Honda Vezel part 85

Ok la i drove fit before, not that noisy.
    Sunny is still quieter

Drove an old sunny before must say their insulation quite good. Sat in friend's jazz, pretty noisy. Not just engine (to hear the Vtec roar) but road noise also very prominent.

imho, no point asking around how's the noise level like.

Because end of day, it is subjective based on one's expectation.

For e.g, one may compare his/her current drive and vezel. And decide whether to live with it if noise acceptable (either same or better than previous drive). If not, can spend money to do insulation. but to note, some expert dunno from here or FB group shared that if one really wants to do sound insulation, if cost less than 1k, might as well don't do, coz it only improves very minimum. Ideally it would cost more than $2k easily from engine compartments, to doors, to wheel arch, to under carriage etc, I'm not expert though.

While waiting for my vezel, I did asked some vezel owners who were previous on airwave to see how they feel about the noise. Overall they mentioned that it is slightly better than airwave, which is my current drive.

But all these may also depends on roads surface as well as tyres and engine noise etc.

Just to mention a tip which is previously shared by some vezel owners.

Tyre pressure upon delivery is usually pump to very high during the shipment process to here. some share to release some pressure to 2.3 front, 2.1 back, will make your ride less bumpy and very slight noise reduction.

Many above-mentioned are just based on what i read, Can't even smell my vezel yet. lol

What is the total damage of these? Bought locally from the fitting workshop or BYO?

Chill guys, this is only a car forum for all to read, gain knowledge and enjoy.

I have been driving my Vezel for 10 months now and still feel shiok every time I start the car. True that sound insulation can be better but we cannot have everything, right? I have been slowly poisoning my car and these latest were fixed a couple of weeks ago. Because my driving is 70/30 highway/city, I am also getting around 16km/l (meter reading).

To all the new owners, congrats and get poison!

1 day. PI receive the letter or email from LTA, they can proceed to Vicom for inspection Liao
As for how long LTA send this letter or email out, usually it's about 2-3 days to a week.

Once cleared Vicom, registration is done their online and is 1 working day again.

ya but now the waiting time to get an appointment with LTA to inspect a PI vehicle is nearly 4 weeks!!

The inspection is only a few hours though.

5 years from mfg is you do your own claim from Honda factory or 3rd party ws? Please read out the T&C from the ws. A lot of 5 years warranty claim is capped $10,000. Even you go small claim or engage lawyer also LL

JDM model do not have warranty from factory once out from Japan unless is a recall. All warranty is taken up by 3rd party. Is important to know who is taking up your PI warranty and the terms behind it

All vezel practically zero scrap value after minus cevs. Buy Citroen, Peugeot, skoda, ford also hard to sell on second hand market. So no diff here. Driven a hybrid for 8 years no problem at all that's why I went for vezel hybrid. The drive is really awesome. So ultimately your choice. Dealers will say things that skew you towards them. Just pure business sense.

HRV engine has been around for some time, also used in the Jazz 1.5

That info seems to be incorrect. That is, if you're referring to the local HRV.

The local HRV's engine is the 1.5L SOHC one that is only up to 118bhp.

Vezel's engine and the local Jazz 1.5 engine is the 1.5L DOHC one that has up to 129Bhp.

Do take note. That means the HRV's engine is of a lower spec than the Jazz 1.5 even.

This has been raised quite some time ago.

Hmm..i was driving the lancer GT previously and the soundproofing seems to be ok. I did heard that the rear compartment of lancer was noisy though i did not experienced that with the GT. I would say it may be comparable. A lot of the noise of vezel comss from the road and through the windows. The windows seem rather thin. The smoothest toad by far would be the new kpe extension and i would say you can still hear plenty of noise through the windows of vezel. It is quite a bare ride once you see it stripped during the soundproofing process.

Vezels 128bhp is sufficient to take up about 30kg of deadening materials easily. Our sluggishness i feel is becos of the cvt..

Agreed, Edwin is good...most of the Vezel SP was done by him...

I can also feel Vezel sluggishness at time...but that might not be due to the weight from S-proofing...

Likely is the car itself is a little under-power.

Thanks! I guess is combine of the engine + electric motor power to get 150bhp.

Any bro or sis here the ride's warranty is covered by Hitachi?

I'm due for 1000km servicing. Called Ubi branch up and was attended by Ms. Siti.

She told me they don't take in walk in. Servicing must be done thru booking. But this wasn't mentioned in any of their documentation sent to me. I never had any problems sending my car for servicing to any workshop before, be it AD or outside workshop. Yet Hitachi only takes in walk in. Am I suppose to know how many days in advance that I'll be clocking the mileage?

So I ask Ms. Siti what's the earliest possible date and she replied me on the 16 October. Feeling I'll be exceeding 1000km, therefore I asked her if she could check on the other outlet if they have a better timing. This is when Ms. Siti told me that 1st servicing is between 1000-5000km. I was lost. So what happen to 0km-999km? We don't do servicing? So I can choose when to do servicing from 1000-5000km any of the mileage that falls between these?!

While I was digesting these information, Ms. Siti asked me have I decided on when or which date to book. I asked her why is it so different from the usual 1000km, 5000km, and 10000km servicing?

Guess what was her reply? "Sir, I do not have the time to talk to you. Can you confirm if you want to book the slot for servicing?"

Wow! What a great attitude she has. I'm now feeling very vex as I have no intention to visit Hitachi but on the other hand, the car's warranty is still covered by them. If I don't go back to them they have every right to void my warranty. Sigh..........

the mileage of 1000, or 10k is just a rough indicator.. no need to be so strictly adhered to.. i myself exceed the mileage by over 1000, 2000 whenever i go for my routine 10k servicing. haha.. all these years add up end up skip 1 servicing. haha

It's not the mileage. It's the attitude of the staff. As I do understand that we can exceed the mileage but not to the extend that I have to wait for a few days. If they reply we are fully booked u till end of the month, does it mean we have no other alternately? AD workshop or most workshop will welcome you with open hands. Who cares if you have make any booking or not.

Why not try booking with Hitachi Jun Taiyo located Lok Yang (Tuas side) or the rest of the Quick Lane service center?

Hitachi warranty allows you to service at any of their listed WS.

    Hope this helps.

There are some PIs I saw that are selling lower than 111888. Of course lower also mean other things, including later delivery dates.

Bro I know how it feels when going for servicing at Hitachi Capital.

I did my servicing at Quick Lane (Ubi Branch) which is the one you are talking about and also booked it through a malay lady.

I not sure if her name was Siti but she was pretty nice and chatted on the phone a little.

Maybe Siti was having a bad day.

The service and attitude is pretty good there and I even sign the 4 times servicing packing with a malay guy on my first visit.

I even went through my car cam to ensure they used MotorCraft 5W30 EO and they also helped to deflate my tyre pressure to 220 for each wheel, which was recommended by the Sales Advisor.

Hitachi is a pretty reputable company and as other bro said, can try the Lok Yang branch for servicing.

I only want to go to Quick Lane (Ubi) as it is very near my residence and do take note they only do servicing there and major parts change has to be done at Lok Yang. :D
