I think only soundproof wheel arc nia.

I soundproof my old car doors... But didnt help much..

Wondering are there gaps when door close... Must check all rubber seal

Soundproof on doors is better if have ICE to reduce vibrations. Imo soundproof on roof, base and wheel arc more important.

SP of the doors will make a difference if you are fussy about how your door speakers sound and if the door feels very tinny... like my old Civic FD3. After SP the doors close with a nice solid thud instead of a hollow tinny sound. Also helpful if there are loose bits of trim inside which cause rattles. Don't expect the car to sound much quieter though.

Initially I have the same thinking as you to install original Honda HU. I purposely go to Kah Motors showroom to take a look of Jazz HU, however it is seems that all Honda HU are custom-made to suit per model as the dimension of the panel seems cannot fit into Vezel's HU opening hole. [:/]

is it? wow lau.. i prefer the honda HU lei.. looks more fitted than the HU which a PI offer me. hopefully can install the honda HU when kah motor bring in the HRV...

Ya i think aftermarket sound proofing wont help too much.. the road noise for vezel is still ok right ?? . sorry as cannot test drive the vezel so cannot make any comparison myself...

I think the road noise is bearable and you will get used to it. of course, certain types of roads, you will get louder noises but as I was on the NS highway, i didn't get distracted with the noise too much. bearable, la

This one I got no idea...but I think very costly.
My Fit noise mainly is from the floor and boot since I got 2 pieces of soundproof material on each doors and also extra door seal. Usually I can't hear the noise when I on my head unit volume 9 level.

Honda cars are not known for good noise insulation. If quiet is a major priority you should really look elsewhere. Think only the Accord and perhaps the CRV could be considered quiet.

Thai built HR-V launched only as a 1.8L

    http://paultan.org/2...n=internallinks

The Honda HR-V has been launched in Thailand. The B-segment SUV is positioned as a premium sport crossover in the Land of Smiles and is only available in 1.8 litre form, paired to a CVT automatic gearbox. In keeping with the premium positioning, theres no 1.5L or manual version in Thailand.

The 1.8 litre engine is question makes 141 PS at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, similar to the one in the Civic 1.8. The SOHC i-VTEC unit is paired to Hondas G Design Shift CVT automatic gearbox. The engine is E85 biofuel compatible for the Thai market.

The HR-V sits on the platform that underpins the B-segment City and Jazz duo, but its wheelbase is the longest in the family at 2,610 mm, 10 mm longer than the sedan and 80 mm longer than the hatch. Being an SUV, its the tallest too all versions ride on 17-inch alloys with 215/55 tyres.

    Honda-HR-V-Thailand-0001-630x354.jpg

Three grades are on offer in Thailand S, E and EL. Standard on the entry-level S grade are Ultra Seats, Smart Key (keyless entry) with push start, electric parking brake, ECON mode button, LED tail lamps, five-inch touch screen head unit, Bluetooth, touch-sensitive auto air-con, ABS, EBD, Hill Start Assist, Isofix, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and dual front airbags.

The E adds on LED headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs), paddle shifters, cruise control, seven-inch touch screen head unit with Advance Touch, SIRI and smartphone integration, two USB ports (one in S), and HDMI port and six speakers (four in S).

The top of the range EL spec gets luxuries such as a panoramic roof, tube style LED rear lamps, piano black interior trim plus side and curtain airbags to make it six in total.

    Honda-HR-V-Thailand-0010.jpg?resize=339%\
    hr-v-modulo-thailand.jpg?resize=283%2C18

Also available is an optional Modulo pack, which includes visual add-ons such as an all-round bodykit, a different grille treatment and larger 18-inch, dual-tone wheels. Also thrown in are stylised wing mirror caps, grab handle covers, front fender garnish, boot sill protector and window visors.

The HR-V starts from 890,000 baht (RM90,922) for the S, rising to 975,000 baht (RM99,609) for the E. The range topping EL goes for 1.045 million baht (RM106,761). Colour options include Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl, Ruse Black Metallic and Morpho Blue Pearl.

Now that the HR-V has been launched in Indonesia and Thailand, Malaysia should be next in the list. This will be a hot one when it lands, for sure.

From this photo can see there are 2 small buttons near the steering wheel audio control. Is it the same one we have in sg?

