Top 4 for me
another must win match..

who willing to sacrifice FA cup for top 4?
Top 4 the primary objective for me. FA cup is more for short term glory while top 4 Europe participation is for our long term rebuilding.
Ideal result for us...
Man u 2 nil up. I don't know what is the ideal result for this match.

ideal result will be pool to beat Swansea tmr....

Spurs sleeping, nvr wake up
Top 4 the primary objective for me. FA cup is more for short term glory while top 4 Europe participation is for our long term rebuilding.

agreed.. Top 4 more impt than silverware
Both top 2 teams either draw or lost... however, 3rd and 4thboth won...
So, for Pool, it isbetter to narrow the gap first by winning

Come On, Pool :)
I was hoping spurs will hold man u to draw. but the spurs team that turned up was the same team who we met earlier this season and also last season - totally hopeless and clueless...

how did a team that beat chelsea so convincingly 2 mth ago become like this?

it's no good cos it raises man u's morale ahead of the anfield match.

Just hope we can beat swansea first, then leapfrog man u after anfield
Mixed bag of results over the weekend.
On one hand, Spurs and Saints fall further behind us, while on the other hand, ManU and Arsenal registered wins.
Sill, have to win our game tonight to keep place with the teams currently in 3rd and 4th.....
Heck, if we continue our "form", can even dream of 2nd as City seems out of sorts
YNWA....!

Better yet, make it top 3...
Man u 2 nil up. I don't know what is the ideal result for this match.

Only caught the first half of that match but hate to say thatManurepretty much wrapped up the game within 35 minutes. Spurs was totally outplayed, outmatched and outgunned by the classy Devils who were reminiscent of their glory days under SAF.

draw please... we need some breathing space

Hope its make them over confident and complacent.

i just hope they only play that way at home, and dun dare to do so elsewhere...

They were playing the high press game, and spurs, as usual, dun know how to play react - just like how they let in 9 goals against us over 2 matches last season They simply can't cope with pressure.

They also depended a lot on their wing play (at least in the first half when i watched - i gave up at half time). Hope our wing backs can cope well

or better still, we peg them back by attacking and forcing them to defend, which they are not known to be good at/for...
draw please... we need some breathing space
Bros actually don't need to be concern with other team result. As long as your team and our win all our remaining matches we will be top 4. Of course you our match end in draw and share point the best.
Swansea high pressing game. Pool has no room to maneuver.

Pool players mostly below par so far.

Come on...

Swansea has more chances.
Edited by Latio2005A, 17 March 2015 - 04:31 AM.
Good riddance first halflucky to be 0-0.
Pool players all below par. Can't even string 3 passes together.

Kudos to Swansea's pressing game.
goodness,....all playing with bird-legs,
.......looks like all piak piak this morning..........no teamwork, losing challenges, cannot string passes, giving balls away soooooo easily,

holy tornedos......what is going on ?, let's hope different coming out of changing room.
Every time BR opens his mouth

we play badly.

Liverpool way is to let the football

do the talking and not the manager.

2nd half, slight improvement in performance.
Keep it up
Just hang it there12 mins to go.
1-0 to Pool

Come On, Pool !
Swansea looks a bit tired liaonot as fast pressing allowing Pool more room to move
Put gerrard in for wat. Hopefully ue cant work some magic. N seems loke sturridge not playing that well. Yet rodgers still keeping faith. Still no chance for balo.

Balo is out with a bug.

Sturridge totally off form today
5 min regular timecommon
Mignolet better be careful..tends to hold on the ball for more than 6 sec
Lallana out, Johnson in, 87 mins
2 mins regular time to go
4 Mins extra time
Pool controlling the ball now, 3 mins to go
Oh, Sturridge hit the post
ShoUld have killed off the game
Final whistle. Pool1 Swansea 0

Pool performance 5/10, but who cares, 3 points

Great team sometimes played badly but collected full points

Lucky win

They all count.

We are keeping pace with the top 4 :))
Yeah :))) Happy, every Pool fan :))
We aren't too far away from city hor.
Good game.... 1st half felt weird - thought the teams were playing in swapped colors. 2nd half slightly better performance though the goal was a lucky one.

