A wise decision if your COE still valid for at least another 2 years & the current ride don't give u problem. The COE is on downward trend & dun know when it will hit bottom:-)I havnt ask abt the other 'std' discount.. So yea it might be price after discount.

Most likely they don't have stock already..
Was initially told that it was this week, then when I went to settle some documentation, they said its next week.
Thought no more supply, how come so fast can get car? What model and color?I've gotten my COE after my first bid. It was a NG COE agreement. Just want to check how long usually do they take to process to collect the car?

Yes there are existing stock when I made the booking.1-2 weeks normally. Which model did u order? Is there existing stock for the model u ordered?
Nope. That's not right. They would have to pay you the difference between the start of the loan and the date of delivery. Think you should write in to management. Don't think it's something SE have control but definitely the company.By the way, SE told me that my loan will start at the start of the month, but I'll be collecting my car a week later. Is this a norm?

Hi guys,

I booked my XT yesterday after 3 months of hunting for a car! After a test drive it was love at first sight, such a joy to drive. The XT was the last car that I test-drove and I signed after 1 day of sleeping on it.

I really liked the jasmine green color on the manual, disappointed that it wasn't available. In the end went for the safe choice of silver.

May I ask what freebies you guys negotiated for? I got the front camera.

Hi guys, me too joining the Subaru club soon, had just place the deposit at Toa Payoh showroom. I had booked FXT with bronze metallic, freebies is solar film and side mirror auto close addon. Hope to get the car soon.

Hi Guys,

I just booked my pearl white FXT today as well. Was told no tock and have to wait for April production. Delivery will be end June.

Did your SE told you car have ready stock or need to wait for shipment?
for the colour i chosed, the shipment will only arrived around June.
Isn't side mirror auto close add on something that comes with the car?
i was told by the SE that FXT don't come with auto closed when you off your engine, the current setup is you have to press the button to close/open the side mirror.

yes, no autofolding... have to press the button but it's a small small inconvenience la.. small matter.
Can add $150 to make it Auto folding. I have opted for this for my coming XV.

the SE never provide free? i thot that is the part of the freebies?
Can use duo rewards points to auto-fold at 1st servicing. Otherwise you won't know what to do with the points.
can't the duo point be use to offset the servicing charges?
Unless u frequently park in tight spaces, may not be a bad thing not to have it. The frequent folding of the mirrors may cause premature wear and tear of the motor and mirror partsCan add $150 to make it Auto folding. I have opted for this for my coming XV.

yes, no autofolding... have to press the button but it's a small small inconvenience la.. small matter.
I prefer to manually fold the mirror depending on the parking lot.
By auto fold, the motor will wear out faster for long term. I drive in and out a few times in a day.
can't the duo point be use to offset the servicing charges?
Can, but there's too many points which expire in 2 years. Also the higher the value of the service voucher, the more points it eats. If you didn't get as freebie, and want it, it's about the only worthwhile thing to get.
My father & I have been looking at the Forester XT as a possible replacement for our 06 Cefiro. Took a test drive and found the power and acceleration superb (of course), visibility good and refinement above expectations.
Some questions:
1) OMV $18697, CEVS Surcharge $5000, then it should mean ARF is $23k and PARF Rebate is about $11800 after 10 years?
2) AWD: does it mean when one tyre is punctured/replaced, need to replace all 4 or shave the new tyre to same diameter? We have been driving FWD cars all this while so that will need getting used to.
3) does it have Start-Stop? Cause it seems like the XV has it.
4) possible to get at least 10km/l in i-mode, about 50% city?
Tyres: huh? Even FWD u shud get same diameter, no?
My qn is with regards to having to have same % worn tyres on all 4 wheels and not same specs 225/45/R18 which is a given.

Coz I am always paranoid about is my car locked already or not.
My colleagues cars all have this feature and I think it is good to have for me.
Just look at the mirror when I am walking away from my car if I have doubt whether my car is locked or not..
You know, having 2 boys to look aftertheyalighted from the car and to make sure they are not "running into" anyupcoming carswill cause very big distraction and you often forgot to press the lock button or not realize if you already pressed the button or not!
What I meant was, say tyres 50% worn and you get a puncture on rear left. Replace with 100% on rear left, with the rest on 50%, will the AWD and centre differential run into issues since the actual diameter of the 100% is larger than the 50%?
My qn is with regards to having to have same % worn tyres on all 4 wheels and not same specs 225/45/R18 which is a given.

I kena once... Rear right tyre hit the sharp road curb and went to Stamford tyre, the guy told me that for AWD, at least must change both rear tyres in this case, cannot just change one. They will then put the new tyres to the front and the older pair to the rear. However, I dunno is this good for AWD. I drove abt 2 years after that without problem thou...
Check this out: http://www.tirerack....e.jsp?techid=18

Another option to changing all 4 tyres, is to just replace the spoilt one with a used one with similar spec and thread wear. Having said that, most tyres can be patched, unless gana puncture on side wall. Sometimes even those on side wall can be patched, but have to be patched from inside.
I asked, but unfortunately, my SE said cannot go further liao. Coz he gave me some cash discount instead. So LL...

how much cash discount your SE gave?
Some puncture are beyond repair. What i did on my previous AWD was just to patch the punctured tyre. Simple and cheap !
Same for AWD laH just replace both sides 2 tyres enuf. And yes correct to put newer tyres front cos even though AWD still front see more loadI kena once... Would like to ask does Subaru have OEM side step or scuff plate available for add on?

Thanks in advance for any kind advice
The folding servos are much more likely to die due to other reasons than actuating 90 degrees 10 times a day (stationary car) over long term. Normal vibration/shock from daily driving and the occasional bumps and hits are by far the main wear and tear contributor to the life of the servos.

Hmmm,.... actually,.. if you see those safety vids,.. its recommended that the new tyres go at the rear.
Reason being is that,... if anything happens, you are able to control the front,.. and if the rear is on older tyres,.. it may "swing"..
Maybe AWD is different.... not sure.
I think should be new pair of tyres at the front which is heavier and hence more brake bias at the front and more grip needed
For this reason, front tyres tend to wear out faster for most cars

there is a reason why our brakes have more pots at front than rear..... I've tried changing only 1 tyre when remaining is already done 10k+, no issue. different brand somemore... and my car doesn'teven have traction control/stability control...

If they can only deliver on 7th Apr then ask them not to register until 6 Apr. If your SE still say cannot, then ask to speak to sales manager and ask them to refund you cost of road tax + COE + insurance for the period of time after registration but before delivery. Nego from there....
Mine also registered on 30th Mar, but SE told me collection is 4th, 5th or 6th Apr.
Got my car last year 30th Sep. Got one key pouch but seldom use it cos I find it too bulky to keep inside my pocket.

Very pleasant and he'll ask roughly when you intend to buy then send SMSes on price updates periodically. i have friends in the car trade (ex-colleagues with him) & he came highly recommended..

Very pleasant and he'll ask roughly when you intend to buy then send SMSes on price updates periodically. i have friends in the car trade (ex-colleagues with him) & he came highly recommended..
I like that Chris is v knowledgable about cars in general and in particular, Subaru as he's a Legacy owner. He's experienced and not in the least pushy. MI not known for giving freebies. Solar film and first 3 servicing are standard items. Heard some managed to get front blackvue camera but this is rare. A price reduction of 2K to 3K off the list price is typical.
