Don't think so much. Take one game at a time. End of season then we add up all the points.

Henderson trying his best to show what SG can do, so can he.

Gd, he can now go score 15 lge goals from CM every season!

basically beat Arse and Manure and match their results for the other matches we can qual for UCL

FA cup, SG will start i believe ;p

its actually similar to Thierry Henry. Wenger said he was actually impeding the progress of other players hence sold him off. With SG in the team, compromises have to be made. Fluidity lost.

It's really a close battle for the 2 UCL spots, I wouldn't blame it on BR if we fail to get it. But I expect to get it next season with just 2 or 3 more additions. Balance of the team is there now, and the impt point is they are all very young. Bodes well for next 4-5 years.

We need a dependable striker. Period. Cannot afford to have one that is injured half the time.

    hahah

it is funny that the fans need more rest to watch the game than the players who are actually running in the game!

i think i will collapse and fall sick if i watch 3 games in 6 days!

Haha, it is definitely tired for us because of the time zone difference.

Just finish watching the whole match online and Henderson and Allen is showing how good they are without having to cover for someone. Basically they just play their normal game and for Allen it is also the case of playing more often. Henderson especially is also able to offer more on the attacking side.

With lallana around other teams cannot just mark Coutinho or sterling because lallana can play a bit too with his skills, running off the ball and passing. Now all we need is Ibe and markovic to show how good they are and we'll be a team that is difficult to contain in the midfield attacking area. And we can rotate them when needed.

Obviously when we play a top team we can play Henderson, Allen and Lucas together to be more compact. Put Can there and I think we can really be tight and control the midfield. With weaker team maybe we can afford to just 2 out of 4 of them. And we definitely still need a very good striker coz sturridge's injury record cannot be trusted.

After the Balo penalty incident. hendo is surely shutting all those critic who said he is not captain material for liverpool. I gave him a thumb up for letting Balo take that penalty, putting the team above his ego and personal glory.

The way Mignolet (me no let in goal) also impress me. I tot he will surely be sold off but he has proven me wrong and bounce back like a monster.

The battle for top four could be settled by the time we meet Newcastle at home

Spurs travels to Old Trafford while Stamford Bridge awaits Southampton next week.

We host Man U next before facing the Gunners in their own den.

We will watching Manchester Derby just a day before the Kop welcomes Newcastle on 13 April!

If its not settled by then... Chelsea will be entertaining Man U on 18 Apr before visting the Gunners. We face the top contender on 9 May at Stamford Bridge while Arsenal squares off with Man U at OT on 16 May. Man C will be getting points off The Saints and Spurs in the month of May

Salah wanted more money so he went to Chelsea. William also another same case, Spurs offer more money and in came Chelsea last minute with even more money so he went to Chelsea too. Spurs used to target any player liverpool want and Chelsea also. One of the easiest way to prevent liverpool from becoming stronger. I remembered Liverpool under Dalglish used to do that too. For a few weeks man utd was targeting Glenn hysen but Liverpool came in and the rest is history. But from my own point of view why sign him when Liverpool already got Hansen and Gillespie? And nicol can cover at centre back. Moreover hysen is quite old Liao. So I came to the conclusion Dalglish was preventing man utd from getting stronger. Hope no one is saying I make things up again :p.

According to news report Henderson rejected 80k per week new contract. Seems like Liverpool's strict wage structure is holding the club back from signing some players and renewing contracts to current players. I wonder how much Coutinho is getting to renew without any problem. Maybe once Liverpool release Gerrard and sell fringe players like Aspas will help the situation.

    Drab 0 - 0 draw.
Loss of Skrtel might have created some uncertainty.
Blackburn caused problems with their battering ram centre forward, could have nick a goal to spring an upset.
Thot Lambert might have been another option since the game was cagey and tight.
Hope will do better in the replay 2 weeks later.

    Mixed feelings...

Skrtel really suay. When first bought years ago, he was quite solid early on. But that time got stiff competition as Carragher was still v good, so basically had to fight with Agger for place. Then betw Skrtel and Agger, both take turn to either injured (Agger) or lost form (Skrtel). In Skrtel's case, the loss of form was not only for a few matches, but was in the range of whole season no form type...

