I bought this and its on the way to SG. Like it because its discreet and make it a little bit easier for my little ones to board the car.

Lets see how it goes during installation. *fingers crossed*

From tabao bro? Do keep us posted as I am worried if the quality is good enough for my young ones to step on it safely.

My source say plug and play. That's why I say, fingers crossed.

plug and play may not be safe to step on. Make sure you install it correctly.

i also dun have workshop to install. i saw the brackets needs to do some drilling so that why haven't considered buying it yet.
Guess Taobao is really poisonous haha.[/quote]

From my understanding, it's using back the same mounting holes as the existing "side skirt" (dunno if I call it correctly). Anyway supposingly no drilling is required.

I not sure about others, but my side step can be step & stand. So far withstand-ed a 85-kg person & another similar one who did the detailing & polishing on n the car top using the side step..

I can see some ofyou are eager to make some enhancement to your rides.

Some of the attachment if not inspected by LTA will be deemed illegal.

Worst still some insurance company will make this an issue.

So, you better check, especially with your insuranceso that you know your situation..

I remember someone in this forum provided a link to LTA Site featuring the Dos & Don'ts of Vehicle add-ons.. Good to know.

As for insurance, I think its case-by-case. Nevertheless, good to check with the Ins. Co. But to protect their rice bowl, normally everything you ask also "cannot" one. So for my thought, so long as Mechanical ones & not safety related (to ownself or others), it would be fine. Electrical or Performance add-ons are the ones that need more careful considerations. Not cannot do, but need take own responsibility for those done. Don blame others (seller, installer, etc)

agree, stuffs like bodykit / rim has to be original from mfgr, otherwise ins not claimable.

That's true. Anyway, I think no one would claim Insurance over Body kit.

See my posting below. Hoped it helps. Worth every cent.

My lady had her coating done today by Ace GT. Share some photos on the outcome. Good job.

Took the Advance package (3 coat system, 5 yrs warranty). Damage is $1200+. Go back yearly for touch up ($100) on areas where coating may have thinned. Total damage over 5 years is $1600+. That worked out to $320 per year for show-room shine throughout the 5 years. Worth it? Less than a dollar a day for an eye candy that brighten my day. I think so. If you want to do it, go for the long haul. If not, don't waste money. That's my 2 cents advice.

Just to share, the Vezel was my first purchase from a PI, and the PI bidding patterns made me very kan cheong. They will bid only at the last moment - seemingly holding out for a drop within the X bids that they promise you.

It is generally different with ADs. My friend booked a Mazda from Trans Eurokars at the recent Motorshow, managed to bargain to a super low price, non-guaranteed COE. Today the AD bid for the COE and secured it immediately - delivery in a week! As some of the bros here say, fast and furious!

Bro... Check out the 2nd page... Did u bought the extra cable and adaptor? Not all apps are compatible.

Oh, sorry my bad. Thanks for pointing out. I only have the USB cable... Called one of the audio guys and they said the set of cable and adaptor costs about $100. Worth it?

Called my audio installer today to ask for the window visor that my SE ordered for me FOC. It is the 3rd batch he ordered and all snap up by the PIs in turf city. No stock for me. I guess that it is now becoming a standard accessary for all new vezel ordered. For those who have not taken your ride or new buyers, try to negotiate for this.

Hi all vezel owners or owners of other kinds of rides that have warranty under workshops outside. Personally my ride is warrantied under Optima Werkz. I really don't mean to stir shit, but like the saying goes, if shit hits the fan, everybody kena. Had just finished my 2nd servicing with Optima last Saturday, guess what,i am shocked that they used Texas engine oil for my beloved K24 engine and i am being charged the price of mobil one man. Can anyone enlighten me on the situation? And also, vezel bros/sis, do check what oil they put in ur ride. A fren of mine,as well as myself suffered from INSTANT drop in FC after the "Texas" was poured in. Cruising feels rough and coasting feels draggy.

