was it lovren that went out to challenge? I dunno if skrtel would have challenged.
both out of position. hence the easy chance for cahill

skrtel does best when he has someone to man mark.

Gerrard just need to take two steps and Matic will be offside

JA transits the ball very quickly. Hence he managed to make a few chances.

JH always making the wrong choices when attacking. I mean you can't be the more forward MC and do this lah. He's always picking out the less dangerous option. The way he plays sometimes is autopilot mode.

Uncle everything 5-6/10. But should really just bench him and see what happens lah. Can also...

the first chelsea handball should not be a penalty as there is no way the player could have move his hand away.

But the second one is a stonewall penalty, i divided towards the ball, ball caught my hand is the same as i tackle a guy and i swiped the player down! come on ref!

But the second one is a stonewall penalty, i divided towards the ball, ball caught my hand is the same as i tackle a guy and i swiped the player down! come on ref!

But his arms are not raised.

He's actually very disciplined. Zero flailing arms even though he's headed towards the ground.

    These guys are well trained.

    Not Awardable

A handball should not be awarded if a player is ruled to have handled the ball accidentally. This refers to a player either attempting to protect himself from injury, for example by placing the hands in front of the face and then being hit by the ball, or a player being hit on the arm by the ball without moving towards the ball and without being able to move out of the way. An example might be a snap shot hitting the arm of a defender at point-blank range. However, if a players arm is in an unnatural position, for example outstretched or above their head, then a foul should be awarded whether accidental or not.

If the penalty is given, to me it's super soft.
Similarly if this happened to skrtel, I'm sure u guys will say its not a penalty.

We cant be depending on penalties all the time...

We need to be more organised in defense, move the ball faster up field and stay closer in attack...

So many times, one player is out wide facing chelsea full back and his team mates are either lagging behind or too far away...

BR clearly not the man. He lost his head by the success of last season. Basically all players still around except LS. How can it get so worst? We can't defend? Nonsense lah! Remember we started last season with 1-0 in 1st three game! It is later part when LS come in and suddenly he realize that attacking football is better. Hence everyone started moving upfield and we started to let in goals! This season he think same way. But forget there is only 1 LS. It is team formation that is giving us problem. Player to player, we can't be sitting in mid table and Southampton is up there. All I can said is maybe Ronald Koeman is better.

    problem is :

    1) No pace upfront. Static and predictable

    2) No pace and creativity in the middle. Always pass backwards for answers.

    3) The back not enough leadership and understanding.

    4) The goalie always fumble at crosses.

it should be the other way round.

    1. Mignolet is causing worry and panic to the defenders

    2. so defenders play deep + BR wants his full backs to chiong so our CBs exposed

    3. Thus creating a big lobang in the middle. With unker helming the middle - worse. His stature like posture has caused his comrades to sit and wait for the ball.

    4. Which causes Balo to be super isolated and disjointed.

After 10 games, clearly something is NOT right ?

    - Without SAS, still play same style and expect Balo/RL/Borini to carry on ?

    - why still persist in playing balo ? or playing Balo alone ?

    - Sterling needs a rest

For the first time, I have to agree with you... Which is quite sad :((
And if anyone notice, that is why I have change the MCF pic from BR to another idol of mine...
I am losing the faith in BR... But still, I am supporting Pool.. Just that it hurts a lot seeing the way that our beloved team is playing now...
Hanging in mid table is one matter, but lacking in attack, slow in movement and conceding goals like no tomorrow is totally another matter...

I really hope a miracle will come... Either BR suddenly wakes up, or players suddenly wake up, or SG suddenly quit or Defence suddenly get better or ......... BR suddenly quit and a new manager (maybe RB) comes in .....

I still think SG is the problem in midfield. He is gd at hollywood passes but Lucas does a better job in holding role. Lucas' resale value meant that he will be liquidated ahead of SG.

The goals started to flow at both ends when he tries to accommodate both LS and DS by fielding a 3-5-2. Then we started switching formations.... depending on opponent's formation.

To be far to BR, he did what KD did in KD's first half season. Using the players according to their strengths and modifying the formation using a small pool of players...

This year he suffers the same fate as KD's full season in charge. Spending money buying the players he wants but forcing a square peg into a round hole. Remember how Henderson was played on the right wing? Charlie Adam's slowness amplified when he had to cover in front of CB.
Last night, we were all hoping for BnB attack just like we waited for Downing to cross for Carroll back then. He did exactly what KD did with the current west ham duo, sub Balo out and put Borini in.

Perhaps we shld go 4-2-3-1 with 2 out of Can/Lucas/ Henderson/Allen holding... allowing Henderson/ Sterling/Coutinho/Lallana/SG to support attack.

BR seems to think as long as Liverpool's attack is good then the opposing team will just give in. And he forgot that when playing against the good teams you can't always have the opportunity to attack all the time. And usually good teams have strong defence and attack too. Unless, unless the players liverpool have are very good and can keep ball all the time which prevent opposing from getting the ball to attack, there is no way we can ignore defending and having a strong defence. Moreover when good teams attack they move the ball and attack very fast.

Seriously it's good to have good attacking fullbacks but when your defensive midfielder is not someone who is tactically disciplined, and able to see danger even before it is about to happen, it will never work.

Rafa is very right about gerrard. And BR thinks he can change and teach old dog something which he isn't and never will be. Naive to the max, as I always have said about BR.

Top half finish is not going to be good enough for Liverpool and BR. Both Dalglish and Rafa were sacked after they couldn't achieved top 4.

