Better for johnson to play it safe. he always commit a few error per games. Mignolet is really very low on confident and its affecting the whole team haiz [shakehead]

Mig cannot play with ball to feel.

Pool needs a keeper that can take back passes.

Leicester has a weakness at left back

called Paul Konchesky. Need to target left back.

Gerrard attacking midfield is better than holding

as he doesn't shield the back four well and is better

    at making attacking passes.

Lucas and Hendo as defensive mids is better

as Lucus is a very good at shielding the back 4

and Hendo is box to box and can support the attack

    with his tireless running.

    Better midfield triangle formation.

yup...took rodgers more than 15 games to realise this. But still needs to wake up on other issues with keeper, lone striker...

Ugly ugly win but I'll take wins in any manner.

Great result. Never knew that it would be mentioned against the bottom club.
All in all a very decent performance. A came from behind away win.
Talking point would be SG as an AM instead of a shield.
On the minus side; goalie still shaky, defence still not tight and the fluency is still not there.
Hopefully, theses wins can be contagious and let the players belief again.
And we embark on a good run of games..... Especially against Basel

Didn't watch the live match but I just watched the highlights and a good win indeed. Really hope the manager knows what is more important, win with pragmatic football or follow his theory football. Not every team can play tika or what death by football. Need the right players to do that. In short please don't be naive. Think his head must be always on the line then he will learn.

chey!...dont jinx lei. hehe. there's no corner or u-turn for pool to make. their journey is a circle...they go round and round n end up the same place...... [smallcry]

ball hit the post n then hit his back n went in. this kind very suay kind of goal. though unavoidable goal, it could hv been stopped if they had been tighter when the first ball came. leicester counter attacked n gaps appeared.

n to make my blood boil...it was johnson who lost the ball through his selfishness that led to the counter attack.

Good to see Sterling made that back pass.

In the past, he would probably try to go around the keeper himself and then losing the opportunity in the process.

Hopefully we turn the corner. as a good team last year and suddenly become poor must got reasons.

The biggest mistake by Rogers was introduce too many new players in such hurry.

Player not get used to new position and cannot pass well, last time our mid field player often pass to Suarez but Mario was too slow and misfit.

Ricky Lambert a normal player whose running into place create opportunity for others and where our team have been playing to strenght all the while.

We destroy team with speed and clinical finishes last year.

Rogers is still learning and had found a winning formula last time , I hope he can learn fast.

Weakest Link was our Goal keeper because he had lost all his confident so dare not come out to DEFUSE threat from corner.

Anyone is better than a no confident (self defeated) last man

I started the year they lost to gunner on goal difference on e last day of e campaign...

Haha... Since then never changed my choice.. So still counting on..

The manager will be changed by fsg if he doesn't pperform so I can only continue to support the club.

Didn't watch the match. Might try to see if got highlights on Mio TV Go or replay. The goals i saw online showed that at least we're attacking with some determination, unlike the constant pass-back that we kept seeing for the last 3+ mth.

SG finally scored again from open play. Who can remember the last time he did that for Pool?

Suddenly he becomes the best player in the team (again). It only goes to show that the rest of the team really not up to it lor How often can we find an old man (despite glory pasts) being best player in this day and time. Especially so if the team had spent hundreds of millions on players in the last 2 seasons

Seems like putting him in his natural position can help attack (he had a hand, or leg, in the last goal too), even if speed (think SG, and even slower, Lambert) is sacrificed.

If the rest of the team can step up and play to their full potential (assuming they are worth their price tags), then that will really be turning a corner.

Nice to know that, since I didn't watch the match myself. Had read soccernet report giving SG the highest rating in the team. So it's BS...

Then there is not much improvement from the last months. Maybe just luck improved...

Most of the teams above also won, and that means there's little or no meaningful climb up from the relegation zone. Will need to carve out more ugly wins to get points to be safe. i think Man U (who has improved markedly from 2 mth ago) and Arsenal are coming up soon right?

Yah lah looks like all media cannot be trusted (not restricted to local media reporting only PAP during election [:p] )

But one thing stood out from reading the reports, and that was after Leicester captain was sent off, the 10 men pressured us badly while we had one extra man. What the hell happened?? Where did that extra man go to? It must be SG walking, accompanied by Lambert = 2 men down instead?

