since u are using a narrower tire compared to mine 225/55/17
i suggest try 230 front and back
and pump once every 2 weeks of driving to see how much deflation u get
within the 2 weeks monitor how comfortable or bumpy the ride once nears the two week gauge how the ride comfort and fuel consumption is then pump the tire pressure that is best for u, trial and error

i so far pump 240 front and back
and by end of two weeks my deflation will reach btw 211 to 220 by then i know i need to pump again
fuel consumption have been averaging btw 16.8 to 19.5km/l 80%expressway and 20%city driving
best half tank distance 430km, best full tank 630km

Bro, the exhaust pipe behind and the exhaust box below the driver side very ugly... thinking of spraying it to black color.
But must use Very High Temperature paint/spray,
I think it helps to prevent rust too.

The undercarriage including the exhaust should be rust resistance. Moreover spray it black may make your next buyer (if you decide to sell) think that you kena major accident before which resulted in a re-spray paint job.
I'm thinking to change the exhaust, wondering if it affect the FC.

See LTA regulation :

Exhaust system
The exhaust system, which consists of the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter and muffler, is used as part of a vehicle's exhaust emission control system to ensure that the exhaust emission meets our environmental requirements. Any modification to the exhaust system would therefore require LTA's approval. The following should be submitted to LTA for evaluation:
a) Certification from the product manufacturer stating that the proposed aftermarket exhaust system is suitable for the make and model of the vehicle.
b) Certifications or test reports from LTA/NEA recognised test laboratories to show that the aftermarket exhaust system when fitted to the vehicle on a per make and model basis complied with prevailing exhaust emission standards.
Note: Removing catalytic converters and mufflers are not allowed as it will adversely affect the exhaust emission characteristics of the vehicle.
Vehicle owners found modifying or tampering with the exhaust system may face a Court fine of up to $1,000 or 3 months' imprisonment upon conviction in Court.

Thanks for sharing, yeah i mean legal exhaust system. Something nicer.. haha!
any bros know if any workshop help to spray the exhaust pipe with VHT paint?
Since you buying the VHT paint for your exhaust, why not go to autobac and buy a lot of under carriage 3m rubberised paint and spray the whole car undercarrige..including the wheel arches. I bought about 6 can of the rubberised paint and I go to man exhaust to help me spray it while putting on the tail pipe. Pay labour of course.
You guys have to see the vezel undercarriage...that's the reason why I wanted it spray. .
Beside the exhaust itself most of the undercarriage are cover up. I'm looking at the blue vezel and wonder if you guys can give any opinions as to what color leather seats should suit best?
If fellow broses who already have the blue vezel maybe can share your valuable input?
My wife prefers tanned brown leather seats but I'm not sure if it'd suit the blue exterior. ..
Sorry, can't contribute much on the technical aspects car performance etc, can only ask at the aesthetics, but I hope to learn more from you guys!
Cheers and happy cny :)))
Hi guys, it's my first post here but have been following this thread ever since I've decided to be an aspiring vezel-ian. In fact it will be my very first car purchase too. Very very greenhorn!

Another method to try is to switch off the Econ mode. Understand from some bro here that travel mostly in city by switching off Econ mode gives better FC.

Thought Econ is like non-turbo mode ? How does it help by switching off Econ ?
I'm thinking to change the exhaust, wondering if it affect the FC.

bro i've never really thought of changing exhaust, but if you have researched any good lobang let us noe yeh?

increased performance if any however usually leads to more fuel consumption

thank you for your advise and i will try 230... hopefully i can get at least 500km per tank :)
i just use almost half of my tank and only hit 250km and i didnt step hard on accelerator (less than 2rpm)
haizzz whats wrong i also don't know....
any other input from other owners? or am i the only one facing such high FC ?

Not too far from yours.

Tyre pressure is 210/200 or less(as i did not bother to check/pump).

Anyway, planning to increase to 230 after my wife give birth in a month's time. The ride will be too rough for her now.
Also to change engine oil from 0w50 to 30 during next servicing.

