I won't give too much credit to this as U realise the tweet wasn't event by cissie himself.

And indeed Rb really leave the dressing room then really show him to be a big man that think for the welfare of the team. However, we all know Rb also have big pride, I doubt that he will leave the room to let gerrard talk.

I don't know. What I know is even if Gerrard did give the team talk, I still feel he does not have the potential to be a good manager. But we will see if I am proven wrong.

mayb team talk he can give la...he is the captain anyway n players will respect him. but for him to b a manager, he needs more than that. tactics will come to mind...n many knows gerrard isnt one who is adept in that.

ON that Day at Istanbul I am ashamed that to admit that I watched the 1st half only and went to sleep knowing nothing can be done to win the game. The likes of Maldini, pirio and kaka playing to their fullest potential. Late Next morning my wife said your team won was the sweetest sound wishpered on my ear. unbelievabe thinking she must be nice to comfort me until saw CNA news flash that day.

I am ashamed that I didn't stay up to watch the games.

I was the opposite. I remember i missed the alarm, and when i finally woke up, it was after full time. I tried my luck anyway, hoping that the tv might show replay after the final whistle. When I switched on the tv (those days no full HD tv yet), can see the not-too-sharp screen showing match still going on, and when I (still in the blurry eye state) looked at the top left corner, thinking it maybe was 0-0 or 1-1 so extra time, I couldn't make out the exact numbers cos it showed some 'wide-looking' (not single vertical line in '1') numbers. It looked suspiciously like 3-3 but I didn't believe it. And I didn't switch on the volume too loud cos my daughter was only 1.5 yo then, and wife was expecting our son (he was born on National Day that year), so was trying hard to confirm whether it was indeed live telecast extra time 3-3, or could it possibly be showing an old match between the 2 teams as entertainment after the actual match...

Then slowly saw SG playing right back (or right wing-back), and us surviving late onslaught till penalty win...

Of course couldn't go back to sleep after that...

Neymar: Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho will become the best player in the Premier League

Neymar believes Philippe Coutinho will emerge as the brightest star in the Premier League.

The Barcelona superstarhas knownthe Liverpool strikersince they were kids playing together for the Brazil Under-17 team.

Coutinho, 22, displayed his breathtaking skills to clinch Liverpools passage past Bolton inWednesdays FA Cup replay victory.

And Neymar said: He can be the star player in England. This season I think everybody in England is seeing how talented he is - and I know he has a lot more to show.

Liverpool could make an audacious move for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, theDaily Starare today reporting, after the club confirmed their new mega deal with American sportswear firm New Balance.

The Reds kit has always been designed by giant label Warrior, but today they confirmed via theirofficial website that New Balance would be the branding for all their sports gear next season.

The report suggests that the new deal could earn the Reds a remarkable 300 million over the next six years, which has prompted Brendan Rodgers to have a look at Dortmunds highly-rated star, Reus.

I'll never walk alone again, vows Liverpool's Sakho Defender goes from outcast to central point of Reds revival under Rodgers
    DV1950182.jpg
Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho battles with Chelsea's Willian. Photo: GLYN KIRK/AFP/Getty Images

When Liverpool kicked off the last Merseyside derby in September, Mamadou Sakho was heading away from Anfield.

The French defender had just been informed that he had been omitted from the squad, and rather than hang around in his club suit to watch from the directors' box, discontent got the better of him. He drove from the stadium, and there was a widespread feeling that there would be no way back, as he had made little impression in his first 12 months at the club.

Five months on - following a fine - and Sakho's return journey has taken him to the heart of Brendan Rodgers' back-line. He will be an integral member of Liverpool's revamped system against Everton at Goodison Park, part of a defence unrecognisable from the one so unsafe in the early part of the season.

Today's derby is a chance to exorcise a ghost and build on a reputation that is earning him cult status on the Kop and has prompted Rodgers to call him a "warrior".

He reminds me so much of Sol Campbell.

Gangly on the ball and looks a bit clumsy but really strong on the ball

    and in the air.

