I guess the loss of Suarez & Sturridge too much to bear, both able to pull defenders away. Balo does not offer the same threat

Anyone still think we can reach top 4 ? [:p]

Ok who do we put our blame? The team or BR? I would put the blame on BR. U lost liu suraze, soul of the team last season and than go out to buy from Southampton. Hoping quantity can make up the lost of quality.

Losing can become a habbit if BR Don't not come up with a plan immediately. It will take us another 5 years to get back into cpl. We will be laughing stock this season. Look at United. Even without cpl they still willing to pay over the sky for world class player and us...?

it's widely agreed that skrtel blows hot and cold, and his form doesn't stretch for matches, but for seasons: one season good, one season bad...

now pool is taking after him. sigh...

last year around now we thrived on set pieces. now almost every match set pieces will end up in goal against us...

and that's not saying open play we're good. that's nothing much that's good about the team now, actually. sigh...

We take it on our chin and earnestly look forward toward the next match. We love the club even though there are rants directed toward the team and manager. We all hold our head high even this season high chance we won't be in top 4 base on current form. In fact I am going to wash my candy jersey and wear it this weekend, though kind of tight fitting. rodgers bought a lot of players, hoping to hv the squad depth to challenge on more fronts. but the players he bought doesnt address the problem caused by the departure of suarez. if guess this is down to the denial that pool was only good due to suarez.

but we must also remember that even if pool wanted to buy certain quality players, they may not want to join. sanchez for example. however, i will still blame rodgers n the transfer committee for not buying the right players. buying 3 players fm saints is just ridiculous.

there were many players linked to pool, yet the ones they got were, to me, of sub par quality.n most importantly, the position that requires the most attn, was left to the last minute. a striker who can replace suarez.

I think Pool's owners has that investment philosophy where they want young players; let BR turn them into great players, then sell for a big profit and next hunt for young players again.

So if you study the kind of purchase Pool does, they will normally go for young ones and hence all the Saint players and the young players that they bought. Or they will groom their own from their academy. This is a traditional approach that most football clubs took over the past decades.

Problem is, in today's very competitive landscape, I am not sure if coaches still has time to slowly groom young players to great players. The game has turn into a $$$ game with the sudden entry of all the world tycoons. They demand instant success with the $$$ that they have. Even Man U, who always believes in grooming young players are now also taking the $$$ approach.......there is really no time to wait for the young players to blossom; you just have to buy the best and keep the team right up there. Either that or you see the team slowly spiral downwards with very little chance of recovery.

Hopefully Pool owners and BR are fully convince how dire their situation is now and spend on the proven players in the Jan. window. No other way out, unless we want to spiral down. Money may not buy success, but without the spending, I think we are doom looking at the current squad.

If Balo is to play lone striker, then the mf must push ahead and make the runs SG and F. Lampard uses to make.

we need to set ourselves up as a pure counter attacking team to utilise the pace which is supposed to be avail.

trying to control game via possession will generate no results.

FSG has always like Arsenal model but they forgot.. when Arsenal started buying unknowns.... scouting in Africa and other ulu country is unheard of

Then Arsenal started buying young players to develop but this is partly due to restricted funds because of the new stadium

Now Arsenal buy 1 world class player + a few young players

FSG is still stuck at stage 2.... but they worked on big transfer fee with low salary..

with what Pool has achieved last season, they could have attracted quite a number of world class players

    Maybe is scouting problem....

that's the confusing thing abt the last window. before the sale of suarez, rodgers reportedly was given a 60m transfer kitty. with that amt, i was hoping for him to buy mayb 3 or 4 quality players sourced fm european teams. they will not cost a lot but still will help in the squad depth. n with the 75m fm suarez sale, they could hv at least bought a 30m striker n still hv 45m to keep.

BR did not promise instant success to FSG. What he did was to propose his master plan to transform Pool in next 3-5 years and beyond. What spoiled the plan was Suarez & Sturridge whom both scored bucketloads for fun. It's true we OVER ACHIEVED last season. I bet none of us here expected that. We would be over the sky with 4th TBH.

last seaon was freak, we must acknowledge that. Without Suarez, we will play differently + the addition of more players just lessens the MO QI.

so i say judge at the end of the season, though i still want unker out

Actually i am most disappointed in Coutinho so far. Last season his work rate, vision and through passes were amazing. This season it is not happening. Think most probably due to new players n less Suarez. But this season is important for him as he is just getting into the national team. BR had been selling him to the Brazilian coach, now he is starting to get in but BR can't get the best out of him now..... Hopefully when Sturridge is back he will be able to find him at the end of his passes.

Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal to sign MK Dons wonderkid Dele Alli after months of negotiations.

Ali, who has been dubbed the new Steven Gerrard, is one of the most exciting youngsters in the country and the Reds have been chasing him for the last two transfer windows.

But nowthe Daily Express saysan 8million deal has been agreed to sign the 18-year-old, with the transfer set to become official on January 1st.

Its expected that Ali will return to MK Dons on-loan for the remainder of the season, but Liverpool will be delighted to have got the powerful midfielder on board.

Liverpool are preparing to offer Napoli Lucas Leiva as part of the deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain in January, according toCaughtOffside.

Liverpool are said to be keen to add to their attacking options this January, and Higuain is thought to have made himself available for transfer in the coming window.

The forward is thought to be unhappy at the club, amidst speculation about his current manager being replaced soon, and with Napoli currently rumoured to be in financial difficulty, he is saidto have asked to leave the club.

The Reds are going to try and tempt the Serie A club with Lucas Leiva, and a reported 22 Million, with the Brazilian player said to be of interest to Rafa Benitez, who signed the 27 year-old for the Merseyside club.

    If it happens, good !

But they would still need to gel into the team, and this takes time... just like what Mario is doing now...

Really looking forward when we have a gel team as well as no injuries to our team :)

We fight as a team, fight to win or lose as a team. No individuals, only collectively as a team :)

    borini cannot play lone striker...

not big enuf, not fast enuf

playing with another fwd for borini works better, line up looks to be stuffing the CM area to prevent being over run...

    lets see

Even hearing alan curbishley talk on tv now, i sense that he also thinks gerrard is a liability. With key opponent players prsseing on him n take advantage when.he makes a mistake.

Im so surprised n sad at the same time that rodgers either cant see this prob or refuse to admit it.

I am a faithful Liverpool fan for the past 30 years and even then I have to admit that perhaps it is a good time to slowly phase SG out.No one player is bigger than the club and I truly acknowledge him as a true legend for his past contributions to the club.Time to move on!

hendo isnt very gd suddenly. He has always been gd since last season. Only due to him being told to stay behind with gerrard that has been hindering him. Last night he was allowed to roam further upfront thats why we all can see how gd he is. Lallana was also impressive throughout the game.