Last season till this season Nov, Skrtel was often culpable for goals conceded. For last season, at least he mitigated that by scoring many (for a defender) goals to offset his errors/own goals, but this season didn't score many.

But since switching to 3-4-3, he has been quite solid (in fact, excellent if you compare this to his defending in the 1.5 season prior). I am sure this is felt by everyone in the team too, esp. the midfield, defense, and Mig. It instills confidence, and this is positive feedback (reverse of vicious cycle), and midfield plays better by attacking more, as they have peace of mind, so defense faces less instances of opponents threatening. So it was great to see our defense grew better and i no longer have the feeling of every time someone (anyone from any team, yes read the words again) comes at our defense, we'll likely concede. This one really can help lengthen my life, if i want to continue supporting the team :D

Then last night i think Skrtel, or most of the team, haven't even started perspiring, i think, and he kanna knocked out cold. I knew jialat already the way he laid so still on the ground, and eyes were blank...

That straightaway meant all the feel-good factor vanished completely. And then i looked at Sturridge, Johnson, Lallana, and the 2 warming up (Toure and Sakho) - all of whom gave injury problem or scares recently, and suddenly I was [:(][:(][:(]

So i feared the worst, as more adventurous opponents might strike the metal when it's hot. Imagine the most menacing-looking and best header in the team kanna knocked out. If you were the other defenders, would you not be apprehensive if the same type challenges come again (and again)? Even if they are not kiasi, surely they must be thinking of whether can the team afford more injuries, so early some more...

In a way, it was lucky Blackburn was not that adventurous. And surprisingly we had the upper hand and pressured most of the time after that, so my fear was kind of unfounded. But that then added to the subsequent disappointment of not scoring - since we looked like we could (rather than looked like we would have lost confidence so collapsed)...

Let's hope we have better luck at Ewood Park...

I think when there is a contract renewal, someone(most probably the player's agent) will leak stories to the press to say so and so club are interested to have an upper hand in negotiation. Sterling's case also the same. I look at players like Carragher or Scholes and I never hear any rumour about them leaving the club, whether it is during contract renewal or while at the club. The most is Carragher said he will just retire if he wasnt given a new contract, which is most probably true from him.

Other clubs are more willing to pay a little bit more than Liverpool. Sometimes this may translate to making the player feels the club wants you more. Maybe from Liverpool's point of view, if the player wants to come to Liverpool, he will want to come regardless who are the competitors and what they offer to the player.

Even the best man for the job looked worried. We dont know how long Skrtel might be out but if he is not available, we will see if the best man for the job is able shuffle the back without affecting the confidence they recently acquired. Lorven is not really giving me confidence with his display and for that if it was me I will have to put Can, Toure and Sakho as the back 3 if it is the same formation.

I feel the importance of Moreno cannot be underestimated. He gives us better width on the left and has better understanding with Coutinho. I thought he should be sub in in the 2nd half replacing lallana who did not have a good game and push sterling a little bit forward than wasting his effort doing tackling and tracking back.

I also have mixed feelings for Moreno (maybe for the whole team, ha ha). He announced his arrival in some style at White Hart Lane. But since then, he had been exposed a few times, and made some errors resulting in goals...

Since we changed to 3-4-3, he has played ok, only. Like what a number of reports said, he seems to be capable of doing so much more (think of Ashley Cole type), but so frustratingly he hasn't been doing much. I feel his skills (being Spanish) is better than Cole, and they are the same height. If his speed and reading of the game is better, surely he can be at least on par with Cole during his (Cole's) peak.

Either BR has specifically asked Moreno not to be the Cafu type, or Moreno is too tentative, so we can't exploit the left flank as much.

Talking of Sterling, I only recall being playing right wingback early last season, before almost being loaned out. He actually was well marked last night, just like Couti once they got the ball, so Sterling had a quiet night, attacking. But he actually did a great job covering the defense, and I think if he didn't do that part of the job well, we could very likely have conceded on at least 2 occasions kudos to him for that, although almost conceded a penalty with his hand touching the ball once...