While I like Lambert hearing how he loved pool all these years, as a supporter i think Lambert's contribution vs deficiency is not high/good enough. While SG has limited mobility, Lambert has less. I was speechless last few matches when he was easily beaten to almost every pass that wasn't to his feet...

Maybe I'm influenced by comparison to LS last season. LS defended and harassed defenders in their own half (and scored a few goals after stealing the balls away, noticeably against Jagieka), not to mention that he won prob more than half the number of non-to-leg passes made to him. Lambert simply pales in comparison.

But then, LS is history and we need to win points with what/who we have Wonder whether Borini will be able to offer any (positive) thing else...

leicester did very well aft going a man down. they didnt give up n pool was almost punished.

lambert is only good if the ball is to him. he is slow, so he cant chase aft a ball that is further away. but he is gd that almost all high balls direct to him, he can bring it down or knock it on to someone else. useful if they play the one big/one small like heskey n owen.

LS defended and harassed defenders in their own half (and scored a few goals after stealing the balls away, noticeably against Jagieka), not to mention that he won prob more than half the number of non-to-leg passes made to him. Lambert simply pales in comparison.

But then, LS is history and we need to win points with what/who we have Wonder whether Borini will be able to offer any (positive) thing else...

    ermmm he scored leh

i personally feel its more than 50% suarez, his movement and tenacity create a lot of space for sterling and sturridge. and how we miss his nutmeg and his capability to score goals out of nothing.

and his will to win is 2nd to none, never let his head down, when it fails, try again, again till it works

    cfm

What I mean is, it's not just him alone. Can be 60 or 80% but if not DS and Rs his 60~80 won't bring much goals... I am thinking of something like this

    LS -40%
    RS -20%
    DS -20%
Play well together incease another 20%

Liverpool are ready to secure the services of Stromsgodset's wonderkid

Martin Odegaard after the striker arrived for a tour of the club yesterday,

    according to the Daily Mail.

This is despite the ongoing interest for Manchester United, who were said

to have made an approach for the youngster recently.

The 15-year-old became the youngest player ever to feature in

an European Championships qualifier when he appeared for Norway

earlier this season, sparking interest from the continent's biggest teams.

And now Odegaard, a Liverpool fan, looks closer than ever to

a switch to Anfield after him and his father reportedly took the

chance to look around the stadium, training ground and city centre.

He is eligible to sign an professional contract from December 17th,

    when he turns 16-years-old.

I'll take the result as it continues the unbeaten run and not concede any goal. this will help build on the confidence of the players as well as the manager. The commentator commented that the manager has to forgo his philosophy, WHICH is the right thing because it doesnt make sense when it is not working at all. No proven record it work at all with the manager even though Spain and Barcelona have done it.

An interesting note... Lucas is trying to make through pass the Coutinho way... meaning... too risky with only 40% chance of succeed aka... giving ball away... even thought if it gone through, the effect is tremendous

Not agoodthing if this is order from BR. we need to make moreeffective anddirect pass rather then complicate but devastating pass.

we have been too static at the front and too predictable at the rear. good thing was we managed another clean sheet from the goal less draw. only lallana was trying very hard and received loud cheers from the kop...i seem to feel that henderson seems off-form in recent games or maybe he was played out of position; from right winger cutting in during the play. i find him more effective in the central circle. his leadership qualities does need to improve...Maybe they are thinking of the Basel game, which i hope they can win and earn more UCL money, so that we can continue to strengthen. from the way they play, i think europa will be just fine for me. just being practical and hope not to get "hantam" from bros and sis here. I feel the midfielders did ok accept for the final ball. N it doesnt help that sunderland were cramping their penalty box with so many players. The prob is that they were not attacking fast enuf.

Lucas cont to perform well. Made a lot of tackles n interceptions. Henderson seem to not know wat to do, whether to stay behind or move up. Lallana though tried hard, but seem like he doesnt connect well with coutinho...who as the number 10, was to ochestrate the attack. He will mostly link with sterling.

maybe BR is planning for next season.

maybe this season he want to piss the fans off as much as possible on certain player so that he can play his intended player?? for example.. continue to play SG until every pissed off and ask him to retire then he play lucas... then play Henderson on the wing until every pissed off then he place Henderson back in the center... and finally able to bench SG totally without facing any backlash??
