After the discounts. I think there may be different rates for different categories of drivers. I mentioned this so as to give some relativity in the numbers. Some drivers may pay more, some less.

I took a peak at qq thread and the bros there are putting stuff to squeeze more juice out of the 1.2t engine. When I bought my fxt, the qq1.2 was like 12k cheaper. After I did a test drive on the qq with my wife, the se and myself, I was quite convinced that the qq can't meet my needs. Fna was a much better choice compared to qq1.2. I really dun understand y so many ppl go buy vezel and qq over forester. Sat in my colleague's vezel the day and I open the back door and found that the opening was quite small. End up almost hitting my head when I got in. Wasn't a very pleasant ride, as I could hear the engine struggling trying to carry 4 of us with me at the back. Ride comfort and noise insulation also typical Honda, 'sporty' feeling. But I figured that most ppl placed high priority on exterior design and resale value. Subaru cars dun have good resale value in our local market unfortunately. Both NA and turbo foresters are fine... Better than compare compare them get Vezel instead.. Which on overall pricing and FC point of view still ok... But who is go Qhasqhai 1.2turbo will be damn funny

I am happy that at least the Forester is not another 'Altis' or 'Vezel' on the road.
It's getting there

I agree... Vezel in particular is claustrophobic for me... small legroom/boot space and lack of power when loaded.
But then QQ or Vezel cannot be compared with Foresters. A more suitable comparison will be XV, ASX..etc
Ha..i was stunned..Subaru really that bad?? No resale value and no one in Singapore buy Subaru???

You are right. We want to buy cheap and want higher resale value. If Subaru command same premium as Toyota, I doubt you can get it at such price level. Think hard about it. At times, it is not the brand but the styling of the new model and how popular it can attract potential new customer to switch.Personally i buy car to drive... not to resell. If want to resell, there are other things better to buy (aka watches, wine..etc) lol...

Drive 10 years and scrap it. Why care for resale value?

Subaru boxer engine has higher maintenance cost compare to in-line engine.
I think this the main reason why most people avoid Subaru.

If you can afford a 100k car, surely, you have more confidence in your judgement than that.

You only need to look at the resale/scrap market now to realize that paying a premium/compromising of specification for the sake of the Toyota/Honda badge only reaps you mere hundreds of dollars' difference in body value years down the road.

Maybe no resale value or have resale value but don't really care Bec resale value is subjective. Assuming 5 years later the Coe remains the same, for the Subaru bought at 125k new, resale maybe 50k. A Honda Vezel at 115k when new, resale value on 5th year maybe 50k also.
I would rather be driving the Forester than the Vezel.. 2 different car, 2 different driving characteristics..Think 10-15k savings over 5 years is not worth the shiokness of driving a mean turbo charge boxer AWD...
Fxt uses high-torque version, similar setup to wrx version. But the whine is obvious as the whole cabin is made more refined haha...got this feeling that fna version is way audibleWhen I test drove the fna, I did notice that it made a little more noise when rev beyond 2k. I dun think this is the cvt whine u r referring to since fxt uses the same cvt gear box. Fxt engine sounds more refine though at all Rev range. I guess the engines have different characteristics that's y they sound different and probably not due to the cvt.
The fxt is great when handling heavier loads such as heavier passengers and stuff. Fna u got tot drive more like a regular family sedan. Overtaking on the fna need a bit more patient especially u r carrying full load of passengers and stuff. U will feel the weight more compared to fxt. Fxt is just simply effortless. :)
not to say the fna is underpowered or slow, but realistically speaking say if u have 4 passengers each weighing 80kg on average and roughly 80kg of stuff in the boot. U r effectively adding 400kg of weight. Adding to the weight of fna, u r pulling close to 2 ton with 150hp and 200nm of torque. I feel it's quite a bit of a struggle. Of course if u seldom carry so much weight like me, then fna should be sufficient. :)

Got to get used to the slowness.... The more expensive BMW & Audi and Porsche SUV tailgate closes much faster.. Bopian.. Cheaper car the foresterCan check for the auto tailgate, is there any function or steps where it will autolock the car after it closed? I find the mechanism to be slow...
Harrier good leh... Safe car can't go much faster than 130kmh on NSHW...I will not have the same fun if I will to buy a Harrier instead of the XT.

