Honda Vezel part 79

Actually there are many type tonneau covers. Some original, some Taobao.

Depending on your intended usage, for eg whether you are going to put alot of things or slightly heavy stuff on top. There are hard ones, soft ones, retractable ones, foldable ones, hard one with lid etc.

Have not received my ride yet, but I will also consider the retractable one. If I don't feel like drilling, I probably go for the foldable ones.

Coz most of the time need to put stroller, therefore hard ones is out for me.

I was offered original Honda hard one.....but personally also prefer retractable ones due to strollers and luggages...

didnt know retractable need to drill holes....but even if it requires....what are the issues to consider? poor workmanship?

haven seen foldable ones before....can share examples?

and congrats on ur upcoming new ride :) [thumbsup]

Haven actually seen one. But accordingly to the installation manual on Taobao for the retractable one. Seems simple.

But i will still ask workshop to do it if i'm installing other stuffs as well, lol

foldable ones i think cannot put stuff onto. its just to cover the boots. similar to the cover in hrv.

retractable ones need to drill to install but i heard now have new ones that dont need to drill?

hi guys, have been driving my new vezel for about a week now..

have a few questions which I've not been able to find the answer to in the manuals (hrv doesn't have the function, vezel's jap translated manual is too rudimentary).

    1. when using the Idling stop system, the engine auto starts up after about 30secs even when I don't want it to.

no movement on brake pedal, didn't touch the steering wheel.

by right the engine will re-start only when the brake pedal is released right?

has anyone here encountered the same issue as I have?

    2. my vezel comes with the pioneer 1750 head unit.

it appears that there is no single power-off button.

have to press a few times to switch off the audio, then press the display-off button, in order to power-off the head unit completely.

am I doing it the wrong, long, way? the pioneer manual doesn't state anything about how to power-off.

thanks in advance for ur help!

for your first question, the car will auto start when the temperature reaches a certain point (not sure what).

Bro, the boot space can put 2 adult bicycle standing upright (without the front wheel) with the back seat folded down. For those kids size should not a problem.

Q1 i'm not sure coz have not got my ride yet.

Q2, I'm currently using Pioneer 5550 which i will swap with the 1750 in my new ride. I press & hold the button "SRC" for source. then it will off. Probably you try press & hold "mode"? or the main button thing?

thks for the reply.. tried press & hold for all the buttons to no avail!

Engine will restart if your Aircon is set below the cabin temp.

    ok, didn't know about this!

will go play around with the aircon temp a bit n see if things change!

    thks!

bro.. me no PI.. a newbie hv to start somewhere.. everyone here at one pont also started out as newbie, no? Hv only been started reading on tis informative forum when I was persuaded to consider buying new cad instead of pre own when I was going around to look for a replacement for my 10yo CRV due end Aug.

So started to read more on Vezel and to find out more on the numerous PI.. which PI recommended.. and so I registered here to share what i hv found out after 1 week of search thru a few..

Lol... too many PIs, Dealers and Businessman all around here.
Best part is most of them doesn't own a vezel at all and is probably driving some conti cars.

I drive a CRV.. so how? am I a dealer or a buyer just like the forumer here..?

Went to have a look on PI vezel X model, noticed PI vezel doesn't come with original Honda 7" head unit and was told it will replace by a pioneer DVD head unit instead. Anybody knowwhere canget a vezel with the original Honda 7" head unit as I personally feel that the replacement pioneer head unit really spoiled this beautiful car dashboard aesthetic look.

my colleague got his in Jun and we know the original head unit are all in Japanese.. unless u know some japs.. hence the replacement locally.. i asked my PI if possible to install an Alpine instead of Pioneer.. but was told it very X.. comes in $$thousand.. hv dine some research on that and settled for the hi end pioneer 8 series.. cos everything also have including able to read all kind of file format.. which I don't like to and is a hassle to go to shop to upgrade later after finding it below my expectation after receiving and driving the car..