Like Ashley cole, Moreno used to be a striker so that's why his defending is a bit suspect. But if cole can do it in both attacking and defending, I don't see why Moreno can't, like what you said in him being a Spanish.

Same here. I thought his tackling was quite good! Especially for an attacking player like him. Seriously, all along the way we play and the way modern football is, with sturridge as main striker, he is someone who can run the flanks rather than the typical centre forward. Once he drag the central defenders with him to the flanks, players like sterling can attack from deep in the middle. It can be quite unstoppable given the pace and skills sterling have to penetrate in this way.

The german way is the other way, flanks players coming in to the box to score whenever possible. So sterling can also do that. Whatever it is I consider a waste having sterling as wing back.

Ya i read about it too. Quite frustrated. Don't know is it the player greedy or the club stingy. Although at $80k/wk probably the club stingy. Nowadays smelly smelly $100k/wk. But when i read that he rejected i wonder if it is cos of news that barca wants to sign him next Jan (after their ban lifted). So he holding out to go barca. In which case he is just plain stupid. Getting fedup whenever we develop a playerwe have problem keeping themjust like RS also. Other teams don't seem to have this problem. With the NB shirt dealand stadium expansion I would thinkwe should be able to do better. If like thatwe will always be one step forward two steps back.

Liverpool as a city has not the glamour and night life of large cities like London, Madrid, Barcelona and the likes of them, much happening cities so to say,

.......so once these players' popularity arrives at a certain level and receives attention, these buaya clubs from those large cities will undoubtedly show interest.

......and while I can understand why they may prefer to go to the bigger cities, still as LFC fan I don't have to like it since it says a lot on their loyalty.

What a sian result .... We are just piling our fixtures with additional match ... And this will stress our players with not much rest in weekday ...

Actually this is a bloody wakeup call for the manager and the team not to take things for granted. The way I read it,it's a win for Blackburn Rovers for adopting a park-bus strategy; just wait till April and we'ld probably blame the inferior Ewood Park pitch for any trip-up next.

Excluding the FA cup, there's only 10 games left to the end of season. It's high time to start treating every single match as finals...

He has started training with the squad. But I am not sure his fitness Is up to the level yet. The most I can I see is cowing in as a sub in a couple of matches. But given liverpool is involved in the run in for CL places and FA cup I don't think he will feature much.

London is to UK what New York City is to USA.

There's only one country in the world where the capital city/biggest city does not have the best/richest team. And that's juventus in italy.

Do they have a formula in deciding how much a player should be earning?

    eg

    1. importance in the team. First team player/squad player/youth player etc

    2. age

    3. Average number of games played

    4. Contract of other player. eg so and so player's wage cannot be higher than the other player as stated in contract thats why can only offer equal or less than.

    6. commercial value of the player

Some reports state that Arsenal doesnt offer long contract to players over 30 years old. And I think John Terry? or Gerrard? used to have this clause that they must be the highest salaried player in the squad. If someone getting higher, then their wages need to be adjusted.

Theo Walcott might be a newcomer to the international set-up but the Arsenal striker has revealed how as a young Liverpool fan he once met his Kop heroes - including current England team-mate Michael Owen - thanks to Chelsea, of all clubs.

The youngster - rated the most exciting prospect to emerge in English football since Wayne Rooney - has never hidden the fact that he's a massive Liverpool supporter and even when Chelsea laid out the red carpet for him as a youngster, he used the opportunity to meet his real idols.

"I was playing in a tournament for Swindon when Southampton and Chelsea showed an interest," recalls Walcott. "Chelsea invited me to be a ball-boy for a game against Liverpool and it was fantastic to meet my heroes Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.

"I was a Liverpool fan simply because my dad followed them. Unfortunately I wasn't born when the team had their golden era, but I enjoyed watching the likes of Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman when I was growing up.
When Liverpool won the Champions League last year, I went mad. I was shouting so loud I think I woke up the entire village where I live!"

in a way they did, they had a communist wage structure..... you star player or deadwood.... pay all almost same.... then realised deadwood high pay... very hard to sell....... only last 2 years they start to change wage structure...... it only coincide with the release of financial shackles due to Emirates

yeah.. just like saying Malacca is more exciting than KL... lol

Haha can also say Barcelona is more interesting than Madrid

or Sydney is more interesting than Canberra or HCM is more interesting than Hanoi.