There were some calls for patience over at some liverpool forums in UK but unfortunately we don't have time and patience. And liverpool already gave time to BR and money to sign the player she wanted.

Wait for BR to come good and fulfil his potential as a manager? The more I look at it I think he is more suitable to be just a coach. We don't have time for up and coming managers. These managers should stick to mid level clubs, win something for them first. Then maybe top clubs will give them a look and chance.

Obviously doubts already formed in players' mind about the capability of BR. If by December the form and performance do not improve, more supporters will be calling for BR's head. I bet BR can't wait to have Sturridge back to relieve some pressure. But it's going to be a wishful thinking because liverpool's performance haven't been great at all from the first match against Southampton until now except for the spurs match. So how does BR going to answer that? Gerard houllier was sacked because Liverpool's performance was really boring even though he led Liverpool to 4th and qualified for champions league. Don't tell me we should be more lenient to BR? Even a trophy like the league cup also cannot save BR.

    Performance failed
    Results failed
    Top 4 failed
    Champions league failed
And lastly supporters turned against the manager

Nothing is guaranteed in football, especially when supporters start to turn against him. He let Liverpool down with his team selection against Real Madrid and in turn backfired against Chelsea when he did not achieve the right result. So what's the point? He absolutely doesn't care about the name and reputation of Liverpool in champions league and he should keep his mouth shut about looking forward to be involved in champions league.

But likely to be plain rumours

Last summer, this guy was in the transfer news but in the end no one snapped him up surprisingly despite all the rumours.

He's a powerhouse defensive midfielder and these days alot of teams are also after DMs eg Arsenal.

EPL already have a few from the smaller teams which can be considered and no need for them to get used to the EPL

unlike this William Carvalho. Like Wanyama(Saints), Song(West Ham) and Tiote(Newcastle).

That said WC is young and already a Portugal National team regular but likely expensive which I doubt if FSG willing to

    spend unfortunately!

Besides results, there are 2 areas which IMO, a manager should avoid alienating.

    1) Fans

    2) Dressing Room

Liverpool fans are tolerant and supportive but I sense the tide will turn if results don't improve and the UCL weaken team fiasco only worsen matters.

As for the dressing room, so far no news on any unhappiness which is good but I do wonder for how long??

we know all who left is not happy with BR and his treatment. we are not sure how many are keeping quiet because the CPT told them to.

Cpt and Vice captain are goody 2 shoes lah. Hahaha i think the 1st to show displeasure will be obviously Balotelli or Sakho.

    They more hotblooded.

Most of the other 1st team regular or regular subs don't seem to be the kp to media type.

N Liverpool needs exactly this sort of hot blood players to spur the team on, currently there's no ambition, no conviction at all, even the bottom three played with more hearts out than us ....

Sianz I think after to9 we'll be in bottom half ... And probably stay there for some time ...

captain isn't goody 2 shoes. he is getting first team soccer despite us knowing he should be.. he is happy.

but the rest know.. go against the captain. out you go. its pretty evident. so anyone unhappy with BR won dare to voice out.

I think no diff cos they both like to play the passing Barca way n neither of them have a particularly
successful track record but they both have the potential to become good Managers, see who get the first trophy and able to step up another gear but personally I feel about same.

Coincidentally they both were Swansea Managers before!

Captain toes the line. I mean "goody 2 shoes" in reference to that.

He never made noise against RB publicly when RB is in charge. Though we all know they didn't see eye to eye.

Frankly LFC is the last place to show player power.

Even RH's short reign, none of the players spoke out.

Whether internally they kp to the chairman or what not, no one knows lah. But they don't air dirty laundry in general.

you don't have to speak up if your influence is big enough to force out the manager by talking to the upper management

As the star player who've stayed over the years, well of course his influence over the club is considerable.

Carragher may have had a big say if he was still around. But still lesser than the blue eyed boy.

Look at Rio, RVP, Vidic, Scholes, Giggs attitude/body language when Moyes is around.

If u so submissive, everything listen to manager, no one will make u captain lah. Lol all the vocal ones are the captains mah.

Personally I don't think any player is that pissed off with BR yet but their patience could be tested if results don't turn around or they get blamed for the bad results eg defenders may feel it's not entirely their fault for the current predicament. So I can't see any forcing out for the foreseeable future and esp as the fans are also the best in the land so on that score BR should count his blessings and start producing!

Last season I was keeping my fingers crossed and didn't want to say much in case I jinxed the team because after all, what we want is success and long awaited league title for our club.

This season the signings were BR's. Now in his 3rd season, he should be consolidating. Qualifying for champions league every season should be the minimum target, at least until upgrading of the stadium is done.

Yes we are tolerant and supportive. But we are also knowledgeable, especially those who have seen the last title success. I am from the era where league title is the target, not top 4 finish and qualifying for champions league. Now, if BR also cannot do that, and we accept that he has to be given more time, then how much time? We can see the team is consistently not playing well. Time is not on our side. We will fall further behind and become just a mid table team if we are not careful.

I know who we are better off with. But I don't think the American owner dares to appoint him for fear he is too influential and have the supporters' backing. And this person is quite stubborn too. And I still believe he will be the one to bring the league title back to Liverpool.

Bro Raymond, see my previous posts on tickets which might be useful.
Also, by year end LFC S'pore Supporters Club tickets might be out for 2nd half
of the season so that could be a good bet. Either way, enjoy an experience
to behold esp the anthem before the game, confirm hair stand!