If possible, in the list of vezels delivered and booked, owners may like to add in brackets what engine oil they were given after they're 1st few run in services. If required, we should surface this issue to our PIs to instruct the workshops to stop pouring gunk into our engines, worst of all charging us based on higher grade oil. Ridiculous.

Optima is famous for having high end super car clients, does it mean they would daringly pour crap engine oil for them? All in the name of reducing costs?!?!

Feel u bro. Cannot stand dishonesty in car servicing. Now is engine oil, imagine if need to change parts & they gives us re-con parts instead of original parts. Will take note on my next servicing but how do we ensure right engine oil is used?

Frankly, we can only ask and request to see perhaps a list of oils to be used and their prices. Also at the end, request for a discount. Always always ask for further discount, they may give.

I hope more bros in this forum may come out to share. Especially vezel owners who has done 1000, 5000, 10000km servicing.

As a group we can make things happen. Engage PIs also, feedback to them. As this will affect business as well.

Worse comes to worse..stay at the workshop during the servicing, or request them to pour the engine oil in front of your supervision...

I got the exact same issue like you.. Which optima werkz u went? For my case, upper Thomson branch..

In fact, I asked them before servicing like that oil they used and the viscocity.. The service advisor told me they can use shell only in their branch.. At the end, the receipt shown is Shell 5w-40.. But they pasted a note "Texas Fully Syn SKQ xxxx" on my service booklet.. Anyway, I am not really sure they poured Texas or Shell.. But I just feel cheated and I got no trust anymore with them.. Quite busy recently, but I think I will escalate it to their headquarter..

Since my friend and I experience instant drop in FC, i feel that the type of engine oil, quality and brand plays a big part. For those owners who r experiencing lower FCs in their vezels..it might correspond to crappy engine oil used. When i was driving my Legacy 2.0L GT previously,i was pouring 10w50 mobil one (less than 55bucks for 5Litres)that i bought from giant when there were sales promo, together with cerratec treatment every 30k km,that gave me better mileage and a super smooth quiet engine on idle, serviced in JB with 10 ringgit labor charge. Original oil filter 25bucks i bought from stockist. I feel my "cheapo" way of servicing is still better than what we're experiencing now. Warranty cost has alredy been paid to them, and now still wanna painfully slice off a pc of meat at a time as we go back to service. In fact,AD workshops are no better. Had bad experience with Komoco last time. Same thing, charge exorbitant prices. They make good money becos a gd majority of car owners in SG happen to be "cai tao" when it comes to cars.

I think we really need to face off with the workshops in these matters. Just deal with customers with integrity and honesty and we'll keep coming back. Simple business ethics. We need to voice out to protect ourselves and our investments.

Heard warranty is void if I decide to go other workshops for the 20k servicing. True????

Another question is what if the workshop closed down in less than 3 years, does that mean the warranty for the vezel is gone???

Another question is what if the workshop closed down in less than 3 years, does that mean the warranty for the vezel is gone???

Yep..can look for PI on recourse but depends on their discretion on service recovery

when i had a PI car, I used to bring my own oil there... for small cars w20 also can just change earlier

I would rather do that. But what do they charge you?

Alright just to be clear about the oil usage

For me and bro TanWL1970 we both use mineral oil for the 1k Km and 5k km servicing

Once hit 10k km will change to synthetic oil- thats according to the agreement by the workshop

we did our due diligence by asking what type of engine oil they use -mineral oil for the first 2 servicing which is proper for new engines to set in and after 10k km on wards use syn oil.

also another thing to check guys your battery.

Vezel uses non maintenance free battery and needs to top up once in a while, so please top up battery water- especially vezel is heavily reliant of electronics to function- a lot fo start/stop of the engine starter motor and aircon

if you change to maintenance free battery it may not be that a good thing base on experience

As i have work in a machinery industry (i posted this before many many pages back duno anyone noticed) i find that maintenance free battery dun last very long the most/max less than 1.5yrs or lucky ones 2yrs.