Anyone tried the S mode yet? Tried it just now on an empty road. Pretty impress that the vezel climbs to 100km/H pretty quick. Initial sprint off the line was a bit slow but picks up speed pretty well after.

S mode = Poor FC

Hi All,

I am considering to get this car, was doing some research here but there is too much post, read until 230am and only managed to cover 30% of it....

Any Vezel owner here had drove to Malaysia?

I have a question on the rpm at high speed. As I drive to Malaysia a lot, with my current Honda City, 130km/h is slightly over 3,000 rpm and 140km/h is more than 3,500rpm, I find it taxing on my engine on long distance.

Can anyone who drove at Malaysia before share what is Vezel rpm when traveling around 130-150km/h?

Thanks in Advance

irritating dat jdm honda has to limit speed at 180km/h
i wonder why Subaru does not do that. However my ex-legacy gt wagon limited at 215km/h. That bugger cud have easily smashed past that speed,at near 210km/h u still feel decent acceleration.

VEZEL is a name coined from an English word bezel which means the oblique faces of a cut gem together with the V for vehicle. The name represents Honda's passion to create a vehicle which offers multifaceted charm and value, just like a cut gem, which changes its look depending on the angle."

have a noob question on FC. How do you guys actually calculate FC on the vezel? On my altis there is a panel which will indicate km/l.
Does Vezel have this?
If you are doing manual calculation, do you simply divide total distance by 40L? Am asking this because usually I will pump when reserve light turns on.. and I do not know how many litres have I consumed at this point.
Advice?

I always pump auto-stop. When reserve light comes on, I pump back to auto stop level. See Km travel on your car dial for this tank. See number of litres pump on receipt. Do the division and you get km/l

Press on the toggle stick near the dial until you see the display showing "Range". The indicated number would be the number of KM you could push the car further. Do note that this number fluctuates. 1st bar abt 170-190km if i'm not wrong.
oh but my hybrid bars measurements may differ. different dashboard altogether
i can get 750km for full tank easily 50/50 driving with occasional full throttle
my next aim by driving normally on normal mode is to hit 800plus km for for full tank. during hot weather,fc drops alot

prius designed for super petrol savings..confirmed can go further..haha..but i am enjoying not 100pct of 1 world, buy 85pct of both worlds, very very happy. both sporty drive and good fc.
not saying which car is better..but see what we want. i have a firm belief hybrid tech is e way to go..electric motor is like a turbo booster for the car. if they can wack a 100bhp electric motor in the vezel..plus the 130bhp LEB engine..shiokness man..i dun mind having a 150-200kg battery pack behind. can go further n faster

Not bad ya your FC as you are mostly on short distances. mine is 50:50 highway n city drive but being seeing consistent increase in FC over the past few tanks.
Should i send in my car for check? lol i never hit more than 480km per tank. And to be exact, i think i only hit once 480km on my first tank and its getting from bad to worst as my last tank hit a little bit more than 400km.... sounds really bad but something isn't right... especially after my 1st 1000km servicing, i realise FC gets higher... will it be something to do with engine oil?
What are the brand and specs?
Finally!! This mega Vezel thread deserves to be pinned.

Hopefully when the COE comes down to 50K or below, I may finally bite the bullet and buy the Vezel, over the Qashqai.

I'm curious though that some PIs registered new Vezels to sell as second-hand units... why? Financing? Some loophole I'm blur about?
its X model.... everything stock except for 17inch rim
I mean your eng oil bro. And how many litres of petrol did you pump each time? If assuming u pump 36l, 480km is about 13.3km/l. If it is 16 inch, you may get 14 and above. So seems ok to me. But since you did mention a decrease of fc after your 1k servicing which usually just change the eng oil and filter, and if it is using mineral oil, it is possible to have a decrease in fc. Until you use synthetic at 10k then prob it may get better. Im a noob too but this is just what I experience for all my past rides.

