Are we allowed to list the partnered workshops for each PI here? A factor that I'm considering when deciding on which PI to go for is the quality of the workshops I'll be sending my car to for servicing. I'm very interested in what the current Vezel owners think of their workshops, e.g. workmanship, price, attitude of the staff, etc. For example, I've seen a few mixed reviews of a workshop that has made me reconsider a certain PI.

I agreed with your view. My PI has his own workshop so somehow i feel it may be easier...

I see more and more VZL on the road now

The centre seat is uncomfortable. Just tried sitting there last weekend at the showroom. The headroom feels ok for taller passengers. Comfort wise would be better to seat just 2 passengers in the rear.

Its HR-V - , 215/60-16, nothing said on airbag, 5 inch lcd, no leather steering wheel, no paddles shift, fabric seats, 4 speaker system. �Curb 1198kg. �CO2 155grams, �No leather Gearknob.

HR-V (LX), 215/55 - 17, 2 airbags, 7 inch lcd, leather steer, paddle shift, black leather seats, 6 spk system, leather Gearknob.�Curb 1219kg

HR-V (LX) Premium - only diff i see from the LX in the 'check' area is that this has roof rails, leather/Chestnut color leather, Curb 1221kg.

I assume LX & premium has those LED, rah rah niceties.

FC ( i assume combined) : 6.5L / 100km �(15.38km / L). �So less 25%, I will take it as 11.5km / L under 70 city/30 highway. �

Honda City engine. �120ps/6600rpm, 145nm/4600rpm.

Interestingly for emmisions (coz its the same engine), HRV 155 grams, City 135 grams, Mobilio 187grams (if i saw a photoclip taken from ST correctly). �I believe it may due to the different ECU fuel mapping below 3k rpm to provide the necessary torque for the 3 diff vehicles, meant for its respective intended purposes...

I did note from auto catalog site when checking on the Jazz RS that the CVT ratios range from 2.5 - 0.4. � However, the final ratio is a big 5.


Different style from Nissan whereby : �(Sylphy)

1.6 - �range is 4.0 - 0.55, �final is a smaller 3.5.
1.8 - range is the same but final is smaller 3.25.

ECU settings for the CVT aside, i believe manufacturers ratio range is fixed respectively (in this case, Honda/Nissan). �But perhaps the diff lies in the way they 'set' the ratio of the final drive to suit different applications.

nope, its due to the weight and tires/rims. the CO2 emissions is based on testing of the vehicle and closely related to fuel consumption.

Hi fellow Vezel "shifus", this is my 2nd post to this forum with my first adding on to my collection list from HL. Looking at the price the vezel x is going on now, very the heart pain and should have bought later. Anyway my OC and I had been enjoying every minute of our white vezel x. Really a nice car and the more I look at it, the more I love it. Notwithstanding there are more vezel on the road but I am still getting the look from fellow drivers when I drive my white vezel out on the road.

Need some advice from bros here. Understand that x model already comes with the reel cable(apparently the most expensive part) installed for the audio control unit and I need to actually install is the audio control unit on my steering. Any bros can advice on where can I get this done at a reasonable rate and good service? Unfortunately, this wasn't thrown in when I ordered my vezel back in Nov 2014. Sigh....Appreciate all advice or can PM me if not convenient. Thanks much.

Taking into consideration the interest loans, upgrades, etc.. If the price of HRV and vezel is the same I guess it all boils down to the after sales service provided by AD and the PI's WS. I'm also on the fence and been talking to both KM and PI. I'm still waiting for the hrv to arrive in their showroom to see the actual differences.. Like it's Hu and how thier Hondalink app works..

If it's just "4 bid guaranteed" the PI will tell you what's his cap (clarify with him and have him write it down black and white if he doesn't) and if by the 4th bid all 4 rounds of COE premium are above that cap then you will be asked to top-up. If you choose not to top-up, what happens next will depend largely on what's your agreement with the PI (again, to be written down clearly in black and white). This part will differ between PIs and also dependent on how well you negotiate your sales agreement.

�

Another thing you want to make clear upfront is the rebate. If COE falls below your rebate value, the PI is supposed to refund you the difference, usually dollar-for-dollar.

4 bid guaranteed COE usually�means no top up.��

�

Have the delivery dateline included in your Sales Agreement.

�

If dont deliver by deadline, PI will have to give you full refund.

�

All these best to include in your sales agreement. If not the 4 bid can be non consecutive.

That's the trouble with PIs IMO, Guarantee means Guarantee no such thing as top-ups cos precisely it is "Guaranteed to secure a COE"

I don't think they have such a clause for Guarantee COE when you buy from AD. Either Guarantee with no top-ups, limits etc or non-guarantee where the amount to bid is up to the AD. No ambiguity nor disputes but thanks to you guys for creating awareness on this, thks!!

I answer the 2nd part first; yes, #2 is more expensive than #1.

