    Hi bros,

Are we suppose to get any confirmation letter or notice letter or something that after our PI tell us that they had secured our COE bidding?

    Thanks.

Nobody will give you letter on coe. You need to check one motoring to ensure COE under your name.

i got my ride within 1 week of booking, simultaneously consignment sell off my old ride. So i only placed few k to seal e t&c described and written on SA. No need to wait for COE bidding. Used on hand Cat E..but X or S model no sense to use CatE even if PI has. Usually PI sure keep CatE COE for standby. everyday that week i call 2 SE and e boss haha

My SE from LECO Auto texted me when she secured my COE. I guess different SE, different style. Some are more professional and sensitive to customer's needs.

Bro, u sure kah? 0w50? Change to w30 and feel the difference. I find using w30 is super good, more quiet and better FC.

    Paiseh, should be 5w40.

will go for 0w30 next round.

    Thanks bro,

Just went in to One motoring and checked.

Yes. There is a TCOE under my name, & its expire after 6mths.

Not much detail or description of the car but just mentioned its under Car A, etc.

    So, what's next?

Is it just waiting for my car to clear LTA inspections then can collect liao?

My SE told me that need 6 to 8 weeks to clear the inspection, coz there is long queue in Vitas. True?

    Thanks:)

One motoring only show your COE number and expiry. LTA inspection maybe 1-3 mths. After that reg of vehicle only takes 1-2 days then you can drive off your precious.

    Thanks:)

Nope. No more cold air. Just blower blowing out the remaining cool air from the air con pipings. So if you are stuck in a very long traffic light under the hot sun, you will feel hot after awhile.

    True & not true, Bro.
At engine stop mode, the blower will circulate the cool air inside the cabin until the temperature sensor detected that the temperature does not meet our setting, the engine will start again to run the aircon compressor to cool the cabin. So when stuck in bad traffic under hot sun, our Start/Stop feature becomes more frequent, which i think is a bit over & unhealthy (for the engine) so i would off that feature in "sunny bad traffic" jam..

Bro. Go to lta coe website on the day of bidding. There is a link to check your bidding. Log in with your singpass and they will show you if there is any bidding under your name probably 30 mins before the bidding ends. PI nor agent will inform you until they got your bid successful. And many PI and AD from what I know hardly bid every round for you. So they hardly adhere to the 4 or 6 bids etc etc.

Ya. And do not just base on price. The specs are lower. But perhaps their paper value may be a bit more because of the lesser cevs rebate, but negated by the higher selling price.

have another silly question , hopefully any bro/sis can provide advice...

it's regarding warning of the car engine temperature.

when we start the car, the blue warning light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off. this indicates that the car is suitably cooled and not overheated.

if i'm not wrong, the Vezel console (see photo showing 22 degree C) displays the temperature of the interior of the car right? it does not reflect the car engine temperature, right?

in my previous ride, there was the engine temperature dial showing a needle between 'Cold & 'Hot', so it was quite easy to tell if the car will be overheating.

so now, how to tell? only when the warning light comes on as red? will there be amber light? will that be too late?

Hi bro, can u advise what model u driving? I have only 1 ring lighted up (middle ring). The other 2 ring has no light. I am driving X model.

May bro who install ICE in Vezel, can help :

    1. Understand most PI give low end HU. What HU do you replace with or use ?

    2. Wonder it is necessary to have another battery to power the In-car-Entertainment so that the original battery is used drive the car electronic ?

quick quick share lobang . [wave]

Bro it is best to cut away the middle man aka PI, when you want to upgrade. Ask them who is the installer of the HU then go and negotiate directly.

But before you do that go to a few ICE shops and compare the retail price. This would give you a relatively fair indication of the price margins.

    Good Luck!

Same situation I faced previously. I Refuse to do business topping up by a lot. Some reputable PIs even quoted me 4k more and ask me down for negotiation which I can't be borther with as I view them as not really keen to deal with those who wanted to pay full upfront. Bro, do not give up though, there are some where they are willing to deal with top up of 2k or less. i won't share my contact as yet as I have yet to receive my car and how my purchase experience will turn out is still a mystery. But really, do visit a few more PIs. Some are more willing to do business with lesser top ups.

Hi guys & gals, just read this in Subaru forum about car battery. Not sure how true this is. Have anyone experience this??

Enhanced Flooded Batteries were developed for use in stop-start vehicles. The reduced cost of manufacturing EFBs is attractive for manufacturers in order to help keep overall new vehicle production costs down. The EFB design incorporates a porous fibre material, sometimes called "scrim", along with plates that are thicker than a conventional flooded battery. The use of low pressure contact material on the plates of EFBs retains the active material and improves their cycle performance which is necessary for stop-start applications. Examples of vehicles using an EFB include the Mazda CX-5, Subaru XV and the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic.