But since you did mention a decrease of fc after your 1k servicing which usually just change the eng oil and filter, and if it is using mineral oil, it is possible to have a decrease in fc. Until you use synthetic at 10k then prob it may get better. Im a noob too but this is just what I experience for all my past rides.
oh sorry for the wrong info.... hmm i usually pump around 38l +- .... hmm ya FC is definately going up since my 1st tank...
I will check it out what engine oil is used cos i never ask during my 1st servicing... I'm really noob when it comes to car :p i suspect it could be due to the engine oil ya maybe

I saw a blue vezel yesterday morning at CBP. If its you, Swee ride Bro!

no, not me . but yes, swee!

I think you should book the Vezel now, and agree on the price based on $50K COE. Otherwise, once the COE goes down to below $50K, many ppl may rush in and COE will go up. You may miss the boat then.
Should i send in my car for check? lol i never hit more than 480km per tank. And to be exact, i think i only hit once 480km on my first tank and its getting from bad to worst as my last tank hit a little bit more than 400km.... sounds really bad but something isn't right... especially after my 1st 1000km servicing, i realise FC gets higher... will it be something to do with engine oil?
wat engine oil was used?
usually right after a servicing, the next 200km or so,fc sux big time. i duno why is this so even for the right engine oil. experienced this all e time for my 2 ex-cars.oh sorry for the wrong info.... hmm i usually pump around 38l +- .... hmm ya FC is definately going up since my 1st tank...
I will check it out what engine oil is used cos i never ask during my 1st servicing... I'm really noob when it comes to car :p i suspect it could be due to the engine oil ya maybe
a wild guess is even after using back the same manufacture recommended w20 engine oil, after a servicing ur engine will naturally experience less friction, more revvy and smooth. But ECU is still signalling to spray more petrol into the chambers as needed in pre-servicing ignition. need some time for ECU to adjust to lean out e petrol injection and fc goes back to normal.
the next full tank shud see improvement. however if w40 oil was used..habis

My understanding is that pumping too full will stress the fuel filter...likewise if run the tank till close to empty...
i heard safety precautions also abt not pumping too full, but not of fuel filter. if that's true, wud wanna find out what reason n wat goes on inside the whole injection system from tank to engine

Eh? How come the HRV has only 2 x 3-pt seat belt in the rear, when Vezel has all 3 as 3-pt belts?? All the more reason NOT to buy from Kah Motor = more expensive, OMV not unnecessarily higher and less equipment???

Then again, I have owned a PI Honda before and was very very happy with it for 8 1/2 years.

Bro, u sure kah? 0w50? Change to w30 and feel the difference. I find using w30 is super good, more quiet and better FC.

bro, this is my first time driving a higher stance car then my previous sedans, and I find that the crosswind effect is more obvious when driving in Malaysia. Especially passing trailers.

I'm wasn't noticing about the rpm at the moment, but after 120km/h no more Green Ring even light footed.
Same experience with u when driving in Malaysia highway. Best FC is between 80-100km/h.
All 3 models do not have LED headlights.

Every PI is purchase with risk. Old or new Pi same theory. Of course new Pi higher risk same as Cb Volks auto. If PI demand more than 10k deposit then leave. Vezel Hybrid can achieve 18km/l easily in real world usage, but on much larger and draggier 215/55/17 Sport tyres and heavy rims. Also, the body design isn't as slippery as the Prius, with the Vezel being a tall body with substantially higher drag coefficient.
To achieve this kind of FC shouts volumes about the maturity of Honda hybrid technology, and it's willingness to be the David vs the goliath known as Toyota. Full marks for effort!
Prius has a 45L fuel tank, so naturally it can go further. Real world Prius FC is around 19-20km/l, but they are using Eco tyres of 195/65/15 size, 15", with top class rolling resistance.

Good Advice.

Best is zero deposit. You sign indemnity form. They put in bid for COE, if secured, you then pay them the $10K.
This is a win win situation for both new PI and for customer protection.

So far, any PI willing to do that?
5k should be a reasonable deposit for both customer and PI.... But of course, as a customer, best is zero deposit :)

Bro you neverask you never know.

There is as low as $2K and $0DP, going on right now.