Joe Allen played rather well. Gerard coming on helped push Henderson further up.....
Edited by Icu, 17 March 2015 - 06:01 AM.
A clean sheet as a bonus.
1st half was poor, 2nd half slightly better.
Credit to Swansea for their play to nullify our threats.
From now on till the end of the season, it's just sheer mental strength that would be required to carry the team across the finishing line.
It's just grinding out the results, style and finesse can take a back seat.
YNWA......
Two points off top 4
Three points in the bag
Four point advantage over Southampton and Spurs
Fifth on the table
Six straight away clean sheets... (only our 3rd in top flight in history)
heng arrh...

saw the highlights. swansea had so many good chances. think pool was 45 min late in turning up for the match. early on only kanna yellow, and all in got 3 yellows (against 0 for swansea). Mig actually was big contributor to the win, having made a few great saves...

lucky goal, and we get all 3 points, keeping pace with the pack for UCL spots...

Let us win the next 2 games, and we should be fairly firmly there.

the danger is we seem to be beaten at our own (recent) game, being pegged back by high-pressing opponents, cutting out our own attacks. And i saw first half of man u match, they did that quite well against spurs. i hope we'll have a solution to that this weekend. Hopefully we'll pay the devils back for the 3-0 trouncing at OT

Separately, we were playing well in Jan/Feb. Now Sturridge is back, which should be good. But he hasn't exactly fired in all cylinders since his comeback, and the fluid system of play that saw our revival seems to not be too well-oiled now. And SG is back - not sure whether he will give us that additional mental edge or take away the good performance we saw when he was out...

Ibe was beginning to shine, and got injured. Hope he gets back out quickly and continue where he left off, maybe giving us the extra something to get the results we want till season end.

Read that Can played badly last night. Hope it's a one-off, and he regains his calmness immediately, and continues his rise.

Finally, it's unsettling that contract talks for sterling and hendo are not concluded. Hope it's not gone case...

we still got pool, Chelsea and man u.... you know lar.. our record not that good against the top few teams....

congrats on the 1-0 win.... exciting sunday
most impressed with 6 consecutive clean sheets.. my prayers were answered!!

considering that just a few months ago, we had brad jones facing man u and mignolet was worse than a school boy keeper

and all our defenders seemed to be rooted to the ground for corner and free kicks
Bring on the red devils this Sunday and we shall SLAY the DEVILS at Anfield:))

Can was playing below his best, but who played well?

Coutinho was missing his dribbling (though he had a good shot saved), Sterling not darting enough, Sturridge was poor with his first touch. Joe allen did have a good tackle to sniff out a potential Swansea's one-on-one with Mignolet, otherwise, he was quiet. Hendo was a passenger. The rest of the players, wandering aimlessly.Kudos to the back line of Can, Skrtel and Sakho. They dug in well although they had to endure long period of pressure in the 1st half.

At least after 2nd half's intro of SG, Hendo was pushed farther upfield and things got better. Probably also because Swansea could not sustain the high tempo pressing game the full period, allowing Pool to claw back.

Mignolet had a couple of good saves though.

We will watching Manchester Derby just a day before the Kop welcomes Newcastle on 13 April!
Hopefully, the results will go our way and we might be higher up than we would expect ourselves to be.
Chelsea will be entertaining Man U on 18 Apr before visting the Gunners. We face the league leaders on 9 May at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal squares off with Man U at OT on 16 May. Man C will be getting points off The Saints and Spurs in the month of May. We might be rooting for Saints and Spurs then.
Hmmm
We aren't too far away from city hor.
are u rodgers in disguise???
collected quite a few yellow cards yesterday ,....we need to be careful not to lose our better players for the bigger games.

On Tuesday evening, was watching Fox Sport News and was showing Pool on loan striker Origi. He scored a hatrick for his club over the weekend...

He was fast, strong (when challenge) and deadly with both his feet.

Can't wait for him to be recalled next season...

the good thing: we are shutting out opposition, not so much need to score more

Key to pool playing well: devise a plan to free up PC. when he plays well, we play well.. when he is heavily marked, we struggle
Swansea and blackburn already show how to make pool struggle, LVG will have no doubts how to stop us playing fluently

Arsenal, LFC, Man U have all been getting a good run of results in 2015.
Saints/Spurs will falter somewhere along the way as they already have...
seems like all the pool fans very confident of a results against manure.

of course i would hope that manure falters.

but as a objective bystander, i would think its more likely than LVG will walk away victorious.

manure still seem to be able to get results even when playing badly. don't seem to be the case with pool.

player for player, i think manure stronger.

tactically, LVG is miles ahead of BR in terms of winning titles and experience at least.