Also note that conventional batteries should not be used in start-stop vehicles:

The fitting of a conventional flooded battery to these vehicles will lead to premature failure, it is therefore critical to ensure the vehicle operates as per the manufacturers requirements, the correct chemistry battery application is installed. The batteries look exactly the same as a traditional flooded battery. Unfortunately there is no standard to identify if a battery is an EFB, some are only evident by their part number. Most manufacturers using these batteries have a blue/white label attached to the top of the battery indicating it can be used For Stop & Start.

Bro... U must call them in advance for w30... Top up $50

yes, they told me to top up $50 which I am reluctant to pay. In the end, used what they recommended (15w40). According to the mechanics, the next will be 5w40 synthetic (10k servicing). Also, the WS does not have w30 synthetic, they only have mineral. As such, got to top up $120 more due to more frequent servicing (10k vs 5k). Asked them whether can I buy my oil and they just top up. They said yes but still have to top up $50. [confused][confused]

Any self-respecting workshop must have Fully Synthetic W30 oil on hand. If not, its really quite a sorry workshop with poor ethics towards customer service and accountability. They are using the same ruse to discourage you from putting W30 oil with a thousand and one unfounded reasons, and profiting from you in the process.

I reiterate; JDM manual for the L15B / LEB engine in ALL Vezels require W30 oils at the very least.

Unlike conventional (non-start stop) engines, where the engine oil is continuously flowing through the engine internals at a relatively constant oil pressure on idle (less than 2 Bar), to increasing oil pressure proportionate to throttle position (4-6 bar), oil pressure NEVER drops to ZERO in such cars, unless of course the engine is shut down.

Now we move to our start-stop engine function. When the engine is shut down at the traffic light, unless I'm very much mistaken, the oil pump stops functioning as well and there will be negligible oil pressure left in the system. This causes heat to soak up in several "hot spots" within the block. The L15B engine, being non-turbo charged, "hot spots" within should not reach temperatures so high that it can damage anything. You will want a good quality fully-synthetic oil to ensure the oil do not break down prematurely over time.

At this point, the oil around these "hot spots" are, hotter.

The main issue is when the Vezel start the car when you lift off the brakes. The engine kicks back to life, and what happens next is crucial to why I keep preaching thin engine oils. Usually after we start engine, we accelerate, and this causes the greatest engine stress. Why? Remember the hotter oil around the "hot spots"? We WANT these hot oil to conduct the heat and flow as fast away to other regions, and cooler oil to quench the region, in preparation for the immediate acceleration segment. Do you think, compared with thicker, and thus more viscous (slower flow) engine oil, which will be more harmful to the engine in the long run?

Start-stop equipped Engines REQUIRE good quality thin engine oil. Honda will not anyhow put W30 in their manual for fun. The hybrids LEBs require even thinner W20 oils, right in the manual.

The age-old lore about our climate requiring W40 oil is kind of bulls**t. You guys bought the Vezel over the HR-V. This means you all are technically more savvy, more informed than the masses, and at the end of the day, fortune favours the bold.

    Peace, Vezelers.

Bro, I cannot praise u enough (I need to praise 8 more people before I can send you praise).

Since my WS also do not carry w30 EO, I purchase directly fm Liqui Moly 0w30 synthetic oil for $100+. My WS charge me extra labor cost & changing of filter for $60+. Total I spend $170+ inclusive of GST for my 5K servicing. Engine become quieter, smoother and more responsive. My WS also told me the same bulls**t about Singapore climate & traffic condition that we should use w40. Frankly I really do not understand what is so difficult to get w30 EO for us.

yes, they told me to top up $50 which I am reluctant to pay.

What workshop is that? so lousy.

Two words, incompetent and uneducated. Typical of most local workshops. That's why as much as possible I DIY.

As long as it's a reasonable brand of engine oil that meets the requirements, it can do the job. Do shop around and/or Google to find out how much the engine oil costs...

I owned a JDM Honda for 8 1/2 years and used various engine oils of the right weight 5w40. Ended up using Carlube Triple R 5w40 which cost only $30 per 5L bottle!!! Damn cheap but it did its job and I change oil every 5K interval and the engine was fine all the way till I sold the car after 220K mileage.

Best part? A lot of other owners were often surprised that I used such cheap oil on a Euro R's K20A engine... but heck, the oil did its job and the damn engine was pampered by frequent changes.

This thread is so informative. I've been following it since a few months back. Vezel is definitely a good choice and I am intending to get one myself. Current ride COE going kaput in May.. looks like Hup Long has the most orders and delivery now.