And for the 1st part, it is not so straightforward;

�

If you really want to get your car asap without any hassle then probably yes, #2 is better in the sense that you pay a little more for the peace of mind.

�

If you are not in a hurry and would like to save some money if possible, then #1 might work better for you coz if COE drops, you get to buy the car at a lower cost. But if COE goes up, you are back to square one (I need to emphasize this again, write it down black and white in your sales agreement that you will get a full deposit refund should the COE exceeds the cap and you choose not to top up, there are PIs out there who will try to impose a penalty e.g. a % of your deposit, if this part is not clear� ).

�

Then there are also other options; the immediate COE, and the non-guaranteed COE.

�

Immediate COE - this one you pay even more than #2, and the PI will transfer to you one of their existing COE, usually Open Cat, and you get to drive away your new ride within weeks, if not days. This one usually you'll see for Cat B cars. Can be arranged for Cat As as well, but you'll be paying a lot more (the premium difference between the COEs).

That's the trouble with PIs IMO, Guarantee means Guarantee no such thing as top-ups cos precisely it is "Guaranteed to secure a COE"

I don't think they have such a clause for Guarantee COE when you buy from AD. Either Guarantee with no top-ups, limits etc or non-guarantee where the amount to bid is up to the AD. No ambiguity nor disputes but thanks to you guys for creating awareness on this, thks!!

That's my point actually. For AD, it's�Guaranteed (Tier 1 in your eg)�or Non-Guaranteed (Tier 2 & 3 in your eg).�No ifs and buts nor conditions.

Guaranteed means sure get. If you going to put a limit/top-up to the "Guaranteed COE" then it's not guaranteed anymore so it should not be named as such IMO. Call it a "Limit COE" or something like that. Not trying to run down PIs nor am I�saying ADs are the best�but this doesn't�look right to me but�I've learnt something here today thks to you guys which I never knew�existed!!�

Depends, is it "4 bid guaranteed COE" or "4 bid guaranteed COE without top-up"?

If it's "4 bid guaranteed without to-up" then yes, you'll get it regardless of COE price (assuming the PI honours his words).
�
If it's just "4 bid guaranteed" the PI will tell you what's his cap (clarify with him and have him write it down black and white if he doesn't) and if by the 4th bid all 4 rounds of COE premium are above that cap then you will be asked to top-up. If you choose not to top-up, what happens next will depend largely on what's your agreement with the PI (again, to be written down clearly in black and white). This part will differ between PIs and also dependent on how well you negotiate your sales agreement.
�
Another thing you want to make clear upfront is the rebate. If COE falls below your rebate value, the PI is supposed to refund you the difference, usually dollar-for-dollar.
�

if the aftersales service you are talking about is warranty, the warranty risk is transferred to big workshops with contractual agreements with your PI. i.e, the dealer pays the Workshop a warranty fee to cover your car. In this market now, 5yrs or 100000km (whichever 1st) warranty is standard. Those still offering 3yrs, need to start adjusting their offers to make it competitive.

if the aftersales service you are referring to is getting additional add-ons or upgrades, so far from all whom i have spoken to, unless company wide upgraded their standard accessories gift package and your car is far from delivery, then you might have a chance to request. Else, so far, once deposit paid, sales agreement signed, everything is fixed, anything wanna change, top up money. And good to note that so-called "standard" package offered by dealers when we meet them, is actually not standard at all, usually entry-level only, pls ask for more. A few fellow buyers here have shared so much for me to learn from their experience, they r extremely good negotiators, even scuff plates can nego to be free haha.

i have been sharing on a personal basis a "buying guide" which i compiled from my own research which of course is subjective and from my perspective.

�

However some of the bros here really have alredy gotten those santa clause deals. Have also shared to some bros/sis who have msged me personally,�

Most of the time is to entice you to meet face to face. The sales tactic is to quickly lock you in a deal financially on the spot, the more you are allowed to browse for options, likely wun buy from them.

�

I have bros who browse for damn long also, know all the good deals available but still duno why counter-intuitively choose the shortchanging deal. Heart pain as a friend. but anyway COE is climbing, and so far most have gotten guaranteed no top up deals, lets see how fast their PI bid for them..oh sorry, they are not PI, they are dealers...

Cut throat pricing should be coming soon. Big PIs stuck with existing stocks need to quickly move stock to dealers and customers to ease cash flow so as not to get stuck with old stock when new facelift arrives. Extremely bad situation to be in from a business point of view... just my feel so far.

It can be spotted from the COE pricing strategy. But because we're facing rising COE, have to entice with no top-up deals which is ideal for buyers, but pricing actually up a bit to buffer and accessories package cannot yield too much for customers. But if you press hard enough, i think letting go of the stock is more impt that saving the pennie.

Fully agree on this one. ALWAYS negotiate, be it PI or AD.