Hi All, My vezel is coming end of this year, I need to do more homework because this is my first ride. Any recon for Rims and tyres? I would like to change to 17".Thanks! [:p]

imho.. don't go for recon.. u dunno what the rims hv been subjected to what kind of shock or hitting kerb/potholes/damage it might have incur from the previous owner usage.

I remember seeing an advert from Tire Queen offer.. u might wan to go and find out more..

My plan is to fit a set of 215/55/17" just like the S model.. but also toying wif d idea to fit 215/60/17" or 225/55/17 to maintain comfort.. though it will affect the speedo accuracy.. all shall be the good old Michelin tyres..

I would say no. My son's bmx cannot go into boot. Got to have rear seats down. However i would say the boot space is already quite good compared to others at this class. Its about 30cm shorter though than crv.

Just a generic qns on load and downpayment:

If my current car paper value is 25k, after scrapped, how will be the calculation be like taking for example Vezel at 110K

    1. Downpayment is min 40% = 44k. Do I use my 25K to offset the 44K which is 19K and rest is cash

    or

    2. 110k-25k = 85K and I have to pay DP = 34K?

I think number 1 is correct.

40% of Downpayment is based on selling price, not after the cash from your scrapped or selling used car.

btw I've got the manuals already.. the jap translatedone uses a lot of brain power to understand! haha.

anyway for discussion sake, the screenshot of the jap manual that u attached.. states the "conditions that may not idling"..

it could mean that under these conditions, the idling stop function may not activate.

but in my case, the idling stop function had already activated, engine had already cut off.

but thenit auto started after 30secs with no user input or movement.

can't be the temperature differencesuddenly changedright? (though there is a remote possibility)

Here is the soft type. No need to drill holes. Just install into the tonneau slot. You can remove and fold it up. Made of soft material so you cannot place anything on it.

    http://global.rakute...commend_item_en

Here is the foldable type. To install this, you will need to drill some holes into ur cabin in order to screw in the holders. The whole cover itself should be easily removable from the holders after install. This is harder and should be able to hold items that are not too heavy.

Vezel's drive is better. Hrv may appear quieter but its because of the eng being the lower spec sohc. Dohc is direct injection hence louder. Hrv felt lack of power (surprised that just lesser of 8bhp one can feel the difference). Hrv doors appear to be heavier though. But do note hrv does not come with dtrl, ctba and eng cut off. Fc is higher than vezel. For the price of hrv, i can get the hybrid version of vezel.

    Hi all,

Saw the Vezel on the road a few months back. Really like the car and went to do more research on it. Cut things short, I made my purchase in Jul and now waiting for the delivery of the car. Very anxious about it!

I am a first time owner of a car. Currently sourcing for insurance quotations. May I ask will there be any concern if my PI workshop is not part of the approved list of workshopsfrom my insurance company. Say I had an accident and had to go the insurance company's workshop to repair. How will this affect my existing 3 yr maintenance and warranty by my PI workshop?

If there are practical concerns on this, then maybe I would have to get a policy that allows me to visit any workshop (which would include my PI workshop).

Would you all recommend getting a insurance policy that allows usto go any workshop in Singaporeor just a list of approved workshops by the insurance company is sufficient?

    Thanks

Maybe Jap ppl think spare not required on their road, could be due to easily available recovery services etc.

Where Thai ppl might not have the luxury of recovery services available in some rural areas.

    lol

But the led is capable of running as DRL.

Garage can easily tweak it to run as DRL.

Probably your PI got their PI to do it.

Or your PI includes bodykit with DRL.

Seems there are two positions possible for DRL:

    (1) LED light just below headlight. I think those who claims to have "factory" DRL refer to this one;

    (2) Install after market LED light together with fog lamp cover plate. I also consider to install this but worried about the quality and lifetime of the LED light

    Yes. You got your COE.

Reserve price is the price that your PI bid (PI willing to pay up to this price), it is not your COE value.

COE is fixed at $57,498 for Cat A this round.