I feel we need to control midfield. I would take risk and push Can to defensive midfield role so Henderson can move up abit. As for Allen, just let him do his usual thing, get free kicks, get penalties, keep passing the ball(as long as don't pass to Everton players, short or wayward nevermind lol) harassing, pressing. As for who to take out for Sturridge, it will be Gerrard, so that Liverpool can play their normal game.

tomrw's game against spurs is a must win if pool are to catch up to 4th or 5th place. spurs is currently on hot form n it'll take a performance much much better than the everton game for pool to get a result.

liverpool need to get a grip on midfield if not Spurs will overrun us. Tottenham's homegrown Mason and Kane are on form so we need to win the midfield battle first against mason and cut off supply to Kane. Don't let Kane touch the ball is the best. Lucas may not be available and hope best man for the job don't put Gerrard in starting line up because of that.

since lucas is injured, i am pretty sure gerrard will play. kolo not back fm africa, so there's no one to replace emre at CB. so we will likely see gerrard n henderson pairing at middle of the field. mayb sturridge to start to lead the front 3. that could b the only change fm the last game.

oh...that i fully agree. waste our precious sleep for nothing. one of the worst derby in recent time. even the commentator said it is a 10-min game...cos it only came to live when the scuffle broke out.

Liverpool are lining up a deal to signstriker Immobile

at the end of the season.

I don't know who he is but he doesn't sound like he can run very fast

around the pitch like Sterling and Sturridge.

Spurs keeping a very tight leash on couti. Didnt allow him to dictate thE play. Ibe continues to impress n sturridge almost scored with a clever backheel. Overall a very even match, even the stats are very close.

1 thing spurs can exploit is going thru the middle, like how they did for their goal. Gerrard not doing anything to stop their attack.

Damn it. This game is destined for the draw. Poor perfomances in the midfield. Gerrard as usual doing nothing much. Henderson n couti both off color today. Couti esp had a few misplaced passes that led to spurs attack.

From this game i see Sterling2.0 in Ibe, that's good. Also without lucas n gerrard playing as dm, we conceded 2 goals. Luckily BR changed in time, sub Gerrard for Lovren n pushed Can up. Think should stick to this while lucas is out.

    Great important home win tonight.
Showed character and spirit to win, after being twice pegged back by Spurs.
Yet could have been further ahead by half time.
Sturridge's back heel, had it went in instead of hitting the post, would have been a candidate for goal of the season.
    Felt the absence of Lucas.
    Super Mario to the rescued.......

Watching the match now on iPad and I am glad that the best man for the job is not pussy in his decision making. He has to be ruthless because the team's result is at stake, his job is at stake and the happiness of the supporters is at stake. Of course it helps that gerrard is injured therefore he can make the call.

I feel spurs have a weakness in their fullbacks. Walker and rose are not really good defenders. Either that or the centre backs do not offer good protection. That's why liverpool exploited the flanks very well. Sturridge is not just a goal scorer, he can create chances and space for players like markovic, Coutinho and also sterling and fullbacks to penetrate deep from the midfield and flanks.

If the best man for the job wants to apply his theory, he has to be ruthless and not put certain players in the starting 11.

i hope so, and hope that it's not becos he's disillusioned with the team liao, and just waiting for next window to get out.

Hope he will come good and make pool potent in front of goals again, be it Plan A (Sturridge alone), Plan B (Sterling alone), or Plan C (Mario + Sturridge)...

    Read the part about gerrard.

    http://www.thisisanf...-win-tottenham/

The part about Henderson may be partly true but I think it's more of case of him not able to play his normal usually game because gerrard is playing and he needs to cover for him.

I mentioned before that players needs to play their normal game instead of worry and need to cover for someone. That is why earlier I also advocate putting Can in midfield when Lucas is injured. If lovren can find his form or toure can fill in adequately in defence then I don't want to waste Can there.

Yeah....can should b pushed up as DM. Hopefully rodgers tries lovren out in training. Having 3 CBs should b better for him as mayb he will play with more confidence knowing theres another 2 CBs by his side.

Henderson n Can in the middle should b quite solid.