That was quite impressive given that the speed is normally higher on NS highway, by default most sg driver will drive at least 15 % above limit [:)]

alamak.. i am driving the one of them now lei.....haha. :(

LOL,.. but the newest Accord has Active Noise Cancellation-

    Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) uses the audio system to generate out-of-phase sound waves to reduce engine noise inside the cabin and create a more pleasant driving experience.

This should negate some of the noise that gets into the car because of inadequate insulation.

Have not seen this tech being used in the lower end Hondas.

    INSIDIOUS

wah, really?! wow, i hope they were "stalking" the vezel, not me!
the trip was good, thanks. went to KL for the weekend.

the car performed better than expected, at least for me. passengers were very comfortable, the ride was very smooth. i went as fast as 140km speed and the car was stable and steering firm and did not shake. i had a full load of passengers so maybe that added to the stability, I guess; but then it also affected the fuel consumption; i could manage only 17km/l at best. i am a law-abiding driver so never push the car too hard or drive faster than speed limit. on the way back, it was raining super heavily so had to slow down much of the way. i forgot to monitor the range, sorry.

got quite a bit of 'stares' from M'sian cars (!!); at first, i wondered if something was wrong with the car but after a while realised they were admiring the car!

over-taking was smooth and pick-up when required was there. notice a little bit of 'lagging' when going uphill and the dial turned 'blue' straight away! went up with full tank and had roughly 1/4 (about 5 bars) left by the time i reached malacca on the way back (didn't drive much in KL itself).

to me - especially when i compare to my previous car -the driver's (height) position is commanding as the 'view' seems wider and there is more 'presence' on the road. ultimately, to me, i feel the vezel gives one the versatility of a family-passenger carrier and yet sporty-rugged mover. makes sense or not?!

at the causeway jam on the way back, i switched off the auto-stop function to avoid the start-stop feature, but otherwise,
i had it on all the time.

Bro, it was me that spotted u on the NSHW towards KL. I was driving a Nissan and overtake u a few times to look closely on the car. Hahaha... I still have ur car pic on my phone. Lol. Hope u dun mind, im jus admiring and totally envy...

Agreed with bros here that noise insulation not so good. Have been driving it for a few days now. My old Nissan has better noise insulation as well as quieter engin. However Vezel has much more features and better FC, not to mention more chio also. Lolx.

    1) Toyota Harrier

    2) Mazda CX-5

    3) Honda Vezel - saw a few hybrids

    4) Nissan X-Trail

A lot depends on where you travel (expressway or city driving) and how much pressure you put on your pedals

I normally try to be gentle

last week i was averaging 18km/L with driving speeds btw 70 to 90km/h with ECON mode

this week speed btw 80 to 100km/h and still managing 17.6km/L
it went down because of jams and intermittent start stop traffic on the expressway

btw what was ur mileage at the end of the tank

i normally pump when left two bars, which is abt 550-570km range

    Wow that is outstanding FC.

My old Civic Hybrid would get at best 19km/L on highway runs. In mixed urban/highway driving I would seldom get 15km/L. 14.7km/L sounds pretty darn good for a non-hybrid/ non-diesel on our congested roads to me...

Its pretty good. It is ok. If the Eco button is off it is even more powerful.
Suppose to be a 2 litre performance due to high compression engine.

I downgraded from a salon 2.4 litre. Still find it ok. Its not Q5 pickup though but for the price it is good.
Just find it abit noisy on some roads. Maybe it is the wheel area. Trying to think what to do.

Don't get angry and shout. You can always quote some of us here who booked the same time, even later, and have already seen their car arrived. If it is the real deal, your PI should be able to provide a reasonable answers.

Maybe you could also contact those bros in this forum and visit your PI together.

Anyone went to the workshop and ask whether we can permanently disable the CTBA and auto turn off engine function ?

Why want to disable them? Thought they were included forsafer &economical reasons. Doesn't perform the way it should be?

By the way, I guess nobody have used it yet and I hope nobody have to. Without the spare tyres, how do we even use the repair kit provided? Anyone experienced enough?

It's to "mend" and "patch" wherever possible. If damage to tyres still beyond repair, then got to call tow truck.

Lots of cars nowadays coming without spare tyres liao... a lot of continental car users replaced their run flat tyres with better performance tyres, also no spare tyres nor repair kit. :D

not sure why you would want to do that; the CTBA is a safety feature that comes equipped with the S & W models right (?) becos the G model does not have it.

to me, after a while, you barely notice the auto stop function working; but this is me, just saying

Yea the CTBA is a good safety feature. But every time I drive to the parking gantry with CTBA on. It will beep and suddenly E brake. Then there is this crunching of gear sound. Which I worried it might damage something in the car.

