in case la..

Sorry no offence to TS, the video quality as seen from their web is only vga... hard to make out the car plates, so its quite diffcult to recognise faces or car places in dim light conditions based on experiences..

Got mine yesterday. The DSX1080SX. So far so good. Day time recording is superb and night time is good. Noise cancellation is very good too.

The only thing not tested is the IR, full darkness recording, so do not know if it's really working well.
But I do not have the hobby of looking into glowing figures either in cars or on the road, so it's just a good to have feature.

It's worthwhile to get this model.

got 400 for front & 350 for back w pwr magic since ytd. initial recording ok; bv software installed on pc ok, except 350 one play on bv s/w all black screen but can play w gom player; no issues w settin up for both sets.

backside itchy go format 350 sd card, then dvr kept reportin "pls chk ur sd card" (actually referred to manual later was due to nvr upgrade firmware (NOTE: nvr insert BLANK sd card into bv dvr); now ok liao.

this evening 400 "hang", indicated by continuous purplish light, even after unplugged. waited for lights off b4 remove sd card to do format using sd formatter 3.1 (ALWAYS use pittasoft recommended sd card formatter) & firmware upgrade.

now everythin back to norm, fingers crossed.

overall stylish, value for money (due to GB good offer by bro Xavier) & well-build product, only let down by not so stable firmware. also 400 feels between warm & hot, 350 slight warm; both body r plastics.

Easy install and use
Turn the car ignition off and install the switched-off blackbox.

1. Clean the part that blackbox will be attached.
2. Take off the product's double-sided tape.
3. Adhere it at the back of room mirror or at the right side of driver's seat and adjust the direction of blackbox head to be horizontal.
4. Connect the DC 12V Cigar Jack and arrange the cable.
5. Start the car and turn on the blackbox's power switch.

* Once you turn on the power button, blackbox will work automatically.

Posted this in my sales thread long ago but not much response for it as its just a HD quality and price is almost of a DR400.
Running Led is nice but a thief magnet to some, & actual unit is much bigger than blackvue.

Experienced my first glitch. After a few days of recording, I reviewed the recording today and found that the year and time all messed up. It reverted back to 2010. Did a reformat and re-install and it looks ok for now.

dun think it is a glitch but rather bcos u reformat it and I think it will be set based on factory settings. You will have to go to your setup to re-customised your preference.

Noob question, but for you guys who have installed the DV400...how do you position the power cable from the camera to the cigarette socket? I leave my dangling, which is irritating, and several times, when I move my hand across the car, I have knocked the cable out of the camera.

How do I prevent this???

self installed? if u install it at a reputable vendor,they should run the cable up thru the roof lining,front pillar,thru the dash board,concealing all wires.

Route it over ur sunshade -> hide it in the door seal -> under the carpet -> cig plug.

No more dangling wires. Done in 5mins. Simple as ABC. Unless urs is a convertible.

Happens to me at least twice a week. No noticeable pattern that will lead me to identify a possible cause (so I basically don't bother, at least it still records).

Btw, I format my cards everyday.

I just purchased the 1080SX at a very reasonable price from Xavier. I have to say that the service and product is great. The camera takes clear videos in day and night conditions. Now all that's left is whether it will last under Singapore's scorching heat, Finally, I just pray that I never have to show off its quality videos :)

Got mine yesterday. The DSX1080SX. So far so good. Day time recording is superb and night time is good. Noise cancellation is very good too.

The only thing not tested is the IR, full darkness recording, so do not know if it's really working well.
But I do not have the hobby of looking into glowing figures either in cars or on the road, so it's just a good to have feature.

It's worthwhile to get this model.

Yep, self installed, guess I'll need to goto a workshop, I bought from SHochong and he recommended some shop in kaki bukit...but quite far for me, need to find time to do this...

No cable tie required lah. No need remove the whole door seal lah.

Just use one finger lift the edge of the lip and another finger to push the wire in. Easy lah. I used to drive an Axio, same type of door seal. Try it.

Using a 8GB Sandisk SDHC class 10, 2 minutes recording per file:
When using the SD card with free space still available, the recording
between files basically like no lag. However, once the card get full there
will be like 5 seconds lag between each file recorded meaning there isn't
any recording for 5 seconds gap. My guess is that the time lag is because
deleting of old file to make space for new file being written, is that normal?
Btw my car dvr was those old model and wonder newer model still have
this time lag issue.

Never notice such problem. Newer model shouldnt have such problems look for Blackvue DR400G or DOD-tec V660 or DSX1080SX.

oh,i thought he provides installation? so he is just a middleman getting the goods from korea n selling it? well u can DIY,but need some effort. u can also tap to ur car batt direct instead of using the cigarette socket.