On average, LED should last at least till your COE expired, haha

"LEDs have a general life expectancy of 50 000 hrs. If you use your lights for 10 hours a day, this should be 13.7 yrs. "- See more at: http://www.electroni...h.iYCSAWl2.dpuf

Maybe for good quality LEDs under lab testing environment.

In Japan due to regulation, it is illegal to TURN on DRL with or without rear fog light in default mode.

Thats why Vezel DRL operation is different from other countries.

I think they are trying to do some changes.

see chart. below. C & D type are approved for JDM cars

    link: http://www.unece.org...-69-24rev1e.ppt

In fact the one you mentioned is a DRL.

You can turn on just the DRL light during the day.

The moment you switched off the engine and leave the selector as it is, you will get a buzzer.

DRL light still ON. The moment you get out and close the door and armed it the light will go OFF.

    or

You can use the AUTO lamp selection.

The DRL light and the Projector lamp will lit up accordingly from the light sensor.

Depending on the surrounding brightness, It can auto on just the DRL only or DRL + Headlamp.

Vezel hybrid may not save you much fc but i may be wrong...i did consider before last year but purely for the extra bhp, tranny and better soundproofing. With the price of the hybrid now, i would get a hybrid.

Thanks Bro trajet2b! Above clears my doubt. To me, DRL means auto turn-on once engine is ON, but for Vezel I have to use the knob so I don't consider it as DRL.

JDM. Sure got gimmick n other hidden costs. Later they'll tell u must top up $xk to register company under ur name, admin fees etc. Or ask u to gv up ur parf to get such low installments. Cheap doesn't means good in their case.

I placed my Vezel order in April but no news till Mid August which was the promised delivery date. As my car will be scrap in Aug, no choice but to cancel the deal and placed order with another PI#. Luckily this PI has ready stock and I got my COE this week and should be able to get my ride in Sept. This is the first time I ordered from a PI# and I do agreed that we should look for a reliable PI# and not just based on who can give the lowest quote. Will buy my agent a lunch if we can get it ready by early Sept.

Thank you for the confirmation. That was what I thought so too. I am not in favour of getting the replacement glass as they need to tear off the black rubber seal along the glass to get it fitted. Then after to refit it back;a higher tendency of rain water seepage plus rattling sound at rear door when driving. So even if there do so for inspection and put back the original glass, the seal can never be as good as the time when it was first fitted in. [:|]

I see really more Honda Vezel on the road.

What about comparing to Nissan Qashqai, Subaru XV, Renault Captur and the similar Honda HRV?

I understand that Vezel is the cheapest among the rest with similar built.

Say like for example, Qashqai with 1.2T. Isn't it more worth the bucks in the long run when you gain lower road tax, better power and come from AD? Just a thought.

Vezel is definitely better than the HR-V due to difference in interior quality (MiJ vs MiT) and it's slightly more powerful... smoother power delivery (DOHC) and also more technology.

Vs Qashqai, Vezel I would say is more practical because its load bays are more flexible (the flat-folding seats, tall item mode, etc.). Qashqai is also a good car though if this class is your ideal.

Subaru XV imo is way behind the curve compared to Vezel and Qashqai, but for its price it's OK.

Captur is the hip and different choice in this group... definitely worth a look if you want to stand out in this crowd of QQ and Vezel. But it has its French quirks and lacks some practicality in places...

Immediate delivery or within 2 weeks.

    Any good recommendations?

    Thank you.

Might be able to find an unit if you look hard enough (for deals that fell through before delivery).

But unlikely in the exact specifications you want.

Anyway Hup Long has delivery within a month for a premium ($113.8k or $114.8k), I just signed last week for a 3 month delivery package. That's the only one I know that promise short period (relatively) delivery and can fulfill.

    Good luck.

    1) if back seat is folded down, mean rear passenger cannot be fitted?

    2) i mean those kids bicycle with 2 additional small wheels by the side left/right can be fit inside?

    1) yes. Rear passenger cannot be fitted.

    2) you may try putting 2 kids bicycle in the boot facing each other in staggered manner.

If still can't fit in then just stack it...