My machine workshop guys at my workplace swears by non maintenance free battery which can last up to 3 yrs with constant top ups when necessary.

so far top up my own once and once from last serivce

now waiting to go for my 10k km servicing soon ...i think i have out do older vezel owners in terms of milage clocked, now 9200km after close to 3 months driving [grin]

For White Vezel, what are the 2-tone colors best suit for leather seat?

    Option 1

IMHO, you will not go wrong with either Shell Helix Ultra (Kah Motor is using this, i think), Mobil 1 Gold/Silver (used 0w-40 for my previous FD1, cheap and good oil, can get it pretty cheap when Giant is running offer price for it) or Liqui moly (using 5w-40 for my current ride).

Came with the car. Free servicing for 1K, 5K and 10K. The mineral oil is not meant to last till 10K, my next free servicing is at 5K, where they will use mineral oil again, then 10K where they use synthetic to last to 20K.

Optima HQ and Serangoon branches are supporter of Texas. I called Upper Thomson, he said will use Shell 5W40.

I just came home after a day's driving ard to run biz errands. The more i drove the more furious i became as i felt my k24 engine which was supposed to be silky smooth..now feels like there's freaking sand inside..especially on hard acceleration. Totally unlike what a feeling after servicing should be. Checked my tyre pressure,it was all normal at 260psi (my habit to pump higher than normal and through trial and error got the best FC as well as even tyre wear). I was charged abt $100 bucks on texas gunk oil alone b4 labor and gst. This is nonsense. I need to feedback to PI. In time to come they may have all of us knocking on their doors demanding a change in workshop or change back to proper oil.

My thoughts. Simple is the best. Too fancy may be nice for short term look but might not last vision cos become sianz easily. Back to basic, with minor spice (eg. using different thread colour) may be lasting & unique to own satisfaction. Another thing to note is possibility of dirty pants or fading jeans colour or sweating back/tigh causing the leather of light tone to smear & difficult to clean off..
    My 2 cents..

haha ok!! Well, if they are ok with it and assure me that warranty not affected, i would be happy to incur a nominal $20 surcharge for using my own oil even. plus labour plus filter...actually filter i can even get from stockist myself..you buy in bulk of 4-5pcs and above...it's less dan 10bucks each haha.

Having it at head level is good enough .. no need to face toward the driver unless you need a "hairdryer" effect when blasting the speakers.

Alternatively, replace the stock paper speaker with an co-axial at the doors with min mod. This is next best option over the component speakers on A-pillars.

It will be nice if someone managed to find the customised A-pillar to poison everyone.

When will be your next servicing?
let's hope they do what they say. I believe tttwei feedback that verbally they say they use shell at Thomson Branch, in the end still used texas. Hopefully after you've checked you can share with us and shed some light. These are small clues to know if our workshops are dependable. If they r so big and reputable, they should give us a list of oil at decent prices to choose. Let us choose and let us pay for what we choose. Plain outright honesty. Imagine 10 ringgit labour in my trusted mechanic in JB for yrs...versus $40 labour for oil change in SG. Real oil and oil filter change requires less than 15min minutes, Wow, per hr rate is approx $160. Shiok right.

I hv booked my first 1k appt on Monday. The mecahnic is quiet friendly compare to the guy i spoken at serangoon. He even allowed me to choose the engine oil tat i want. I think i will stay v Shell 5W40. Crossed finger.

No idea, which is better, but i guess is preference and what use we have for the car. I know some trackies like motul, amsoil and castrol. Anything but TEXAS!! haha.. did a generci search on texas oil, alot of funny testing and experiments to markets its worth. But the fact is, i feel immediate roughness in my engine and drop in FC. That for me speaks volume...

What they told you is true. It is base on the temperature of the country. To understand it easily, just assume w20 is for 20 celsius and w40 is for 40 celsius. So for singapore w40 will be sufficient.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.