Its just depends on what you like really.

But its true the night clubs are way better in London than in Liverpool

    as Alexis Sanchez can testify.

    :D

i'm not sure if culture is top on the list for the typical WAG...

Then London is way better for fashion shopping, night clubs, restaurants

    and nightlife.

Base on my memory yes. But Walcot father tell him to join asernal because they say asernal have better youth system.

Which technically is correct the. As asernal have more chance for youth to start.

I am just been sour grape.

this is what i can find on redandwhitekop forum... pool was not willing to pay and wanted Walcott to see out the contract so they can pay lesser..... a lot things can happen in 6 months.... so nothing wrong with Walcott choosing to move earlier

RAFA BENITEZ has explained why he wasn't prepared to join an auction for the services of Southampton wonderkid Theo Walcott.

The 16-year-old was today on the verge of joining Arsenal in a deal believed to be worth 12m.
Having tracked the youngster for a year, Benitez is disappointed the Gunners moved into pole position in the race for his signature.

The Spanish boss believed Walcott's original first choice was a transfer to Anfield, but it seems the youngster hasn't withstood the pressures put upon him to move for an extraordinary fee If Walcott didn't leave during this transfer window, Southampton wouldn't receive anything like the value they've agreed with Arsenal.

Benitez was hoping to swoop for Walcott in the summer for a compensation fee of around 3m.
Benitez says if Walcott truly dreamed of playing for Liverpool, as has been suggested, he could have made it happen if he and his family held their nerve.

"We know Walcott is a good player and his family say he's a Liverpudlian, but if he's decided to go to another club, we can't do anything about it," explained Benitez.

"If a player says he wants to go to a particular club, it must not be the agent who decides what that player should do. It always depends on the players.

"Walcott is a player I like, but the final decision about which club he joins is his.
"If the player decides to go somewhere else, maybe it's better for us."

Ah look like its a both hand clap issue. Anyway it doesn't make sense for agent if he go for free.

Football star Daniel Sturridge swaps his boots for an apron to cook his mum a special meal ahead of Mothers Day

You would think with the amount of money he is earning he would have taken his mum

out to a fancy restaurant instead of cooking her some cheap home cooked food.

    :D

    Not bad leh his cooking.

Liverpool FC defender Jon Flanagan is desperate to make up for lost time after finally putting his injury nightmare behind him.

The 22-year-old Academy graduate has missed the entire season after undergoing knee surgery but he is now back in full training and looking to reclaim his place in Brendan Rodgers side.

Im 100% now and it is exciting times, he said.

Im back in training with the lads and feeling great.

I cant rush it. Ive got to bide my time.

Im obviously not match fit so Ive just got to keep going and it will all come together nicely I think.

It has been frustrating. I had a problem with my knee and thought I would be back a lot quicker than I have been.

I wanted to kick on this year, but unfortunately with the injury I havent. My knee is fine now and hopefully I can just push on.

Flanagan, whose performances last season saw him handed his first England cap, has benefited from the advice of top sports psychiatrist Dr Steve Peters during his fight to regain fitness.

Ive been speaking to Steve Peters - he has been helping me with the mental side, he said.

Ive always been looking at my game since Ive been out. The manager has told me to do that and look at what I can improve.

Brendan has been great. When I see him every day, he is always telling me to keep going and keep fighting and Ill be back. He has been a massive help as well.

Watching the game and wanting to be involved is tough for any player. What has got me through it is trying to see the light and get back in the team.

Arsenal kept the pressure on Man C with a 3-0 win over the Hammers. Man C fell 0-1 to Burnley... Arsenal(57) is just one pt behind Man C(58) with same number of games played.

Tonight, Saints(49) travels to Stamford Bridge while Spurs(50) will attempt to derail Man U(53) at Old Trafford tomorrow early morning. We(51) travel to Swansea on Tuesday.
We have the easiest game amongst those fighting for top 4.