Yes I know thereis new PI out there is doing $0 DP.
Ask around and agree on the terms.
The terms should be fair to both parties.
Onemight get lucky for your dp protection.

LIke i said earlier, This is a win win for both.
New PI being given a chance to provide competitive pricing and delivery.
Car buyers have peace of mind with deposit and not risk losing it if both parties stick to the agreed terms.

Bro. From what I gathered, it is different now. Most PI requires a deposit of 10K and above. In the past it is still possible to book at 2-5k. In any case so many bros collected their rides from the list of PIs listed. So just go for those. If it is too good to be true, usually it is.
HRV spec
Just for the engine itself, I would go for jdm DOHC.

Good for Vezel owner as it is more chio and sportyas compare to HRV.
I also wonder what Kah Motors is thinking!? AD price is already higher than PI and yet bring in HRV with lower specs and looks.

How to compete to PI Vezel Unless they throw in 5 or 10 years free maintenance like what BM and C&C (for their K3)

No DRL too right? Even their so call 5 yrs free servicing you will need to pay one. They will tell you the free servicing does not cover certain stuff. Some even say only free labour. Must really get them to tell you the fine prints.
i have a manual calculation list i kept in 2 small booklets since 2008. i calculate and write down everytime i pump.
From 1st hand 2.0L NA Tucson, to 2nd hand Legacy 2.0GT Wagon, to 2nd hand 2.4L NA Accord JDM (CU2), and now Vezel Hybrid.hee

Ian from swift told me after they helped a few Volks Auto clients get their rides at near cost, now they dun take deposit for car.

Only 10k deposit when going for COE bidding soon. All that is needed to firm the details of the deal is an in-principle approval of loan to prove credit worthiness of client. Final balance downpayment upon registration of vehicle.

I think so far this is 2nd best practice to mitigate risk.

Can further delay payment of 10k deposit, mayb 1 day b4 COE bidding and they must start bidding once deposit paid. I think the industry should set a rule, or we can add clauses in the SA, that bidding must take place once 10k deposit received. Cannot chin chai hold the money till 3rd bid or 4th bid.

i mentioned in the past b4 in forum too..

IMO best is whatever high deposit they can collect, but engage a 3rd party bank as a custodian to the funds.

Until paperwork is done up and endorsed by both parties, bank verify, then can proceed to take the money already deposited into the temporary transaction account.

Lehcheh, but can be very fast as well, depending on Bank's effectiveness. Since you have many deals a mth, the bank can dedicate human resource to such transactions.

Pte OTC shares and securities trading platforms also functions this way. When we click on BUY or SELL, a contract is initiated willingly, this triggers the right for the institute to attain claim of funds deposited in the acct monitored by the bank.

Even clients cannot chin chai withdraw back the money, have to request and prove with paperwork.

Agreed. But so far for mine, they already started bidding right at first bid. So bobian still need to give the 10K first. Maybe LTA or they should practice an auto email send to you to inform you that your bid has been submitted. Then this will also rid those smelly traders for telling you 4 or 6 bids but never bid until the last.

I pity KM, and i lagi pity vege heads who die die trust AD and buy from them. sigh.

in this case it's not about opinions anymore, it's about comparing fact to fact, deal to deal side by side.

btw, BM dropped their 5yr maintenance (max 12 times servicing) recently after COE dropped.

why would you pay the same price, let alone 10k more, for less accessories and a dated engine just for the sake of "credibility" of the AD. If KM brings in JDM, everything same specs, bring in original accessories to compete, then i will seriously consider, despite the ugly sounding name

IMO, our own ride we should take full responsibility, even warranty cannot be 100pct trusted.

yah man!! i like the point on LTa sending email, or sms once the deposit is paid under your name plus when your bid is submitted

IMO i do not agree that there i such thing as free. Everything is factor in the selling price. You buy high, you get more "free" stuff. You buy low, you get less. The 5 years free servicing is factor into the selling price.

Just imagine, previously normal package is free first 3 servicing and 3 years or 60K km warranty. There are many people that will find own workshop after first 3 servicing and even more after the 3 years warranty. I did the same, using only AD workshop when changing parts and using own workshop for normal servicing.

