Oh well, BR opened his mouth again ...

Brendan Rodgers says lifting the FA Cup this season would represent another step forward for his Liverpool team.

Is it really a step forward? What is our main priority?
Is it ok to win FA cup or League Cup but being placed at 6th, 7th position every year in the League?

Like that where got step forward? Haiz....
Score 5 and concede 4 still win the game. I know you actually meant the ability to change tactics to counter different style of play. When Chelsea park the bus, send in the tank. I am a gunner. We don't usually see AW on the touch line shouting instruction to the players.....more like his players played to what's on the training ground. Only very recent we see a change in style when the gunners play the big four. Sitting deep & counter with speed.
Sorry sorry. The above should be on the BPL 14/15-Let the Drama Begin thread. Didn't realize I stepped into the KOP. Paiseh Paiseh

Wait till his head burst, and then when he falls to the ground, then he will know how much Pool has loved him in the past

To be fair to him whenever he played since the saga he have always given 100% effort.
No players is bigger than the club if he deem us not gd enough for him, sell him and make sure we get gd value out of it.

And we have people telling us we should give BR more time. Yeah by then all start player left the club due to lack of champion league.

With 1-1/2 year left on his contract. He will go at a discounted price.

pundits have made it very clear - where will he flourish ?? Most BIG teams ave WC players in his position.

giving 100% effort doesnt always mean that the player is performing well. n lately his 100% is not gd enough. seriously, im sure all can see that he hasnt done anything significant of late which warrants his demand for more money.

yes, its abt winning trophies. but its also impt to b playing for one's own gd. no point going to a team which confirm can win trophy, but u r not playing any big part in the team winning. players like luke chadwick has won more epl medals than gerrard, but will he b satisfied as a player, being jus a squad player?
20yrs old and just play regularly for ~2 season talk about winning trophy?
I am not surprised if he do a Micheal Owen or Mcnanaman
i yearn for the hunger that they show in the 2nd half of last bpl season for the remaining matches. watching how our rivals fight to increase the scoreline, istd of sitting back to slow the game even with a healthy lead, just pains me...our squad depth still has some way to go even though it is rather decent.. just wish they play every game now with guts and fighting spirit...

Pool....aft working so hard to climb up the table, once agn showing their early season form. Not only based on last 2 games, but they way they played for loke the past 6 or 7 games havent been very gd.
N like last season, they cracked under pressure of trying to climb higher up. Inexperience perhaps...
I must say i envy manu at the moment. Both pool n manu started the season very badly. But they hv clearly gone fm strength to strength with lvg now adaptong very well. Even their much criticised players like mata, young n fellaini r finding their best forms for the team.

Agreed...
The only difference between them.. is the ability of the manager ... LVG vs BR ...
Of course, we all know who win .... haiz

yup. LVG was really clueless when he 1st started. he chose the wrong team, he used the wrong tactics...but as time went on, he quickly adapted n got it right. not sure if the team get used to him or he got used to the league. but either way, credit to them.

sad to say, our dear manager took quite a while to change his tactics even though he has had more years of experience in the league. but too bad...his experience as a manager is showing.

Go Bro Go :))))
Enjoy the match :))
Oh...n no balo also, reported to b still sick. Eother he is sick of rodgers or rodgers sick of him.
A clean sheet as a bonus.
Good to have gotten back our winning way, although Newcastle is on a wretched run of form.
Still maintain a slight glimmer of hope to get the coveted 4th spot.
Ibe is out of sorts. Couple of passes went straight to newcastle. N so far no runs that made him so exciting.
After BR opened his mouth, always the opposite will come true ... It has always been the case...
So, naturally Ibe didn't play that well lor
Anyway, a vital win to close the gap betw us and ManC to 4 points :)
But this will prolong BR's survival ...
I want Pool to continue to win, still l want a better manager to manage us too ....
Dilemma
Apart fm his goal, sterling didnt play like a player worth 100k per wk. Missed an absolute sitter N 2 or 3 very gd chances. Lucas n allen did quite well with allen the unlikely scorer.

Ya that sitter my mother also can score *shake head*

Liverpool have said they are aware of footage of striker Raheem Sterling apparently taking nitrous oxide, though manager Brendon Rodgers defended his player's character.
Pictures published on The Sun's website appear to show the England international passing out unconscious after taking the substance, described as a legal high.

A club spokesperson said: "We are aware of the story and intend to speak to the player. Any subsequent action will be taken internally."

Earlier, Liverpool declined to comment on a photograph that emerged Sterling appearing to smoke a shisha pipe.

A picture of Sterling with the pipe became public via social media platform Snapchat over the weekend. The photo was overlaid with a caption that read "1 down 3 to go," implying that there were more pipes to be smoked.

The Sunday Mirror claimed that Sterling had inhaled on the pipe during a night out with friends in Liverpool. However, it is not clear whether Sterling actually smoked the shisha -- a water-pipe in which fruit-scented tobacco is burned using coal -- or when the photo was taken.