So does is it have the autolock function? Better do a run-in for new cars. There is no harm. You won't know if the engine if it was not properly runned-in. The lack of power would not be evident unless you can compare this with a 'good' engine.

Drive the car around 2k - 3k rpm. Don't rev to hard. Gentle driving. Smooth gradual acceleration. Ensure the engine runs at the normal running temperature meaning avoid too many short journeys. Recommend to do this for at least 3000km. I had always run-in all my new cars even if the SE told me otherwise.
Hi all, once COE bidding is successful, how long did y'all have to wait before collecting the car?

Depends got stock or not... if existing then 1-2 weeks should be able to collect.

Just for clarification - do you mean the leather seats colour? (Not the car colour).
Thanks.
Press & hold the tailgate button at the back for about 1.5 secs, then it'll overwrite the auto-opening function & u can manually lift up the tailgate liao...if u can't wait for the slow opening movement of the tailgate during a rainy day lol...then the small little black rubber button at the right side, is for u to lock the whole car after u close the boot, & its also the button for pin code lock.

There is a way to manually open and close the tailgate. I dont know it off hand but its in the manual.

Thanks.
Stock colour refers to the car colour. If current stock don't havethe colour you wanted, then it is considered indent. Or you can wait for new shipment to come and see if they have extra cars that are notallocated to those who booked earlier and in your colour. If have and your hands are fast enough (to book), then you neednot top up for indent anymore.

For leather seats colour, I think stock is black. If you want another colour, you need to top up $500. From what I seen and felt, the $500 top up is worth it as the leather seems softer and more premium.
Jovier, can pm your SE contact pls thanksI got my FNA with first bid. Just confirmed my car on Sunday and got it with today's bidding.
I experienced this issue as well. I think it is due to the broadcast, may not be HU issue.i have also experienced auto rest of the sound settings, eg I increase bass and mids, then after a while when I check back, both settings are reset to original.Any advise on the sound/radio. I amhearing the sound from radio becomes muffled momentarily...is it the HU or antenna or amp prob?

From what I could find out (need to confirm) the stock NA wheel specs is 7Jx17 ET48. The stock XT is 7Jx18 ET48. So both the models have an offset of 48mm. Hope this helps.

fronts are direct bolt on for the either the WRX red 4 pots or the STI Brembo 4 pots (subject to whether your rims can clear or not), however for the 2015 foresters they changed the design for the rear knuckles so the rears are no longer plug and play.... some people say need to add adapter brackets, some people say even with adapter brackets need to do some grinding of the knuckles.....

Need to check, for those who signed for fna 8 bid ng during end May when COE was 49k and chose to top up 3k, did you manage to get your car?
Yup, I managed to get the COE after top up 3k. Was given Cat E on next bidding.
Good to see u are are content with topup. Still better deal than later buyer whom pay at much higher premium.Yup, I managed to get the COE after top up 3k. Was given Cat E on next bidding.
Not like some folk in hoping they can still secure their ride with even higher paper value gain by not topping up.Unless they believe coe will drop to 50k or below by 8th bid
Actually I think there's nothing wrong with topping up or not. Everyone's situations are different e.g some got car to trade in, some need car urgently, some prefer to collect car at a later date, some may want to top up at a later stage. Most important you know your situation well and strategize what is the best for you. End of the day, still a gamble, some win some lose. But I agree with you, just be content and enjoy the car and do not regret your move after that. I came to the forum not to compare but just to learn and share info. I'm sure you agree we can't totally trust what the SE told us and that is why need help with the experienced here :)Good to see u are are content with topup. Your wife may not adapt well to the Qashqai 1.2 turbo which has just half the horses under the Forester XT bonnet
Better that you get her a 2l NA SUV like the Qashqai 2.0 or Forester 2.0 NA