�

If you are not good at negotiation, bring someone with you who is. I always bring the "Finance Minister" aka "Minister of Internal Affairs" aka "Prime Minister" aka Wife whenever I need to nego for anything. Roughly know the base cost for the other party beforehand (onemotoring and sgcarmart are both good reference points in this case) and factor in a reasonable profit margin, that would be your "hand of cards". My favourite strategy is to go in and act "carrot", let the other party put his guard down and show me his "hand" first, then nego. Won't always get 100% what I want, but can usually reach a good win-win situation for both.

�

Key is; don't push don't force, and always respect one another. If at the end of the day really cannot reach an agreement acceptable for both parties, don't compromise, and don't TL the other party either, shake hands, smile and part ways, there'll always be another deal to make somewhere else, someday else. Who knows, you might even get a call back a couple days later from the other party with a pleasant surprise.�

�

The above is not just for negotiating with PIs, it's general negotiation ethics. On the other hand if you are just thinking of getting a Vezel and nothing else at the moment, you can just PM Rational for his list and you'll do just fine. Remember to thank him though, he's already gotten his Vezel Hybrid, and just doing all these to help others.�

�

Disclaimer - I am not a PI or AD, I am just an old uncle who has been diligently doing a lot of homework getting ready for my next car change (and having lots of fun doing it).�

I don't think it's going to be alot cheaper even if the new facelift is going to happen. It's essentially the same car with what I'd say is a 5-10% difference in looks. PIs will still have a few more months to sell and judging from how popular the Vezel is, I don't think there will be a backlog for them to clear. Coupled with possible price increases due to tax in Japan, and CEVS changes, I'm guessing the price will be quite stable, if not a slight increase for the next 2 months.

Yes, confirm it is "S" model. Been monitor few PI price, all quoted $111k-$119K for X model, so decide to go for it after reading 345 pages..

Kind of heard before whenever the car has 'Sports' to its name or version, there is a slight mark up in premium.

Actually i also agree with Privacy's and Smeagol's point of view. There is overwhelming demand for cars nationwide regardless. And Vezel is selling like hotcakes. Few thousand here and there is peanuts, big focus is actually COE that can move over 10k in 2 bids. Since COE is rising, if i am a dealer or PI, i would try to push my stocks out asap b4 the buying frenzy slows down or dies down. Now is the time. Different PIs and Dealers have different price strategy and business models. Some are genuinely selling cars for a living, Some just need to roll money for other means, Some also own their own workshops or are partners of workshops, sell cars slightly lower margins but earn on after sales servicings.

�

If i can wait 6mths or more as a new buyer now, shud take time to see how it is, strike now also can, find the best no top up deal i guess. Take advantage of rising COE.

�

Gross margins (assuming no under-declared OMV and no hefty VAT rebate for exported goods; which we all know is untrue), are about $12000 per X model unit and $9000 per S model unit for current models.

�

If PI or dealers who only give "elf" accessories gift package cost under say about $2000, but worth about $3500 if we buy ourselves, then their margins would be approx 10000 and 7000 per entry level car.

�

So a 3k discount based on 12000 and 9000 gross margin for Vezel as an entry level car, is actually 25% and 33.3% discount off their margins, quite hefty.

�

"Santa Clause" accessories gift package costs approx $6500, but worth easily $8000 and above if we buy ourselves as customer, usually such deals can only be given by PI, not dealers.

�

With all the above aside, few thousand here and few thousand there, Singaporeans actually don't mind paying, that's why uninformed buyers like myself when i started buying cars, just accept the deals upfront, dun do much negotiation, which is actually totally fine. Becos buying a new car is such a happy feeling, and exhilarating especially when you take delivery, smell and drive it home for the 1st time, heart beat beat beat. So for all buyers who have confirmed on their rides, big congratulations!! It will even be a bigger congrats once you take delivery!!

But for me, i just enjoy the whole searching and researching process and negotiation even till now after i bought my ride. And the "tui dong li" comes from when i find out fellow friends kena ultimate smoke bombs and enter into deals, in which once $20k deposit is paid, you are literally stuck.

My old ride, a nihon-made 1.8l SUV, was once classified by N*U* as a performance car and the quote was ! Even asked if got turbo!

Yah, back than even my Latio Sports (F*** sake its just a hatchback, it cant cheong for nuts) was quoted a higher premium as compared to normal Latio sedan. I asked the person why????? he said no choice, theres a 'Sports' and to the insurer, they dont care if your car can cheong or not.

hehe it shud be based on OMV and existing mkt value. S model omv higher so naturally insurance on a higher cost item is higher

Bro,so far i have heard only from various dealers who were willing to share.

it wud be nice for dealers here to honestly share any confirmation from their importers,or if they import themselves shud noe.

(more comfy ride but likely still torsion bar setup)

-UV glass panels for windows
(still need solar film for max allowable anti-UV and IMO more imptly anti-IR)

If u r referring to exodus, I only paid 10k deposit and via credit card. none of the PI i visited allowed me to pay via CC.
Accessories n price wise I think its quite good leh...compared to 3 other big PI that I visited. maybe because I booked during their 5 year anniversary promotion...not sure and dont really care as I have signed.