Sterling has also made no public comment on the photograph.

Actually to be fair he go for the ball but Lucas is quicker.
To those who say how can Lucas be quicker when he slow. Lucas got fastest reaction time in Liverpool.

even though there's no malicious intend, but u shouldnt go into tackles that way. it's like u r trying to step on the ball. tackles r to either kick or sweep the ball away. going into tackle like the way sissoko did is already wrong.

imagine if lucas didnt get there 1st to kick the ball away, don u tink it's odd that sissoko will step on the ball? i don see y a player must tackle that way.

Don't over analysis my comment Lah. The red card is right.
I just saying at least it's not malice intend nia.
Don't over analysis my comment Lah. The red card is right.
It's a bad tackle but not malicious. It should be a straight red not a yellow in my view.
For a period of time in the match Pool play really well, the shielding and energy from lucus, Allen and Hendon is the key for me.
The Brazil wizard is a monster.

I always believe in the following.
When u have a secure defensive unit. Ur attacking unit can focus on more important task.

ask alexis sanchez or danny welbeck... lol
Seriously though it looks like Real Madrid, man city, Napoli and of course borussia Dortmund will be looking for a new manager. Maybe Liverpool will join in the fun. It's going to be merry go round for all.
Based on the shortlist Raymond has previously posted, I remember I put Rafa first choice followed by Simone, klopp, de boer to take over the manager job if our best man for the job goes to greener pasture like Real Madrid or man city so 2 out 4 are available end of the season, Simone just sign new contract so not available, and de boer can be tempted to come and "use our club as a stepping stone" just like the best man for the job, sterling, Michael Owen, mcmanaman, Suarez, Torres
Why I always go back to Rafa is because he cares for the club. Like houllier these are the people who will never use Liverpool as a stepping stone. You will never hear any Liverpool manager say they want to try manage some la liga club in the future. (I wonder who is the idiot Liverpool manager who did say that???)
So klopp, is it going to be man city, Real Madrid or you'll never walk alone again?
I am sure all of you have read the news that the Manager of a German club whose supporters also sing you'll never walk alone will be leaving at the end of the season. No, I am not going to talk about klopp and whether he is interested or coming to Liverpool. What I am going to talk about is our manager, the best man for the job, is now being link to the manager job at man city, England, Northern Ireland, Real Madrid, borussia Dortmund and Singapore!

Then I hope the musical chairs faster come ...
Just like we know how much potential a player has, same goes to potential of a manager...
An average manager can only attract average players, so if we can get a great manager, then we can attract better players :))

Nutmeg david luiz so easily

ask alexis sanchez or danny welbeck... lol

you are talking to the club who once had the original duracell/energeizer battery attacker, Dirk Kuyt.
Haha but he was better at defending then attacking

ask alexis sanchez or danny welbeck... lol
actually I am not talking about energy, just the mentality to focus better when attacking. Imagine while attacking and yet keep worry about been counter. Everything u do will be less perfect and less risky which might resulted in loss chance.

Mario Balotelli voted Liverpool's player of the season - by MU & Arsenal fan (source Daily Mail and Mirroronline)
anyone watch chelski vs manure?

thats what i want from liverpool. 30% possession, 1-0 victory. under Rodgers, we can never do that!

forget all fancy possession or whatever stats, 1-0 to Liverpool is good enough for 50 matches in a season excluding Europa!

We can only achieve this under RB, the opposite of BR ...
Come on Reds !
We can only achieve this under RB, the opposite of BR ...
So which one do we want??
One struggle to win matches without a good striker but good at drawing.
One struggle to win matches without a good striker but good at playing attractive looking game but loss matches.
Praise where it's due...
BR handled the PR reply for Ibe's and RS smoking nitrous oxide through shisha pipes well.

Lucas out according to soccernet.
again we have no strikers :(

3 on the bench though, lets see who is the most preferred.... if any

FA Cup, must get to final and beat Arse!
Sterling looking nore n more like walcott n lennon. All the speed n running wif no end product.
Their forward players r Getting away from Allen henderson and uncle too easily
and YES! we are behind! wat fantastic defence
and YES! we are behind! wat fantastic defence
It's not the defence, the problem is the midfield. If I am the manager, I always make sure my team control the midfield and win the midfield battle.
i did not say MF because i never see them ;p

Hai, whatever we say also like that.
Please do something to the midfield now before its too late!
And we have no midfielders on the bench, got 3 strikers for what?
Match is slipping away if nothing is being done. That's where I feel our manager is weak. He does not have the tactical ability to handle variable situations. No point qualify for Europe too because that's where tactics are important.
where is my tactical genius?

wow! Genius! Johnson!
unker got shot on target!
Villa more hunger ...
Where is MF, lallana, etc, ...
why not put in a striker? nothing to lose ...
balo has contributed to a few corner kicks...and he was not offside for the disallowed goal.