I went to Google it and the CTBA activates only when we are traveling at 30km or below and it will brake for you once it sense an obstacle nearby . Which is why it only happens when i'm going through the gantry.

Yes it does, at low speeds i.e. below 30km/h

In fact, I find it rather irritating at times, well... most of the time.

Most recent incident was carpark upslope.

Drove "too close" to the barrier and the CTBA came on (with warning beep beep beep), cutting engine power and car started to roll backwards. Luckily no car behind.

Another time, while moving off from traffic light, i was again "too close" to lorry in front and (warning beep beep beep) auto e.brake! Damn!

It may give you a fright.

I was startled initially but getting used to it now.

Engine stop does affects the air-con.

But you can either manually turn this off (it will be auto-activated each time u start ur car).

    OR

when stopping, depress brake just enough to stop the car and not to depress all the way.

There is actually a slight gap in between.

Of course, dun hold it in macham half-clutch position.

Usually, if i know the green light is coming on soon, i will not depress the brake all the way.

Bro Sean explained it better. If it doesn't bother you then no issue. But I find it quite mafan. Other than that the car is awesome max

Bro CTBA is a good thing, it actually 'assist' you when you fail to react suddenly to an object or vehicle nearby

my CTBA has been working very well not just near car park gantries, on the expressway in a jam, at a traffic junction also works well. It proves that the senors are there for a reason

but i can understand the sudden nature of it and i have already gotten use to it and just step on the accelerator and move off slowly

Happened to my last Sunday going into a parking gantry as well. Gave me a shock before i realise it is the CTBA. However, i do not think i will turn it off as it is a good safety feature.

I find that the start stop engine is a great way to save petrol but upon releasing the brake and restarting, the car jerk or vibrate, just like you are starting the car. I tend not to step the brake all the way if i find it is only for a short stop.

Gantry can be avoided by not going too close...

Hi Seankwa, thanks for the advice. I didn't know that it will do more damage. But what do you mean "half clutch"?

Normally I do not press/step all the way but car not moving/fully stop. After a few seconds a yellow light brake paddle indicator, lights up for 2-3 seconds before turning off. I have experience this many times. Is this bad for the car?

If its fully stopped then it should be fine...

For those bros here still waiting for your Vezel, I hope that this piece of information can eased the burden while you still in doubt about your PI answer.

This afternoon I went down to my PI (own by my personal friend) to chit chat with his staff (anyway I have already collected my car few weeks ago). I asked him that what is the typical waiting time for Japanese car, he mentioned that it take about 4 months if you booked the car for a fresh shipment. He also mentioned that some of the shipment can be delay up to a month (based on his past experience). One of his customer is waited 9 months for his car that came from Europe.

You might want to try the internet, ebay, taobao, or one of the other internet online stores. They might already have it.

Alternatively, go to a workshop and ask them to custom one for you, shouldn't be too difficult with an alu plate, some screws and handiwork. ;)

Just now I went down to Tuff City and looked around: there were plenty of Vezels there. I really liked the car for its design and layout. In fact, my bro and I sat in both the Vezel and the Harrier, and I actually preferred the Vezel: it was quieter, surprisingly big boot and its more economical overall.

Nowadays, OMV is decided by Customs after considering all factors and average of the same car model. Once GST and relevant taxes are paid, we will put at our showroom, workshop or storage as you've mentioned,

Then the wait for Vitas and Vicom inspections begin.

ARF is paid only during registration of vehicle.

Market is same for all including properties. Willing buyer, willing seller. If you happen to buy at a much higher price as compared with market prices, it was your decision to purchase, it's also buyer's own duty to practice due diligence.

Promise car delivery, you got to check if this was stated on the contract, in black and white, or via any forms of recorded correspondence. Got to see what's the T&Cs.. If verbal promise only, I doubt can do much.

Just wanted to know what kind of engine oil (both brand and viscosity). Because Honda Vezel's Manual is recommended 0W-20. Do you guys think it is a bit too thin based on Singapore climate?

Must keep in mind that we are buying direct imports from japan and the manual is not yet fully cater to SG. So must do some adjustment ourself.