Therefore, theso call free 5 years servicing, you are tie in to the AD. AD take your servicingmoney first, deposit inbank to earn interest.

Super agree with this. Even for deals with PIs, you take on more loans, u get more freebies certainly. You take on no loan, you have to be very good with your negotiation skill to get more out from them.

Now Pi Standard practice is 10k down but if they really want your business then they will consider lower deposit. They don't want them look for other PI. Don't let those notorious Pi earn our hard earn money if buay song.
have another silly question , hopefully any bro/sis can provide advice...

it's regarding warning of the car engine temperature.

when we start the car, the blue warning light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off. this indicates that the car is suitably cooled and not overheated.

if i'm not wrong, the Vezel console (see photo showing 22 degree C) displays the temperature of the interior of the car right? it does not reflect the car engine temperature, right?

in my previous ride, there was the engine temperature dial showing a needle between 'Cold & 'Hot', so it was quite easy to tell if the car will be overheating.

so now, how to tell? only when the warning light comes on as red? will there be amber light? will that be too late?

True bro. But most PI may not adhere. Reason being if say deposit is only 2k or lesser than 5k, they do run into risk of customers giving up the ride say if in the event of coe decreasing significantly.

the real free stuff is to eat into their margins..still very profitable
dun get me wrong though..not against PIs or dealers..friends afterall
forum participants comprise of..say..20-30pct of car owners in sg at best?
many other vege heads to kena chop. this balances out the high average margins for dealers

customer giving up the ride PI also didnt lugi anything bcoz deposit wont be refund back and Car still can sell to others. If PI run road then we lose our money and nobody will pity us even our fantastic gov cant do much so we now must protect ourselves. Too many types of scams around these days.

e blue is mesmerizing lah!!

dun be silly bro, to say yourself silly, as there are no silly questions. So you are not silly :0)

-blue light if i'm not wrong lites up when we 1st start the car in the morning cold. This shows we shud let the engine idle a while to heat up aqeduately. Once blue indicator goes off, means suitable to start driving as the engine oil is warm and runny enough to coat all metal contact parts internally.

- the 22 degC should be ambient temperature..i.e outside air temperature

-i understand your concerns on temperature level of honda cars, i would prefer a gauge to show the heat too. may wanna get an ALL-IN-ONE electronic gauge to show vital signs of the car. Someone shared previously in this chatroom where we can use our smartphones to link wirelessly and get a live data screen. Don't like the ahbeng gauges that flood the dashboard; have to drill and screw onto dashbard too..damaging it, to me that's plain stupid. If we really have to wait for a red warning lite to show overheating, dats really a bit too late.

Maybe the PI could consider progressive payment just like the property developers. It would give us the piece of mind and the cash flow the PI needs. I would not mind paying a bit of admin for this facility. PI should listen to customers' voices and innovate to get more business.

If I am not wrong, the 22 degree C is outside temperature, not interior or engine temperature. As Vezel do not have temperature gauge for water, overheating of the engine is only made known when the warning light turns red. When it is blue, as when we are startingup car, it shows that the engine is cool. After warming up, the blue light will go off.

As most of the engines of cars are made of aluminium now, a lot of the engines will already be super hot when the water temperature warning light turns red. Once red, you better stop straight away. Do not try to carry on a bit more. I have experiences that my previous car's engine cracked once the red warning light turns on. Not a very good warning system. Once red, get ready to change engine. Aluminium engines are weaker when dealing with overheating problems.

Not sure how Vezel's warning system work, I will believe it will roughly be the same. So I insist to transfer my water temperature meter from my previous car over to my Vezel, so I can monitor if the water temperature starts climbing out of nowhere.

Hope this helps.

Not sure what is the practice of your PI. My PI, when secured my COE, he will call me to ask me to log in onemotoring to check on my COE using Singpass log in. He needs me to give him the COE number so he can then register the car for a license plate number with LTA.

COE will be under our name and not the PI.
